Normani stutters underneath me, her body shaking as she slams her hands into the headboard, cursing through gritted teeth, rocking her hips back and forth against me.

“Shit, my little animal. Take it darlin’. Such a good girl,” I growl, pushing my cock all the way inside her and exploding with a load moan, falling to my hands next to her shoulders.

Normani slowly stops shaking underneath me and exhales, dropping down to the bed. I slowly slip out of her and lay down to the side, pulling her close to me.

“Devin that was amazin’, you've never made me come like that,” she says turning around in my arms to face me.

“Well shoot darlin’, I ain't doin’ a very good job then.”

“You're learnin’,” she smirks. “I ain't gonna break, you can handle me like that, caveman. I'm stronger now.”

“Oh darlin’, you've always been strong. Always.”

  Epilogue

  Devin

  Six months later…

I glance around the stadium as I toss the ball in my glove. The next batter comes out and we’re one out from winning the first game of the season with me as the closer for the Louisiana Cajuns. Normani kept her promise as I lift my knee and sling my arm forward, the batter hitting into a double play and the game finishes. I may not be a starting pitcher anymore, but I still have the game and my woman.

The team PR jogs out and I smile, grabbing the microphone and walking back out to the pitcher's mound after slapping all the guys good game.

“I know I blow up y’alls social media all the time postin’ about my woman and how amazin’ she is, but here I am, gonna brag again. Nine months ago, I didn't think I would throw a ball on the field again. She did though,” I say pointing to Normani, walking out on the field, shyly waving to the crowd that now adores her.

“Normani Jameson, my superwoman, she knew I would be back on this field slingin’ my fastball, screwin’ hitters with my changeup, she knew it the whole time. Although I close now, y’all know I’m the best in the game.”

Everyone cheers and Normani rolls her eyes grabbing the microphone and pulling it towards her.

  “Debatable,” she says smirking.

The crowd laughs and I shake my head reaching my hand out for her to take.

“This woman's strength, her determination rubbed off on me and here I am.”

Normani hugs me as I put my arm around her shoulder, pulling her to me, kissing her head.

“I'm gonna shut this off for a sec, but y'all enjoy the show.”

I click off the microphone and place it on the grass as I get down on one knee in front of her and her hand flies to her mouth. The crowd starts to cheer, and I don't even think she'll be able to hear me, the stadium erupts.

“Devin Gavinwood! What are you doin’?” she exclaims.

“I'm doin’ it right this time Normani Jameson. You have made me so fuckin’ proud these past year, workin’ with Second Chances, putting your heart and soul into those kids. I swear my superwoman, you are the light of my life. You give me hope, you give me unconditional love. Even when I was a shithead, an arrogant ass, gave you a fat lip, and hurt your wrist with my rock-solid abs.”

She giggles and rolls her eyes and I smile at that beautiful sound. I reach into my back pocket, bringing the ring box to the front, resting it on my bent knee.

“You have rehabbed more than my arm Normani, you've rehabbed my heart. My heart is yours and it will always be yours and this ring is yours,” I say opening the box, facing it towards her. “Yes, I may have given it to you to protect you, but deep down I wanted you to be mine all along. I love you Normani Jo Jameson, so damn much. I promise to never stop workin’ hard, never stop provin’ to you that one day, I'll be the man worthy of your love and forgiveness darlin’.”

She cups my cheek shaking her head.

“I told you, permanent diaper duty will be more than enough punishment.”

I laugh burying my face into her cheek.

“Done darlin’. I will stand by your side, adoptin’ all the kids you want, as many as your heart desires. Fillin’ this beautiful body with babies too, soon darlin’. Like tonight soon.”

She laughs and so do I as I continue my speech.

“I promise to sing you to sleep, play with your hair, leave the cinnamon on the top shelf, eat whipped cream sundaes off that sinful body and tell you how amazin’, strong and beautiful you are. Every, single, day.”

She wipes at her eyes and laughs, rubbing her thumb against my cheek. I take a deep breath, reveling in the feeling of her soft skin on mine.

“This ring is gonna sit on your finger next to another one that means you're my wife. Soon darlin’, I think we've waited long enough,” I laugh.

She laughs too and I take the ring out of the box, tossing it behind me.

“Will you be my wife Normani?”

“Yes,” she laughs as she nods.

She moves her hand to me as I slip the ring on her finger, back where it belongs and I jump up, scooping her in my arms and spinning her around. Our lips crash together, knocking my hat right off my head. I break the kiss looking out into the crowd and reach down, grabbing the microphone, putting it up to my mouth.

“Come on now, what did y'all think she would say? Tell ‘em darlin’,” I say putting the microphone to my future wife's mouth.

  “I said yes!”

  “She said yes!”

The crowd erupts again as I pump my first in the air, kissing Normani again, putting her down on her feet and bending her back.

“I love you, so damn much.”

“Love you too, cowboy,” she winks.

  “Yehaw darlin’.”

We walk towards the locker room and get all the congratulations from the team before we make our way up to the box to celebrate.

We walk into the room and everyone cheers, slapping me on the back and hugging Normani.

After a few minutes I walk over to the corner of the room where Bella, Damon, Lacey, Miguel and Normani are hanging.

“How my babies doin’?” I ask Bella.

“Sleepin’. Don't you dare wake them up or you take them home!”

  “Promise?” I smirk.

“Devin John, don't move a muscle,” Bella chastises.

“Don't do it man, they're double trouble, I don't know how your mother did it,” Damon says shaking his head.

“I don't know either,” Bella grumbles. “I can't believe you're leavin’ tomorrow. How did six weeks go by already?”

“Bells, you know you got all us. We’ll come by and help,” Normani says putting her hand on her shoulder.

“Angel, I know you. Don't try and do it all on your own. I'm giving all you the keys to our house, feel free to barge in at any time.”

“Okay, okay. I hope y’all are prepared. The other day I went into their room after their nap and Mia was literally eating Mason's foot. Like...who does that?” Bella asks throwing her hands in the air.

“I hope you got a picture of that,” Normani laughs.

“Oh, you know I did. Baby, can you grab my bag,” Bella laughs, secretly gushing.

“Can I talk to you?” Nico says to Lacey breaking us out of our laughter.

She stares at him, her expression stone and nods towards the door of the suite. There was a recent story that leaked about Nico and another woman and it’s taken all of me not to strangle him. She’s been a shell of herself all week. I feel for my cousin, having been filled in that her birth mother, Kat Winters has been stirring up quite a storm.

She pushes past him towards the door to the suite and we all look at each other quietly.

Damon comes back holding a bag, his face is white.

“Bells, I love Mia and Mason with all my heart but they're only six weeks old, we're gonna need help and…”

He lifts a pregnancy test out of the bag he's holding, and Bella furrows her brow.

  “That ain't my bag, baby.”

Damon lets out a breath and I laugh but it f
alls as everyone looks to me. I glance over at Normani and she puts her hands in the air.

  “That ain't my bag!”

Damon puts the pregnancy test back in the bag and puts it on the floor next to the couch.

We all look around the room and Lacey comes back in, opening the door a little too hard, mumbling angrily under her breath.

“Congratulations y'all, I gotta head out though. Dinner this week girls?” she says to the group.

“Of course,” Bella and I say together.

Lacey nods and looks around the room.

“Anyone seen where I put my- oh here it is.”

Lacey takes the bag Damon just put on the floor and waves to us as she walks out of the door.

“Oh shit,” Bella exhales. “This ain't gonna be good.”
