Rem: #12 (Luna Lodge: Hunters of Atlas)

He opened his eyes just as she slid him fully into her wet pussy. This time, a growl came. Rem’s fingers gripped onto her hips as she seated herself fully, shifting her hips and moving his cock deep inside her. Damn. Too perfect.
“Mmhh,” Jenna moaned, and started moving up and down.
She moved slowly at first but picked up speed with each movement. Rem slid his hands over her body until he was cupping both of her glorious breasts. Her nipples slipped between his middle fingers, and he rolled them. Soft murmurs of pleasure mixed with moans sounded at his touch.
Jenna slammed down hard and ground her hips, a sly smile on her face. Rem grunted when she did it once again, worry creeping in despite the overwhelming pleasure.
“Baby, be careful,” he panted. “I don’t want you to hurt yourself.”
Jenna stared down at him, a defiant glint in her eye. “I don’t want to be careful,” she said. “I want you to fuck me.”
With that, she slid her hand over to where his tattoo snaked along his arm. A bright light flashed, and warmth spread through them both. Rem’s dick throbbed.
“Fuck!” he shouted.
It was too much. Fuck self-control.
Unable to contain himself anymore, Rem pulled out. Jenna huffed loudly, but only had seconds to feel the loss before he’d flipped her onto her back. Rem climbed off the bed and roughly pulled her body down the bed. Her ass now rested on the edge.
“My turn again,” Rem growled. With one fast thrust, he was inside her.
Jenna moaned loudly. “More.”
It was all he needed. His hips moved of their own accord, hammering into her sweet pussy like he’d never been there before, like she was the only think he needed at that moment.
“So close,” she whispered.
He was too. His cock was swollen almost painfully inside of her. It ached for release.
Jenna came first. Her pussy clamped down on his cock. He could feel the soft flutter as she reached her orgasm. It was all he needed to send him over the edge as well. He came deep inside of her.
They stayed like that for a moment, each breathing heavily, just catching their breath and trying to find their footing again, the warmth of their receding climaxes blinding them to anything else in the world.
Finally, Rem pulled out and climbed onto the bed next to Jenna. When he pulled her naked body close to him, she snuggled in his arms. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead.
“Did I hurt you?” he murmured.
She sighed and shook her head before nestling closer to him. This felt good. This felt right. Not right. Complete.
“It was deliciously good,” Rem said.
Rem chuckled. “You make it sound like a dessert.”
Jenna yawned. “Maybe you’re like my version of chocolate cake. A little dangerous in large doses, but I always want a second piece.”
He growled a little. “Keep talking like that and I might make you have another piece of cake.”
His hand trailed over her body until he met her center.
Jenna moaned and opened her eyes. “I always want another piece of cake.”
Rem rolled her onto her back. “I think we can totally make that happen.”
Chapter Eight
Lightning flashed, pushing away the darkness. A loud crack of thunder sounded. Jenna gasped as she sat up in bed quickly, a hand to her chest.
“Shit.” Rem groaned, rubbing his eyes. “There wasn’t any rain in the forecast.”
He was right. They had been watching the news so closely, and there wasn’t even a hint of rain. Although that was one of the things about living nestled in the windward side of the Cascades. Rain was always a possibility.
Rem grabbed his phone from his nightstand and sent out a quick text before standing to get dressed. Jenna climbed out of bed as well. He turned and shook his head.
“Go ahead and get some rest,” he said gently. “We can handle this. It’s just some rain. We’ll save all the wedding preparations.”
Jenna frowned. She was already annoyed at being left out of most of the decorating for the weddings, and now she couldn’t even be of help during an emergency that threatened that same setup? No way in hell that was happening, not after everything he’d told her earlier.
“You need every person you can get right now,” she said firmly.
Rem pressed his lips together. She could see the effort to come up with an answer on his face. He wanted to tell her no, but also knew there was no way to do that without seeming like an ass.
“No heavy lifting,” he said.
Jenna climbed out of bed and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. “I know,” she said, and kissed one of his pecs. “That’s what these are for.”
She felt a low rumble from his chest.
“You don’t play fair,” he said, his voice low and husky. “I’ll be sure to return the favor later.”
A flush spread across her body. Not embarrassment but anticipation. All the more reason for them to get going. As quickly as a very pregnant woman could, Jenna got dressed. They headed outside, hopped into her SUV, and made their way to the center of town.
When they arrived, people were already racing to throw as much as they could into cars and trucks. It had only been a light rain up to that point, but now it came down in unrelenting sheets, drenching them all from head to toe.
About the only thing Jenna could really do was try and save the boxes of paper flowers set under a table. The bottom of the boxes were all damp, but she could only hope all the hard work hadn’t been for nothing. She had one potential backup plan, but she wasn’t sure if it would be enough.
After what seemed like a cold eternity, Jenna placed the last box in the back of the SUV. Rem hadn’t been so keen about getting the vehicle, but with all the equipment that babies required, it was the most practical option. In truth she suspected he only fought her on it so they could make up. It seemed like he liked nothing more than to get her going and then make it right. Their game of cat and mouse sometimes had its advantages. Right now, she was just glad to have the shelter over her head from the rain.
Jenna watched as Rem and the other men loaded the tables and chairs. There would be so much to do in the morning. She could only hope the majority of the decorations could be salvaged. The real question was where they would move the ceremonies. The couples deserved their weddings. Their old compound did have the meeting room, but their people had grown from when they all lived there. It wasn’t big enough now, especially with the extra townsfolk guests.
The only real option was the Azilian compound. They had avoided going back there with the exception of some gardening plots, storage raids, and her work in the greenhouse. It held bad memories considering the last time they were there they saw the end of so many. The brothers and the Godsons were the opposite of what the hybrids stood for, but that didn’t mean anyone wanted to see them all dead as part of some twisted plan.
In truth, if they could have made it work, Rem was willing to open the doors to any hybrid. It was such an optimistic view coming from someone like him, but when Jenna thought about it, Rem had always been an optimist. He hoped to bring his brother to his side, and he was willing to accept Nero despite his past. He had accepted the Vestals from town and the compound and had little trouble welcoming the townsfolk who had decided to stay.
He had always been looking for the day when they could all be accepted, human and hybrid, together.
Rem loaded the last table, and he made their way over toward her, trailed by some other hybrids. Nyx frowned when she saw Jenna standing there.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Nyx asked.
Only the question wasn’t directed at Jenna. Nyx scowled at Rem. He shook his head and shrugged.
“When have I ever been able to tell her what to do?” Rem replied.
Jenna sighed loudly. “You both know I can hear you, right?”
Nyx only frowned more and shook off her coat. She placed it gently around Jenna’s
shoulders. “Gotta keep my little buddy safe,” she whispered.
Such sweet words from such a rough and tumble woman. Jenna smiled and was secretly glad to have the warmth. Not that she’d give any of them the satisfaction of hearing that.
“We going to the old meeting house?” Magnus asked.
Rem frowned. She could see he hadn’t really figured out what to do.
“The Azilians’ place,” Jenna said quietly.
For a moment, she wondered if her words had been drowned out by the constant patter of rain.
Nyx spoke after a moment, a disturbed look on her face. “After what happened there?”
Jenna sighed. She understood. It wasn’t exactly the best place to start a new life.
“It’s the only place big enough for everyone.” Jenna sat down in the back of the SUV. “I know it’s not great, but maybe we can make new memories there. Change the clouds that hang over the area and reclaim it as something for good.”
She looked around at the group. Several nodded, and it was good to know what she’d said made sense. Her eyes stopped when they reached Rem. She could see all the love in his eyes. Maybe in the end she was just as much an optimist as he was. Maybe it was what drew them together.
Rem shrugged. “Okay, looks like we’re moving it all to the Azilian compound.”
Chapter Nine
Rem nodded in satisfaction as the men placed the last table in the main hall of the Azilian compound. There was still quite a bit that needed to be done before the service that evening. Despite the emergency, it looked like they’d salvaged almost everything, and there was even enough time for them to head home and get a little sleep before finishing the setup.
“Gather up,” he announced. “I’ve got some things I want to talk about.”
It was time, especially since there were only hybrids there at this point. His men gathered there in front of him. It wasn’t everyone, but it was enough.
“What’s going on?” Nyx said as she leaned against a table, suspicion on her face.
“I guess we might as well have the meeting now.” Rem sighed. “It’ll save some time in the morning.”
Nyx narrowed her eyes. “Why do I have a feeling I won’t like to hear this?”
Just like when he spoke with Jenna, he was having trouble finding the right words. It was likely best to just get to the point. The hybrids deserved the truth, not bullshit lies of omission. This wasn’t a problem he could solve on his own.
“Erebus lives,” Rem said.
No one spoke for a long moment, but their concern was written on all their faces. It was as they had feared and expected.
“Did you see him?” Magnus asked, the second-in-command somehow even more serious looking than the others.
Rem scrubbed a hand over his face and leaned against the table behind him. “I had a dream.” He thought they might question him about that, but they all waited for what he had to say next. “A woman named Lapis came to me. She is an ancestor of ours.”
“So she just came to warn you?” Lucas asked, not a lot of doubt in his voice.
“In a sense,” Rem said with a slight growl. “A warning or a threat. I’m still not exactly sure.”
Nero frowned. The former Glycon was always suspicious of those playing both sides. He’d seen more than his share over the years.
“She said my son was the key,” Rem said. “She said that Erebus wants to use him as some sort of vessel to truly bring himself into our world.”
Rem paused. He hadn’t even told Jenna this, but he needed the hybrids to know. After all, it was their risk to share as well.
“She wanted me to kill the baby.” He gritted his teeth.
Nyx pushed off the table in anger, her hands curling into fists. “Fuck this bitch. Let’s see her come into the real world. I’ll fuck her up until she runs back into the dream.”
The corners of Rem’s mouth twitched as that had basically been his own reaction. He was only not angry because he’d already dealt with the feelings and needed his people focused.
“If she were really our ancestor, she would know we don’t hurt our own.” Lucas said.
The other gathered hybrids nodded their agreement, more than a few expressing similar plans as Nyx. Most looked angry on his behalf.
Relief flooded him. He hadn’t realized the guilt he had been carrying. He would never kill his own child, but was it right to risk the fortune of the world on that? Was it fair to ask others to trust him? Apparently, his people thought the same, and that was all he really cared about. They could go into the future, united.
“I’m assuming Jenna doesn’t know this?” Magnus asked. He always seemed to sense these things. Maybe it was because of his time with the Horatius group.
“I can’t tell her,” Rem said. “With the baby due any day now, I can’t risk getting her upset. This isn’t anything she can do anything about. This is a time I need to step up. A time we all need to step up.”
“Won’t not telling her only put her at more risk?” Nyx asked with a frown.
Rem understood their feelings. He’d felt the same way, but as her mate, the best thing he could do for now was protect her.
“She knows that Erebus has returned,” Rem said. “I think that’s enough to keep her alert. As for the rest…” He clenched his fists so hard he could hear the knuckles pop. “I’ll take care of Lapis and then Erebus myself. No one threatens my child.”
The room grew quiet. They were all worried about their own families as well as one another.
“What about the weddings?” Marcus asked. “Should we even be doing this? Shouldn’t we wait until it’s all over?”
He had a point. It really was terrible timing. But with their lives, it was never going to be a good time. There would always be some possible threat. They just needed to live in the moment. That was all anyone could do.
“We need this,” Rem said. “We keep the weddings. Anassa placed protections over the place for us. Even if she had plans for something else, they are still there. This is likely the safest place for us against Erebus.”
Rem glanced at his phone. “Speaking of, some of you have a very big day tomorrow. Go home and get some sleep. Whatever is going on with Erebus isn’t going to happen tonight. I just wanted you all to know.”
After a moment of hesitation, the hybrids filtered out of the room. Rem made his way to the kitchen where Jenna had been earlier. Inside, he could see every counter had paper flowers drying out. He smiled as he made his way out the kitchen door.
From where he stood, he could see a small light on in the greenhouse. It would only make sense she started on the next project waiting for him. They hadn’t planned to settle the Azilian compound, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t take advantage of some of the buildings there.
They already done some minor planting there. The woman was constantly moving on to the next thing. Even carrying a watermelon around her center hadn’t slowed her down much.
He made his way across the courtyard to the small glass building. Only Jenna’s silhouette was visible through the condensation on the window. Quietly, he opened the door. Warm air hit him. The humidity made it feel even warmer.
Jenna hummed to herself as she scribbled on a piece of paper. Her hips swayed a little to the beat of her own music. He could feel the front of his pants tighten a little as he watched her swaying. He couldn’t help it.
“You aren’t as silent as you think you are.” Jenna glanced over her shoulder with a grin. “You spying on me, perv?”
Rem laughed. He stepped over to where she was and pressed his front to her back, wrapping his hands just on top of her large belly and then kissed the side of her neck.
“What are we working on here?” Rem nodded to the paper she had in hand.
“Just thought we might make a list of all the fresh flowers we could use. I tried to save as many of the paper ones as I could, but we lost about a third. Marcus is going to be so upset.”
Rem grinned. The
hybrid would be more than upset. He could only hope he was there when Marcus found out. It would serve him right for all the complaining he did. Although Rem couldn’t really say he blamed him. The guys had been giving him such a hard time, and the girls were fawning over how in touch with himself he was.
If Rem had to guess, it had less to do with Marcus being in touch with himself versus him being able to touch Courtney. She basically had the tough hybrid wrapped around her finger, and they couldn’t be a better match for one another.
Rem turned Jenna in his arms. Of course, he thought the same about himself.
“All finished with things?” he asked.
More thunder boomed overhead, and they both looked up as the skies opened up again.
“Looks like we’re going to have to wait it out,” Jenna whispered.
She licked her lips, her chest rising and falling.
Rem offered a crooked smile. “The way I remember it, I have a favor to return.”
Jenna gasped as Rem lifted her onto the table, his mouth roughly consuming hers. Their tongues tangled in an erotic dance. She moaned against his mouth as he nipped her bottom lip.
“I have something for you,” he whispered.
Jenna laughed. Not the most original line he’d used. “I’m sure you do.”
He reached down to his pants. But instead of the surprise she was expecting, Rem pulled out a small box. He placed it gently into her hands.
“I had Dave help me out,” Rem said quietly.
Her hands shook a little as she opened the box. Inside was the most beautiful ring she’d ever seen. The stone was a beautiful yellow sitting in the center of a rose. Each petal was intricately formed. Yellow diamonds sat on either side of the rose.
“It used to be your great grandmother’s,” Rem said. “Apparently her favorite color was also yellow.”
Jenna looked up to Rem. His smile seemed forced and nervous.
“Look, I know this is a little late, but I wanted to wait until the right time,” he said. “I’ve always known it was us, and I know you said you didn’t care about a piece of paper, but this just seemed like something you would find important. What’s important to you is important to me.”
