  Chapter One

  Sheik Omar Iben Shah

I sit nonchalantly while I stare at her. Despite not yet speaking to her, I know that I love her. Love at first sight wasn’t something I believed in but all that changed when I saw her. One glance at her thick ass is what sent me on this obsessive stalking mission. She was bent over in Athens at the Theatre of Dionysus, tying the laces of her bright pink Nike’s. Then she stood up and I saw her face. She’s beyond gorgeous. Her short, bright red hair and green eyes have captivated me to the point of insanity. I gather her hair is dyed that color since the rest of her family has blonde hair, but I like that she marches to the beat of her own drum.

Today is the first time I am seeing her head covered in a loose, brightly colored scarf. Her sisters are covered as well, though their scarfs aren’t as brightly colored as Heather’s. While not a strict hijab, she is being respectful of the local culture as am I, and that warms my heart. At home, she won’t need to wear it. I cut my business trip in Athens short and followed her around like a fucking puppy. At that point, she was on vacation with her family, but she’s staying put for now. Until I can claim her, make her love me, and make her my bride all before Easter.

My sources indicate that her parents, Tim and Sandra have been married for twenty-two years and have three daughters. Heather, Irene, and Sasha. Heather is mine. I followed them around Europe for weeks and now they are in Egypt. According to their travel itinerary, this is their last stop. They are permanently moving here while Sasha, the youngest, attends the University of Cairo and Tim has been named the U.S. Ambassador to Egypt. They will live in the embassy there.

My own country, Erurstan, is tiny, nestled on an island north of Egypt. We were colonized by the English in the 1700s, and we retained the language as well as Arabic. Though to be honest, English is the official language. It’s a peaceful country with no political ties to the rest of the world. It’s also religiously free which is rare for this part of the world. Commercially, Erurstan is the only country in the world with the rarium, a natural element used in the manufacturing of all cellular phones. We are touristy as we are right on the Mediterranean Sea. Two miles off of the coast of Egypt, we have the best of both worlds. Erurstan boasts ten square miles of beautiful beaches and villas. As Sheik, I am responsible for all 49,001 souls that live there year-round. We are one of the most densely populated principalities in the world. Monaco comes in a close second with around 38,000 inhabitants.

Rather patiently, for me anyway, I have been waiting for the chance to get Heather alone, but she goes nowhere without at least one member of her family or their security, so today I have brought back up in the form of my brothers, Majid and Hamid, to distract her sisters. Just as we are about to make our move, Heather turns from her place in line at the little coffee shop and stares directly at me. Her eyes widen and I know she’s recognized me. I am not exactly out of place with my keffiyeh and suit, but she knows. She walks right over to our table. I stand, as do my brothers, out of respect.

“Oh,” she exclaims. “I’m sorry to interrupt, but have you been following me, sir? I could swear I saw you in Athens and Casablanca.”

“I am following you, Heather,” I say, going for honesty.

“But why?” she asks looking around. “Are you a part of the Diplomatic Security Service or something?” she whispers. Her agents come forward, but she waves them away. My own bodyguards are inconspicuously stationed all over the cafe, but they know that these girls can’t be touched by them.

“Won’t you sit down and join us? Your sister’s too,” I say gesturing to the three open seats.

“We shouldn’t talk to strangers,” she says. “You have the advantage of knowing who I am, but I haven’t had the pleasure.”

“Forgive me,” I begin. “I’m Omar and these are my brother’s Majid and Hamid.” I take her outstretched hand. Her hands are silky smooth, and I relish the feel of her skin on mine. Her sisters walk over to the table. The six of us stand there staring at each other.

“Sorry, these are my sister’s Irene and Sasha,” she says, indicating who is who. “Girls,

this is Omar, Majid, and Hamid.” She also indicates who we are.

“Hey,” Sasha says, sitting down. Majid moves a little bit closer to her.

“Hello,” Irene says. Hamid’s breathing changes a little bit as he stares at her. Alright, that’s working a little bit better than I planned.

Finally, Heather sits, and my brother’s and I do as well.

“I’d like to take you out to dinner tonight,” I say, never taking my eyes off of her.

  “All of us?” Irene asks.

  “Hell no,” Hamid growls.

“Oh,” she says looking down at her lap.

“Don’t be like that,” Hamid says, lifting her chin so that she’s looking at him. “I simply meant that he won’t be taking you out. You’ll go out with me.”

“O-okay,” Irene stutters, causing Hamid to smile.

“I did just mean Heather,” I say chuckling.

“Yeah, that sounds good. I’ll admit that I am curious about you Omar,” she says, taking a drink of the coffee the waitress brought over for the girls.

“My lord, we must be going. Your presence
is being noticed by the locals,” Tariq, my head guard states coming up to the table.

  “My lord?” she asks.

“Ah, I am afraid our time has come to an end, but I will explain that later. I will pick you up at the embassy tonight at seven. Is that acceptable?” I ask.

  “Yes,” she responds breathily.

“Wonderful. It was a pleasure to finally meet you,” I tell her, extending my hand again. She takes it and I take the opportunity to lift hers to my lips.

  “It really was,” she replies.

I wait as my brothers make similar plans with Sasha and Irene and then we leave. Outside the cafe, I pull aside three guards from our teams, all-female. They are highly trained protection agents.

“Watch them. Keep them safe. Your very lives depend on it.”

“Of course, My Lord,” Aaliyah, the highest-ranked guard says. The other two, Sada and Zara nod in agreement.

“Excellent. Reports to your commanders every two hours. Oh, and don’t allow anyone to touch them, other than their parents. That should go without saying though.”

“Not a problem,” Aaliyah responds. We get into our car and head to our hotel. Home is still about a hundred miles by land and two miles by ferry from here. I have two conference calls between now and seven, but I am anxious to get her alone. I should have taken her when I first laid eyes on her, but I didn’t want our relationship to start out like that. Now, I am regretting that decision. I should have kidnapped her and made her fall in love with me. Then she’d already be mine and this infernal waiting would have come to an end long ago, but I want her to crave me just as much as I crave her. I crave her on a level that I didn’t know I had, and she must reciprocate, or I will have to take those drastic measures.

I’ve waited my whole life, all thirty-five years, to find a woman like her. It is a thousand-year-old tradition for the Sheik’s of Erurstan to be pure for their brides and I have honored that silent, sacred pledge. The time for waiting is over. I intend to wed, bed, and breed her, in no particular order. Heather Faulkner is mine.

God help anyone who tries to stop me.

  Chapter Two

  Heather Faulkner

The journey to Cairo was long and at times tedious, but we are here now, and I am trying to make the best of it. As much as I love my family, I haven’t had a moment to myself in weeks and I need it. I know that I could have stayed home in DC, but my entire family was moving here, and I couldn’t be without them for three years while my father serves at the pleasure of the president. My mom had the idea to make it a month-long trip around Europe before arriving in Cairo. At first it was fun, but as time dragged on, I got bored.

Of course, I noticed who I now know to be Omar in Athens at several tourist spots and didn’t think anything of it, but then I saw him where we had dinner. Honestly, how could I not notice him? He’s gorgeous. Commanding. I was drawn to him without knowing him. I couldn't figure out why he was there, at a tiny hole in the wall restaurant outside of Athens when there are tons of restaurants in the city. That was the first night I dreamed of him. I’ve seen him at least once every day since then. Today, I had the overwhelming urge to know him. I knew it couldn’t be a coincidence that he was in the cafe, sitting there like he owned the place. When I walked up to him, I felt a burst of confidence like I’ve never had before.

A quick internet search brought up Omar Iben Shah, Sheik, or leader, of an island nation, Erurstan. It’s no wonder he knows all about me. He has the power to find out anything he wants to about me. Why does that turn me on? I remember studying this island my freshman year in college. Rasul was sheik then. Omar is thirty-five and he’s never been married. He has two younger brothers, I met them earlier. His official portrait is so sexy. So stately, majestic. He’s going to be important to me, I can feel it. What the hell does a man like that want with a woman like me? Honestly, I can’t wait to find out. Whatever it is: a quick fuck or forever, I’m down. He’s awakened something inside of me. Something dark and dangerous. Something I want to explore. I am dressed in the cutest dress I own, a below the knee black dress, with bright yellow flowers on it and black ballet flats. I don’t know where we are going, but a dress is both dressy and casual in my opinion. I’m trying to be respectful of the people in this country as I am a guest, but I honestly don't know how they do it. It’s almost dark, but it’s still hot as hell. This headscarf is going to be the death of me. It’s the lightest material I could find, but still, it’s stifling.

Later, I wait for him in the courtyard of the embassy. His motorcade pulls up and a Marine opens the gate for them. He gets out of the car and walks over to me. He's wearing a different, fancier suit then he was earlier. This one has a vest. Who would have thought three-piece suits were hot? I can’t stop staring at him. He’s gorgeous. Tall, dark, and delicious. I lick my lips in what I can only describe as anticipation. I want to lick every square inch of his powerful body.

“Hello, Heather,” he says. His slightly English accented voice washes over me. He awakens all of the Jane Austen hero fantasies I have ever had with two little words. It’s different now that it is just the two of us. In the cafe, it was loud, and our siblings were crowded around us, and it didn’t have the same effect that it’s having now. I don’t think anything is ever going to be the same again. Immediately, I fantasize about him whispering, dirty British things in my ear. In my earlier research, I discovered that they are still a colony of Great Britain, but they have their independence.

  “Hi,” I whisper.

“You look beautiful,” he tells me, and I blush. “I do miss your hair though.”

“Thank you. Maybe you can see it later,” I say boldly.

“I’d like that, Heather,” he says, reaching out and touching my cheek. I lean into his touch and look up at him.

“I should meet your father,” he says, causing me to frown. Is he just using me to get to my father? Surely not. For all intents and purposes, Omar is a king. What does a king need from an ambassador?

“Uh, yeah, sure,” I say, fiddling with the edge of my black headscarf. “Follow, me.” He puts his hand on the small of my back and I lead him up the steps to the residence entrance. My parents were just sitting down to dinner when I came outside so I hope they aren’t doing something crazy like having sex on the dining room table. Considering they are very much in love and still bang like bunnies every freaking chance they get; I can’t tell you how many times my sisters and I have caught them in the act.

We enter the dining room and thankfully they are just eating. My father stands up.

“Your Highness, I wasn’t aware we had a meeting. It’s only my second day after all,” my dad says chuckling.

“Mister Ambassador, we do not. I am here on a personal matter,” Omar says, extending his hand, which Dad shakes.

“Ah, so you are the fine gentleman taking this daughter out. I have had two other such meetings this evening. Your brother’s, I believe. Please have a seat.”

“Yes, they are. We are just leaving for dinner, but I must inform you I have every intention of marrying your daughter. Soon,” he says causing me to gasp. My mom just giggles. How can they react in such a way? Internally, I am freaking the fuck out. Who just comes right out and says that? Who says something like that before a first date even? The level of confidence he exudes should scare me, but it doesn’t. More so, why shouldn’t he? He’s got the fate of his people squarely on his shoulders. I am beyond intrigued but I don’t know what to do with such an odd statement.

“I figured as much. We’ve heard this same speech three times now. The Shah men certainly know what they want don’t they, Sandy?”

“Very much so,” Mom replies, taking a sip of her wine.

“We’ll be taking our leave now, but I will have her home at a reasonable hour,” he says taking my hand.

“That won’t be necessary, Your Highness. Heather is an adult,” Dad says. I can’t believe he’s being so reasonable and nonchalant about this. What ki
nd of father accepts this kind of thing? Is it just because he’s basically a king? I never thought in a million years when he asked to meet my dad it was for that reason.

“Omar, please but even so,” he replies.

  “Very well.”

“Have a nice time you two,” Mom says, winking at me.

“Uh, yeah. Thanks, Mom,” I reply, shell shocked.

Omar leads me back out to his car where we both get in the back seat.

“I’d like nothing more than to take you back to my hotel instead of the evening I have planned,” he says, rubbing his thumb in slow deliberate circles on my knee. I swear my nerves are firing on all cylinders and I have never felt this way before.

Holy shit! How can I say no to that?

  Chapter Three

  Omar

“I think I’d like that,” she whispers and places her hand over mine on her knee.

“Would you, Heather? Would you like to be mine?”

“Yes,” her voice gets even breathier and it goes straight to my balls.

“Rasheed take us to the hotel,” I say without taking my eyes off her. She’s blushing again. Fuck, she’s going to be the death of me.

As soon as we get to the hotel, I lead her to my suite. As soon as I saw her in Athens, I knew, eventually, we’d end up here, alone together. She walks in and sits down on the massive white couch, after slipping off her shoes. I do the same at the door.

“This is a nice room,” she says, looking around.
