The Golden Boy

“You love me?” It was a silly question, given his declaration, but it was all she could get herself to say.
“Yes. So much.” He cleared his throat and squeezed her hand. “I’ll say it again. As many times as you want, actually. I love you.” He took a step closer. “I’m in love with you. Everything about you. Your smile, your laugh, your big green eyes and that fiery red hair. I love how passionate you are about acting, and how crazy fucking talented you are when you do it.”
Kellie glanced at their hands and looked back to him, tears filling her eyes. “Cade…”
“And I know you may not trust me, or you might resent me because of how much of a dick I’ve been, but I’ll spend forever proving to you that I’ve changed.” He rambled on, his thumb lovingly caressing the warm skin of her hand, “I love you and I will do whatever it takes to have a chance with you.”
His words were surreal. Her stomach was warm, filled with excited butterflies that floated upwards until they tickled against her heart. They cradled the organ, practically suffocating it with affection and love, the same way that Cade was now doing to her.
With his big, brown eyes still locked on her own, she finally spoke the words that she held secret for so long. “I love you, too.” Just like that, the lock was tossed away, hopefully never to return again. Her heart now belonged to him, and while she usually despised clichés, this was one she very much could get behind.
Cade swallowed, his eyes wide. “You do? Really?”
Kellie blushed and nodded. “Yes. I think I always have.” When he surged forward and pressed a soft kiss to her lips, she laughed into his mouth. “Even when you were a massive asshole, I still fell in love with you.”
He kissed her again, his lips soft and firm and perfect against her own. It was the perfect balance—the best representation of their relationship. It was passionate and heated, without being too intense or rough. It was soft and loving, without being too timid or shy.
His hands moved to her hips and pulled her flush against his wet form. The moment she pressed against his wet body, she let out a laugh and shoved him backwards. Cade simply pulled her along, not resting until his lips were against hers again.
They stood on her front porch, continuing to kiss for minutes, the sound of the rain playing as a musical backdrop. In fact, Kellie swore they would have stayed out there, no cares in the world, if it hadn’t been for the afternoon breeze blowing the falling rain under her awning and against their busy forms.
“Let’s get you inside,” Kellie whispered against his lips, before pressing another small kiss to them, “You’re soaking wet.”
Cade followed her wordlessly, his much larger hand clasped in hers. Kellie guided him through the house, walking through her living space and hallway until they eventually ended up in the master bathroom. He simply stood and watched as she flipped the shower on, and turned to face him, her smile wide.
“You need to warm up. We don’t need our superhero getting sick, now do we?” She taunted, her eyes mischievous, “Your legion of online fans would kill me.”
With a smirk, he stepped forward and pulled her back into his arms. “I have a few ideas for how to warm me up.”
“Oh, please tell.”
He grinned. “It requires your participation.”
“Oh? Did you want me to make you some tea? Get a pot of soup going?”
Cade rolled his eyes and pushed her cardigan off her arms. Only when it dropped to the tile of her bathroom did he smile. “Nope. I’ll need some help reaching some difficult spots to clean. Like my back.”
Kellie hummed and helped him remove his wet jacket, followed by his damp t-shirt. When his beautiful chest was finally exposed to her hungry eyes, she bit her lip and nodded. “Ok. I suppose I could help. It’s only fair since you drove all the way out here to visit me.”
As soon as the words left her lips, Cade was kissing her again, his movements much more intense than before. With expert hands he quickly had her out of the rest of her clothes, leaving her nude under his appreciative gaze. “Fuck,” He whispered, his eyes exploring every inch of her naked skin, “You’re a fucking work of art, Kel.”
She couldn’t help but blush under his appreciative gaze. After pressing another kiss to his lips, she began to help Cade remove the rest of his own clothes. When he eventually stood just as nude as her, his excited cock pointing towards her with an agenda of its own, she pulled him towards the shower.
They settled underneath the steamy water, pressed against one another. It was a rather spacious shower, but Cade seemed intent to pretend it was a one-person stall. It gave him the excuse to hold her wrapped in his massive arms. As the warm water fell down on them, he pressed a loving kiss to the top of her head.
“I know there’s still a lot to figure out,” He began, his chin resting comfortably on the top of her head, “But I’m so fucking happy right now. Just being with you is unreal. Let alone holding you while you’re naked.” His eyes dropped to her body, prompting him to grin. “Because fuck, are you even more gorgeous without clothes on.”
Kellie gently shoved at his chest, even though his massive body didn’t move an inch. “I could say the same about you.”
“Then do it.” His smirk was lethal.
She rolled her eyes. “Fine. You’re fucking hot when you’re naked.”
Cade grinned. “Tell me more. Please.”
“God, you’re such an arrogant Hollywood actor, you know that?” She teased, her hands rubbing up and down his wet chest, “You need all these complements to thrive, don’t you?”
Cade just shrugged and kissed her again. “Only from you. I don’t give two fucks about what anyone else says.”
That made her smile. “You’re hot, ok? Your chest is insane. Your arms are so big. And don’t even get me started on your dick.”
Her words made him choke. “No, please get started on my dick! I want to hear every opinion you have on it.”
She shoved him again. “Nope. Maybe it’s your turn to start complementing every inch of my body. How about that?”
Cade pressed kisses down her face and jaw, before leaning into her neck. He gently bit at the skin and grunted. “Is that what you want? I’ll fucking write you a song about your ass and your legs. Just ask me and I’ll do it.”
His words had her flushing red. Not the hot water, or the way they held each other without an inch of space between them. His words. “Shut up, Cade. You’re too much.”
But he wasn’t deterred. He grinned and kissed her again. “I mean it. I’ll fucking serenade you if you want. I can’t sing for shit, but I’ll happily make a fool out of myself if it makes you smile.”
She nuzzled into his chest, buzzing happily from his words. “Yeah? You really mean that?”
“I told you. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove to you just how much I care about you. I fucked up before, but if you’re my girlfriend, I’ll do whatever it takes.”
Kellie swallowed and met his gaze. “Is that what I am? Your girlfriend?”
Cade pulled her tighter against his naked form, the hot water continuing to fall onto them. “If you’ll have me as your boyfriend, then yeah. I want you to be my girlfriend.”
“You’re not just saying that because I’m naked?”
He laughed, his soft eyes still on her. “I like you naked, but you could wear a trash bag for all I care. Just be with me, ok?” He cleared his throat and held her closer, “Please.”
Kellie pressed a gentle kiss to his chest, the only part of his body she could reach without standing on her tippy toes or with him bending over. “I want that too.” She kissed the skin again and grinned, “Boyfriend.”
Cade hummed and bent down, planting a big kiss on her lips. “Good, girlfriend. Now, will you help me wash my back?”
She rolled her eyes but grabbed her loofah. If it meant she could touch him again, she’d gladly wash every inch of his body. For Cade Campbell—with Cade Campbell—she would do pretty much anything.r />
He was her boyfriend, remember?
Chapter 15
Cade and Kellie were five weeks into filming Golden Phoenix, and they were taking things slowly. Well, if one could consider them fucking every minute they weren’t working as taking things slowly. Cade couldn’t help it, really—his new relationship with Kellie had opened Pandora’s box and since then, he couldn’t keep his hands off of her. Their sexual chemistry was on fire, and that burn only intensified when he thought about how desperately he loved her.
He was the happiest he had ever been in his entire life. He dreamed that those feelings of pure happiness and pleasure would never end. Kellie seemed to feel the same way, and that made it all the better. Especially the pleasure portion, of course.
“Fuck! Faster, Cade!” Kellie cried out, moving her hips as she rode him into oblivion, “You feel so good. I’m so close!” Her fingernails dug into his bare chest, most likely leaving him with ten identical half-moon indents. He’d claim them as a badge of honor.
“That’s it, gorgeous,” He cooed, his hands tightening around her hips, “Come for me. I want to see you fall apart.”
His request seemed to do it for her. In moments, Kellie was crying out, continuing to ride him as her body shook with pleasure. Cade could barely contain himself, either—the feeling of her wet heat gripping him was incomparable. It was one of his favorite activities—tied only with kissing her and making her smile.
“CADE!” Her squeals filled his ears until he felt his own orgasm take over. They only lasted a few moments longer of rocking into each other before Kellie collapsed onto his chest, Cade panting into her ear.
Afterwards, they laid in bed, a pile of sweaty limbs and satiated smiles, for what felt like hours. Cade just couldn’t come up with a reason to do anything else. Kellie was soft, and smooth, and smelled good. He’d happily keep her on top of him for as long as she’d allow him to.
Besides, today was one of their first (and only) days off that overlapped. As the lead actor in the film, Cade was in nearly every scene. As a result, he didn’t have much time off during filming, or at least anywhere close to what Kellie had, given that she had less screen time. Thankfully, the next three days were scheduled to film a lot of the scenes of their villain and his backstory, meaning neither Cade nor Kellie were needed on set.
It was a very welcomed break for the pair. In the suburbs of Atlanta, where they were hunkered down filming, there wasn’t all that much to do. So, they happily stayed in Cade’s temporary housing, spending a few hours by the pool before wasting hours watching old sitcoms on Netflix.
Eventually, those innocent activities turned more carnal in nature. It was understandable—Cade was only human. After hours with Kellie in just one of his t-shirts, her soft skin touching his, he was bound to crack. Which he did, after another episode of Friends, Kellie wiggling against him on the couch in his rented apartment.
They warmed up on the sofa, before migrating to the shower, and eventually ending up in his bed, a tangled mess of limbs, warm skin, and damp hair. As much as he loved acting—and as a result, being on set and filming—his dreams took a backstage to the experience of making love with Kellie. It was that surreal.
Indescribable, really. It certainly explained why the two of them were always left as whimpering messes after hitting their peaks. Cade figured it was making up for lost time spent as platonic friends or tense rivals. And, most importantly, they were good at it.
Now, they laid in his bed, holding each other close. It was a hot and humid day in Georgia, and even with the air-conditioning on, their lovemaking certainly had warmed up the place. But Cade would push through. Holding Kellie close negated any discomfort with the heat.
“I know you worked so hard to get your superhero body,” Kellie began, her voice soft. Her fingers traced soft patterns along the skin of his chest, leaving him with goosebumps along every place she touched. “And don’t get me wrong. You’ve always been hot. But now?” She moaned and pressed a kiss to his chin, her eyes playful, “It’s fucking unreal. You’re like a statue or something.”
Well, her praise certainly felt good. Especially after the many weeks spent training and eating as healthy as possible. “You look amazing too.” Which she did. Kellie always did. But their time training had not only brought them together—it also gave him weeks of watching her kick ass in nothing but tight spandex.
Cade watched as Kellie wiggled out of his hold and sat up on the bed. She looked like an angel in the soft light of the room, painting her nude skin gold. She just grinned. “If you were really a superhero, what would your power be?” She asked, her hands moving to rest on his stomach. “Nothing is off limits.”
He pushed himself up on his elbows, continuing to watch her. “Nothing? So, I can say anything?”
She pursed her lips. “Sure.”
“How about no refractory period?”
Kellie groaned and smacked his chest. “Sometimes you are so predictable.”
He just smirked. “What? Do you think it’s a bad choice? I think it would be extremely useful.”
With not much finesse, Kellie glanced at his now blanket-covered lower half and hummed. “I suppose it’s useful. But that couldn’t possibly be your choice if you had literally any power at your fingertips.”
Cade nodded and fully sat up, his back hitting the bed’s headboard with a thud. “Alright, alright, fair enough.” He grabbed her hand and kissed it, before adding, “For the record, I would want that. But also… The ability to fly would be pretty cool. Then I could avoid LA traffic.” He paused, considering what else. “Oh! And the ability to talk to dogs.”
Kellie grinned, seemingly appeased by his answers. “Talking to dogs? Of everything in the world?”
Shrugging, he moved his focus to her bare legs. They were long and gorgeous and so very close to him. It made it hard to focus. “Yeah. Dogs are so pure. Loyal, kind—”
“And adorable.”
He laughed and nodded. “Yeah, adorable. I just think it would be fun to know what one is thinking about when you rub their belly or watch TV with them.”
“I never had a pet growing up,” Kellie explained, an underlying sadness to her voice, “I always wanted one. A dog was my preference, but I would have taken anything. A cat, a hamster, a bunny…” She shrugged. “It just never worked out and now I’m always on the road.”
Cade hummed and squeezed her hand. “I know the feeling. I had a dog growing up for a little bit. He was my best friend until he got hit by a car when I was ten.”
She frowned and leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. “I’m sorry. What was his name?”
“Donatello. I called him Donny.”
Her soft smile had any open wounds of his patching up in seconds. “Sounds like you were a big Ninja Turtles fan.”
Cade shrugged, playing coy. “I watched occasionally.”
Kellie shifted on the bed and returned to laying beside him, expertly tucking her head onto his chest. “I’m sure.”
“I’ve been thinking a lot about getting a dog,” Cade continued, his fingers twirling her damp, auburn locks, “I think it’s time. I’m finally ready.”
She hummed into his chest. “Did I domesticate Cade Campbell? He went from eternal bachelor to locked down with a puppy on the way.”
Her teasing words did have some truth to them. He loved devoting himself to Kellie, even in their short time together so far. If he could devote himself to the woman he loved, then surely he was finally ready to adopt a dog, a dream of his for most of his life. Besides, he just knew Kellie would be incredible with whichever lucky dog he’d welcome into his home.
“What can I say? It’s easy to change when you’re with someone you love.”
Kellie bit her lip and kissed him gently. “You’re too sweet. I sort of miss the asshole Cade.”
At her words, he couldn’t help but smirk. “You want me to be a jerk? Will us fighting turn you on?”
She smacked his chest
. “Honestly, you’re insatiable. I don’t get it.”
“You don’t get it? Have you seen yourself? You’re a walking, talking, aphrodisiac. Scientists could write entire journals and theses on you. You’re a fucking world wonder, Kellie.” He stared at her, his eyes dropping to her perfect pink lips. “I’d have to be fucking dead to not be affected by you.” After a moment, he added, “Actually, I’d still come back as a fucking zombie just to go nuts for you.”
The adorable reddening of her cheeks had him mesmerized. She seemed to like his words, and well, Cade enjoyed making his girlfriend blush. Kellie leaned forward and kissed him gently, her eyes sparkling with something he couldn’t put his finger on.
“I hate to break it to you, but Zombie Cade is where I draw the line,” She explained sadly, her lips still twitching into a smile, “I take hygiene very seriously. Not having a pulse is a deal breaker for me.”
Cade cursed. “I guess it was wrong for me to believe that you could love me unconditionally.”
Kellie rolled her eyes and kissed him again. “I just think having dinner with someone who regularly ate human flesh would be difficult. I mean, what would my parents think?”
“They’d probably have no problem with it if I turned them into zombies, too.”
At her laugh, they drifted into a comfortable stretch of silence, only the gentle buzzing of the air conditioning infiltrating the quiet. Cade took to rubbing her back, absolute enamored with her smooth skin, and Kellie focused her efforts on playing with his hair. He loved the feelings of her fingers playing with his dark locks, and he didn’t think that enjoyment would ever get old.
“Cade?” Kellie was the first to break their conversation lull.
“Mhm?”
She cleared her throat and met his gaze. “How is this going to work?”
Cade was tempted to play stupid and ask what she meant, but deep down, he knew. It was a question on his mind as well. While Kellie had been in LA, distance hadn’t been an issue. The same was the case while they were filming. But even with two more films down the road, they wouldn’t always have overlapping schedules. At some point, they’d film movies without one another. Kellie could return to the stage.
