Single AF: Social Experiment Series

“Damn. I didn’t see that coming.”
“I hadn’t either. Especially since I’d been faithful to her and had never cheated on any woman I’d dated before. Even more frustrating was that I still loved her even after she’d ’fessed up to everything she’d done.”
I took another sip of my wine. “I hate it when that happens. Here you are, crushed that the person you put your faith into stepped out on you, yet, you can’t cut off that love switch … therefore, further connecting you to a cheating, no-good, hope-your-dick-falls-off-the-next-time-you-sleep-with-a-bitch bastard.”
Tone blinked. “Ah, something like that.”
“Which is why I appreciate the relationships like Luke that ended because we realized we weren’t right for each other and not because of disloyalty.”
“Right. Luke. Good ole’ Lucas.”
“Tell me how you really feel,” I teased. “It’s cool though. I saw you fidgeting during the meeting with Luke. Figured you were probably surprised he wasn’t trying to make a fool of me like my last two.”
“I wasn’t fidgeting when we met with Luke because I was rooting for him to dog you out. I’d never hope for some shit like that. I was anxious because I know Luke is a good dude, and even though y’all agreed to be friends, there’s chemistry there. A bond that the two of you have. If I could see it, so will everyone else when the segment airs, so I was wrapping my head around that.”
I lifted an eyebrow. “You weren’t … Were you jealous?”
“Yes,” he said without hesitation. “I was jealous as hell. Luke and I grew up in the same neighborhood before he moved, but sitting in his office listening to the two of you, observing you both, I reverted back to that kid who was always smaller than the other guys, fighting hard to get the girl to notice me.”
I played with the stem of my wine glass, nervous when I told him, “I’ve always noticed you. Couldn’t stop even when I tried hard to.”
He grinned, confirming, “Same here. You’re pretty hard not to notice, even when you aren’t trying.”
I wasn’t sure how long we sat there, him grazing my cheek with his thumb, me rubbing his arm with my hand.
“What are you thinking about?” I asked several minutes later.
“Something I shouldn’t be thinking?”
Hmm … “Which is what?”
“Trust me, Meeka, you don’t want to know.” He glanced at his Apple watch. “I should probably get going since it’s so late. Maybe we can meet tomorrow before work to prep for our meeting with Tabitha?”
“That’s cool,” I said. “But I’m still curious to know what you were thinking about earlier.”
He placed his wine glass on the table. “I was thinking about kissing your lips,” he claimed, his voice low, steady.
I raised an eyebrow. “Maybe you should do what you’re thinking and kiss me then. It’s not like we haven’t already.”
His eyes dropped to my mouth. “I would … but I wasn’t talking about kissing you like that, Meeka.”
Huh? “Um, how many different ways can you kiss? Tongue or no tongue, right?”
He smirked. “Although I damn sho’ want to kiss you again, the shit that’s been on my mind was wondering if you’d moan when I kissed your pussy lips or scream my name like I always imagined you would.”
My mouth rounded into a perfect O. Meeka, what’s wrong with you? Pay attention, girlfriend! I typically had more game than this and could pick the exact moment when a man wanted to kiss me. And if he was thinking about doing more than kissing, I knew that, too. So please, somebody tell me why I didn’t pick up on the pussy-licking proposal Tone was throwing my way!
“Is it safe to say work isn’t on your mind?” I asked.
He leaned toward me. “I don’t give a damn about work right now. But don’t worry. The ball’s in your court. I won’t even kiss you unless you want me to.”
I slowly nodded my head, decision made easy. “I want you to.”
He bent over even more, his eyes meeting mine instead of on my lips which was sexy as hell. Holding my gaze was already making it much more intimate than any kiss I’d had before. Our chemistry was evident. The moment was perfect. But when I scooted closer to him so he wouldn’t have to reach so far, instead of my face connecting with his, my glass of red wine connected with his cotton, white, V-neck T-shirt.
And just like that, I’ve turned our the-possibilities-are-endless nightcap into a can-she-be-any-more-clumsy shit show.
“Oh crap, I’m so sorry.” I ran to the kitchen to get a wet towel, not expecting Tone to follow me, but glad that he did.
“It’s okay,” he said when I began trying to wipe off the red wine, which of course, was stained into his shirt so good, he’d probably have to toss it in the trash.
“I got distracted,” I explained. “I should have put my wine down on the table.”
He stopped my hands from moving and used his other hand to lift my chin so I was looking up at him when he made sure I realized, “You don’t have to apologize. Accidents happen, and if I hadn’t been so ready to kiss you, I would have placed your glass on the table, too.”
I shook my head when he dropped his hand. “No, it’s not your fault. I’m clumsy sometimes when I get nervous and you make me nervous.”
To add fuel to the fire, he removed his shirt, pulling it over his head.
“I won’t apologize for making you nervous, but no worries, I can clean it up.” He removed the towel from my hand and began dabbing the wine from his shirt. He was saying something else, but I didn’t hear shit. I was too busy trying to keep my eyes from bugging out of the sockets at the sight of his delicious abs that were on full display now that the shirt was gone.
Unable to stop myself, I ran my fingers over the hard crevices, relishing in the way he felt in my hands. Oh my damn. I knew Tone was in shape, but I hadn’t expected him to look this freaking good without a shirt.
He must have been waiting for me to finally lift my eyes from his chest to his face because his lips were on mine before I could comprehend what was going on. Just like the kiss we’d had before, the passion was immediate, his tongue dipping into my mouth with a type of swag that I didn’t even know was possible in kissing.
He owned my mouth, leaving his mark in the way he placed one arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. The way his other hand lightly cupped the back of my neck, tilting his head in a way that meshed our mouths together even more.
The kiss was passionate, yet precise. Invigorating, while being naughty at the same time. Graceful and sleek were two words that could easily be used to describe the way Tone coaxed every part of me with just his lips. But those words were so far from the way I was leading Tone to my bedroom, my mouth never leaving his.
I stumbled over my feet in the hallway, glad he was there to catch me. There were so many thoughts running through my mind when we arrived at my bedroom, our kiss growing more intense. Hungrier. In the back of my mind, that little voice reminded me that we weren’t supposed to have sex tonight. We weren’t supposed to do anything other than kiss.
It had been a while since I’d been intimate with a man, but I didn’t want to move too fast with Tone. We’d just gone on our first date. Barely discussed what would happen after tonight. Lust could be the devil, and as we fell onto my bed, kissing, touching, feeling, my mind and body experiencing too many emotions to count, I didn’t know the answer. Couldn’t decide between doing what my body was telling me to do versus what my mind was warning me not to do.
A little overwhelmed, I broke our kiss and looked down at Tone who was lying beneath me.
“Are you okay?” he asked, concern written across his features.
“I’m fine. Just … I don’t know what I am. I didn’t expect this tonight.” Sis, you didn’t expect this at all!
“I understand. How about we call it a night and end this date on a high note?”
I eyed him curiously, getting off the bed. “What do you mean?”
He stood facing me and took my hands in his. “Meeka, tonight has been amazing. Better than any first date I’ve ever had. I hope you enjoyed yourself as well because I’ll be calling you tomorrow after work to ask you on a second date.”
I laughed when he kissed the top of each of my hands. “That sounds like a plan.” My eyes glanced down to the bulge in his pants. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’m good,” he answered, running his hands down his face. “If I could use your restroom, I’ll be out your hair soon.”
“Sure.” I pointed to my master bathroom, welcoming the moment away from him to get my bearings. Walking over to my window, I looked up at the sky and closed my eyes, a little ratchet rhyme immediately filling my thoughts because even though we weren’t having sex tonight, when we did, I’d need all the prayer I could get.
Opening my eyes to the moon, I whispered, “When he lays me down to sleep, I pray his dick don’t make me weep. For getting good dick is hard to find, but I can’t lose my state of mind.” I swallowed, flashes of our scorching kisses consuming my thoughts. I started counting backwards, hoping it’d somehow make me less horny. When that didn’t work, I finished my little ratchet rhyme.
“Although I may be ready for this passionate race, don’t let my crazy ass catch a case. So, Meeka, be chill. Meeka, be mellow.” The bathroom door opened and I almost tripped over my tongue upon noticing Tone’s journey to sin that curved into a perfect V and disappeared under his jeans. “Aw, fuck that, Meeka, you betta throw your pussy at this fellow.”
Forget what I’d said before. I was single as fuck and weak as hell when it came to a sexy chocolate man, especially this one. Sue me.

TONE
I’d walked out of the bathroom with every intention on putting my wine-stained shirt back on, grabbing my coat, and giving Meeka one last kiss before I headed out. However, one look at her standing at her window, hair mussed from kissing, clothes disheveled, looking at me as if she’d just read the menu of her favorite restaurant and discovered her favorite dessert, and that plan was shot.
She was whispering something to herself, but I couldn’t hear her from where I stood. She walked toward me, sexiness exuding from every part of her body. She was slightly knock-kneed and I hadn’t noticed it before. It was cute as hell and made her look clumsy and sexy at the same time. Her eyes were kinda darting all over the place, but I knew that was just Meeka. She usually had a hundred things running through her mind, but all I wanted to do in this moment was get her to stop thinking altogether.
I captured her lips the minute she was within reaching distance, our mouths melding together as if they’d never broken apart. We stumbled onto the bed, removing our boots and clothes in the process, apparel flying everywhere, landing in an array in her bedroom. I’d always preferred the act of making love slowly. Sensually. Heightening the desire with foreplay, teasing one another until someone finally gave in. I wanted to do that with Meeka. I wanted to savor her body. Make love to her mind. Show her how great things were when you waited two years to give into temptation.
None of that shit happened though. Once I got her completely naked, I only had about sixty seconds to stand back and observe her—noting the cute rose tattoo on the top of her hip and the slight bounce of her breasts as she fidgeted under my stare. You see, a full minute was more than some men needed before they dove right in, having sex without taking the time to fully appreciate the body they were about to connect with. For me, it wasn’t nearly as much time as I wanted to admire Meeka, but she encouraged me to remove my boxers, the last piece of clothing I was wearing, and put us both out of our misery.
I did what she asked, enjoying the slight gasp she released when I stood before her, dick throbbing, abs clenching as my breathing increased for no reason other than I was about to make love to a woman who’d stayed on my mind for more than forty-eight months whether I’d wanted her to be in my psyche or not.
I grabbed my jeans to get the condom I was glad I’d kept in my wallet. “Can I do it?” Meeka asked, her voice husky.
I handed it to her, but regretted it the moment she started sliding the condom down my shaft. Never, and I do mean never, in my damn life has the act of putting on a condom been so erotic. I worried I might bust a nut before I even got to slip inside of her sweetness.
She moved her hands so fucking slow, I groaned to the ceiling, pretty sure she was purposely grazing my balls as she did it. Once she’d made sure it was secure, I wrapped my arm around her and scooted her higher up on the bed.
“I don’t want to wait anymore,” she huffed. “I need you inside of me.”
Ahh. It was music to my ears, but I needed her to wait a little.
“Sorry, gorgeous, but there’s something I have to do first.” Without giving Meeka a chance to argue with me, I nudged open her legs and dipped my head to her clit, sliding my tongue up and down her lips, sampling her juices and enjoying the moans she was making.
“Oh myyyy … Tone, ohmygod, I can’t take it.” After a few seconds, she managed to scoot higher up on her bed until she was sitting upright, her back against her fabric headboard.
“Uh, where are you trying to go?”
She looked around her bed, like she wasn’t even sure. “It feels too good. You don’t have to do this.”
I shook my head. “Meeka, I’ve been waiting to do this for years.” Her angle didn’t matter. If anything, it made me want to taste her even more. Giving me a sly smile, she dropped her legs back and I took the invitation to resume my delicious meal, throwing one of her legs over my shoulder and angling her even more.
After a minute, Meeka began moving her hips to the rhythm of my mouth, meeting the strokes of my tongue. She was close to orgasming and I was ready for her. Then suddenly, she stopped moving and tapped on my head.
“Are you okay?” I studied her face. “I know I was enjoying myself, but let me know if I was doing something you weren’t comfortable with.
Exhaling, she said, “Okay, confession time. I was moreeeee than okay with everything you were doing. I’m woman enough to admit that I masturbate, but I haven’t had an orgasm from a man in a long ass time, so for some messed up reason, the closer I got to having an orgasm, the more antsy I got.”
I eyed her curiously. “Exactly how long has it been?” She mumbled something under her breath. “Huh? I didn’t catch that.”
She sighed. “It’s been three years.”
My lips curled to the side in a grin. Call me an arrogant motha fucka, but I was glad that she hadn’t been with anyone since we’d met. “Do you want me to stop?”
“No, I want you to finish.” She looked at me sheepishly. “I just wanted to warn you that I may need to talk during this orgasm.”
“I don’t get it.”
“I need to talk,” she repeated. “You keep doing what you’re doing with that naughty tongue of yours, but I need to talk while this happens. That’s the only way I can get through it.”
My boastful laugh was out before I could stop it because I had never heard any shit like that before in my life. Talk through an orgasm? “That’s a new one.”
“Shut up,” she squealed, playfully hitting me on the shoulder. “It’s not funny.”
I was really trying hard to stop laughing, but damn, she was the only woman who could make me laugh and turn me on in the same sentence.
I was still trying to get myself together, when she sang, “Hush Little Tony, don’t say a word. Meeka might give you her favorite bird.” She flipped me off, which made me laugh even more, but luckily, she started laughing along with me. She was in the middle of talking about god knows what when I dove right back in, my tongue picking up where I’d left off and shutting down her words.
Her orgasm exploded soon after, her hands gripping my head tight; her thighs crushing my head as her convul
sions continued. I didn’t mind the way she was reacting. Hell, I didn’t even mind that she was doing a combination of talking, singing, and rhyming. It was so … Meeka.
But all that shit stopped when I gently pulled her back down onto the mattress and slid into her wetness in one long stroke. Damn. She felt like heaven. Soft, warm, tight to the squeeze. By the time I looked down at her face, all of the talking and amusement ceased as I moved inside of her, emotions coaxing throughout my body that I hadn’t been prepared for, but welcomed all the same.
“Is this okay?” I asked, holding her gaze while placing soft kisses on her lips, collarbone, and neck.
“It’s perfect,” she whispered, while I increased my movements. After a while, the sensations in the pit of my stomach grew so strong, I couldn’t hold her eyes hostage any more. I was feeling everything at once and my gut was telling me she was feeling the same way. Emotions like this couldn’t be one-sided, and when she succumbed to another orgasm, I released my own, finally opening my eyes back up to watch the expressions crossing her face.
Over the past few weeks, I’d been going back and forth on what facial expression I liked on Meeka more because shorty had a lot of them to choose from. Leaning over her, I knew in that moment that her sexually satisfied, lopsided grin was my favorite.

MEEKA
“He takes you on one real date and already gets you in his bed?”
I gave Kelani a dreamy-eyed look. “Well, technically, I got him into my bed, but yeah, I guess that’s how it happened.”
I’d asked Kelani and Layla to meet me at a café down the street from my job so I could tell them about last night. No way I could keep this news to myself.
Layla leaned across the small, round table and gave me a high five. “I don’t blame you, sis! You’ve spent too much time panting over that dick, it was about damn time you finally got some.”
