She gave a half shrug. “I never go anywhere without them.” She nodded at his hands. “Plus, you came to bed with your weapons.” She reached for the sheath at her left thigh, but he halted her, his chest rising and falling heavily.

“Leave them,” he demanded gutturally. He shot her a hot look before grabbing the bottom of her shift with both hands and yanking it, ripping it completely up the middle.

Tempest blinked. Well, then. She lifted herself up with her hands and shimmied until her destroyed undergarment fell off. Tossing her head, she stared at her mate lazily. “Got that out of your system?”

  “Not by half.”

His low answer sent shivers of anticipation down her spine as he soaked in the sight of her. Many pale scars rans across her flesh, but she wasn’t ashamed. Tempest was proud of all her body had survived.

She lay down and batted her eyes, hoping to rile him further.

“Bloody hell.” He ran a hand over his mouth, his eyes wide, and heaved another breath. Then he ran his hand through his hair, his jaw clenching. “So…damn…beautiful.”

She could say the same about him. She could say a lot of things. But Tempest was done talking—except for one last plea. She sat up and slid her hand around his neck and hauled him down to her, his muscled body pressing her into the bed. “Come and love me, mate.”

It was exactly the right thing to say.

Pyre captured her mouth in a searing kiss. His heated hands traveled her curves, learning every part of her body. She nipped at his chin before he worked his way down her neck, trailing his tongue along her pulse. A shiver worked through her body as his canines scraped against the skin of her shoulder.

Tempest dug her fingers into his hair, pulling him back to her. She brushed the tips of his ears. He growled and bucked before pulling back and stripping the last of his clothing away. This time, when he crawled back, he settled gently beside her. Pyre leaned closer and brushed his nose against hers once again, equal parts love and heat simmering in his eyes.

“You ready, love?” he rasped. “Ready to be mine?”

She rolled to face him and cupped his cheek. With a wicked smirk, she stretched upward to bite the edge of his ear. His hands tightened on her waist, a soft growl escaping him. Tempest draped her arms about his shoulders and when he rolled on top of her, she wrapped her legs around his waist.

She leaned back to meet his hot gaze and spoke the truth. “I’ve been yours longer than you know.”

He shuddered and brushed a butterfly kiss against her lips before he pressed forward. Her spine arched, and tears gathered in her eyes.

“A minute of pain, for a lifetime of pleasure,” Pyre promised. He kissed her tears away before lacing their fingers together and pinning her wrists above her head. “This is forever,” he gasped against her throat.

“Forever,” Tempest agreed. She bared her neck and smiled as he cursed beneath his breath before he moved. Her eyes closed of their own accord and lights danced behind her eyelids.

Damn. This is why women fell into sin.

  “Look at me,” Pyre growled.

She forced her eyes open and stared up into his chiseled face as their bodies moved as one.

“You’re mine now,” he bit out. “Mine.”

Heat flashed through her body at his claiming.

  His.

Yes, she was his. Irrevocably his now and forever.

  “Yours,” she breathed.

His lips crushed hers, fierce and possessive. She gave up on thinking and sank into the love and passion her mate offered.
