Gryff the Griffin Rider 2

The battle deteriorated quickly. No griffins landed. No griffins needed to land. The Horde broke. They broke so completely it would take days to scour them all from our forests. That was how the Battle of Fernlan ended.

It started with a beheading of a demigod and ended when an army of demigod griffins that burned the Horde to a full rout.

I was rummaging the battlefield looking for loot. Not sure why. Mainly because there was still sporadic fighting and being inside felt wrong. So I went beyond what was once our barrier. I was just getting used to it being so much larger too. Life would be drastically different. There were a lot of harvestable hearts in these fields that would change so much. I probably should be cutting ogre organs free instead of kicking around dead bodies looking for soul stones.

“I liked your plan Gryff,” King Aves said as he landed with an earth shaking thud beside me. “He never thought you would break the barrier to strike him. It was almost like cheating… We discussed it and decided it was allowed. That idiot demigod never saw it coming. ”

He was certainly in a good mood. I was sour though and he saw this.

“I know you valued your protections. Fear not Gryff. The path to victory is clear. You are growing your forces exactly like us. We will keep mating, we can hunt now and help on the tundra. There is so much this opens up. We can even land on other continents now. Assuming we do that large nagging item on your to do list.” King Aves said giving me a bump.

“Hold on let me get my pen and paper,” I said reaching into my bag. I was ready to copy. “Okay, what am I adding to the… to do list. Oh, wise and illustrious King Aves.”

A cackling laughter erupted from the mighty griffin. “Close the portal to Vin!”

I notated the obvious line and grinned in triumph. Things were drastically improving for me and mine. I had some babies to get to know, cities to grow, business ventures to expand, places to explore, and slave markets to exploit.

  THE END

  AFTERWORD

I want to go over a few things with you. I fought over the angst of writing for years. Now that I have found a groove, I admit, that I am a tad addicted. I have been writing non stop since September and have been loving it. Well, I have looked into hiring an editor. The kind where there is no syntax and grammar errors or my money back guarantee. They are not cheap… The worst quote was $24,000 USD for Gryff 1. Not even close to what I can afford based on what the book earns. I still feel self publishing is my only option for now. I say this for a few reasons. First, sorry if something slips past my edits. I love reading my books. After the seventh time, I skim… I try not to. Next is if you find something and are willing to note it to me, then please do so. I have facebook, discord, and blog/website is in the works. Also hiring a website person. My goal is to handle other stuff less if I can afford and grind out more writing. It is the readers who really transformed Gryff from a hundred plus errors to far fewer distractions.

Art!!! I love art. With that in mind, I have zero artistic skills. I post my submissions to my artist with a box for where I want a character. Why a box with the word babe you ask? Because the stick figure was too much. The last girl ended up with a beard… I am that bad. The art costs money I am willing to invest in because I feel it is awesome. I hope you do too. I like art so much I wanted an exit cover for my Gryff series. Which spoiler. Gryff 3 in the works. Then it is Augmented Bounty Hunter next for the Game of Planets series.

Oh! The narrators for Gryff 1 is hard at work. Not sure if you listen to audiobooks or are interested, but I will be producing all my books into audio.

The dreaded review request. Let me be honest. It is a gut punch when someone says your work is garbage. Hey, I can handle it though, get up and drive on. You know what got Gryff 2 produced. Those 4, and 5 stars. I love them and they help. I still read them all, even if I tell myself not to. So sincerely. If you read this book, enjoyed it, and invested the time to leave a review… Thank you!

What happens next? I keep writing stories I hope you enjoy. I will work on improving and trying to provide quality content. Speaking of which. You ever read a story with seven pages of filler text of conversations that don’t build a character or contribute to the plotline. I have. I try to keep everything flowing and pertenient. My settings need some work, and some conversations are a tad shallow. It is all a balancing act. If you find one thing missing, or overdone let me know. And why you feel that way helps. If you reach out to me I am pretty good at saying hello.

Goodbye for now. Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed the story, art, and that you will help free Vin with Gryff by leaving a review.
