  Soon Eadgar and company reached the Celestial Auction House, which was grandiose in every possible sense. It was a six-story building spread over an area of two square kilometers whose walls were covered in precious stones. Anyone could tell that it was not a normal structure but a Spatial Attribute artifact from the Spatial Energy fluctuations released by it.

  The Celestial Auction House provided private booths to all the factions of Grandura irrespective of their strength, which ensured that their identities remained a secret. This allowed the factions to bid without restraint.

  Eadgar and company joined the long queue to enter and after a half an hour they were able to get in. They could feel Spatial Elemental Laws around them the moment they entered the doors of the building and then they were immediately teleported to the private booth allotted to them. It was huge and had a glass window along the front side faced with a number of seats.

  The expressions of a few Elders who’d come for the first time to the Celestial Auction House changed drastically the moment they saw the scene on the other side of the glass window. First of all, they saw the stage where the auction was to take place and secondly, the thousands of booths like theirs hovering around the stage.

  “The independent space within the Celestial Auction House is enormous,” Nerva said.

  “The Main branch of the Celestial Auction House is quite a powerful entity of the Divine Universe so that is to be expected,” Victor said nonchalantly. The rest of the people in the booth couldn’t help but nod their heads as they took their seats.

  “The Heads have told us to get anything useful, but we also have to keep in mind saving enough funds to get the Death Reversing Lotus,” Victor said as he looked at the stage in front of him. Everyone nodded their heads and started to talk amongst themselves since there was still time before the auction was to start.

  In a dark chamber a group of men and women were tied to the walls with enchanted chains, which had been specially forged for restraining Martial Artists. The men and women attached to the chains were unable to even blink their eyes because of the chains’ restraining ability. If Ryan had been there, he would have easily recognized his uncles amongst the chained men. Shawn and company hadn’t been tortured but everyone had leaden expressions, as they knew that their ends wouldn’t be good once the one-month time limit ended.

  A group of devils with green scales covering their bodies were guarding them. They were Lizard Devils, which are humanoid devils of Poison Attribute. They are a weaker species of Devil, though their poisons shouldn’t be underestimated.

  None of Lizard Devils looked with pity at Shawn and company – in their eyes they were no different from cattle. If not for their being part of the Heaven Sundering and Eternity Family Clans, they would have devoured them already. Human flesh is considered a delicacy by Demons and Devils and Martial Artist flesh is considered a tonic. Demons and Devils also use different body-parts of Human Martial Artists for making pills.

  Those pills are extremely effective for Demons and Devils. Their effectiveness depends on the Cultivation Level of the Human Martial Artists whose body-parts were used to concoct them. This ensures that Demons and Devils continue hunting Human Martial Artists whenever they get an opportunity. Similarly, human factions use the body-parts of Demons and Devils to make pills. These facts ensure that there will never be peace between the two sides.

  “Sir, can I have one bite of that girl? She looks extremely delicious,” a devil name Aaro asked as he drooled, as he looked at one of Shawn’s female companions. The other devils guarding Shawn and company had similar desires as Aaro, but they didn’t show it on their faces as they were scared of their leaders, unlike Aaro.

  “We can’t until the one-month time limit ends!” another Lizard Devil said in an angry tone. His name was Zeno and he was the leader of the devils in charge of guarding Shawn and company.

  “It is a torture to be in the same chamber as such tasty-looking humans and not being able to taste them!” Aaro said in frustration and all the other devils agreed with him deep down.

  “The humans will be making a move soon, so we need to concentrate on doing our duty and guarding these humans efficiently,” Zeno replied angrily. He had more information, unlike the Aaro and the other guards, because of his position as team leader, so it was natural that he better understood the situation.

  “What do you mean Leader?” Aaro couldn’t help but ask.

  “The Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan will attack the capital soon,” Zeno said angrily as he looked at Aaro.

  “You know, if the members of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan somehow reach here, we won’t have a good end if they are at all harmed,” a Lizard Devil guard said with some fear.

  “Those bastards from the Heaven Sundering Family Clan will never be able to reach here since this prison is directly underneath the palace of our King. They could only come here by killing everyone in the palace, which I don’t think is possible given the strength of our King,” another Lizard Devil guard said with extreme confidence. His words immediately increased the moral of all the lizard guards. Zeno and the other guards continued discussing the Heaven Sundering and Eternity Family Clans, as they had nothing to do to pass time other than that.

  Zeno and company had no idea that they were being secretly watched by their King and Queen from the Royal Chamber.

  “Those guys sure are funny,” a deviless said with a slight grin on her face. She was the wife of Devil King Abaddon and named Rose. She and her husband were seating next to each other on the sofa inside their chamber watching the screen in front of them which showed what was happening inside the dungeon where Shawn and company were imprisoned.

  Rose was an Underworld Devil and looked exactly like women of the Human race except for her violet skin. Underworld Devils are one of the strongest species of devils and are famed for their ability to turn the beings they kill into zombies.

  A zombie is a kind of Undead creature that is really a walking corpse. Zombies are well known for their extremely strong physique and physical attacks, the strength of which is like the strength of their living selves. The zombies created by Underworld Devils are unable to cultivate or increase their strength at all, unlike the ones that come into existence naturally. The cultivation of the ones that come into existence naturally increases over time, as long as they have an ample amount of Death Attribute Energy to devour.

  Underworld Devils are able to control the zombies created by them efficiently. The number they can create depends on their bloodline purity. Rose had High-grade bloodline purity, so she had thousands of zombies under her control.

  “Their worries aren’t without foundation. Heaven Sundering Family Clan and Eternity Family Clan have existed for more than five hundred million years and they also have their Main branches in the Divine Universe, so underestimating them is not a good thing,” Devil King Abaddon said decisively.

  Devil King Abaddon was a Star Devil. Star Devils are an extremely rare kind of Devil and one of the very strongest species of the Devil race. They can absorb the power of the countless stars in the sky to strengthen themselves. It is said that Star Devils with a Cultivation Level in God Realm devour stars in order to increase their strength.

  “Are you not over-thinking? What can those fellows from those measly human factions do to harm us? We have already set an elaborate trap for them. They will definitely die if they come anywhere near the capital,” Rose said in a bewitching manner as she gently kissed the lips of Devil King Abaddon.

  “I feel that everything will proceed smoothly since you are by my side,” Devil King Abaddon said with smile, as she took Rose in his arms and headed towards the bed in their chamber. Rose couldn’t help but laugh seductively on hearing those words from him. Devil King Abaddon always felt at peace when his wife was by his side. Even the approaching problem didn’t seem big to him
now.

  A Teleportation portal opened in a dense forest. Isa, Tondenth and Ryan came out of it with Tondenth still seated on Ryan’s head. Unholy City was about fifty kilometers away.

  Ryan looked around the surroundings with astonishment. Raksha Continent was completely different from the continent inhabited by humans. The sky was covered by very dense black clouds which made sure that sunlight didn’t shine on it. The vegetation of the forest was also quite different from the usual: it possessed black and red leaves instead of green leaves which made it look quite creepy.

  “Master, I don’t sense any followers of Archdevil Mundus in the capital or anywhere near-by. Isa should be able to save your uncles and their team members without any trouble,” Death Sword said as he scanned the capital and the area surrounding it with his powerful Divine sense.

  “Isa, the followers of Archdevil Mundus aren’t in the capital or anywhere near it?” Ryan asked in an urgent tone. Isa nodded his head as he turned into a blur and disappeared from his spot and headed straight towards the city.

  Unholy City gave off an extremely evil vibe. It was being protected by a blood-red barrier. All the building in it were made of the bones of powerful beings. The entire city was brimming with devils, that were fully armed ready for combat and patiently waiting for the Martial Artists from the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan to strike. The entire city was no different from an impenetrable fortress at that moment.

  Devil King Abaddon had made all these elaborate preparations thinking that the ones who would come for Shawn and company would be humans. He never dreamt even in his dreams that a demon would strike his capital and destroy his plans in one go.

  Isa had already found the location of the chamber where Shawn and company were imprisoned and was standing in front of it. He was invisible and lacked presence, akin to a ghost at that moment. He had turned invisible and erased his presence right before entering the confines of the capital. He was looking at the gate of the chamber with a troubled expression. It had extremely profound runes etched on it and he was certain that there would be similar runes on the chamber’s walls too. Isa could tell at a glance that they were meant to trigger some sort of alarm that would alert the devil who’d etched them, if anyone forced entry into the chamber.

  “It seems to be the work of one of the followers of Archdevil Mundus,” Isa thought to himself.

  “Master, I have come across a problem,” Isa said in a frustrated manner via Mental-message transmission.

  “What’s happened?” Ryan asked in alarm.

  “It’s like this …” and Isa quickly explained the entire matter to Ryan via Mental-message transmission.

  “Ryan, let me out,” Death Sword said. Ryan readily agreed and quickly brought him out of his Soul World.

  “Ask Isa to break into the chamber and escape with your uncles and I will cover his back,” Death Sword said as he disappeared from Ryan’s hand.

  “Isa just enter the chamber without delay. Death Sword will handle the rest of the things,” Ryan said via Mental-message transmission.

  “Yes Master,” Isa said via Mental-message transmission as the sides of his mouth curled upwards. He walked up to the gate of the chamber and the next moment the gate turned to dust. Isa then walked into the chamber. A siren went off and the entire capital was alarmed, as everyone knew the significance of that siren.

  Zeno and company were startled to see the gate destroyed but soon fearful expressions appeared on their faces as they were unable to see who’d caused that. Since Isa had turned invisible and erased his presence, it was natural that they would react like that. Zeno and company were scared stiff when they saw the chains binding Shawn and company suddenly break, as they were supposed to kill them before anyone could save them.

  Shawn and company were also stunned, but they disappeared from the chamber even before they could react in any way at all.

  Devil King Abaddon and his wife Rose watched the screen showing the happenings within the chamber with disbelief.

  “What the fuck’s just happened?!” Rose said with an incredulous expression, but suddenly a powerful shock wave made of Demon Energy reverberated throughout the capital, which made the expressions of all the devils change drastically.

  “This is the work of a demon, one with a Cultivation Level beyond Immortal Realm,” Devil King Abaddon said with a look of disbelief, as he was unable to understand why such a powerful demon would help the Heaven Sundering and Eternity Family Clans.

  A Teleportation portal opened in the sky above the capital of Devil King Abaddon and three figures flew out of it. They were wrapped in dense Baleful aura making it impossible for anyone to see their features. Knowledge about the three figures immediately spread across the entire capital and brought joy to the faces of Devil King Abaddon and his wife Rose. The reactions of the other devils inside the capital were no different.

  But then …

  “Arghhhh!!!!”

  “Arghhhhh!!!”

  “Arghhhhhh!!”

  Painful shrieks resounded in the entire capital which made the faces of all the devils turn pale, especially those of Devil King Abaddon and his wife. The shrieks came from the three followers of Archdevil Mundus from high up in the sky and the next moment they smashed into the palace of Devil King Abaddon.

  “Boom!!!!”

  The force with which the followers of Archdevil Mundus smashed into the palace resounded throughout the Unholy City.

  Devil King Abaddon and his wife Rose were fast enough to escape the palace, so they were able to avoid injuries but the devils that worked as servants in the palace weren’t so lucky. All of them received severe injuries but none died.

  Devil King Abaddon and Rose looked at the huge crater that had replaced their majestic palace with totally dumbfounded expressions. They were unable to believe what they were seeing in front of their eyes.

  “Abaddon!!!” a feeble voice came from one of the craters.

  “My Lord!!!” Devil King Abaddon immediately regained his composure and flew towards the crater. He instructed his wife to get the Devil Pond ready for them so they could recover from their injuries.

  The expression of Devil King Abaddon turned pale when he saw the condition of the three followers of Archdevil Mundus. They had thousands of sword cuts on their bodies and though none of them were capable of threatening their lives, that many sword cuts were enough to make them undergo extreme pain. Devil King Abaddon waved his hand and the three followers of Archdevil Mundus were wrapped in his Elemental Energy. He then flew out of the crater along with them to the Devil pond.

  Rose had already gotten the Devil Pond ready for the followers of Archdevil Mundus. A number of devils were soaking in it, so she quickly made them leave. The Devil Pond contains liquified Devil Energy, which helps devils recover from injuries at an alarming rate. Devil Ponds are naturally formed in areas where large numbers of devils live.

  Devil King Abaddon arrived within a few minutes with the followers of Archdevil Mundus and threw them into the Devil Pond. The liquified Devil Energy quickly covered them and started to heal them.

  “Did the Lords tell you anything about the identity of the attacker?” Rose asked via Mental-message transmission.

  “No,” Devil King Abaddon said hopelessly via Mental-message transmission.

  The news about the followers of Archdevil Mundus being beaten brutally by a Demon quickly spread throughout Unholy City and it was only a matter of time before it spread over the entire Raksha Continent.

  In the meantime, Ryan had already returned to Starlight Forest along with Death Sword and Tondenth. Isa, on the other hand, had gone to drop Ryan’s uncles and their teammates in Heavenly Forest. Ryan had thanked Tondenth, Death Sword and Isa a lot for saving his uncles and their teammates. He also informed his other Soul beings about it and they were e
xtremely happy for him.

  Ryan and Tondenth soon returned to cultivating Elemental Laws in their usual places. Death Sword entered a deep sleep-state, while Isa was dropping Shawn and company in Heavenly Forest.

  Shawn and his teammates had dazed expressions as they looked at the familiar forest around them. They were having a hard time believing the scene in front of their eyes.

  “Did those devils trap us in some kind of illusion?” Shawn asked in a somewhat alarmed manner. His brothers and other teammates were alarmed upon hearing that.

  “I don’t think so. I possess an Illusion-resistant physique, so it is impossible to trap me in illusions. It is true that we have returned home,” a young woman said as she started to cry tears of joy. Her words immediately made Shawn and the rest remember about her Illusion-resistant physique. They couldn’t help but sigh with relief before jubilant smiles appeared on their faces too. They immediately took off into the sky and flew towards Heavenly City at their top speeds. They wanted to meet their family members at the very earliest.

  Ch.13

  A huge uproar occurred at the sudden arrival of Shawn and company at Heavenly City, as the news about them being the kidnapped by Devil King Abaddon was already known to everyone. They were immediately called by the higher-ups of the Family Clan and questioned thoroughly, but the answers from Shawn and company baffled them even more. In the end, Shawn and company were allowed to return to their homes after making sure that they hadn’t been enslaved or trapped in some kind of illusion.

  They met their parents and other family members right outside the Main building of the Administrative Department – and were interrogated all over again.

  Alexis, Emilia and Blasius’s eyes immediately welled up with tears upon seeing Shawn and his brothers, who felt their hearts crushing when they saw the red eyes of Emilia, Alexis and Blasius.
