My Savage

Page 22

by Ellie Jean

Revving the motor, I change gears and listen to the grunt.

  “See there’s—”

My cell cuts in, cutting her off. “Yeah?”

“O, we need you at The Gem now.” Slate’s demanding voice slices through the car just like we’d planned.

“I have Emerald with me, she’s listening to the motor. Can it wait?”

Patience isn’t Slate’s virtue. “Fuck, no it can’t wait. Bring her too. The private function is out of control. We need you to help sort the shit out with one of your old customers.”

Emerald shakes her head. “I can hear you, you know.”

“I know. Get that ass of yours here fast.”

  “You’re so fucking bossy.”

  “Yeah, and…?”

“We’re on our way. Be there in about fifteen.”

By the time we arrive, Emerald’s a hundred percent certain there is no problem and I agree with her finally.

“Come on. You may as well come in too and grab a cool drink. You know your husband, it could take a while.”

“He’s gonna have to pay me for standing around doing nothing.”

“I’m sure he won’t care.” Walking out of the elevator, I usher her toward the private room. “You can grab a drink at the bar in here, you know it has the better liquor selection.”

I stop but keep walking with her and open the door.

  “Surprise.”

Emerald stops, and I run into her, pushing her forward more.

  “Damn. What the hell?”

Slate comes over and lunges at her, sweeping her off her feet and passionately kisses her in his arms. A public display of affection is rare.

Looking past the scene meant for the bedroom, I search for Phoebe. My legs instantly stride to her. “Fuck. You blow my mind, baby.” Dressed in a short vibrant blue dress, Phoebe outshines everyone.

Swirling around, her skirt flairs and I get a small glimpse of her delectable pussy. Devouring her tonight is on the list.

“I’m so glad you like it. Crystal of course helped us all pick out an outfit. I just love this vivid blue. I think it makes my eyes look good.”

“It makes everything look fucking fantastic, but you always do.” Leaning in, I can’t hold back, I take her in my arms and take her breath away with a kiss. My heart rate ramps up and it will stay there knowing Phoebe is within arm’s reach tonight and I can pull her into our world anytime we feel like it. Getting more comfortable, we are moving ahead together at a nice pace.

Her chest heaves but it’s amazing to watch her look calm and confident with us now.

“Come on, let’s mingle.” Taking her hand, I want to hold it all night, I lead her to the others who are now through the pleasantries and the excitement of Emerald arriving.

“How’s this, little princess?” Phoebe leans down and runs her finger over the cheek of our family’s newest arrival, Trinity Margo Melody Daisy Draycott. I almost laugh out loud when I think of all the names Lace decided to give their bouncing baby girl. But I couldn’t because their thoughtfulness including Melody’s name moved me to tears when we went into the hospital cutting our cabin trip short once again. But they’re family.

“Keeping her mama up at night.” Caden holds on to Lace’s waist and they both smile proudly.

“It won’t last. She’s so tiny, she must get hungry a lot.”

“Like every two hours at the moment. It’s draining for sure. But I love it and snuggle time is special.” Lace can’t take her eyes from her daughter and the delicate unicorn sitting in the stroller with her.

“We’ll be able to pair our kids up in a few years.” Tanner and Crystal join us with their sleeping bundle in the stroller. Emerald and Slate have disappeared.

“Fuck no. Not happening.” Caden shuts that idea down fast. I don’t blame him. “Having you as a parent-in-law, no thank you.”

Phoebe laughs as do Crystal and Lace.

“I guess it wouldn’t work anyway, I wouldn’t want Jayce having to sit on the back of his old lady’s motorbike.”

Crystal spits out her drink and Lace scowls. “He doesn’t get on my bike. It’s for me only.”

“Sure, whatever you say.” Tanner knows how to stir trouble.

“You’re all very lucky to have such beautiful families,” Phoebe interjects. “They are so precious.”

We all contemplate our circumstances and agree.

  “Wanna dance?”

“As long as it’s not on a pole. I need a few drinks before that will happen.” Going via the bar, we grab a drink and get the music going. The girls organized for the sitter to take the babies upstairs in about an hour so we can enjoy ourselves. It’s only a minute up the elevator for feeding when needed.

“We heard there was a party going on?” Loud and brash, the Alpha Devils MC president charges through the doors with a group of leather-clad men and women.

“Daddy, you came.” Lace runs across to Chains and the men and women disperse and find a drink. Watching Caden push the stroller across the floor does something to my chest. My heart swells and there’s a longing to have what he has.

  One day it will happen.

“Who are they?” Phoebe clings to my side, panic rises in her voice.

“Chains is Lace’s dad, and her three brothers are here somewhere. They haven’t seen Trinity, so inviting them to the reception killed two birds with one stone.”

“I didn’t really think Lace was part of such a big MC club. Wow.”

  “Yeah, she’s still their princess.”

Slate and Emerald appear from somewhere looking like they’ve been having wild sex, Tanner and Crystal join the group hugging and slapping one another on the back.

“Good you’re here, bro.” Mav joins us with Beth behind him. “How are you, Beth?”

Smiling gently, she nods. “Good now I’m off that hard seat. It’s such a long way.”

Phoebe grips my waist and I keep a hold of hers. This woman is already claimed and everyone that walked through that door needs to know she’s mine. “Phoebe, this is Mav, Lace’s brother and Beth.”

Her eyebrows raise and her smile gets larger. “Nice to meet you both. I’ve heard a little about you, Beth, from the girls.”

She laughs. “I hope it wasn’t too bad.”

“Nope, all good.” Phoebe relaxes a little.

“Enjoy your time with us guys. Catch you both soon.” Walking away with my woman, the loudness has quadrupled, and I want alone time with my hot, sexy as sin woman.

“Fuck, I want to devour you now, rip those clothes from your delectable body and have your legs wrapped around my ears.”

Spurting out her mouthful of liquor, she stops and giggles. “Is that all?”

“Of course not. But it’s a start.” I swing her around and kiss her lips.

Placing her down, her eyebrows draw together.

  “What’s wrong, baby?”

Tentatively, she looks up. “I got the results from the paternity test.”

Phoebe had been quick to decide she needed to know if the man she knew as her dad was actually him so she could put the past behind her and keep moving on. It had taken me only a week to find the low life, giving him the joyous news his son was dead and the revelation he confessed about Phoebe’s mother. It wasn’t pretty, but I’d got a syringe of blood from him, against his wishes but when I want something for my girl, I won’t stop until I get it. He soon realized that when I put a gun to his head and made him stick the needle into his own thigh giving us his blood for the test. I explained to Phoebe the day after that he had been willing to help. She didn’t need to know the explicit details.

  “And?”

“No, he wasn’t. So I’m back to square one.”

Holding on to her, I sense relief but a tinge of sadness. “Well, at least you know for sure now. We can start looking for your mother and father when you digest this.”

“I’m not going to rush. It makes no difference who these people are really. I’
ve never known them and honestly at the moment I don’t think I want to. I don’t need to know to be happy. I’m the happiest I’ve been with my new family.”

Kissing her head, I wrap her in my arms.

“But there is another thing on my mind though. One that has been bothering me.”

“You can tell me anything.” Hiding her face into my chest, I know she’s worried about what she has to say.

“My world has been different from everyone’s.” My arms rub against her body, the soft velvet material makes my cock harder.

But I digress. I’m so easily side-tracked by my beauty. I wonder what’s going through her pretty mind?

“We’ve all had different paths to get here, Phoebe. But we support and keep one another safe. That’s all that matters.”

“Yeah, but I could never ride a motorbike or throw a weapon or design model quality clothing. I can’t fix a car and don’t understand how driving a car at warp speed can be exhilarating. I had to close my eyes and was shaking the entire race the other night. I’m still scared by Slate and I’m not really sure how to take Tanner.”

Phoebe had shown my parents how strong she could be but she still struggled around my friends at times. Day by day Phoebe’s confidence is growing and I am humbled when she divulges a little bit of how she’s feeling.

“Baby, I wouldn’t be here with you if you weren’t who you are, Phoebe. My heart always belonged to you. From when I was a teenager, I knew that the girl in that small grocery shop was for me. I’d waited day and night in the shadows for you to walk past so I could watch you talk to yourself on your way home to hell. I could hear sometimes the raised voices when I came and sat by your house late at night so I could be near you even though you had no idea, knowing I could do nothing about it but listen and take in what you must be going through. The pain but determination mixed in your eyes called to me. I knew you were strong. I saw it in your eyes and the way you took care of your family despite how they treated you.”

Gazing up at me, the chandelier light bounces from her crystal blues. “I had no idea.”

“But I let you down. And I let myself down. I wasn’t man enough to rescue you then, Phoebe. Not settled with my life, I grew agitated, dangerous, and destructive. I became ruthless and merciless in all things. Except for where Melody was concerned, but even then, if she had a problem, that’s how I tackled it. Someone above aligned the universe knowing it was our time. Time for me to finally be a worthy man of someone who needed to be cherished and taken care of. Time for us both to heal and create good, lasting memories together.”

Squeezing her tiny frame against me harder, Phoebe lifts her chin. “I love you.”

Taking her flawless lips, I will never take those words for granted.

“I love you. Every damn part of you.” Souls have no time restrictions. They know nothing about distance but feel absence. Our souls together again, can move as one and find lasting love like they deserve.

Phoebe’s started the healing process and I tell her every day how much having her with me, taking on my dark days when hate fills me so badly I need to scream, means to me. She’s my crutch and I’m her support. She brings me peace, calms my ass, and fills me with love, healing me.

Melody may be gone, my family and Phoebe’s will never be functional, but that will make us even stronger and more determined to get our family how we want it to be, for us.

Holding her in my arms, our hearts beating next to one another, swaying to the music, we finally have our time.

  Soul mates.

  Forever.

  The End.
