I stand by patiently until she’s done shoveling the dirt into Henri’s grave. I will not ask Chloe to take her life, nor will I see it forfeit because she’s done all I need her to do for the moment.
I will take her with me back to my church and I will care for her until she’s able to come to terms with the betrayal she’s just experienced at the hands of someone who so falsely proclaimed love for her. I will wait for her to become a semblance of the woman I came across in the discotheque, and when that moment finally arrives, I’ll take her into the Catacombs of Paris and give her one final task.
She will cleanse herself of her past life and all of her boorish ways, or she will never find her way back out into the light.
A fitting punishment for the crime she committed against me, but she will also learn a valuable lesson. I will show her what it’s like to be pious and subservient.
After all; monsters should never see how wonderful the world can truly be if they only seek to destroy the souls of those that inhabit it.
