Stranded: The Cole Mountain Brothers Romance Book 1

He fell to the ground like a ton of bricks. I held my neck trying to catch my breath.
“You’re dead!”
I mustered up enough strength and kicked him in the face.
“Fuck you!” I yelled.
I hauled ass out of the restroom. I didn’t look back. My bus pulled into the station in the nick of time. I ran up the steps and gave my bus ticket to the driver. Once I was secure in a seat in the back of the bus, I peeked out of the window. That fucker hobbled out of the rest stop. He scanned the station. Luckily, he couldn’t see me through the tinted bus window. I ran my hand over my throbbing neck.
“Destination Cole Mountain,” the bus driver announced.
“Finally, I was leaving South Carolina. I was orphan. Never knew what real love felt like. My foster families abused me. I was just a meal ticket for them. The moment I turned eighteen I was on my own. However, I couldn’t find a decent job, so I lived on the streets. I hoped to gain a fresh start in Cole Mountain.

Two days later, I arrived in Cole Mountain. I couldn’t stop grinning as I exited the bus. The postcards didn’t do this place justice. I ran my hands down the front of my dingy, yellow cotton dress. I tugged the black sweater tight around my neck as the cold air whipped through my body. My smile vanished. I remembered I had enough money for a motel room for a couple of nights. I didn’t have enough money to purchase winter clothes. I owned the dress I was wearing, three pairs of jeans, three T-shirts, one sweater, and a runover pair of black ballerina flats. The small town bustled on a Saturday afternoon. Family’s strolled down the snow-covered sidewalks and gazed into festive shop windows. I stepped into the largest shop on the block. There were beautiful pink, red and blue ski jackets hanging on the wall.
“May I help you?”
I sighed and ran my fingers through my copper locks. Ok, Anastasia just smile and be polite. I turned in the direction of the deep voice.
I gasped at the sight of the handsome mountain man towering over me.
“Asher, I found two more boxes of jackets in the back room.”
I glanced at the man walking toward us who was identical to the sexy man standing before me.
I was at a loss for words. Anastasia say something. You can’t stare forever. Yes, I can.
“Were you interested in the pink ski jacket? It would look good on you. Honestly, anything would look good on you. Don’t you agree, Alex?”
He dropped the boxes and stepped over. “You must have just arrived in Cole Mountain. Let me guess. You are from a warm state and forgot to bring a jacket. “
Asher folded his burly arms across his broad chest. “We carry an abundance of jackets and coats. Tourists often roll into town dressed in shorts and T-shirts this time of year.” He flashed his gorgeous smile.
My eyes darted between the two hot mountain men. “I was just looking. Thank you.”
I scurried toward the door.
“You don’t have to rush out into the cold. Stay awhile,” Alex stated.
“Yeah, stay,” said Asher.
I turned and gazed into their green eyes.
“I promise we don’t bite.” Asher flashed a devilish smile.
Unless you want us to.” The corner of Alex’s lip turned upward.
Their eyes roamed my body. I wasn’t cold anymore. A flush of heat ran through my body. My core was drenched at the thought of these two sexy men taking my body.
I shook off the dirty thoughts and squeezed my eyes shut. “I have to go.” I turned on my heels and exited the store.
