AUTHORS NOTE
The ghostly stories that appear at the beginning of chapters two through five are excerpted from Nazo no Kaiki Gensho wo Ou (Examining Mysterious Ghostly Happenings) by Takashi Kitaoka, published in Tokyo by Kawade Shobo Shinsha, 1997.
This publication is a novelization of the straight-to-video features Ju-On: The Curse and ]u-On: The Curse 2, as well as the theatrical feature Ju-On: The Grudge, written and directed by Takashi Shimizu.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
KEI OHISHI was born in Tokyo in 1961, and graduated from the Faculty of Letters at Hosei University. In 1993, his book Hakiwasureta Mou Katahou no Kutsu (The Forgotten Shoe) was selected for commendation at the thirtieth Bungei-sho awards by Kawade Publishing. Other books include Itsuka Anata voa Mori de Nemuru (One Day You Will Sleep in the Forest) , ShusseUrutsu Zero (Birthrate Zero) , Shitai no Taion (Temperature of Corpses) , Shokei Ressha (Execution Train) , and Andaa Yua Beddo (Under Your Bed).
