“Ancestor, the artifact is in place,” Nox replied via Mental-message transmission in an elated manner.

“Good work. We’ll be arriving soon,” Liam said via Mental-message transmission and a smile appeared on his face. He had been chasing the Oblivion Demon in a manner to force him to flee towards the Nine Demon Forest. From the start he’d been controlling the direction in which the Oblivion Demon was fleeing.

Soon Liam and the Oblivion Demon entered Nine Demon Forest. After entering a little deeper into it, powerful fluctuations occurred in the skies above Nine Demon Forest which stunned the Oblivion Demon. A powerful barrier quickly covered the entirety of Nine Demon Forest, thereby trapping the Oblivion Demon.

“Let’s see where you can run now,” Liam said with an evil smile as he transformed back to his original self as the barrier around the Nine Demon Forest started to contract and further decrease the space in which the Oblivion Demon could dodge around.

The Oblivion Demon also stopped running and transformed back to his original self, and he gave Liam a deep look.

“You are over-rating yourself! I wasn’t running, because I was scared of you! I was healing the injuries I’d received earlier from that Energy projection,” the Oblivion Demon said with a maniacal laugh and his body started to shine as he conjured an Oblivion Domain. The entire world around Liam turned blood-red.

Liam’s expression changed drastically as he experienced the Oblivion Domain first hand. It also suppressed his Cultivation Level by a very high degree, so he couldn’t use his entire might. The fact that he didn’t have the ability to conjure a Domain really frustrated him.

Demons, unlike humans, can’t learn to conjure a Domain even if they try their very best. They learn to conjure a Domain by default the moment their bloodline purity reaches High-grade. Liam currently had Mid-grade bloodline purity so he lacked the ability to conjure one.

At that moment, a few thousand demons appeared next to Liam including Nox and all the other Demon Faction Heads who had the ability to conjure Domains. They immediately conjured their Domains and fused them together to create a Fusion Domain to resist the effects of the Oblivion Domain, but the next moment their expressions drastically changed – the Fusion Domain disappeared!

“Just to let you know: the last time I deliberately let the Fusion Domain clash with mine, as I wanted to test my Domain’s power. My Domain has an ability which ensures that no demon can conjure his or her domain within it,” the Oblivion Demon said with an evil laugh, which scared the shit out of Liam and company as they took a combat stance. They all had very bad feelings at that moment.

The Oblivion Demon turned into a blur and then appeared next to the Faction Head of the Dark World Sect, who was standing at just a little distance from Liam and grabbed him by his neck. The next moment a Blood-red fog enveloped the hand of the Oblivion Demon holding the Faction Head of the Dark World Sect and he was devoured within the blink of an eye. He wasn’t able to resist in even the slightest to save himself and Liam was unable to react in time to save him. All this made Liam and company scared stiff. The speed of the Oblivion Demon wasn’t something Liam and others could compete with in the Oblivion Domain.

“You guys have no chance against me, so how about we strike a deal. Just give me that kid and I promise that I won’t wipe out the Demon race from the face of Grandura. I have been around for million years, but I never over ate. You can see that for yourself since the Demon race is thriving on Demon Continent. That bastard in the Green Highlands forced me to come out. If it wasn’t for him, those powerful demons from the Divine Universe wouldn’t be coming to Grandura and I wouldn’t be forced to quickly increase my strength,” the Oblivion Demon said with a grin, as now he had the upper hand in the fight.

Demons with a Cultivation Level of God Realm could easily sense his existence anywhere on Grandura and he’d been dead within minutes of their arrival. The Main branches of the different Grandura factions would only send God Realm Demons in extremely rare cases, but the last time one of them had come to Grandura was a few tens of millions of years previously. Most times, a demon with a Cultivation Level in the early realms of Celestial Realm was sent, as sending a God Realm Demon to Grandura was more or less pointless. Celestial Realm Demons could easily handle problems on Grandura. Consequently, the Oblivion Demon had been able to live a peaceful life until now.

“Why do you specifically want Noah?” Liam asked as he looked at the Oblivion Demon with disgust, though he knew the answer to his question. He was doing this to buy time, so he could undo a seal within his body.

“I don’t what you intend by asking a question whose answer you already know but I will still answer it, so the demons by your side understand the consequences of refusing me. The demons from the Divine Universe will most likely come to Grandura in a week’s time. Since I don’t want to die, I have only two choices: eat your little prince or devour the entire demon population of Grandura. I will then be able to ascend to the Divine Universe and escape death,” the Oblivion Demon said as he flashed a nasty grin and his sharp teeth.

Liam and the others looked at the Oblivion Demon in alarm, as they could tell that he was not joking with them. He might literally wipe out the Demon race from the face of Grandura. They could tell that he was already a Late Immortal Saint Realm being and only needed to condense a few Celestial runes before he could escape from Grandura.

Liam knew that the number of demons the Oblivion Demon needed to devour so it could condense a few Celestial runes was simply unimaginable, and even after devouring the entire demon population, it was not guaranteed that he could take that final step. Lucas had also failed at that step. The situation would be entirely different, if the Oblivion Demon was to devour Noah. It could then easily condense the Celestial runes required so it could escape from Grandura.

Liam knew that this abdominal being in front of him couldn’t be allowed to escape from Grandura, even if they had to make sure that Noah was killed and his body was destroyed.

“Rashmi, if I am unable to take the Oblivion Demon down with me, you must kill Noah and destroy his body. If the Oblivion Demon devours Noah, then it will have the strength to escape from Grandura. We can’t let that happen,” Liam sent a chilling Mental-message transmission to Rashmi.

Oblivion Demons have caused wide-spread disaster for the Demon race since ancient times, so they are hated by the entire Demon race. If the Oblivion Demon devoured Noah and escaped from Grandura then the Twilight Demon Kingdom would be branded as traitors of the Demon race for not taking necessary steps to avoid it like getting rid of Noah.

“Let’s see if you have the strength to do so,” Liam roared at the top of his voice and he was covered in terrifying and sinister purple-colored flames. The Oblivion Demon’s expression changed drastically. He hadn’t expected Liam to possess such a powerful Evil flame.

Liam had just unsealed the Evil flame within his body. The flames around his body soon transformed into a Fiery purple lizard following which they became even more fierce. The lizard was just a few meters long, but it possessed an indomitable aura. The lizard looked at the Oblivion Demon with hungry eyes which scared the Oblivion Demon a little.

Liam had been avoiding using his Evil flame, because it harmed him whenever he used it. If he did ever use it at its full power, he would turn into ashes within a few minutes – which meant he couldn’t unleash its full power. The limited power of the Evil flame that he’d unleashed made his power rise drastically, but by doing so he was in tremendous pain from the burning sensation he felt throughout his entire body. At that moment he felt as if his entire body had been pushed into a raging inferno.

Liam had absorbed a very terrifying Evil flame which his body didn’t have the ability to absorb without external help. If not for the help that he’d received from a powerful God Realm Demon, Liam would have died when he’d tried to absorb it.

The God Realm Demon had sealed the Evil flame within Liam’s body. Liam was supposed to
slowly and steadily convert the flame into his own power, but even after thousands of years, he was still a long way from converting it into his own power.

“Hiss!” the Fiery purple lizard hissed and started to release a powerful aura that immediately assaulted the Oblivion Domain. The Oblivion Domain started to distort and huge cracks appeared in it. The Barrier that had been erected by Nox and the rest also got destroyed in the process.

“Escape!!” Liam sent a Mental-message transmission to Nox and company. They immediately took Liam’s offer and escaped the Oblivion Domain through the cracks.

The Oblivion Demon didn’t even try to stop them from escaping, as he could feel his life was in peril for the second time since he’d evolved into an Oblivion Demon – the first time having been against Barong’s Energy projection.

“Let’s see if you have the ability to laugh now,” Liam said as he charged at the Oblivion Demon with the Fiery purple lizard flying alongside him. Liam was currently not using his Evil flame at full power as he wanted to engage the Oblivion Demon for the longest possible time – if possible until the demons in the God Realm arrived on Grandura. He knew that if he died after unleashing the full power of his Evil flame and the Oblivion Demon somehow survived, the Demon race on Grandura would perish.

Nox and company reunited with the rest of the Immortal Realm demons and looked at Liam with deep veneration. At this moment they just hoped that the help from their Main branches would arrive on Grandura in time, otherwise Liam’s sacrifice would go in vain.

Herman and Heron were currently seated in the Secret chamber within Herman’s house. They had stunned expressions, as they’d just received reports of the annihilation of the Main branch of the Calamity Sect. They’d also just come to know from one of their sources that the Main branch of the Calamity Sect had become a subsidiary faction of the Silver Oak Sect. This news was known to most factions of the Divine Universe, but Heron and Herman had only just found out about it, as they hadn’t been keeping tabs on the news from the outside world for quite some time. They knew it had something to do with their father even though they knew that Archdevil Shera was the one who’d annihilated the Main branch of the Calamity Sect. The timing of the annihilation was just too much of a coincidence.

“I’d never suspected that Calamity Sect had become a subsidiary of Silver Oak Sect. No wonder they’d become so arrogant,” Heron said with a look of disbelief.

“But they are no more. This will at least calm down the situation on Grandura. The activities of the Grandura branch of the Calamity Sect against our Grandura branches might also reduce drastically the moment they come to know about the annihilation of their sect’s Main branch. According to what I inferred from the things that Sheldon told us, the Grandura branch of the Calamity Sect was the glue keeping the Star Alliance together. Since the Main branch of the Calamity Sect is now gone, the Star Alliance might break apart!” Herman said with a smile on his face. The reason the other factions had joined the Star Alliance was due to the strength of the Main branch of the Calamity Sect and the fact that it had become a subsidiary of the Silver Oak Sect.

“Yeah. We should quickly send this information to Sheldon and the other kids,” Heron said in a jubilant manner.

Herman nodded his head and quickly sent a Mental-message transmission to Sheldon via his Galactic mental-message transmission orb.

  Ch.8

Rashmi was currently in her room and had a despondent expression. She had just received Liam’s Mental message transmission about killing her darling son with her own hands. Her heart had become extremely uneasy as she looked at little Noah in her arms. She couldn’t help but cuddle him tightly. Noah was her first child and Liam’s dictate to kill him with her own hands had shaken her entire being.

“Mother. How is Grandpa Liam doing in the battle?” Noah asked in a concerned manner as he looked at his mother’s face anxiously. He had never seen such an expression on her face before.

“I think he is going to be fine,” Rashmi said, as her eyes became red and tears started to flow down her cheeks.

“Mother, I am still telling you that we should go and ask for help from that demon within the valley of Green Highlands. Grandpa Liam is no match for that fiend,” Noah pleaded with teary eyes. He could tell that his Grandpa Liam was not fine from his mother’s reaction.

Rashmi’s expression suddenly changed, as she listened to Noah. She looked at Noah intently for a few minutes.

“Noah are you certain the demon in the valley of Green Highlands is not an Oblivion Demon,” Rashmi asked. She couldn’t think of any other way to save the life of her little boy and she wanted to anyhow save his life.

“I am certain Mother. That demon’s aura is completely different from the Oblivion Demon’s,” Noah said confidently.

“Let’s go and meet that demon,” Rashmi said with a determined expression. A smile appeared on Noah’s face and he wiped his eyes of tears. He would finally meet that demon! He’d been longing to meet it since the first time he’d felt a connection with it.

Rashmi opened a Teleportation portal in her room and disappeared into it – and a number of maids came rushing into the room soon after she’d gone.

“Where did the Queen go?” a maid couldn’t help but ask.

“No idea!” the Head maid Shelina said as she quickly took out her Mental-message transmission orb. She had to inform Nox about Rashmi leaving the Royal Palace on her own with Noah.

Nox and company were currently watching the raging battle taking place between Liam and the Oblivion Demon from the outskirts of Nine Demon Forest. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that they were scared at that moment. The level of battle had already surpassed their imagination.

The entire Nine Demon Forest had turned into a ragging inferno under Liam’s relentless attack but he was still unable to kill the Oblivion Demon. The heat from Liam’s Purple flames that covered the entire Nine Demon Forest had increased its temperature by millions of degrees, which Nox and company had no ability to withstand, so they’d moved outside Nine Demon Forest to watch the battle from safety.

One thing was clear to them: they stood no chance against the Oblivion Demon. Liam was their only line of defense against him. Earlier, they’d assumed that they could at least resist the Oblivion Demon for a few days if the entire Demon race joined hands, but they’d just been naïve.

Liam was still not unleashing the full power of his Evil flame, as he was not sure he could kill the Oblivion Demon even with that, and he himself would die within a few minutes. He had no choice but to drag the battle on between them for a few days until help came from the Main branches of the different factions. Liam could already feel his life force depleting at a tremendous pace, due to which he had started to age.

The Oblivion Demon had taken a defensive position as he received the barrage of attacks from the Purple Fiery lizard and Liam. He was in immense pain and his entire body was burnt black. He was only alive due to his terrifying regenerative abilities. At this moment he wanted to flee but knew that Liam would never allow it.

“You should never have tried to attack my Twilight Demon Kingdom. I will make you regret it,” Liam roared as a fist that was covered in Purple flames struck the Oblivion Demon’s face and sent him flying towards the ground. His entire body was engulfed in Purple flames after taking Liam’s punch, so he looked like a meteor as he flew towards the ground.

  Boom!

A terrifying explosion occurred when the Oblivion Demon smashed into the ground creating a crater that was a few kilometers deep and spread over an area of ten square kilometers. The force associated with Liam’s punch can be imagined!

“Arghh!” a roar came from the bottom of the crater as the Oblivion Demon flew out of it. He was in a mangled state but suddenly his entire body was covered in Baleful aura and the next moment his entire body had healed!

The Oblivion Demon looked at Liam with a bloodt
hirsty expression.

“You’ve forced me to use the souls of the demons that I had previously devoured to increase my power! I will devour you and then the entire Demon race!” the Oblivion Demon roared as he charged at Liam. His Baleful aura started to spread at a horrific pace in all direction and started to extinguish Liam’s Purple flames, which shocked Liam.

An Oblivion Demon needs to devour an enormous number of demons before it is able to advance to the next sub-realm or Realm of the Martial Path. The blood of those demons is used to nourish and strengthen its body, while their souls are used to advance its Cultivation Level. The souls of the demons aren’t absorbed by the Oblivion Demon until it has devoured a sufficient number of them to advance its Cultivation Level. The souls of the demons remain stored within its body until it has accumulated enough of them.

The Oblivion Demon was angry as he’d had to burn the souls that he had accumulated for condensing Celestial runes, just so he could fight Liam. The number of demons on Grandura was now insufficient for him for condensing Celestial runes so he could advance in the short time of a few days. He had no choice now but to devour Noah and the entire Demon race so he could condense Celestial runes to advance and thus escape from Grandura to save his life.

Liam took a deep breath as he unleashed a little bit more of the might of his Evil flame at that moment, which again increased his strength and power by a notch. He immediately suffered from severe burns to his entire body. He was in extreme pain and the condition of his body was rapidly deteriorating with each passing minute. He knew that he could not last for more than a day or two, so he had to deal with the Oblivion Demon before his time ran out.

The size of the Purple Fiery lizard hovering beside him also increased by a few meters and its aura became far stronger. It looked even more ferocious than before.
