“Because I have my own damn plan!” Raven was tired of explaining herself. “I got this! So let me handle it!” She turned to walk out the door but Deon grabbed her again.
“You playing too close, Vee! I told you to just keep doing you and let me handle it!” Deon told her.
“Let you handle it? While you over here taking your time, handling things, Treach is possibly getting ready to prostitute me and my only friends! He’s already got Kaitlin. Fuck what you are talking about! This is MY life and my friends’ life!” Raven ripped away from him once again. Deon had never heard her talk like that before and almost didn’t recognize his sister.
He didn’t say anything which was Raven’s que to walk out, slamming the door. He grunted in frustration, afraid of what his sister was doing. He knew he couldn’t make too much of a scene with his dad being home, but this shit wasn’t over.
She grabbed the house phone and paged the girls to meet at the shack later that day to devise a plan.
EVA
Angel, Tori and I decided to eat breakfast at a local mom and pops spot called Harrys. Harrys was pretty intimate and small. I liked going there for their pancakes.
“Can you believe all this money we made? I gotta get a job,” Victoria announced. She almost seemed unbothered that we just witnessed several murders. Angel was quiet, barely touching her omelet she ordered.
“Shhhh,” I told Tori. “Talk about something else. Anything,” I looked around at the people too buried in their food to care about anything we were talking about.
“Seriously,” Angel agreed.
“Well, I’m glad we chose this place instead of Duncan Donuts,” Victoria shrugged.
“You okay?” I turned to Angel.
“Yeah, I’m good,” she told me, not convincing us. I took a sip of my orange juice and noticed a familiar face walk through the front door. The little bell chimed as my eyes gazed over Professor Heart’s face and I noticed him holding a girls hand. My heart stopped for a brief second when I noticed it was Nicole and then it raced in anger. He didn’t even look my way. The young hostess smiled, giving them menus and guided them towards our way. Victoria and Angel were talking amongst each other and my eyes grew red with rage. I knew they knew nothing of my relations with him and I hated that I couldn’t show them the horror that I was seeing. I shuffled in my seat and my mind raced in milliseconds on what I should do. Confront him and risk the girls knowing? Look away as if I didn’t see them? Too late, his eyes met mine and so did hers. She smirked and he swallowed hard in embarrassment. I couldn’t hide my anger. I wanted an explanation but I remained silent. They walked past me into a nearby booth.
“Hey, isn’t that your Biology teacher?” Victoria pointed out. “What the hell is he doing with her? She’s in my English class,” Victoria gossiped. I turned around into my seat as I watched them settle into their booth. Nicole looked my way still with a smirk and began reading off the menu. She scooted closer to him and he looked my way as well. I got up and walked quickly to the bathroom to contain myself. I scooted past someone leaving and went straight towards the sink. I splashed water on my face and patted it dry with a paper towel. I looked in the mirror at my flustered face and adjusted my clothes. That son of a bitch! What is he even doing with her? And out in the open all willy nilly?
Then, Nicole entered the bathroom. I was pretty sure she followed me on purpose. I stared at her as she came and washed her hands next to me. Fuck this.
I headed towards the door to go confront him.
“Did you think he wanted a relationship with you?” She blurted out. I stopped in my tracks and turned around, knowing that I would probably have to slap a bitch this morning. “You can’t have him, you know,” she turned to me, drying her hands. I noticed how unpleasantly cute she was. Her big brown eyes and curly hair were her good features. Her faded black tee and old jeans showed she had no fashion sense, though. Her ears weren’t even pierced. She was plain and I couldn’t help but wonder what he saw in her.
“Well, lucky for you, I don’t want him,” I lied and turned back towards the door.
“Oh yes you do! I saw how you looked at us when we walked in. It was all over your face,” she smiled. I stopped again in my tracks.
I chuckled. “The same looks you gave us when he was tonguing me in the library or when he was trying to give it to me in the classroom the day you walked in?” I sarcastically reminded her. She was about to push a button. The look on her face told me I had already pushed hers.
“He loves me,” Nicole’s mouth trembled.
Was she really about to cry? I laughed.
“Uh huh, sure, crazy bitch,” I walked away.
“That’s why he stopped talking to you!” She stepped in front of me as I tried to exit.
“Is that what he told you? I cut HIM off, Bitch,” I pointed my manicured finger in her face and then shoved her to the side to leave.
The button was definitely pushed as she then grabbed my long hair and pulled me back.
“He loves me!” She shouted. I screeched, grabbing her hands on my hair as she pulled me backwards. I struggled twisting around to face her. She wasn’t letting go.
“Bitch, let go of me!” I yelled at her, now pushing her towards one of the stalls. She slipped a little, losing her balance and her grip on my hair. I punched the shit out of her stomach as soon as I got free, causing her to grunt and hold her stomach. I then kicked the shit out of her in the same area making her fall back onto the handicap rail.
“You’re fucking crazy!” I yelled at her, straightening myself and finally leaving the bathroom before someone walked in. A couple people looked at me stunned when I walked out, knowing that something was happening in the bathroom but no one bothered to care enough to check it out. People were still chatting and eating. I walked quickly up to the girls.
“What were you doing, shitting?” Victoria joked.
“I’m going home,” I told them, grabbing some money out of my bag and throwing it on the table.
“What? Why? We were about to see if you wanted to go shopping. Spend some of this money,” Victoria asked, confused. I looked behind me at Professor Heart, who was staring over at me curiously.
“I’ll catch up with y’all,” I hurled my bag over my shoulder.
“Aight. Oh, Raven paged us to meet, too,” Victoria quickly told me.
“You okay?” Angel sensed the intensity in me exiting. I did one last upset glance at Professor Heart.
“Yeah, I’ll get up with y’all later,” I told them walking off. I prepared myself to see Nicole walk out of the bathroom but she never did.
ANGEL
I could have done retail therapy with Victoria, but I really needed some other kind of therapy at that moment. My feelings were everywhere. We were witnesses to multiple murders, I had a wad of cash on me that I would never be able to explain, my parents hated each other, and I was the apple of our enemies eye. I wanted to break down and cry.
I knocked on Sam’s door, hoping he was home but was ready to talk myself into leaving. He opened the door shirtless with white basketball shorts on and socks. He looked as if he had just rolled out of bed.
“Angel?” He asked, looking behind me as if I was with someone.
“Hey, Sam, can we talk?” I asked him still ready to leave if he told me to.
“What time is it?” he opened the door more for me.
“Can I come in?” I could feel the difference between the heat from his house and the cold morning chill.
“Yeah,” he opened the door all the way for me to enter, still looking at me confused. “You want something to drink?” He asked me.
“No, I just came from breakfast with Tori and Eva,” I followed him to his room and closed it behind me.
“Sorry about the mess, I wasn’t expecting anybody,” he referred to his clothes spread out everywhere and old fast food bags lingering on his nightstand. He picked up a red shirt off the ground and threw it on.
“Sam, I
am so sorry for running out on you like that the other night, I don’t know what’s gotten into me,” I looked at him, hoping he’d be forgiving. He leaned his back on his bedroom door. I didn’t like the look on his face.
“Are you okay, Angel? Like really?” He folded his arms. I tried my hardest not to let out a tear.
“I think it’s just this whole thing with my parents has me all weird,” I told him, sitting on his bed. I knew my parents were probably the bottom of the issue, but I could never tell him what was really going on. The last thing I needed was him judging me. He walked over to me and sat beside me.
“Is it okay if I touch you or are you going to freak out on me again?” He put his hands up and smiled. I managed to faintly laugh.
“Yes,” I smiled as he wrapped his arms around me and hugged me. I laid my head on his chest and closed my eyes.
“Of course I forgive you,” he told me. I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders and it felt good to be held. Too good. I looked up at him and kissed him without warning. He looked back at me and grinned. I kissed him again but this time longer and more passionately. I didn’t push him away when he put his arms around me and then caressed my face. We kissed harder, not coming up for air at all. I let him lay me back onto his bed as he hovered on top of me. He kissed my bottom lip and then my top. I was flustered, hot, and anxious all at once. I felt his bulge in his basketball shorts caress my leg. He kissed me as if he had done this before. He ran his tongue over my neck and cheek, then ears and back to my neck. I was in pure ecstasy. I felt like I was dreaming. I took his shirt off, pulling it over his head and shyly went for his shorts.
“You sure?” He asked. I don’t know why I was surprised by the question but I guess I thought my actions made it perfectly clear, I wanted him. I wasn’t sure if it was because I was really feeling Sam or if it came from all the drama that I was going through. For once, maybe I could let out a little bit of tension. I bit my lip and nodded my head. He wasted no time kissing me again ,this time more excited. I pulled his shorts down and giggled like a little girl. He laughed.
“Have you done this before?” I asked him as he took off my sweater for me.
“Once,” he told me.
“Wait, you’re not a virgin?” I was turned on even more.
“No,” he smiled. “Is that a problem?” He asked, unbuttoning my jeans.
“No,” I hesitated, but I let him continue. He slightly picked me up moving me further onto his bed, kissing my neck and ears. He nibbled on my ear lobe and then pulled my pants off of me now revealing my white boy shorts that matched my white bra. He kissed my belly button and around my thighs. I giggled even more, but the rush excited me. His kisses were delicate. Not rushed. Sam was a natural and I couldn’t help but think he had to have done this more than once. He slid my boy shorts to the side and his tongue created waves of lust up my spine. My world spun as he worked his magic below causing me to squeal.
“Shhh,” he laughed at me. “My parents aren’t here but I don’t know when they will be home,” he told me, turning me on even more.
“Sorry,” I smiled. He continued caressing me below with so much intimacy and fire that I lost control and yelled out as I orgasmed.
“Holy shit!” I laid there out of breath. He lifted his head and smiled at me. My legs shook and I could barely feel myself. I laughed in satisfaction and I could tell he knew I was. “Where did you learn to do that?”
Sam just grinned and crept up to me kissing my stomach again and neck.
“Do you want more?” He asked me. My eyes lit up with excitement and adventure. I didn’t and couldn’t look at Sam the same way anymore.
“More as in?” I smirked. He leaned over to his dresser and dug around until he pulled out a condom. I was satisfied already but now the thought of actual sex excited me more. I grabbed his head and kissed him, tonguing him down and letting him return to kissing me on my neck. I was ready for whatever miracle he was getting ready to perform on my body next.
“You’re so beautiful, Angel,” he looked me up and down and kissed me again.
CHAPTER 27
The freezing cold filled the shack like smoke in a room. The girls were all huddled in their spots by a made fire discussing the events of that weekend. Each of them all had something to say and neither of them getting a word in.
“Quiet! Shit!” Raven silenced the girls. “Look, we can keep discussing Big Willy or move on to the bigger picture. Treach.” Raven stood up off the wooden stool she was sitting on and walked the floor like a school teacher.
“Raven, man, why didn’t you just let them kill him?” Eva pleaded, wrapped up in a fuzzy red blanket and sitting on a wooden crate.
“Because, EVE, I didn’t plan on DJ and Nine being apart of it!” Raven confessed.
“Who cares! They are all on Team Treach! Remember?!” Eva yelled.
“I know that!” Raven yelled back but she was really yelling at herself. She couldn’t confess to the girls that she had a soft spot for DJ. She couldn’t even explain it to her damn self, let alone, them.
“Look, man, Treach just showed me his new and exclusive money spot and he wants me and DJ to help run it,” she added.
“What?” Victoria looked at Raven like she was stupid. Angel shook her head in disagreement.
“Oh, you musta fell and bumped your damn head,” Eva frowned.
“Listen to me, I am going to get in with Treach. So then, he won’t think to look my way when I kill his ass,” Raven’s lips curled and it half way creeped the girls out.
“Vee, just cus you killed somebody don’t mean you should just be out here assassinating people,” Victoria told her. She was sitting on an old crate, wrapped in a blanket that she stood up from to make her point more clear.
“Treach isn’t just people,” Angel added. They all looked at her. She shifted underneath her blanket. She didn’t like the situation they were in nor was she feeling the fact that Raven had murdered someone and she witnessed it, but Treach was all of their enemy.
“What are you saying, Angie? You in?” Raven asked, surprised.
“Whatever needs to be done,” Angel swallowed hard.
“Okay, okay!” Raven slapped her hands and turned to Victoria and Eva.
“Fine,” Victoria rolled her eyes and sat back down.
“So, what’s this plan?” Eva gave in. Suddenly, a knock startled all of them but Raven.
“Who is that?” Victoria stood up ready.
“Chill,” Raven put her hand up and went to open the door. Kaitlin stood there in a white hoodie and white sweatpants, her hair covered by the hood.
“Kaitlin?” Victoria looked at Eva who shrugged.
“Hey, come in,” Raven told her.
“Why are you here?” Eva asked her, afraid of what this meet up was going to come to.
“I asked her to come,” Raven answered for her.
“Hey,” Kaitlin gave a faint wave and joined Raven by her side on the floor.
“Kaitlin explained to me that Lila didn’t have any plans for us. So, at least we know we aren’t being prostituted to her. Doesn’t mean he isn’t, though,” Raven said. “Seems to me Treach has bigger plans than that, bigger deliveries, maybe a bigger supply. I don’t know yet. But Treach is messy and if he can’t even protect his own life, how he finna protect ours? Big Willy could’ve easily gotten his hands on us that night.” Raven’s mind shifted on Treach and his boys about to get their brains blown out. She would have hated to see DJ go down like that. She wished that he wasn’t in the way.
“Kaitlin is gonna help us, she is gonna keep her eyes out for any bullshit. Only thing we need to make sure of is we aren’t on his list of hoes,” Raven added.

Raven walked into the kitchen and stopped when she met Deon pouring him a glass of juice. They locked eyes and she rolled hers and prepared to walk back out.
“Vee, hol’ up,” he sat the carton of Orange Juice down, leaving his glass half empty. She ignor
ed him and walked quickly to her room. Deon was beginning to bug her and at this point, this was deeper than him now and she just wished he’d let her handle it.
“I said hol’ up!” He grabbed her arm.
“Wassup, D?!” She turned around nostrils flared ready to give Deon whatever he was trying to dish at her.
“Come here,” he pulled her into his room where they had stopped in front of. Deon was fully aware that no matter what he’d say to her, that her mind was made up. He knew that the only way to stay close to Raven and protect her was to play along and work with her.
“Sit,” he pointed to her bed.
“Where’s dad?” She asked, taking a seat on his half made up full size bed.
“I don’t know. Listen, Vee, I know shit ain’t been easy. And I’m sorry for pressuring you as much as I do. I am only trying to protect you,” he stood over her.
“I know this, D,” she slightly pushed him on to get to the point.
“So whatever it is you need from me, I got your back,” he told her. She gave him an unsure look and then smiled.
“You mean that?” She asked. She didn’t know Deon to give up on anything, but maybe now all he wanted to do was be there for his baby sister.
Deon nodded. “Whatever you wanna do, I want in on. I want to take this nigga down.”
Raven shook her head in agreement. She knew she would be able to accomplish this now that her brother had her back. But she was also relieved that she didn’t have to hide anything from him. Her dad, on the other hand, would be another issue.
VICTORIA
I walked up to Lance at the River park with a small Gucci bag in my hand. I had picked up a little something for him while I was out shopping for the sexy green sweater dress I was wearing. I had actually only spent $40 on the dress and $20 on the brown boots I got to match at this small girly store called HeatWave.
Lance sat on the park bench and didn’t even notice me, but I noticed him dressed in an all black sweater, Pea-coat, jeans and surprisingly some all black Jordan 13 Retros. I watched him gaze over the park, people watching and he didn’t even know he was being watched himself. I crept up behind him and wrapped my arms around him.
