Heron, Herman, and other powerful humans of that time then decided to seal away Devil King Cherub. The location for sealing him became a point of discord amongst the different human factions and affected the unity between them. None of them wanted such a dangerous being within their territory. If by chance Devil King Cherub were to escape in the future, their faction would be the first to take the hit.

On seeing that, Heron decided to seal Devil King Cherub under Heavenly City. Over millions of years the Devil race had time and again tried to free Devil King Cherub on numerous occasions by attacking Heavenly City, but they were repelled by the combined efforts of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan, Eternity Family Clan and numerous other human factions.

None of the human factions wanted Devil King Cherub to see daylight. He’d condensed the required number of Celestial runes to ascend to the Divine Universe long ago, so he could ascend to the Divine Universe the moment he was released from the seal. That was something none of the human factions wanted, because of his terrifying potential and talent. It wouldn’t take long before he would be able to endanger the Main branches of the different human factions of Grandura.

The higher-ups of the Main branches of all the human factions knew that Devil King Cherub wouldn’t let them off for sealing him for millions of years. He would definitely come for them if he gained sufficient strength to annihilate them. This was also the reason why all the human factions of Grandura kept a tab on the activities of the different Devil Kings on a regular basis – especially the Heaven Sundering Family Clan as their Heavenly City had been a long-time target of the Devil race.

“We can’t release Devil King Cherub, but we will try to rescue them. Other Ancestor Level Martial Artists and I will carry out the rescue operation,” Lukas said with a bloodthirsty expression.

“Can’t the Ancestors from the Main branch make a move,” one of the parents couldn’t help but ask. She was certain that if Sheldon and company were to make a move their children would certainly be saved.

“If the Ancestors make a move then the followers of Archdevil Mundus will also make a move and things will get out of hand,” Lukas said with an ugly expression.

“Who is Archdevil Mundus?” Blasius and other parents asked in unison. They’d never heard that name before, but they knew what an Archdevil was, which alarmed them.

Lukas looked at Blasius and the other parents for a second before he sighed. He’d decided to tell them some confidential information, which only the top leaderships of the different factions of Grandura knew about.

“He is a very powerful Archdevil that controls a number of the Divine Worlds in Hell. After Devil King Cherub was enslaved and sealed by the human factions, a few devils of Grandura were able to become followers of Archdevil Mundus after ascending to the Divine Universe. They were able to get Archdevil Mundus to declare his support for the devils of Grandura. That was the most dangerous time for human factions on Grandura. If the human factions hadn’t already established their Main branches in the Divine Universe then all Grandura would have been under the rule of devils and demons,” Lukas said gravely. Blasius and rest of the parents were looking at Lukas with unblinking eyes.

“The founders of our two factions and of other human factions went to ask for help from the Divine Organization. The Divine Organization is the oldest and one of the most powerful human factions of the Divine Universe. It had a very bad relationship with Archdevil Mundus, so it immediately agreed to help the human factions of Grandura,” Lukas started to explain.

“We don’t know what happened between the Divine Organization and Archdevil Mundus, but the latter didn’t send his powerful followers to Grandura in order to take it over and turn it into a world of devils and demons. It was clear that Archdevil Mundus didn’t want to war with the Divine Organization over a small matter,” he continued.

“Mundus then declared that he would personally destroy any faction that sent members with a Cultivation Level above Immortal Realm to attack Raksha Continent. The Divine Organization also told us to abide by that rule too,” Lukas paused with a somewhat aggrieved expression, which further pushed Blasius and other parents into an endless abyss of grief and sorrow.

“Archdevil Mundus didn’t stop at just warning the human factions. He even deployed a few of his followers with Cultivation Levels above Immortal Realm to protect the Devil race of Grandura. That showed the importance he gave to the devils of Grandura,” Lukas added.

“His followers will only make a move if beings of other races with Cultivation Levels above Immortal Realm attack Raksha Continent, or if the Devil race on Grandura faces complete annihilation at the hands of other races. This has made sure that devils thrive on Grandura and never have to fear being attacked by the Main branch of any faction, even if that faction’s Grandura branch is annihilated by them!” Lukas ended bitterly.

Blasius and the other parents just nodded their heads. They finally understood why human factions were unable to wipe the devils from the face of Grandura.

“Can’t Ancestors from the Main branch quietly sneak in to save our children without anyone detecting them?” one of the parents couldn’t help but ask. His words immediately lightened the spirits of the other parents, as they felt that this plan was feasible.

“That is also not possible. Ancestor Sheldon and others would be detected by the followers of Archdevil Mundus, as they have an artifact specifically for detecting Human Martial Artists with a Cultivation Level above Immortal Realm,” Lukas said as he gently shook his head.

The expressions of Blasius and the other parents once again became funereal.

“Please have some faith in us! We will try our utmost to save them at any cost,” Lukas said with a determined expression.

Blasius and other parents could just nod their heads as these words from Lukas gave them strength and some hope that they could see their children again. If Lukas and the other Ancestor Level Martial Artists went to rescue them, there was still a chance for Shawn and company to escape their terrifying ordeal.

“Can I share this news with my wife and daughter?” Blasius asked, as he was unable to lie to Emilia and Alexis anymore. The other parents were also in a similar position.

“Devil King Abaddon has already announced to the world that he has captured Shawn and company, so they are bound to find out about it sooner or later, so it won’t matter anymore if you share this news with them,” Lukas said with deep understanding.

Blasius and the other parents left for their homes soon afterwards. They wanted to let their families know about this situation at the earliest.

Soon Blasius reached his estate. He no longer kept up the façade that he’d been maintaining for the past few days. Emilia and Alexis didn’t come to receive him this time at the front door as they were both in Closed-door Cultivation sessions, so Blasius entered the estate and directly headed towards the living room.

“Quickly come to the living room,” Blasius sent a Mental-message transmission to Alexis and Emilia the moment he entered and then sat on one of the armchairs.

Alexis and Emilia opened their eyes simultaneously in their respective Cultivation chambers the moment they received Blasius’s Mental-message transmission. They could tell that something was not right and quickly headed to the living room. They had sudden changes in expression when they entered and saw Blasius crying like a little kid.

“Dear, what’s happened?” Alexis asked in a worried tone as she and Emilia took the chairs near him. Emilia also had a worried expression, as she knew her father quite well: he was the not the type to cry even in the toughest of situations.

“We might never see Shawn, Shane, Aldo, Aulus and Philo again,” Blasius said without hiding anything from them.

“What??!!” Alexis and Emilia said in unison as they too had drastic changes in their facial expressions.

“They were on a secret mission to spy on Devil King Abaddon and ...” Blasius started to narrate the entire matter to them without hold
ing anything back. Since it had all become public. it wasn’t long before they would come to know about it anyway.

The eyes of Alexis and Emilia turned moist as Blasius told them everything in detail and not long after that Alexis started to cry while tears welled up in Emilia’s eyes.

“Father, I will personally make a visit to Raksha Continent,” Emilia said as she wiped her tears with a determined expression. She would go to any lengths to save her younger brothers.

“Don’t throw your life away unnecessarily!” Blasius said in a stern voice as he wiped his tears. There was a very high chance that he would lose his sons and he had no intention of losing his only daughter too.

“But ...” Emilia wanted to protest but she got an angry glare from Blasius which made her shut up.

“Let Grand Elder Lukas and other Ancestor Level Martial Artists do the needful. If you do anything, you might cause unnecessary problems,” Blasius said as tears flowed down his cheeks.

“Emilia, listen to your father,” Alexis said as she wiped her tears. She didn’t want Emilia to do anything that might endanger her life as well as her brothers. Emilia was in the end only an Immortal Lord Realm Martial Artist. She couldn’t match the Ancestor Level Martial Artists in terms of the strength or intellect required to deal with such matters.

Emilia had to agree with her mother which made her calm down and think about the entire matter more thoroughly, but she couldn’t help but feel great frustration at being weak and soon tears started to flow down her eyes just as they were for Alexis.

  --------------------------x--------------------------

The mother, father and daughter trio cried while Ryan almost became mad in anger after the wraiths of the Black Bead Necklace in Emilia’s possession informed him about the things that had happened to his uncles.

“Arghhhhhhh!” Ryan roared in anger. His body started to emit large quantities of Baleful aura and his Asura eyes activated. He looked no different from a Demon King at that moment.

“Ryan!!!” an angry shout from Yama shook Ryan mentally and he quickly came to his senses.

The upheaval in Ryan’s heart was so great that it was felt by all his Soul beings, Lachesis, Enkil and Death Sword. All of them were startled by the raging emotions they felt from Ryan, as they’d never felt that from him before. Lachesis and Enkil had been living peacefully inside their respective Vector tattoos since Ryan exited the Treasure Space. They spent most of their time devouring the Death Elemental Energy inside their Vector tattoos and their strength had been slowly and steadily surging with each passing day. It wouldn’t be long before their Cultivation Levels surged to Mid Mortal Emperor Realm from Early Mortal Emperor Realm.

Tondenth who was physically closest to Ryan appeared outside his cave in the next few moments. Ryan walked up to him as tears welled up in his eyes and his spine tingled with fear every time he thought of his uncles.

“Roar!” Tondenth gave a gentle roar as he mentally asked Ryan what the matter was. He looked at Ryan in a concerned manner. It was not just him – Thorn, Caius, Isa, Lachesis, Enkil and Izet were all asking Ryan in concern via Mental-message transmissions what was making his emotions go into such an upheaval. Death Sword had already been filled in with the details by Earl after he woke up.

Caius was currently not by Ryan’s side, as he’d gone out for a stroll through Starlight Forest since Ryan had no need for him to be by his side.

Ryan wiped his tears and quickly told them everything and asked them to stay on stand-by to help him save his uncles and their fellow teammates.

“Roar!!!” Tondenth gave a gentle roar to show his readiness.

“Thanks,” Ryan said with a slight smile.

Ryan got similar responses from rest of his Soul beings, as they also readily agreed to Ryan’s proposition. He thanked them and warmth surged in his heart on seeing how good his Soul beings were to him.

“Death Sword, are you in a condition to take care of the followers of Archdevil Mundus?” Ryan asked as he started to plan how to save his uncles and their fellow team-members. He was thinking of killing Devil King Abaddon and the followers of Archdevil Mundus for harming his uncles.

Death Sword answered gravely, “Master, don’t worry about them. I can deal with them, but it is better to do things covertly. Archdevil Mundus is one of the oldest Archdevils in the Divine Universe – even my former Master was weaker than him by a very large margin. It’s best if we just concentrate on saving your uncles instead of killing Devil King Abaddon or the followers of Archdevil Mundus, as that might trigger a reaction from Archdevil Mundus.”

After a pause, Death Sword continued, “I think Isa would be the best candidate for it. He will be able to save your uncles without anyone knowing about it.”

Ryan’s expression turned ugly under the half mask upon hearing Death Sword’s words before he just sighed again in helplessness. Ryan hadn’t removed his mask even once after coming to Starlight Forest because of the promise he’d made his mother.

“Wouldn’t it cause a big problem if my uncles and their fellow team-members mysteriously disappeared from the prison? They are bound to think that it was most likely done by Grandpa Sheldon and other the Grandpas from the Main branch,” Ryan asked as he realized that Isa’s making a move was bound to cause such a situation.

“Master, all Isa has to do is release his Demon energy after saving your uncles. That will make the followers of Archdevil Mundus think it was the work of some demon. Archdevil Mundus won’t retaliate against the demons of Grandura as long as no devil dies. There is an ancient agreement between the Demon race and the Devil race which forbids the members of both races from killing each other if there is no blood feud. Archdevil Mundus will never break that agreement as that would have wide ranging consequences for the unity of the Demon and Devil races,” Death Sword said with relish. Ryan sighed with relief on hearing this from Death Sword.

“We will go according to Death Sword’s plan,” Ryan said to his Martial Spirits and Death Sword.

“The followers of Archdevil Mundus will be able to sense Isa, if they are anywhere near the Unholy City,” Earl cautioned earnestly.

“Master, in my current condition I can make sure that no one will be able to sense you and two of your other Soul beings for some time. If Isa is fast, he will be able to bring your uncles and their fellow team-members to safety before any devil realizes it,” Death Sword said with confidence. Ryan and his Martial Spirits also felt that might work.

“I will call Isa here,” Ryan said as he sent a Mental-message transmission to Isa informing about the plan. Isa readily agreed to it and asked Ryan to summon him.

Ryan’s entire body was covered in runes following which a Spatial rift opened in the sky above him and Isa flew out of it with a smile on his face. Tondenth looked at Isa in a welcoming manner.

“Isa, this is Tondenth,” Ryan quickly introduced Tondenth to Isa, as this was the first time they’d met each other.

“Hello, let’s get along from now onwards,” Isa said in a friendly manner and Tondenth transmitted similar intentions to Isa mentally.

“Tondenth, can you reduce your size and erase your presence?” Ryan asked thoughtfully. He had decided to also take Tondenth with him. He wanted to take him as a precaution if things went south.

“Roar!!” Tondenth gave a low roar as he could understand Ryan intentions. The next moment Tondenth became as small as Ryan’s fist and completely erased his presence. He flew onto Ryan head and sat on it comfortably. A smile appeared on Ryan’s face. He then informed his other Soul beings about the plan that Death Sword had come up with for saving his uncles and their fellow team-members.

“Let’s head to Raksha Continent,” Ryan said in a determined voice as Isa opened a Teleportation portal using a Teleportation scroll to Raksha Continent following which Ryan, Isa and Tondenth disappeared into it.

  Ch.12

The streets of Sunshine City were crowded as it was the day of the auction and everyo
ne was heading to the Celestial Auction House. Victor and company were no different. Three more people had joined them, Eadgar, Sheila and a man by the name of Marius. Marius was the Head of the Third branch of the Eternity Family Clan. The reason these three had been sent was to do with a situation that had occurred the previous day.

Nerva and one of the Elders of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan had gone out to the market in Sunshine City. They’d been ambushed by a few masked men when they’d gone to check the stuff inside one of the stores. They’d almost died, except that one of them had a number of Life-saving charms. The masked men killed themselves the moment the Law Enforcement Officials of Sunshine City reached the store and the Law Enforcement Officials were unable to discover anything about their identity from their belongings.

Nerva and the Elder quickly returned to the others and informed them about it. Victor and company were certain it was the doing of the Star Alliance but lacked evidence for accusing them.

The news of the attack on Nerva and the Elder from the Heaven Sundering Family Clan quickly spread throughout Sunshine City like a rapid fire, as nothing similar had ever happened before.

Celestial Auction House issued a simple warning after the incident that it wouldn’t tolerate anyone breaking the Laws of Sunshine City but the security within the city was tightened a lot and deterred the members of any faction that had joined Star Alliance from making a move on Victor and company while they were in Sunshine City. If by any chance one of their assassins was captured alive, it would only mean trouble for them: most likely their factions would be barred from any auctions in the future.

Even though the security within Sunshine City had been increased, Nero and Rudolf sent Eadgar, Sheila and Marius whose strengths could even rival Victor and Nerva’s to make sure there were no repeat incidents. Those three had had a lot of experience in dealing with similar situations.
