“My luck is truly great when it comes to Innate Abilities. This is the Innate Ability that fits the need of the hour given the current situation of my Fire fiends,” Ryan said in excitement.

The Innate Ability he’d gained from Earl allowed him to evolve his Fire-fiend Lords into Fire-fiend Tyrants. The bodily toughness and strength of the Fire-fiend Lord would increase dramatically after evolving into a Fire-fiend Tyrant. Most of the Innate Abilities possessed by Fire-fiend Tyrants were the same as what they’d possessed as Fire-fiend Lords, but the power displayed by them would now be manyfold greater than before.

This was an Innate Ability that a Heretical Fire Devil rarely used, as it required the Heretical Fire Devil to sacrifice a portion of his or her soul to evolve a Fire-fiend Lord into a Fire-fiend Tyrant, as doing that caused the Heretical Fire Devil to become extremely weak for the next few tens of thousands of years, and thus extremely vulnerable, until his or her soul recovered.

“This is a core Innate Ability of Heretical Fire Devils. It is popularly called Fire-fiend Tyrant Creation Innate Ability by the Devil race,” Earl said with enthusiasm.

“You should quickly evolve Amarok into one, so he can get used to being one before the opening of the Ancient Legacy Land,” Yama suggested and Ryan readily agreed.

Ryan quickly informed Amarok of his intentions. Amarok immediately agreed to it, as he was currently cultivating Death Elemental Laws in isolation from his pack members, so if he evolved into Fire-fiend Tyrant at that moment they wouldn’t realize it.

A portion of Ryan’s soul immediately disintegrated when he used the Fire-fiend Tyrant Creation Innate Ability, but his soul recovered instantly. Ryan couldn’t help but be stunned, even though it was the second time he’d seen his soul recover.

“He will evolve into a Fire-fiend Tyrant in a few days. I’d like to see how strong he becomes after that,” Ryan said with a smile. Ryan had decided not to evolve his other Fire-fiend Lords into Fire-fiend Tyrants, as they would be unable to change their fates of getting sealed even after evolving into Fire-fiend Tyrants.

Ryan continued to talk with his Martial Spirits for some time before he started preparing to refine his bones the same way he’d previously refined his skin.

In the Mortal Emperor Realm, a Martial Artist needs to refine his or her bones to advance the cultivation level of its Soul Core. There are three stages in Bone Refinement. The first stage is called High Mortal Bones and after attaining that stage, a Martial Artist’s Soul Core advances to Mid Mortal Emperor Realm. The second stage is called Pseudo Immortal Bones and after attaining that stage, a Martial Artist’s Soul Core advances to Mid Mortal Emperor Realm. The third stage is called Immortal Bones and after attaining it, the Martial Artist’s Soul Core advances to Early Mortal Sage Realm.

A Martial Artist can only refine his bones, if his or her insights and understanding have already reached the threshold required to advance his or her Soul Core to the next sub-realms of the Mortal Emperor Realm in the case of the first two stages of Bone refinement, and Early Mortal Sage Realm in the case of the third stage of Bone refinement. Refining bones is quite like refining skin. A Martial Artist tempers his or her bones to strengthen them.

Martial Artists who possess more than one Soul Core only refine their bones once. All their Soul Cores advance to the higher sub-realms of the Mortal Emperor Realm after they attain the first two stages of Bone refinement, and the Early Mortal Sage Realm after attaining the third stage of Bone refinement. The only condition is that they possess sufficient insights in Elemental Laws of the attribute of their other Soul Cores and that their understanding in them has reached the threshold required for that sub-realm or Early Mortal Sage Realm.

Ryan started to refine his bones soon afterwards without wasting time, as he only had about two and a half months until the Ancient Legacy Land opened.

“This should be the last of the Fire fiends,” Devil Ross said to himself as he ripped apart a Fire fiend with his bare hands that was hidden in the thick vegetation of Eternal Forest on Dragon Head Continent. He couldn’t help but sigh with relief. His two companions by his side were no different.

“I never expected the followers of Archdevil Mundus to actually help us clean-up the doings of a fellow devil,” one of the Marital Artists from the Main branch of Red Sun Family Clan said in an insulting tone as he hovered in the sky. There were members of the Main branches of different factions of Grandura, excluding the demon factions and Righteous Bandit Group, hovering in the sky alongside him. They were also somewhat startled by the actions of Devil Ross and his companions.

The Martial Artists from the Main branch of the Righteous Bandit Group that had descended on Grandura were only concerned about their Grandura branch’s hideout. They left after rebuilding it, but this time it was far more durable than before. They were least concerned about Red Calamity on Grandura.

“If I were you, I’d be deeply worried at this moment,” Devil Ross said as he flashed his sharp teeth.

“What do you mean?” the Martial Artist from the Main branch of the Red Sun Family Clan said.

“That Heretical Fire Devil is most likely in the Divine Universe at this moment. So, I wouldn’t be shocked much if it attacked your faction’s Main branch or the Main branches of all the factions that are part of the Star Alliance in the future, given the deep hatred it has for your factions. All this while the Fire fiends didn’t attack any other faction or its members so long as they didn’t attack them. As for us helping you guys in purging Red Calamity, it had to do with us making sure that you tasty humans don’t go extinct on Grandura, which wouldn’t be good for the Devil race in the long run,” Devil Ross said as his smile became even more pronounced. He’d also started salivating as he looked at the Martial Artist from the Main branch of the Red Sun Family Clan.

The expressions of everyone present changed especially the members of the Main branches of all the factions that were part of the Star Alliance, as they knew that Devil Ross’s words weren’t without reason. As for the latter part of Devil Ross’s sentence about humans being tasty – it was ignored by most.

Devil Ross and his two companions quickly left after opening a Teleportation portal to Raksha Continent. The members of the Main branches of the different Grandura factions also started to leave for their Grandura branches soon after that, except for the members of the Main branches of the factions that were part of the Star Alliance.

“Don’t mind the words of Devil Ross. The SS grade and SSS grade human factions wouldn’t sit silently, if hordes of Fire fiends came to destroy the Main branches of your factions,” Leo said in a determined manner, once only the members of the Main branches of the factions that were part of the Star Alliance were left. His words immediately made the moods of everyone present better.

“I have a suggestion that will make you guys ecstatic,” Leo said with a mysterious smile. Everyone excluding the companions of Leo looked at him with great expectation.

“Let’s go and annihilate the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan,” Leo said with a devious smile. The expressions of everyone other than the members of Calamity Sect changed – which even stunned Leo and his companions.

“Lord Leo, it isn’t that we don’t wish to do that, but we received Mental-message transmissions from our Faction Head sometime yesterday telling us to avoid messing with the Grandura branches of those two family clans. My faction’s Grandura branch will also be leaving the Star Alliance,” one of the members of the Main branch of the Lightning Tundra Sect said with an apologetic face.

“Lord Leo, my Faction Head has also given such a dictate,” said another member of the Main branch of a faction that was part of the Star Alliance.

One by one the members of the Main branches of all the factions that had been part of the Star Alliance said something similar.

“Why?” Leo couldn’t help but ask
and his companions had a similar question in their minds.

“Lord Leo, we have no idea, but something must have happened in the Divine Universe,” Jovian said unsmilingly.

Leo and his surviving companions from the Main branch of the Calamity Sect could only nod their heads in understanding, following which everyone then returned to their respective Grandura branches, as there was no point in staying there anymore.

Right after his arrival back in Calamity Sect, Leo immediately started to use his old contacts to find out about the situation in the Divine Universe. He sent one of his companions, Ruo, to inform Ishan that the members of the Main branches of the factions that had been part of the Star Alliance refused to eradicate the Grandura branches of Heaven Sundering Family Clan.

He sent a Mental-message transmission to each one of his contacts asking them to tell him about the latest happenings in the Divine Universe. Leo and company hadn’t been keeping tabs on the news there, as the matters there didn’t concern them anymore until the day they could once again re-establish their Main branch in the Divine Universe.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that he was extremely worried at that moment. He personally knew the Faction Heads of the Main branches of the factions that had been part of Star Alliance. The hate they had for the Heaven Sundering and Eternity Family Clans wasn’t normal, so such a dictate from them wouldn’t be due to any normal circumstances.

  --------------------------x--------------------------

Ruo quickly arrived at Ishan’s Cultivation chamber and entered it as it wasn’t sealed. Ishan was reading a Martial Skill Manual and he put it aside the moment Ruo entered the chamber and looked at her in great expectation.

“Young Master, things didn’t go as we wanted,” Ruo said in a harsh tone. She then informed him about everything that happened in great detail.

“Did they give any reasons behind pulling their Grandura branches out of the Star Alliance?” Ishan asked with a pained expression.

“No, but something must have happened in the Divine Universe. Grand Elder Leo is on it, so we will come to know the reason soon,” Ruo said apologetically.

“You can leave,” Ishan said with a sigh as he took out his Galactic Mental-message transmission orb to contact the Silver Oak Sect to inform them about the disbanding of the Star Alliance and to ask about the reason for such a dictate from the heads of the Main branches of the factions that had been part of the Star Alliance.

  Ch.22

The Founder of the Dark Moon Family Clan, Kai, had a scared expression, as he was being taken to the Meeting Hall right after his arrival at the Silver Oak Sect. He was to meet Grand Elder Shyam of the Silver Oak Sect there. He’d received the summons from the Silver Oak Sect a few hours beforehand. He had no idea why he was being summonsed, but he didn’t dare to ignore it, otherwise his faction’s Main branch might come to an end within a matter of hours. He arrived at the Silver Oak Sect at the earliest.

“Grand Elder Shyam,” the Founder of the Dark Moon Family Clan said in a worried tone as he bowed his head upon entering the Meeting Hall.

“There is no need for such formalities. Please take a seat,” Shyam said with a smile.

Shyam had come to know from Ishan about the adverse effect of the Red Calamity on all the factions of the Star Alliance, except for the Grandura branches of the Calamity Sect and the Dark Moon Family Clan, and how they’d become useless in their cause. He, unlike Ishan and company, felt that they should first test whether those factions would still be involved in their cause after they’d recovered for a few years.

It was not long after that when he received another Mental-message transmission from Ishan that the Star Alliance had disbanded for unknown reasons. This left Shyam with no choice but to recruit the Dark Moon Family Clan. He couldn’t think of any other way to help Ishan and company in collecting resources on Grandura.

Shyam had thought of sending Immortal Realm Martial Artists from the sect to Grandura secretly to join the ranks of the Grandura branch of the Calamity Sect to help Ishan and company but shelved that idea as it would cause countless troubles. The different factions of Grandura roughly knew the strengths of each other and if they were to find something unexpected in the strength of the Grandura branch of the Calamity Sect, then they were bound to investigate the sudden rise in their strength – which was something the Silver Oak Sect didn’t want at all. He couldn’t even send them secretly to Grandura to collect resources for Ishan and company, as the chances of their cover being blown were extremely high given that they would have to clash with local Grandura factions. Any talented Divination Master could be able blow their cover. The local factions of Grandura were extremely united against intruders and it wouldn’t take long for all the Immortal Realm Martial Artists sent by him to be annihilated. He wouldn’t even be able to save them, as that would cause them even more trouble.

In frustration at one point of time, he’d even thought of taking over Grandura but shelved that idea almost instantly, since the different SSS factions of the Divine Universe would be intrigued and then bound to investigate the entire matter. This was something that the Silver Oak Sect didn’t want at all, as it might cause doom for Ishan and company as well as increase the competition for the Asura Bone sword.

“Kai, I know that you’ll have a lot of questions, but hear me out first. I am sure most of your question will be answered,” Shyam said with a smile.

Shyam quickly filled in Kai with details about the Asura Bone sword, the presence of Ishan and company on Grandura and the rest of the important particulars. Kai looked at Shyam with an alarmed expression when he heard it all. He knew that he would end up dead, if refused to comply with any of the requests Shyam made after he’d finished speaking. He could tell that the secrets Shyam had told him were most likely core secrets of the Silver Oak Sect.

“Grand Elder Shyam, it isn’t that my factions and I don’t want to serve the Silver Oak Sect but given the rumors around those two family clans, I am little scared about the safety of my faction,” Kai said hesitantly.

He now knew that the stance of the Calamity Sect in the Star Alliance to annihilate the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan had most likely originated from Ishan and company. He was certain that Shyam would ask him to deal with the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan by teaming up with the Calamity Sect now that the Star Alliance had been disbanded – but that was suicidal in his eyes.

The reason behind the disbanding of the Star Alliance was a rumor that had recently started to spread in the Divine Universe: Archdevil Shera had destroyed the Main branch of the Calamity Sect under the instructions of the backer of the Main branches of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan for messing with their Grandura branches. The Main branches of the factions that had been part of the Star Alliance immediately had their Grandura branches leave the Star Alliance, and also asked them to stop messing with the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering and Eternity Family Clans. Previously, they’d agreed to allow the Grandura branches of their factions to join the Star Alliance, only when they were certain that the Main branches of both those clans or their backer wouldn’t be able to get back at them given that the Silver Oak Sect was hunting them. That wasn’t the case anymore: they were very well able to get back at them – and instantly too!!!

The fact that Silver Oak Sect didn’t personally annihilate the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan even after this rumor made many believe in the rumor. Everyone knew how brutal the Silver Oak Sect was. In the past they’d killed billions of beings because of rumors, but that wasn’t the case anymore. It was clear that the Silver Oak Sect wasn’t daring enough to make any rash decisions in the case of the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering and Eternity Family Clans.

“Don’t worry! I am not going to ask you to create trouble for the Grandura branches of the Heaven
Sundering Family Clan or the Eternity Family Clan or anything similar until we know the identity of the one backing their Main branches,” Shyam said with a smile. He could tell what was going on in the mind of Kai to some extent. His words made Kai much more relaxed.

Shyam was extremely angry when he’d heard rumors pertaining to the annihilation of the Main branch of the Calamity Sect. He’d wanted to send an army of God Realm beings to eradicate the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan but stopped himself quickly before giving such an order, as he realized the consequences of doing so. If anyone from the Silver Oak Sect personally took action against the Grandura branches of those two family clans, then the freak that was secretly backing them might vent his or her anger on the entire Silver Oak Sect. Shyam and the other higher ups could already tell that the Paragon God cared for his descendants deeply and might go berserk if they did anything to them. An unknown Paragon God was the last thing that they wanted to piss off in their current circumstances.

He consulted with other higher-ups and it was decided to avoid messing with the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan until Ishan and company had retrieved the Asura Bone sword and ascended to the Divine Universe or they knew about the identity of the Paragon God behind them and found a way to deal with him or her. He’d already asked Ishan to avoid messing with the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering and Eternity Family Clans as that could jeopardize their plans. They could find out more about those weird wraiths and ghosts later on, since the Grandura branches of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan weren’t going anywhere.

If that Paragon God decided to investigate a little, it wouldn’t be odd if he or she found out about their entire plan. A Paragon God has numerous ways of reading the memories of individuals weaker than him or her.
