“I’ve got it.” Chloe bobbed onto her knees. “What if we get married while we’re here?”
“What? You’re crazy.” Davis laughed, shaking his head.
“People do it all the time, don’t they? Have destination weddings in the tropics.” Chloe glanced around at all of them, her eyes bright with excitement.
“Actually,” Piper peeked up at Rafe, her cheeks turning bright red, “we can’t have a joint wedding. Rafe and I already got married.”
“What?” Chloe jumped from the couch, causing Jake to grunt as she pushed off of him. “You got married without us?”
Rafe stared down at Piper. “When Piper asked, I couldn’t say no.”
“You asked?” Davis’s jaw dropped as he stared at his sister.
She shrugged. “I wasn’t going to spend another moment daydreaming about marrying him if I didn’t have to. Are you mad we didn’t wait?”
Davis’s forehead scrunched before it smoothed. “As long as you’re happy, I’m happy.”
“Well, I’m not happy.” Chloe waved her hands. “We were supposed to help each other plan our weddings.”
“I’ll need your help with a reception.” Piper stood and crossed to Chloe and grabbed her hands. “Plus, with you getting married soon, we’ll have lots to do planning the wedding of your dreams.”
“I’ve been thinking a remote wedding in the mountains would be nice.” Chloe wrapped her arm around Piper’s back and turned to Jake. “Maybe flying everyone into the cabin that brought us together?”
“Whatever makes you happy, makes me happy.” Jake’s lip twitched on one side as he stared up at Chloe.
Derrick glanced at Davis and rolled his eyes. Davis pretended to gag, making Derrick laugh. Maybe getting all lovey-dovey wasn’t such a good idea. Besides, rescuing and rehabilitating abused horses and providing security for the rich kept him more than fulfilled. Having a relationship would just muck things up.
