Ice Creams at Emerald Cove: A heartwarming feel-good romantic comedy to escape with this summer

He grinned and opened his hand, holding out the ring. It was a beautiful emerald, fastened to the ring by a curl of tiny diamonds. ‘I’ve been carrying this ring with me on every trip here for the last two years. I was never brave enough to use it before. I love you, Skye Philips, and I always have. You have given me everything I ever wanted and I don’t mean a job or another child – although I’ll always be eternally grateful for those – but you loved me when I didn’t even love myself.’
Skye smiled. ‘You’ve very easy to love.’
‘Will you marry me?’
‘Absolutely,’ she said and he slid the ring onto her finger. It fitted perfectly, sparkling in the light.
‘And this time we’ll get married in Emerald Cove,’ Jesse said. ‘I’m thinking a sunset wedding.’
She let out an involuntary squeal of excitement. They were going to get married again and this time it would be forever. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him hard. He shuffled closer and rolled her slightly so she was on her side, then hooked her leg over his hip and, without taking his lips off hers, slid deep inside her. She moaned against his lips as he moved his hand round her back and pulled her in tighter.
She pulled back slightly to look at him, stroking his face. ‘I’ve been proposed to four times in my life. This one was definitely the best.’
His eyes were soft with affection for her as he continued to move slowly against her. ‘Why is that?’
She giggled. ‘Because it ended in sex.’
He laughed, the vibrations of his laughter travelling through her body causing wonderful feelings to bubble inside her. ‘Oh now I see, you’re only marrying me for sex.’
‘I’m marrying you because I love you with everything I have,’ Skye said and he moved to kiss her but she stopped him, with a finger on his lips. ‘But sex is definitely a bonus.’
He kissed her, smiling against her mouth as that glorious feeling started to spread to every fibre of her body.
Outside the storm raged on, loud rumbles of thunder and rain lashing against the windows. She smiled as she knew she was safe here in his arms. He was her haven. She could put down her anchor because, with him, she was home.

A letter from Holly
Thank you so much for reading Ice Creams at Emerald Cove, I had so much fun creating this story and revisiting the beautiful Jewel Island. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. If you did enjoy it, and want to keep up-to-date with all my latest releases, just Sign up here. Your email will never be shared and you can unsubscribe at any time.
One of the best parts of writing comes from seeing the reaction from readers. Did it make you smile or laugh, did it make you cry, hopefully happy tears? Did you fall in love with Skye, Jesse and Bea as much as I did? Did you like the gorgeous little Jewel Island? If you enjoyed the story, I would absolutely love it if you could leave a short review on Amazon. Getting feedback from readers is amazing and it also helps to persuade other readers to pick up one of my books for the first time. You can leave a review here.
My next book, out in March, is called Sunlight over Crystal Sands. It’s the fourth book in the Jewel Island Series and follows two new arrivals on Jewel Island, Lyra and Nix. You can order a copy here.
Thank you for reading.
Love Holly x
