He carried me quickly to the car, and eased me onto the back seat, where I lay on my side. He jumped into the driver’s seat, and Becky sat beside him. I felt the car pull out of the driveway.

Becky was looking over the seat in concern.

“Thanks for saving me,” I said weakly. “I thought I was a goner.”

“I was so scared. How are you feeling?”

“It still hurts, but not as much.”

She reached her hand back, and I lifted mine to take it. We held hands all the way to the clinic.

Luckily, the medical clinic wasn’t busy that day, and when Danny carried me in, the nurse waved us straight to the back. Danny laid me on the table, and the nurse rolled me over onto my stomach. The doctor came in, and as he examined my stings, he told us this was the second jellyfish attack in two days. “Hurricane must be stirring them up,” he said.

After a minute, he said, “This may sting a bit,” and then poured a cool fluid over my back and thighs. It did sting, but nowhere near as bad as before, and then it began to feel better.

He used a pair of tweezers to remove the bits of jellyfish from my skin, and then had the nurse carefully rub some lotion on. I was surprised at how much better I was feeling already.

When she was done, I was able to stand, and she walked me out to the waiting room, where the doctor was talking to Danny and Becky.

He turned to me and smiled. “Feeling better?”

I returned his smile. “Yeah. Thanks.”

“No problem. I was just telling your friends, that you should spend the next day relaxing. Nothing strenuous. I’ve also given them a prescription for more lotion. Put some on every four hours during the day.”

“Um,” Becky said, “we have a trip to the waterpark tomorrow. Can she go?”

The doctor shook his head. “Definitely not. She needs to rest, and the worst thing for it would be chlorinated water.” He turned to me. “Sorry, no waterslides for you.”

  Chapter 14

When we got back to the house, Mr. and Mrs. Warren were also pulling in. They had run out to get some groceries, which would explain why it was Danny who came to help me. When they heard the news, they showered me with attention, and helped me into the house, making me comfortable on the couch.

When Danny produced my prescription, Mr. Warren snatched it from his hand, and said, “I’ll take care of this, and be back in a few minutes.”

  “Um, Mr. Warren?” I said.

  He turned back. “Yes, dear?”

“I was wondering, if you don’t mind, if Becky could pick up my prescription?”

My friend looked at me with a curious expression.

“It’s no problem,” Mr. Warren said, “I can do it.”

“I know it’s kind of weird,” I said, “but she pulled me from the water, and I would feel more comfortable if she got my medicine.” I knew it made no sense, but I was grasping for straws.

“Oh, well, if that’s the case, then sure, she can get it.” He handed the sheet of paper to Becky, who took it and returned her curious gaze to me.

“Becky,” I said, “I think there’s a drugstore down on the boardwalk. But it’s kinda busy, so it might take you a while. Do you mind?”

A smile spread over her face. “I don’t mind at all. Are you sure you’re ok here without me?”

I returned her smile. “I’m fine.”

After Becky left, I watched some television, but got restless. I decided to go up to my room to take a nap, and climbed the stairs. When I got to the second floor, I saw Danny’s closed door and smiled, thinking about how he had been so kind to me. I walked to it and softly knocked.

After a few seconds, it opened, and Danny looked at me curiously.

  “Chrissie, shouldn’t you be resting?”

“I was just on my way upstairs to take a nap. But I wanted to tell you thanks for what you did.”

  “It was nothing.”

  “You made me feel better.”

“Then you’re welcome. If there’s anything else I can do, just let me know.”

  “Thanks again.”

I wanted to say more, but he smiled and closed the door. I climbed the stairs to the attic and lay face down on my bed, quickly falling asleep.

I awoke to a hand rubbing my back. “Chrissie.”

Lifting my head, I looked up at Becky, my eyes taking a moment to focus. As she smiled at me, I felt disoriented, and wondered why I was waking up in the afternoon. Then I felt the pain in my legs, and it all came back to me, including why my friend may be grinning at me.

I quickly sat up. “Did you?”

  She grinned and nodded.

My eyes went wide. “You did?”

She kept nodding. “It was wonderful. If I would have known, I would have done it a lot sooner.”

I shook my head to clear the cobwebs, not sure if I was dreaming or not. “So you and Vinny actually...?”

  “Yes. More than once.”

  “Did it hurt?”

“A little at first, but then it felt great. Thank you so much for letting me get your prescription.”

I grinned. “Was he nice to you?”

“He was very sweet. I’m looking forward to the next time.”

  “The next time?”

“Oh yeah. I have to do it again with him. You’ll see. It’s amazing.”

I was confused. This was going against everything my parents had told me. Could it really be that I was missing out on something?

“Then I may have to reconsider that offer of his friend.”

She laughed hard at this, then said, “Just say the word, and I’ll have him set it up. I promise you’ll enjoy it.”

At dinner, Mr. Warren announced his final plans for the waterpark tomorrow, telling his family they would be leaving at nine.

  “I’m not going,” Becky said.

He turned to her. “And why not?”

  “Because Chrissie can’t go.”

“Forget it,” he said, “Chrissie is perfectly capable of taking care of herself. You’re going. I’m not wasting another ticket.”

  Becky pouted.

  “I’m staying here,” Danny said.

“Danny,” his mom said, “please come. You need some fun.”

“Mom, all that park is going to do is remind me that my kids aren’t with me. Sorry, but I can’t.”

Mr. Warren frowned. “Great. Another wasted ticket.”

When Becky and I went up to bed, she applied the lotion to my back and legs, and then we had a long talk, where I extracted every detail possible about her experience with Vinny. I was surprised to discover a wetness growing between my legs as she described how his cock – that’s the word she used – felt sliding inside of her. When she talked about how she had held onto him as he thrust between her legs, filling her pussy – her word again – over and over, I felt a twist of desire within me, as I imagined it was me who Vinny was doing that to.

And when she told me how she had screamed loudly when she finished, I felt my own breath catch in my throat, as the desire welled up from inside of me.

When I rolled over to go to sleep, the aching desire inside of me cried out for the touch of my fingers. Deciding I had resisted long enough, I slid my hand between my legs and touched my mound through my panties. The pleasure sparked through me, and I almost groaned aloud. The more I touched, the better it felt, and the pleasure seemed to tighten inside of me. Soon I had to pull my hand away, too afraid to go any further. When I finally drifted off to sleep, desire and images tumbled through my head, most of them involving Vinny and his cock.

  Chapter 15

Friday began bright and sunny, as the family packed their swimming stuff into two cars. I felt a little sad I wasn’t getting to go, but there were a few books in the house I wanted to read. After the family left, I considered going down to get some tanning in, but decided I didn’t want to get that close to the ocean after yesterday’s debacle.

I was sitting on the couch, trying to
get interested in one of the books, when I realized Becky had forgotten to put on my lotion. I could probably do my legs, but I couldn’t reach my back.

Just then, Danny walked by, heading upstairs to his room. “Chrissie, if there’s anything you need, let me know. I’ll be upstairs.”

“Um,” I said, “there is one thing. If you don’t mind.”

He stopped. “Sure, what is it?”

“Becky forgot to help me with my lotion before she left. Could you do it?”

He paused a brief moment, then said, “No problem.”

“You sure? Cause I can do most of it myself.”

“I’m happy to help. Where’s it at?”

“Up on my dresser. I’ll go with you.”

“No, just relax. I’ll get it and bring it down.”

  “Thanks.”

He climbed the stairs, and returned a minute later carrying the tube. I rolled over on my stomach, and he sat on the edge of the couch. I heard the tube snap open, and then a moment later I felt his hand on the back of my thigh, rubbing the cool lotion in. My loose shorts came down past the sting marks, and his hand slid up under the cloth, making sure to cover all of the affected area. He repeated the procedure on my other leg, and then I pulled my T-shirt up to my bra strap, exposing my lower back.

His hand was strong, yet gentle, and I found myself enjoying his touch. Once again, he made sure to get all the sting marks, even using his other hand to lift the waistband of my shorts slightly, so he could get to the marks underneath.

He snapped the tube closed. “How’s it feeling today?”

“Much better,” I said, pulling my shirt down and sitting up. That lotion really works. Thanks for helping.”

“No problem,” he said, standing up. He held out the tube. “Where do you want this?”

I took it. “I’ll keep it down here. I’ll need another application this afternoon, if you don’t mind.”

“Not at all. You going to read?”

“For a while. I was thinking about taking a walk later.”

“You sure? The doctor told you to rest.”

“I know. But I feel cooped up. I’ll probably walk down to the boardwalk and back.”

“Ok. Just take it easy, alright?”

  “Sure.”

  Chapter 16

In the afternoon, I headed out, walking down the beach. I didn’t want to admit to myself why I was going to the boardwalk, but I felt a flutter of excitement in my stomach. Some clouds had started to roll in, and the sun peeked in and out of them.

When I reached the wooden walkway, I walked slowly, checking out all the little shops. As I got an ice cream cone, I noticed the clouds were getting thicker. I hoped it didn’t rain on Becky and her family.

I was standing at the railing, looking out at the pounding surf, feeling the wind in my face, when a pair of hands came up around my eyes, covering them.

“Guess who?” a deep voice said.

  I grinned. “Vinny?”

The hands moved away, and I turned around. His deep blue eyes sat above a crooked smile. He pointed at me, paused a moment, then said, “Chrissie, right?”

  I smiled wider. “That’s right.”

  “Where’s Becky?”

“She’s off for the day with her family.”

“Oh that’s right, the waterpark. Why aren’t you with her?”

The wind was picking up, blowing my hair around.

“I had a run in with a jellyfish.”

“Sorry, I forgot. She did tell me about that. Let me see.” He put his hands on my shoulders and turned me around, then whistled slightly. “You got it good, girl. Does it hurt?”

“Not any more,” I replied, turning back to face him.

“So, you’re just out for a walk?” His lips curled up into a slight grin.

“Yeah, just looking around. Becky tells me you and she had fun yesterday.”

The smile curled up a little further. “She did, huh?”

  “Yeah.”

“Well, you wouldn’t hear anything like that from me. I don’t kiss and tell.” His blue eyes seemed to look through me.

“She also mentioned you might have a friend.”

  “I got plenty of friends.”

“I mean, you know, like a double date or something.”

A gust of wind blew past us, sending me slightly off balance.

He nodded. “Double dates can be fun. But I prefer things more one on one.” Those eyes again, and I felt a twisting in my stomach.

He looked around. “It’s getting nasty out here. And it looks like it’s going to rain.” He paused. “You want to get out of the weather? Maybe come back to my place?”

Confusion filled my head, and my thoughts flew about like the wind around me. What was I doing? I came down here to ask him about his friends, not to seduce my best friend’s guy. Didn’t I? A vision streaked across my mind, where Vinny was lying naked on the bed, and I was between his legs, taking his cock into my mouth. The twisting in my stomach rippled hard, and I felt a pulse of wetness between my legs.

  “I, uh...”

He stepped close and put his arm around my shoulder, giving me a soft smile. “Come on. We’ll be nice and dry, and you won’t have to do anything you don’t want to.”

I stared at him, as I realized that was the same thing he had said to Becky last summer. Suddenly, I knew this was wrong.

“I’m sorry,” I said, “I have to go home.”

To his credit, he made no attempt to hold me against my will. His arm lifted from my shoulder. “That’s fine.”

I turned to go, but he called me back. “Chrissie?”

  I turned to him. “Yes?”

“Like I said, I don’t kiss and tell. If you want to meet one of my friends, just let Becky know.”

I gave him a smile as my hair whipped across my face. “Thanks.”

I turned away again, and came face to face with Danny. My eyes opened wide in shock.

  Chapter 17

“There you are,” he said, “I’ve been looking all over for you.”

  “Danny?”

He held out his hand. “Let’s go. We don’t have much time.”

I put my hand in his, and he hurried me up the boardwalk. “Danny, what’s going on?”

“The hurricane. It’s changed direction, and heading right for us. We have to leave Longbow as soon as possible.”

The wind picked up again, almost blowing us sideways on the wooden decking. A few hard raindrops began to fall.

“Are you up for a run?” he shouted above the wind.

  I nodded.

“Keep hold of my hand,” he said, and began to jog in the direction of our beach house. We hadn’t gotten ten steps before the rain started to come down in sheets, soaking us thoroughly.

He picked up speed, and I raced to stay with him. We reached the sand, which made it harder to run. I glanced down at the ocean, and the waves were large and ugly. Anyone going in there wasn’t coming out.

We ran up the beach, and I felt my sides burning as the wind whipped the sand in our faces. Finally, we reached the house and bolted up onto the porch. When we got inside, he closed the door and we both fought to catch our breaths.

After a moment, he said, “Go upstairs and put on something dry. We have to leave.”

I went up to my room and stripped my wet clothes off. I was naked and drying off with a towel when Danny called up from the bottom of the stairs.

“Chrissie, throw some overnight stuff in a bag too. We’re probably going to have to find a hotel once we get inland.”

“Ok.” For some reason, I found it odd to be talking to him while I was naked, even though he didn’t know it.

I dressed and threw my bag together, then went downstairs. Just as I arrived, a siren went off.

  “What’s that?” I asked.

  “I guess it’s a hurricane warning.”

“They need a warning, with this going on outside?”

  He gave a small laugh
. “You have a point there. You ready?”

  “Yes.”

We went out onto the porch and he put his arm around me, and then opened an umbrella above our heads. We started down off the porch and headed for the car. Halfway there, the umbrella blew out of his hand and disappeared over a sand dune. We were instantly soaked again, and ran towards the car. Once inside, we looked at each other, the water dripping off our faces.

“Well,” he said, “that didn’t go like I planned.”

I laughed. “At least we made it to the car.”

“And I didn’t forget the keys,” he replied, holding them up. “Let’s get out of here.”

We pulled out of the driveway, and the car rocked slightly from the wind. Carefully, Danny guided the car down the road, the wipers going full bore, fighting a losing battle as they splashed through the water sheeting across the windshield.

  “Can you see?” I asked.

  “Barely. But we’ll make it.”

We went around a bend, and came upon a police car parked across the road, blocking our path. The officer got out and ran to Danny’s window, holding tightly to an umbrella. Danny wound the window down, and the policeman’s face filled the opening.

“Sorry folks, you need to go back to your house.”

“But we’re trying to get to the mainland.”

“That’s not going to happen. The wind has blown a boat into the bridge, knocking out a section. No one can get here, and no one can leave.”

  “Is it safe to stay?”

“If you go back to your houses, you should be alright. Look near the phone book. There should be instructions for sealing the house for bad weather. Do what it says, and just hunker down for the night. It should be past us by morning.”

  “Thank you, officer.”

  “Good luck, folks.”

Danny turned the car around, and we headed back.

  Chapter 18

It was getting dark as we arrived back at the house. As Danny searched for the hurricane instructions, I checked the phone and discovered it was dead. The instructions consisted mostly of getting all the beach chairs and stuff back under the porch, and closing all the shutters. Danny decided it wasn’t safe to go back outside, so whatever wasn’t under the porch would be lost, but we went from window to window, pushing up the sash and then pulling the shutters closed and latching them. Luckily we hadn’t changed out of our wet clothes beforehand, because we got soaked again from the rain blowing in through the open windows.
