  Fewer bullwhips though, probably.

Anyhow, if you’re interested in reading about the rest of Phin and Raina’s family, check out Highlander Ever After. They’re fabulously fun fairy tale re-imaginings set in the Highlands, ushered along by a cast of kooky godmothers who are determined to make sure the heroines (Cinderella and her stepsisters) get their happily ever afters!

  And now…

You’re probably chomping at the bit for the next Second Chance Manor book, aren’t you? Well, you’re in luck, because I, personally, have been waiting forever to see who Lady Charity Manners ends up with! Surely someone as free-spirited and whimsical as she will fall in love with an equally adventurous hero, right?

Wait, what’s that? Viscount Wilton? The man’s as stuck-up, prim, and proper as you can get! Scarlett thinks the two of them belong together?

Well buckle up, friends, and get ready for an epic ride…in Scarlett Scott’s The Venus and the Viscount!

While I am grateful for the opportunity to find a potential bride during my stay here in Yorkshire at Fangfoss Manor, I must admit to grave disappointment in my hostess at the inclusion of a scandalous lady such as Lady Charity Manners in the company. I have no doubt the rumors concerning Lady Charity are true and that she did indeed pose en dishabille for the recent painting of Venus at her bath. Having seen the picture in question on display at the Grosvenor Gallery myself and also having made the acquaintance of Lady Charity, I can attest to the gossip’s credence. She is one of the most maddening ladies I have ever met.

While she may be lovely enough to portray Venus, Lady Charity is also far too bold, too loud…too everything that is the opposite of what any sane gentleman would wish for in a wife. Fortunately, there are a number of ladies in attendance possessing far more admirable qualities than she. I begin my search for a viscountess with highest of hopes this summer and a firm determination to keep my distance from Lady Charity Manners…

It was just a few kisses in the moonlight. They mean nothing. I do not even like Viscount Wilton. He is boring and staid and utterly pompous. He is the sort of man who believes rules were made to be followed and society’s dictates ought never to be challenged. Moreover, his lordship did not know it was me who he kissed with such surprising skill. Thanks to the anonymity of the masque ball and the darkness of the evening, my secret shall be forever safe.

Unless I tell him the truth…

  About the Author

Caroline Lee has been reading romance for so long that her fourth-grade teacher used to make her cover her books with paper jackets. But it wasn't until she (mostly) grew up that she realized she could write it too. So she did.

Caroline is living her own little Happily Ever After in NC with her husband, sons, and new daughter, Princess Wiggles. And while she doesn't so much "suffer" from Pittakionophobia as think that all you people who enjoy touching Band-Aids and stickers are the real weirdos, she does adore rodents, and never met a wine she didn't like. Caroline was named Time Magazine's Person of the Year in 2006 (along with everyone else) and is really quite funny in person. Promise.

You can find her at www.CarolineLeeRomance.com.
