Forest's Fall (Captive Hearts Book 3) Page 35

by Ellie Masters

Her body pulsed around me, gripped me, and drove me insane. Blood pounded in my ears, and incredible sensations rocketed through my body as I buried myself in her wet heat.

I stopped to soak in the moment. Our bodies were finally connected. I didn’t think she would be able to take all of me, but her body fit mine like a glove as if we had been made for each other.

My heart filled to the bursting point with the union of body, heart, and soul. God, I loved this woman. I loved her with every fiber of my soul.

She stared up at me, hands on my shoulders, and smiled. Our bodies joined together was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen.

  “You okay?” I asked.

“It feels amazing, Forest. You’re amazing.”

I didn’t know about that. I was barely holding on and hated to admit that I needed a moment. Any movement would send me over the precipice too soon.

One pump and done? Hell, I’d barely held on while simply sliding in.

“I don’t know how long I can hold on.”

“Then we’ll just have to do this again and again.” Her impish grin made me laugh.

“Oh, I think we’ll be doing a whole lot more of this. Shit, I could live right here.”

“Now, that would be awkward in the boardroom.”

Our light banter helped cool me off a bit. My release pulled back from the brink, no longer threatening an all-out plunge over the cliff. Not that I wanted to stay that way. I needed to fuck.

“I need to move.” Yeah, I’d stepped back from the cliff, but that didn’t mean I wasn’t a needy fucker.

“Please.” She tilted her pelvis and cupped my face. “And don’t be gentle. I can take what you need to give.”

I didn’t think it was possible to love someone more.

Drawing back, my eyes closed with the exquisite pleasure shooting through my body.

Her breathy pants, the sharpness of her breaths, made me cautious, but I didn’t let it stop me.

Sara would tell me when it got to be too much. With that thought in my head, I moved and found, not my rhythm, but rather ours.

Sara’s cries of Yes! and More! drove me to quicken my tempo. Our breaths melded together as our bodies drew closer to the brink.

“Forest…” Need filled her breath. “Harder.”

My hips bucked as I drove into her. Then I felt it.

Her thighs trembled then clamped around me. Her entire body contracted as I sent her over the cliff with a litany of pleasure induced words I could barely make out. Ripples of her pleasure stroked my cock, sending a current of electricity straight to my balls. I lost it as an explosion of heat ripped through me.

Collapsing on top of her with the aftershocks of my orgasm, I was unwilling to move. I wanted to stay locked like this with her forever, drawing this moment out.

I’d never felt this much at peace. It scared the shit out of me because if I lost her, I would never be the same. The strength of my feelings for Sara were powerful things, scary things; things Snowden could use against me.

A soft knock pulled me from the moment. I glanced up with a frown to see Paul standing in the doorway.

“Sorry to do this, but he’s coming.”

  “It’s too early.”

Snowden shouldn’t be here for another couple of hours.

  “I strongly suggest you shower.”

  “Why?” My eyes narrowed.

“He’ll go nuts if he smells her on you.”

  “So?”

“Don’t be a dick. I waited as long as I could, but you need to get up.”

“You’ve been listening the whole time?”

“Kind of hard not to hear that.” His lips twisted in a lopsided grin. “Sounded like you were having fun.”

  “Enjoyed the show?”

“I didn’t watch, and I won’t.” His attention flicked to Sara. “At least not until invited. What the two of you do is between you until she says otherwise. I eagerly look forward to that day if it ever comes.” He shifted his attention from me to focus on Sara. The two of them were developing an odd nonverbal communication between them.

I wasn’t sure how to feel about that.

He extended a great deal of respect to Sara. I should appreciate it, but the truth was I envied Paul.

I hated that he got to spend all day with my angel when I had only a few stolen moments, and most of those were when I felt my worst.

  It wasn’t fair.

“Forest,” Sara kissed the tip of my shoulder, “Paul’s right. You should probably get ready.” She propped up on her elbow. “Any reason why he’s coming early?”

I was naked. The only things I needed to get ready were the cuffs to bind me and the collar which controlled me.

  “I don’t know.”

  “But you’re worried?” she asked.

“Yeah.” Paul rubbed at the back of his neck. “Seriously, you need to hurry.”

  Chapter Forty-Three

  Sara

Forest wasn’t moving, so I pushed him out of bed. Or tried to. When that didn’t budge him, I pressed my foot to the small of his back and kicked him out.

“Stop glaring at Paul.” I gave a little huff. “Get cleaned up.”

My instinct was to say, Let’s get you ready for the day, but none of our days were things anyone would want to get ready for. By the brooding look on his face, Paul shared my concern.

  He had me worried.

Snowden’s early arrival had me worried.

Forest’s nonchalance about all of it…had me worried.

He slid out of bed then extended a hand to me. “Come on.”

“You don’t have time for that,” Paul said.

“I don’t care.” Forest’s gaze swept past me, full of fire and ice. A deadly presence overcame him.

Every time I thought Snowden had Forest beat, Forest surprised me. He didn’t look like a man preparing to be used and degraded. He looked ready to do battle.

Generally, he spent what little time we had in the mornings shielding himself against whatever Snowden might throw at him. He faced every day with a stoic resignation to endure. I rarely saw this fire in his eyes.

  Why was he different today?

Resigned for sure, but a little of the old Forest surfaced. My proud Viking king was stepping out of his shell and standing tall.

  That didn’t bode well.

If I saw it, Snowden might see it too. That could be very dangerous.

I hastily climbed out of bed and headed to the shower. Paul turned sideways to let me pass, but when Forest tried to come through, Paul blocked him.

“Don’t be a fuck-up,” Paul warned. “Whatever is going on in your head, get rid of it. This is not the time—”

“Get out of my way.” A threat of bodily harm curled through Forest’s tone.

This wasn’t their usual aggression. That generally turned to brutal, combative sex. This was a get-out-of-my-way-or-I’ll-rip-your-fucking-head-off kind of threat.

“I see it in your eyes…” Paul didn’t back down. “You finally have sex with her, and now you feel like you have something to prove, but you’re only going to fuck things up.”

“You don’t see shit.” Forest’s disdain had me biting my lower lip.

Tension curled in the air, heating it up, but without the sexual charge that generally existed between the two men. Forest’s irritation, his restlessness, and his anger spewed forth. He closed the distance, making a show of force as he got in Paul’s face.

“Your emotions are making a mess.” Paul didn’t back down. “Get your shit locked down.”

Woven within Paul’s words lingered the threat of what would happen if Forest didn’t do as he said, but caution was there too.

  And concern.

Paul was trying to talk Forest down.

But what had changed? Why now? Why was Forest acting like an ass?

  Was it what Paul said?

“You don’t get to tell me what to do,” Forest said.

“You want to go over this now? Because we’ve decided this between us already.”

  “Fuck off.”

Paul leaned in. The men’s faces practically touched. “You don’t have time to get in a pissing contest with me. First off, you’ll lose. You’ll lose because I’ll put you in your place because that’s what you need. Didn’t you hear me? He’s coming early.”

  “I don’t give a fuck.”

“You do, and you know it. Not sure what bug crawled up your ass, but get your shit in gear.”

“My shit is locked down tight.”

  “Then what’s the problem?”

“Maybe I don’t like you intruding on us while we’re fucking.” The harshness of Forest’s words had me drawing my shoulders to my ears. We made love for the first time, and he made it sound like all we’d done was fuck.

I backed away, mortified at having the most intimate moment of my life turned into something cheap and meaningless.

“You get fucked by me.” Paul shot his finger at me. “You made love to her. Don’t ever get the two confused. Now apologize.”

  “Fuck you.”

“Piss off, Forest. That’s not what this is about, and you know it. Don’t turn it into something it’s not. You finally made love to her, and now you’re fired up to prove you’re still a man. He’s going to smell that arrogance on you and feed off of it. He’ll turn it against you. I’m telling you to cover that shit up.”

“Why do you care?” Forest’s flippant tone surprised me nearly as much as it did Paul.

“Because she suffers if you fuck things up.” Paul took a step back. “Goddammit, Forest, what the hell has gotten into you? Play the damn game.”

“Maybe I’m tired of playing the victim.”

“You are the victim. There’s no playing,” Paul shouted.

“Not that you’re doing anything about it. You’re part of the problem. When are you going to become a part of the solution? Time to get your head out of your ass and stand up.”

“Don’t speak to me in that tone.”

“Or what? You’re going to take me to the basement and beat the shit out of me? Lock me in a cage and fuck me until I choke? Shock me until I shit myself? Sodomize me until I bleed?”

  “Not cool, Forest.”

“Why? Because it’s different between us? Is that what you want to hear?”

“It is different between us.” Paul’s tone softened. “Don’t do this.”

“That’s the lie I let you believe.”

Paul grabbed Forest in the nuts. Forest hissed against the pain and clamped his hand around Paul’s wrist.

“You’ve got three seconds to let the fuck go.” Forest’s low growl rumbled through the room.

“This is our truth. In three-seconds, you’ll be as stiff as a board for me, aroused and ready for anything I want. Things are different between us. He takes without your consent, whereas you give me everything because we make sense together. Don’t forget who’s on top, because I’m not afraid to remind you.”

“Because you care?” Forest hissed as Paul tightened his grip. “Is that what you’re trying to say? My fucking Dom cares for me?”

“At least we’ve finally established you acknowledge me as your Dom. There’s no going back now, Forest. You are mine.”

“If you’re my Dom, then what the hell are you doing here? If I mean anything to you, then get off your sorry ass and help us.”

Paul’s free hand snapped out and choked Forest. He had Forest by the balls and the throat. Forest stood utterly still.

“Stop fucking me like I’m some goddamn plaything your fucking father gave to you. Help me.”

“What the fuck did you say?” Paul’s entire body tensed.

“I told you to help me.” Forest’s face turned beet red, and he practically choked, getting the words out.

Paul really was choking him. I didn’t know whether to interfere or not. Getting between the two of them never seemed like a good idea.

  “Not that, the other…”

“Oh, you mean about your father?” Forest gave a cocky-assed smirk even I wanted to slap off his face. What had gotten into him? “I love how you worship that monster, believing all his filth and lies when he’s the one who’s been lying to you your entire life. Did you know he killed your mother?”

Paul’s eyes widened, and the tendons on his wrist stood out as he clamped down on Forest’s throat. Forest made no move to pry Paul’s fingers away.

“That’s right. The bastard killed her, then sent you and your sister into foster care where she was brutalized and raped. Tell me, how did Snowden discover you were his mutt? Was it before or after he put you in the rings to fight for your life? Your sister would be so disappointed. It’s a good thing she thinks you’re dead.”

“What the fuck do you know about my sister?”

“That she’s better off never knowing what her brother became.”

“Piper’s dead.” Paul ground out the words.

  Something shifted in the air.

  Something ominous and dark.

“That’s the lie he’s sold you, but she’s very much alive.” Forest leaned into the chokehold. “I saved her.” His eyes sparked with menace. “Now, let me go.”

Paul released Forest and stepped back. He was right about one thing. Forest’s erection jutted between them. Even with the anger swirling between them, their sexual chemistry remained a potent force.

Their bond mystified me. It was as profound as it was powerful. I expected them to fuck and work off their aggression right then, but the sound of the door lock disengaging caught my attention.

“Fuck.” Paul looked at me. “Quick, get in the shower.” He turned back to Forest. “You’re a fucking prick. Get on your knees.”

As I scooted off to the bathroom, Paul grabbed at the front of his pants, hastily drawing the zipper down.

“On your fucking knees!” Paul’s shout had me shutting the door, but I held it open a crack and stared as Snowden entered the room.

Paul positioned himself in front of Forest. His hips jerked like he was getting off, but I knew there was no way he was doing what it looked like he was doing. He released a low groan and fisted Forest’s hair as he faked an orgasm. Slowly, he turned around and made a show of pulling up his zipper.

“You got here faster than I thought. I’m done with him.”

  What the fuck?

  Chapter Forty-Four

  Forest

Unlike computers, which I understood, people confused the hell out of me.

  Except now.

  I had him.

  I had Paul.

He stepped across that invisible barrier that kept me separated from others and became someone I called friend.

Whether he knew he’d taken that step, or not, didn’t matter. His allegiance had shifted to me.

It was in the tic of his jaw, the flex of his biceps, the urgency of his expression, and the fierce protectiveness he showed, not to me but toward the woman I loved.

It was in the command snapping between us. The absolute assurance I would go to my knees.

  No cajoling.

  No forcing.

  No explaining.

It echoed in the obedience I displayed, falling to my knees without thought.

But that wasn’t how I knew.

It was the lie he told his father to protect me.

With Paul’s flaccid cock flopping inches from my face, he faked a release for his father’s benefit.

Words communicated in the flicker of his expression as he looked down at me. We’d become an us.

Snowden might smell Sara on me, but that wouldn’t be what he focused on for the next few hours.

He’s all yours. I’m done with him.

  That lie bound us together.

Paul looked down on me and communicated silently for me to play along.

I sat back on my knees, feeling as if I’d been hit, not in the gut, but rather shot in the heart.

  He prote
cted me from Snowden.

My only question was how solid this connection would be. Could it survive the betrayal racing towards us with all the subtlety of a freight train? When he discovered I’d used him to penetrate Snowden’s defenses and gain access to his computers and everything that went with that, would Paul hate me?

Would I come out of this with yet another disappointment to add to the long line of disappointments littering my life? Or was Paul the one I’d been searching for, a man strong enough to silence the noise in my head? Strong enough to stand for those he loved when it mattered most?

  We would find out.

Paul moved to one of the couches. He collapsed, acting as if that orgasm had ripped out a piece of his strength. The man was a damn good actor. Even I believed I’d just sucked him off. I wouldn’t mind it. The man had a splendid cock.

  Unlike his father.

Snowden’s lips pressed together as he took me in. “Nice of you to warm him up.” His gaze shifted around the room and landed on the door leading into the bathroom. “Where’s the girl?”

Paul jerked a thumb over his shoulder. “In the shower.”

“Hmmm…” Snowden’s slimy lips slid against each other and made a disgusting smacking sound. “I think we should switch things up today. I’m feeling restless.”

Paul leaned his head back and stared at the ceiling. “I’d come, but I’ve got a ton of work…”

“I have something special in mind.” His hard gaze turned to me. “Get your cuffs and collar, boy; it’s going to be a long day.”

I ground my teeth together but didn’t engage. If I looked at Snowden, he wouldn’t see a beaten man but rather a man ready for war. I was so damn tired of playing this game.

If Xavier didn’t hurry shit up, I was going to choke the life out of Snowden, damn the consequences. But I was supposed to be meek and defeated. It was time to put on my game face.

I got off my knees and put the cuffs and collar on. I was such a fucking good boy for this monster.

When I returned to the living room, I went to my knees, where I waited for further instructions.
