“Shake it.”
I glanced at Clark, who was watching me intently, before shaking the beaker. The smoke grew thicker, filling the entire beaker with the undulating redness.
“It’s like a snow globe.”
“It is, yeah. And it’s you.” He pushed up his glasses when I looked at him, grinning back at me. “My fiery research experiment.”
Such a sweet man. “Thank you. It’s lovely.”
“There’s one more thing.” He grabbed the beaker and tilted it, showing me the bottom where a small, black button sat within the wooden circle of the stand. “Press the button.”
I pressed it. Suddenly, I heard a very tinny Clark saying, “Report to detention immediately.”
There was no holding back my grin, or the way I shifted in my seat. Yeah, the whole teacher-student fantasy was one of my favorites. I had myself the sexy professor, and I got to be the student he couldn’t say no to. The present might as well have been porn for how that red smoke and speaker box made me feel.
“You gave me a present that is basically saying let’s have sex,” I said, frowning intentionally, but running my foot up his thigh to make sure he knew I was only joking around. “You are so naughty. I don’t think this is right at all.”
In his teacher voice—the one that made shivers creep up my spine—Clark asked, “Do you want to pass my class or not, my little fox?”
Hell yeah, I did. “Please. I can’t get an F. My permanent record will never recover.”
“Then I suggest you get over here and show me how much my class means to you.”
Yup. I could totally do that. I rose to my feet, sauntering around the table. Dropping to my knees in front of him. “How about I show the teacher how much he means to me?”
His hands found their way behind my neck, tugging me closer with a gentle sort of pressure. His stare growing more intense and his expression earnest. I loved that man when he got all earnest.
“The world, my little fox. You mean the world to me.”
“Ditto.” I pulled his hand forward, kissing his thumb as it passed over my face. “And I want you.”
“Physically or in some other way?”
Always needing to know the specifics. “Both.”
“Biweekly?” His lips kicked up into a grin as I growled. “Or maybe not.”
“You couldn’t last two weeks without me anymore.”
He yanked me up and into his lap, forcing my legs to straddle his. Pulling me close with his hands on my hips. “I couldn’t the first time either.”
“No?”
“No. I wound up under your bedroom window. More than once, to be honest.”
That was hot. The idea of his wolf taking charge and forcing him to run over the mountain to track me down? Totally hot. “It’s too cold to sleep outside now.”
“Exactly, so let’s not make me suffer, shall we?”
I rocked over him, sliding and pressing where he was so very hard for me. “But I like making you suffer.”
“You do.” He grunted, rolling his body up. Grinding back on me. “We’ll make each other suffer together, though.”
Dry-humping at the kitchen table was my new favorite thing, though I had a feeling having Clark fuck me across the kitchen table would soon replace that. “Together. Always. Not biweekly.”
He picked me up and set my hips on the table, laying me back as he ripped at my clothes. As he rushed to bring us closer together. “Never biweekly again.”
And that, my friends, was how we broke the kitchen table, though I saved my beaker present with some seriously impressive hand-eye coordination. It didn’t matter, though. Nothing did—not the driving we had to do all the time, not the annoyance of being in one town when something you wanted to eat or wear or read was in another. None of that was more important than us being together. Clark was mine and I was his, and however we chose to live out our lives was exactly the way it should be.
Of course, he’d never live down being naked in my family’s kitchen, but whatever. At least he looked good naked.

ck and something to drink, so I took him as the sweet one. The caretaker. Quinn…well, Quinn had been quiet, watching me from behind a pair of thick, black glasses that made me want to play out a naughty teacher fantasy with him. Tripp was big, jovial, and wore an old football jersey from some college I didn’t recognize the name of. Definitely the jock of the group. Dalton and Cade both seemed harder, meaner. Rougher around the edges. While Matthew may have been arrogant and harsher than Liam, those two took that to a whole other level. Something about them spoke of military training or law enforcement. I would bet all the money I didn’t have that they were the protectors of the herd.
Easy enough to tell them apart—not so easy to know what to do with them. Or rather, how. Or maybe just what.
