This series has been a real journey for me, both professionally and personally. When I began the first book, Runaway Girl, I had no idea I would ever come to actually have it published. It was just a way for me to vent about some things that had been going on in my personal life at the time. When that moved on into a series and I was able to develop the characters I had created, it opened up a whole new exciting world of possibilities.
Watching Anna, Freddie and Tanya evolve under my fingertips has been like watching real people. Over the three books so far, they’ve taken on huge personalities of their own. Sometimes even I don’t know what they’re going to do or come out with next! I feel like the struggles they face in Boss Girl have really drawn out deeper parts of their personalities that are very raw and real. The simultaneous weakness and strength that Tanya displays throughout this book is something I have particularly enjoyed uncovering. I’ve had a great number of you contact me in different ways over the last two books to tell me she’s your favourite character and I can really see why.
I’m looking forward to developing this world and these amazing, colourful, flawed characters even further in book four, so watch this space!
