Witchy Warning

“Dating etiquette 101 is that there be no guns, no knives, and no spells,” Margo said.
“I'm not carrying weapons, but he probably is. If I need a knife, I’ll use my steak knife, and well, as far as spells, it’s a moot point considering Carson knows his fair share.”
“Point taken,” Margo said as the SUV pulled up.
I’d taken a step when Tess’s words stopped me. “Make him work for it.”
I rolled my eyes at her before Carson ever reached the porch. He was dressed in black dress pants and a blue button-down shirt that matched his eyes. He made my heart flutter.
“You look beautiful,” he said, holding my gaze.
“You’re not so bad yourself,” I answered as he held out his elbow for me to take in true gentleman fashion. I’d never dated a gentleman.
He took my hand and placed it where it should go.
“Get her home by curfew,” Tess called out as he led me down the porch stairs.
“Ignore her,” I said, resting my hand over his heart after he opened the SUV door for me. “We have all night.”
“We’ve got longer than that.” He winked, releasing my hand and cupping my cheek. He whispered the spell that stopped the world around us, putting everything into slow motion, as he lowered his head and pressed his lips to mine.
“I’m going to like having my own personal 5-0,” I whispered against his lips.
He pressed one more tender kiss against my lips before opening my door and waiting for me to get seated. Carson rounded the SUV and climbed in behind the wheel. He glanced at me and grinned as he turned the ignition. “Buckle up, Georgia. You’re in for one hell of ride.”
The door lock clicked, making me a prisoner again. I grinned.
The End
Thank you for taking the time to read Georgia’s book, and here’s a sneak peek at Margo’s book, the other Hexford sister.
Here’s A Sneak Peek Of Book 5
Margo
A week later, Tess returned from her vacation and I had returned with Theo empty-handed from our hunt for another spell book. After everything that went down with Georgia, I knew it was only a matter of time before death found me if I didn’t find it first. That was why my sisters and I were all at the antique store. Aunt Blythe had mentioned to Georgia about secrets hidden somewhere in the shop.
“Georgia, judging by the building blueprints, it looks like there should be a door right here,” I said, standing in the antique stores office. I lowered the plans and sighed.
“Maybe it got sealed up?” Tess offered.
“Maybe.” I started moving things off the bookshelf.
“You can’t honestly think there’s a secret passage, Margo,” Georgia muttered with her hand on her hip.
“Doesn’t hurt to check,” I said. Tess helped me clear the entire shelf other than one knickknack, which wouldn’t budge. A music box.
I lifted the lid, and our mouths parted when not one but three figurines dressed like witches turned in place, chanting a spell to the playing melody.
The bricks in the wall next to the bookshelf creaked as the wall moved and slid out of place.
“It was hiding in plain sight,” I whispered, pulling out my cell phone. I turned on the light and walked into the opening to find stairs. Above my head was a light cord dangling, which I yanked as I walked in.
“Be careful, Margo, there’s no telling what Mildred was hiding down there.”
That was true. I had no idea. We reached the bottom to find the basement empty.
“Maybe it’s spelled too?” I suggested.
“Mildred didn’t do anything easy,” Tess said, walking to the middle of the room and turning in place as if she might find a clue.
“Maybe it’s nothing but the epicenter of town like Aunt Blythe told you, Georgia,” I said, swiping the dusty floor with my foot. Something was written in the concrete. I ran back upstairs and grabbed a broom and swept the dirt and grime away, revealing a single sentence on the floor. I whispered the words, reading it to myself, and the once vacant room appeared furnished before our eyes.
In the center of the room was a stand with a book similar, if not identical, to our family grimoire, only much bigger and older. Lavish furnishings filled the space from rugs hanging on the wall with the intricate Hexford family design to a bookshelf on one wall filled with leather-bound volumes. On another wall was a shelf containing jars filled with herbs and other things. The third wall held some type of map of a tunnel system, which wasn’t labeled. It was the fourth wall that we were all staring at, the fourth wall that left us speechless. A symbol was painted on it. A symbol we all knew well. It was the same one I’d painted and the same one found at Georgia’s mother’s crime scene.
