First Match

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and picked up her suitcase. There’d be time to explain how he’d worked to make his home a place she could live. It had been ready for the last two years, but he hadn’t told her. He’d wanted the decision to return to remain with her. It had to be her choice. And now she’d made it.

They walked silently up to the main office building, and Peter could feel the stares of his men. They’d often wondered why he hadn’t matched, but none had dared to ask about it. Doctor Rovinsky and Doctor Paulson knew, but Rovinsky had died last year and Paulson had retired and was living off campus now.

“This is the same as I remember,” Allison said as she looked at the brick building where she’d been held against her will ten years ago.

“It may look the same, but things are different now.”

  “Yeah?”

“Yes. I made it that way.” He pulled her in tighter against his body, knowing he might someday get used to her being at his side, but he’d never ever take it for granted. “I never wanted any soldier to go through what we went through. Everyone has a choice and a lot more freedom.”

She stopped on a dime. “Why didn’t you say something? We could’ve been together sooner?”

“Things might have changed around here, but you hadn’t changed. You had that hit song and you were touring the world. I couldn’t take that from you.”

She clasped his hand and they kept walking. He was taking her to his small house on one edge of the campus. They were going to drop her suitcase on the floor and then he was going to give her a quick tour of his home, ending in his bedroom. That part of the tour would take much longer, he planned. Possibly days.

“Are you really ready to stop touring?” he asked. Things had changed on campus, but not enough that they could have a world famous rock star coming and going from their midst. Reporters would eventually come knocking.

She sighed. “I’ve been ready for a while now. It’s exhausting and it stopped being fun, oh, I don’t know, years ago. Other than that one song that made it, I’ve been taking two steps forward and six back.”

“Oh?” He stepped up onto his porch and pushed open his door, letting her enter first.

She ducked inside the small house and kept talking. “I’ve been on the road playing small clubs and bars for ten years. The industry has changed. It’s not about the music anymore.”

  “It’s not?”

“It’s about money. And I’m done with it. Music will always be a big part of my life, but I’m ready to sing lullabies to babies.”

He hated to see her defeated, and as he looked more closely at her, he saw the sleepy lines around her eyes and lips. The past ten years hadn’t been easy for her. He’d only seen glimpses of her life on the road going from city bar to city bar. She gave her audience her heart on the stage and appeared to have gotten nothing in return.

He needed to give her heart back. She’d been holding onto his for a decade. Together, maybe they could heal. “How about a nap,” he suggested.

“A nap?” She looked confused, and then a small smile spread her lips. “I would love a nap.”

He led her to his bedroom where she kicked off her shoes and curled under the covers. When he started to back out of the room and give her privacy, she reached out a hand. “Join me?”

His shoes were off and he was next to her in the bed before her next breath. “Always.”

It was full dark when Allison finally stirred in the bed next to him. He’d been awake, watching over her for roughly four hours. It had been the best four hours of his life. Seeing his match in his bed brought on a contentment like he’d never known.

“Mmm,” she mumbled and stretched with her eyes still closed. She smiled. “I needed that nap.”

He stroked a finger down her cheek, noting how her breasts looked in the tangled shirt. Her eyes opened and they stared at each other.

“Hi,” she whispered. “Did you sleep?”

  He shook his head.

“You lay here watching me? How boring.”

Another head shake. “I could watch you forever.”

“Just watch? Or did you want to touch?” Her smile was the smile of a woman confident in how much she was wanted.

“I needed to let you sleep, because I’m going to keep you awake for a long time.”

“Oh?” Her question was all seduction.

“We have ten years to make up for.”

  “We better get started then.”

And then he was on her, like a ravenous beast, kissing and pulling at her clothes, hurrying to get her naked. She yanked at his clothes with the same urgency. He hadn’t seen her in ten years, and he was dying to know what twenty-eight-year-old Allison looked like naked.

“Oh, wow,” she breathed. “You’re as good as I remember. Better.”

  “You, too.”

Their first coupling was hard and urgent. A few kisses, some fingering to make sure she was wet, and then he was in her, pounding away without finesse, both of them mindless to anything but coming together. They watched each other silently, with their limbs entangled as he pushed into her inch by inch. It was a homecoming. Their own personal reunion, ten years in the making. It was bliss, heaven.

The second time was slower. They were curled together talking in between soft slow kisses. A touch here. A stroke of a finger there.

“I’ve missed you every day,” Allison confessed.

“Like a piece of me was missing,” Peter said, examining the weight of her breast in a careful palm.

“I forgot how poetic you could be. All manly soldier, and then you say stuff like that.”

“Making love to you is a poem,” he replied, not caring how cheesy he sounded. His soldiers would howl for a week if they heard him speak like that, but fuck ‘em. They didn’t have the most amazing woman in the world in their beds looking at them as if they were the center of the world.

He lowered his lips to her breasts and planted tiny kisses on the soft skin of her chest, then lowered to her nipples. She moaned and clasped his head to her breast. It was like being in a sanctuary in the dark quiet room, with both of them worshipping each other.

His erection grew to life, prodding at her thigh. She pushed him onto his back, and he rolled willingly, ready to take direction from her. She’d always been the leader in their bed. And it was no different now. She knew what she liked, and he was happy to please her, however and wherever she wanted.

Only this time she bent over him and took his cock in her soft mouth, and he closed his eyes against the pleasure of her warm wetness surrounding his aching shaft. He smiled, remembering the first time they’d fumbled through this all those years ago. It had been good then, and it was even better now.

Their first coupling had taken the edge off, but it was back with a vengeance now, and he clutched at the sheets, willing his hips to stay down and not thrust up into her mouth.

Her soft hand wrapped around the base, as her tongue did things that had to be illegal. He’d watched hours of her one music video, hard as stone at the way she held the microphone and sang into it. And now she was treating his cock like her personal microphone. Oh Jesus.

His body wasn’t used to the overload of sensations yet. An orgasm threatened to explode out of him, but he wasn’t ready. He wanted Allison under him begging.

“Wait.” He held her upper arms and dragged her up to lie over his body so he could kiss her mouth. As their tongues met, her hips shifted, letting his erection feel her soft warm pussy. A groan escaped him. He wanted to bury himself in her wetness more than he wanted the Orioles to win the pennant.

“Touch me,” Allison said, and she rolled onto her side to give him access to her body. Carefully and slowly he explored her curves and valleys. The high he got with each of her sighs of pleasure was worth every minute of loneliness he’d suffered. What counted was now, and now he had his match in his bed, with nothing separating them.

“Peter,” she gasped as his tongue found a
sensitive spot on the succulent slope where her neck met her shoulder. His dick was throbbing urgently now, begging for attention, so he shifted hips to brush her hand. She got the message and wrapped a palm around his shaft, making his eyes roll back in his head.

God, she was hot, and he was the lucky bastard to be her man. How many thousands of men had seen her music video or seen her on stage, then gone home jacking off to her image? All of them. He couldn’t imagine a straight man seeing Allison and not committing murder to have a shot with her.

But she was his, and he didn’t share.

“I want you in me,” she said.

  “You’re not ready.”

  “I am.”

He dipped a finger between her plump vaginal lips. “No, I don’t think you are. Wet, but not dripping. Soft but not silky. I want you dying for it.”

She squeezed his cock. Harder than was comfortable. “You’re going to torture me.”

“Since I’ve been basically walking around with a hard-on for ten years, yes. I think a little turnabout is fair.”

“You think you’ve been alone in the wanting?” Her arms looped around his neck and her breasts rubbed against his chest. “I’ve been so lonely. Alone in a different hotel room every night dreaming of you.”

“What did you do to relieve the ache?” he asked against her skin.

“Same thing you did,” she said. “I touched myself and pictured it was you.”

  “Show me.”

She shook her head. “No. Enough touching myself. We’re together now, and I have you here to touch me. Promise me I’ll never have to be lonely again.”

He swallowed over the sudden lump in his throat, and discovered when he mounted Allison she was now ready for him. A gentle push and the head of his cock pressed into her passage.

He’d been an idiot to leave her, though at the time he’d seen no alternative. Now he understood, better to die fighting with her then be without her.

Their bodies surged together, thrust after thrust, as her thighs tightened around his hips, begging him for more. Always more.

He gave it to her. He always would.

She was his to love and cherish, and it was his number one mission. Forever.
