Veracity: The Veracity Diaries Page 23

“Yes, that is…” I answered back a little dumfounded.

“Let’s head back out.” Melissa said as she grabbed my arm with her elbow.

When we stepped back out into the hall, I could see the front entrance from the corner of my eye. Drexy stood there, looking absolutely gorgeous with a couple of her friends. She didn’t see me right away so I started walking a little faster, not giving Melissa a chance to notice.

Robert looked at me when we walked back in. “Hey you.” He said.

I immediately pulled up to his side to grab him. Then, sure enough, Drexy walked into the

kitchen. Her eyes glared at me, but only glanced at Robert. I decided to stare back, just to give

her the final, she needed to get over it look. Her face got flushed but no one else noticed that we

we’re having a negative exchange of energy between our eyes. I wasn’t going to use my powers anymore but after she saw me and Robert together with all her friends, I had to know what she was thinking.

Not a minute passed when she decided to stomp out the kitchen, leaving her friends behind.

A lightheaded feeling came over me for a split second and I pretended to stare out the window again. I could hear her thoughts. I could feel her anger. A sudden loud slam vibrated through the house and everyone stopped for a second to look around. Drexy slammed the large glass and steel door in the front entrance. But everyone returned to talking as if nothing just happened.

The heel of her shoes practically scarped the cement on the walkway as she stomped them with small amounts of smoke blaring through the air. She got in her fancy red Maserati to slam her car door shut as she put it in gear.

“This is not over. You are so dead Veracity!” Drexy said in a deep heated voice that penetrated through my body.

My eyes fluttered while my heart rate skyrocketed, bringing me back into the kitchen.

I looked up at Robert and tried to smile.

  “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, nothing. Sorry, I just went into a daze that’s all.” I answered with a fake smile.

I offered a kiss to distract him from noticing anything else. I felt safe with Robert knowing what he is, but then again, this is just one diary of many more to come.
