“Earth gave me her best—a human temple to enclose My Divinity, and I brought her the possession of Divine Power, Divine Love, Divine Strength” (August 19 devotional).

  (4) The New Age and occult teach that every man from birth automatically has God within, whereas the Bible instructs us that only after a person accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior does the Holy Spirit enter within. God Calling goes along with the New Age doctrine:

“Wherever the soul is I am. Man has rarely understood this. I am actually at the centre of every man’s being...” (March 26 devotional.)

  (5) God Calling, in contrast to the Bible, denies that a believer must accept Jesus as Lord and be born again (see John 3:3). Instead, according to God Calling, all that’s necessary is that the person be conscious that “God” is already present within, then union (a Hindu concept) can occur:

Union with Me may be the result of just consciousness of My Presence. (April 23 devotional.)

  (6) New Age and occult religion is based on communication with demon spirits. In contrast, the Bible calls communication with the spirit world an abomination to the Lord (see Deuteronomy 18). God Calling falls in the New Age and occult camp by clearly calling on readers to make contact and keep company with spirits from the dead. For example, we find this declaration in God Calling: “Trust in the Spirit Forces of the unseen, not in those you see...”

The devotional of September 6 also encourages us to communicate with the dead in the “Unseen World:”

How often mortals rush to earthly friends who can serve them in so limited a way, when the friends who are freed from the limitations of humanity can serve them so much better, understand better, protect better, plan better, and even plead better their cause with Me.

You do well to remember your friends in the unseen. Companying with them the more you live in this Unseen World, the gentler will be your passing when it comes.

  And More Heresies...

This is only a sampling of the many false teachings found throughout God Calling. Contrary to the Holy Bible, this unholy book also teaches that it is our works that get us into heaven, that we can become wealthy through a “name it and claim it” gospel, that we are to consider God as “business manager and owner” whom we go to with our demands, that man is himself divine and has “God” inside of him, that initiation is required of the believer rather than regeneration, that man’s ultimate goal is to attain material things, that we should not wait upon God for our needs but instead “walk into... and take,” that God resides in a place called the “Spirit World,” and that Jesus’ return depends not on God’s timetable but upon the actions of mankind.

Finally, God Calling instructs the reader to forget Bible doctrine and theology, just know him, the demon spirit who is the author of God Calling: “Know no theology. Know me... all you need to know about God you know in me.” (November 20 devotional.)

But Jesus cannot be separated from His Word. He is revealed to us by the Bible. This is why Paul told us to “preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (II Timothy 4:2).

  Who’s Behind God Calling?

The devil well knows that if he can separate us from God’s Word, the one and only true Bible, we will fall prey to every wind of doctrine—even to the doctrines of demons. This is why Christians must shy away from embracing the New Age “Bibles” and “scriptures” that Satan’s minions are putting out at such a rapid clip today. The Holy Spirit bears witness that our inspiration is to come only from keeping in our hearts God’s established Word:

I will not forget thy Word (Psalm 119:16).

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).

Forever, 0 Lord, thy Word is settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89).

But the Word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the Word which by the gospel is preached unto you. (1 Peter 1:25).

PART FIVE: STARRY, STARRY NIGHTS... BRIGHT NEW DAY

  Chapter 16

What to Do Until the Millennium Comes

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (Revelation 17:14)

We are entering an incredible Seventh Millennium of man on planet earth. What is in your immediate future? What lies just ahead for your loved ones? The 1990s are the threshold to what appears to be two dramatic possibilities for humankind. On the one hand it is conceivable that God, in His own Wisdom and timing, will decide to end the age and to usher in His own glorious one thousand-year millennial reign. On the other hand, we are being offered quite a different millennium by the powers that be.

If we are to believe our politicians, the international propagandists, and the economists, we are now entering the most promising decade in. the annals of human history. They say that this is to be an era of unparalleled peace, wealth, and tranquility. Seemingly, a way has been found to insure perpetual prosperity, harmony and love between all men. A universal religion and a one world political/economic order are to be the vehicles sure to send us radiantly smiling and euphorically blissful into the glorious, man-made Seventh Millennium.

As I write this book, economies are booming, money is flowing, communist regimes are in disarray everywhere, and democracy is on the rise. Some even predict a One World Democratic Order. Peace seems to be breaking out all over. Interest in religion is at an all-time high. Politicians promise the best is yet to come. What could possibly go wrong?

In the book of Daniel, we find that there are certain prophetic events that are determined (Daniel 11:36). In other words, they will occur in God’s timing and there is absolutely nothing man can do to hurry them up or prevent them. If we are truly to understand the age in which we live, and conduct ourselves honorably while living joyously each day, we need to be aware of these prophetic events which are forecasted by God’s Word. We should, therefore, believe God and not man.

While world leaders promise us a sparkling 1990s and a shining, pleasure-filled future, the awful truth is far different. I believe the very foundations of our democratic institutions have begun to crack and crumble. Immorality and a loss of faith in God prove our civilization to be in precariously dangerous circumstances. A strange new world, a remarkable new vista is beckoning mankind into murky and uncharted waters. In Millennium I have attempted to navigate those waters using Bible prophecy and the inner guidance of the Holy Spirit as my navigational tools.

When we survey the world about us, and consider the staggering events that are occurring as well as the ominous landscape that has been prepared for us by the Adversary, our minds virtually go numb. It is undeniable that a plot exists so grave and hideous it should cause Christians everywhere to shake their heads in sadness. If it were not for the grace of God, none of us could face the perilous times ahead without suffering extreme fear and anxiety.

For 6,000 years Satan and an unredeemed, rebellious humanity have jointly conspired against God. But this rebellion is now in its last stages. The beast is about to be released from the catacombs, and he will amble his way recklessly toward his ultimate destiny as he journeys to Jerusalem. The dark storm clouds have gathered, now comes the deluge. Yet, rest assured it will all be followed by a bright new day.

The Order and its Lords of Money are motivated by money. Yes, the love of money is the root of all evil. Any true Christian knows that our hope is not in gold and silver. Not surprisingly, James told us that in the last days rich men would “weep and howl” for the miseries that come upon them. Their riches, he prophesied, would be corrupted, their gold and silver tainted. Prophesied James “Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days” (James 5:3).

The question, then, arises: In what or whom can we place our hope? The magnificent answer: in Jesus Christ. He alone is the blessed hope of believers (I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

I am not at all dismayed about the coming hard tim
es. Forces that oppose goodness and righteousness desire us to fear them. But that is not the way of Christians. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. Paul said it best as he outlined all of the things that the Adversary sends our way, hoping to dissuade us and keep us from our appointed tasks in bringing the Great Commission to the world. He says that:

...neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

God will always stand by His children. Once the elitists have their way and the country plunges headlong into the valley of economic fear, despair, and misery, then moral and spiritual stamina will be required of each of us. In the Great Depression of the 30s, those who were part of strong family units and retained their faith in God prospered spiritually, and were even fortified. For those who have families, I pray that you will strengthen your families and together work joyously as we approach that fantastic day when Jesus Christ comes again.

If perchance you do not have a family by inheritance that you can cling to, whose members you can count on and trust, always remember that all of us who know Christ Jesus as Lord are in the same family. I am your brother, and you have many more brothers and sisters as well. But more important, you have a heavenly Father who loves you dearly—and died on the cross just for you to prove His love.

Our heavenly Father promised us He would come again and receive us to Himself. Could Jesus Christ Himself come again this decade? I believe with all my heart that this wonderful and exciting possibility exists. True, mortal man cannot know the day nor the hour; yet the Lord Himself advised us to “watch,” for “when ye shall see all these things know that it is near, even at the doors” (Matthew 24:13, 33).

In Millennium, my fervently desired goal has been to encourage readers to be watchful and to develop a hopeful expectation of His soon return. Though there be cloudy and dark days ahead and even lightnings, thunders, rain, and stormy weather, I am not at all downcast. Every morning when I look in the mirror, I can smile. You see, some years ago I was chosen to live and reign with God in His coming millennium on planet earth. How about you? Will you be there with me in that era when peace and prosperity are guaranteed? Will you be there after the promises of men are proven fruitless and those of God come fully into reality? Will you be side-by-side with me and thousands of others as we sing a song of victory, joyous in the knowledge that all the kingdoms of earth have finally and forevermore become His? If you want Jesus Christ to cleanse and make you whole, if you are willing to commit your life, heart and soul to Him, I pray you will call on Him today. If you will, I promise—He will answer.

And in the days of these kings shall the God of Heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be lost to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. (Daniel 2:44)
