And finally, my kids. Calla Kidd Waltman and Holling Fordham Waltman. I have been asked on more than one occasion how I’m able to get writing done while raising two small children. Well, the first answer is a credit to so many of the people listed above, who give me help time and again. The real answer though is this: every day, you reinvent the world for me and in doing so you make it clearer. When the world is clearer, my role in it is clearer. And thus easier. Everything I do is easier because of you two. Everything I do is worth doing because of you. I love you both more than the sun and the moon and the stars in the sky, more than the mountains and the valleys and the whole of creation. I love you more than words can ever say, and I love you forever and ever.

D-BOW’S HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS SERIES BOOK ONE
“Waltman’s series opener features plenty of basketball action fueled by hoops slang that will set basketball-mad readers right onto the court…avoids slam-dunk answers, leaving readers poised for the next book. Like Derrick, this series is off to a promising high school career.”

D-BOW’S HIGH SCHOOL HOOPS SERIES BOOK TWO
“As in the series debut, Waltman wrings drama from believable day-to-day trials and triumphs…he spikes the plot with extended play-by-plays called in Derrick’s voice, putting readers on court in the middle of the action. Things are far from settled with arch-rival Hamilton, or with Jasmine, for that matter, and teens who have now reached series halftime will certainly be back for third period.”

“As a childrens/YA bookseller, I LOVED THIS BOOK. The language, the characters, the basketball—they are all spot on perfect…I am so excited about this series.”
