The title of the book was “The Forbidden Dual Cultivation for Virgins.”

  Chapter 10

  Training

The next morning, John knocked on Sarah’s door. He hadn’t slept all night because of his nerves.

I can fight a Rank 9 evil mastermind just fine, yet thinking about a girl who has feelings for me has caused me to have a sleepless night!

John mocked himself after thinking about the contradiction. Sarah’s door opened a few seconds later. John saw dark circles under her eyes again.

“You couldn’t sleep either?” He chuckled politely. “Glad it’s not just me.”

Sarah only looked at John for a few seconds before she turned around and walked inside. Sitting down on the chair next to the table, she spoke.

“I couldn’t sleep because I was reading the book you left behind.” Her words were carefully selected. “As a doctor, it’s hard to believe the pictures in this book are even possible.”

“Yeah.” John rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed, as he walked inside. “When I read the book I couldn’t believe it, either. That book puts the Kama Sutra to shame. I think I need to use my threads to get into some of those positions, too.”

Sarah lowered her head, face becoming a bright red as she blushed.

“Well, like I said yesterday, I don’t want to be unromantic or push you, but I think we should consider this when it’s our first time.” John tried to lighten the mood a little by focusing on the technique. “Before that, though, we both need to be in peak body condition. The skills I will give you will make your body in the same condition as mine, but I need to finish all my skills first. That’ll probably take another four or five months, at the least.”

John took a deep breath before the next part.

“During that time, I can help train you to master the basics or even the whole martial arts I know.” He looked up at Sarah, making eye contact. “We could also head to the Sword Sect... I want your honest opinion. We’re dating now, right? That means we decide things together.”

Sarah had calmed down. A smile spread across her face as she thumbed over their options. After a while, she spoke what was on her mind.

“I think it’s best if we stay here,” she finally stated. “I’ll learn all the martial arts you’ve got to teach. We’ve got hundreds of years of life expectancy left, which will only grow as we increase our rank. But if someone kills me before then, it will all be wasted. I’ve got enough supplies to last me for six months, so we don’t need to restock food or water. During the four to five months, we can get to know each other better, too. I like the Dao Companion that you described yesterday. But what skill is the threads you mentioned?”

“Oh.” John had his head resting on his fist with his arm on the desk. “Didn’t you know? How do you think those two men at the black market flew?”

“Gravity manipulator for all I know.” Sarah shrugged her shoulders. “We don’t know each other’s skills yet.”

“All right.” John nodded. “Here, I’ll show you.”

He made a small sword out of threads, making it hang mid-air above his left palm.

“I made this sword from my threads,” he explained. “I can control up to a million of them and each thread can lift a hundred pounds of weight. When they’re together to form a shape, I use a skill called Shapeshift to combine all the threads together. I can control them up to a hundred feet away from me and each thread is too small to see with the naked eye.”

“Wow…” Sarah looked at John, eyes alight. “Why don’t you give me this skill instead? It sounds useful.”

“Because I think your poison will be more useful than you think when it’s levelled up.” John grinned. “The threads are only useful for killing, which your poison will be more than capable of.”

“Right…” She lowered her head and blushed again. “As for this Dual Cultivation technique you gave me to read... I’ll think about it.”

“Well, think hard on it since it’s a one-time technique.” John couldn’t help but smile at her blushing. “But let’s get started on your martial arts training. We left it after you learned the basics of Kung Fu, right? Let’s do Muay Thai now, then. Oh, yeah, I better warn you; I will aim to take advantage of this training.”

John smirked a little after saying that and stood up to stretch. Sarah still had her head down, blushing, but when she heard John, her red blush grew deeper.

He took out the books about Muay Thai and explained a few things as she flipped through the pages. When they practised the moves, John helped her achieve the perfect form, correcting her less and less as time went on. After she got used to the basic forms, John started messing around a little. When they sparred, he would get in close to kiss her neck, forehead, or lips. When she kicked towards him, he would catch the leg and move in close for a kiss, too.

On the sixth day, she had mastered the basics of Muay Thai and hit him in the stomach. He lied down on the floor pretending to be in pain.

Sarah wasn’t having any of it and kicked him in the leg, telling him to get up.

They continued training in the basics in all martial arts. John told her about his fighting experiences so Sarah would not make the same mistakes. Fourteen days later, the Memory skill completed and John put all Idlers into Mind Parts. He needed to know how much the second skill would jump by. The time came up as 15d again, to his delight. Fifteen days later and Mind Parts’ first level completed. When it did, he could feel the sixth part of his mind that he could think with. Turning his Scan skill off, he cultivated with the five parts of his mind and used his sixth to think while training Sarah.

After a month, Sarah had learned all the basics. In return, Sarah taught John about major arteries. These arteries only needed to be cut and, if not treated within a few minutes, the person would bleed out. The biggest of the arteries would cause someone’s blood pressure to drop—they could die within seconds.

When the second Mind Part skill complete, John used his sixth mind part to use the Scan skill, leaving the seventh and final part free. John continued teaching Sarah all martial arts skills he knew.

Fifteen days later, the Recovery skill completed. John noticed the thirty-two units per minute he was getting while cultivating had jumped to eighty-two. John was stunned, pausing in the middle of his spar with Sarah. As he stood there, Sarah hit him hard.

When Resistance’s Light skill completed, it disappeared, but it didn’t show up in the Completed List. He found it a while later. It had merged with the Resistance’s Elemental skill. He completed all the skills a month and a half later. Then he put all Idlers into Max Workers since the system would reset the skill’s time when he completed the Shrink Neurons levels and updated to 4.0. The time came up as 13d 8h.

Walking up to Sarah, he smiled.

“All the skills are complete!” he cheerfully exclaimed. “It’s time to do the Share skill. However, I would recommend knocking yourself out while the skills work on your body. It will be painful when the skills alter your body.”

“Is that so?” Sarah sat down on the chair. “How am I going to knock myself out? I’m immune to the poison I create.”

“Guess I’ve got to do it.” John tilted his head. “Go lie down on your bed and I’ll knock you out before sharing the skills. This is a serious matter so you don’t have to worry about me taking advantage of you, either.”

  Chapter 11

  Transformation

Sarah had two choices now. She could either trust John that he wouldn’t do anything after she was knocked out, or suffer the pain John said would happen. It only took a second to decide. She walked to her bed and sat up straight. Once she was in position, Sarah tilted her head to the right and moved her hair behind her. John could see the back of her neck.

“Follow the bottom of my ear to the back of my head,” she explained. “There’s a pressure point at the hairline here. If you strike that point hard enough, it will knock me out. Just don’t strike too hard or els
e it could kill me.”

John walked over, but before hitting her in the spot she was pointing to, he lowered his head and kissed her neck. Sarah blushed and was about to turn around when her vision turned black.

He picked her up and placed her further up on the bed so her head was on the pillow, then opened the system.

Welcome to the Idle System 3.9

  Name: John

  Title: A Selfish Punisher.

  Age: 33

  Idlers: 0/225

  Skill Points: 0

  Life Pool: 157.8M

  Sin: 100M

He opened the fifth tab at the top. Under Sarah’s name were still the numbers 0/20. Looking at Sarah’s name for a few seconds, a smaller panel popped up. In the panel was the Completed List from the second tab. He looked through the list for the skills he would give her while thinking.

  1. Flesh’s Strength for the Regeneration, Immunity of scarring and Placement to move bones in the body if they shift out of place. The max bonus tightens the skin and muscle at a cellular level, too.

  2. Organ’s Strength for the Regeneration, to move the organs if a force knocks them out of place, able to hold breath with Lung Capacity and the Stomach Acid. The max bonus will strengthen all organs.

  3. Blood’s Capacity for the Cell speed, Transportation and White Cells.

  4. Bone’s Density for the Toughness, Marrow and Cell Production. The max bonus will make the bones almost impossible to break.

  5. Muscle Elasticity for the Cardiac, Skeletal and Smooth muscles. The max bonus makes the body function much faster.

  6. Mind’s Strength for the thinking speed. Will give her a perfect memory, and strengthening of the senses including the immunity to pain and pressure from third parties.

  7. Purifier so all Life Power will be Silver Grade while being compressed at the same time.

  8. Directions for the transparent map and icons.

  9. The movement to teleport using the map.

  10. Absorption.

  11. An increased vision so the user can see in the dark and able to see the life auras too.

  12. Storage.

  13. Temperature Keeper so she’ll never feel too cold or hot.

  14. Resistance to fire, water, earth, metal, wood, light, dark, time, and space attacks. It’ll automatically remove blindness, petrifaction, and any status that affects the body. It’ll allow her to always keep a calm head in a fight with the Emotional part of the skill.

John had concluded that the system only removed the negative emotions that could affect you while fighting like his anger towards Rogue sect members.

  15. Scan.

  16. Defence so she’ll have the extra protection veil.

  17. Divination, so she’ll become immune to divination techniques.

  18. Memory, which included immunity to mind-warping techniques.

  19. Recovery so the she can gain Life Power lost or used while fighting.

  20. Mind Parts so she could divide the mind into seven separately functioning parts.

When he clicked all twenty skills, a confirmation prompt popped up. He selected ‘yes’ and the window disappeared. Looking up at Sarah, he saw her skin moving as it was being tightened.

It must add the skills one by one and in order. The skin is first but I won’t be able to see most of the skills at work.

Five minutes later, the skin stopped moving. He waited for anything else to happen, and after thirty minutes...

  BOOM!

Sarah’s body gushed Life Power out. It wasn’t strong enough to push John backwards, but it was the same as when John and his master Jamie had upgraded to Silver Grade Life Power. Her hair turned silver and its length shrunk due to the hair twisting into tight curls. It went from the length to her hips to her back, then it stopped at her shoulder blades. What little muscle Sarah had built up shrank as she became slimmer.

That’s surprising... Her hair is curling...

A few minutes later, the Life Power stopped gushing out and the room returned to its peaceful state again. It was then that he noticed her skin getting softer; John assumed that was the Purifier skill at work. Ten minutes later John noticed her much softer skin become smoother still.

That must be the Absorption skill. Any dehydration in the body is gone now.

Twenty-five minutes later, a silver veil formed all over her body.

So there are four skills left? If we go by the other skills, then it will take another 20 minutes to finish but I’ll give it an hour to make sure.

But now I’m in serious trouble now. After these four months together, I think I’ve fallen in love with her.

John was struck by the realisation as he stared down at her sleeping body. With her beauty, she could have any man in the universe. He wondered if she would even consider him as a partner now. Mind racing, he took all the Life Stones in the room and put them back in his Storage Space. Without their glow, the room became pitch dark. An hour later, Sarah woke up.

“How do you feel?” John smiled down at her fluttering eyes.

Sarah put her hands over her ears because the simple question was too loud.

“Quiet down a little, please,” she whispered.

“Ah, it has improved the hearing sense. You need to get used to it,” John whispered back. “Your vision should have improved, too. You can now see in the dark but you probably have to practice focusing on things for a little while. How’s your mind? You should be able to simultaneously use parts of your mind to think of many things like a hive mind.”

Sarah groggily sat up, feeling a little overwhelmed. Looking around it was like she was wearing night vision goggles. She looked at John but from her perspective, he was at least thirty feet away. When she blinked, John’s face was next to her face.

“Yeah, my vision seems a little wonky,” she whispered. “My hearing is super sensitive, too.”

“Not just those.” John examined Sarah’s expression. “It has heightened eight other senses.”

John then explained how each sense worked, including the immunity to pain and pressure from third parties. Looking at the silver veil on her arm, John also instructed her how to make it colourless. When he finished with the orientation, he got out a big mirror and showed Sarah’s reflection to her.

Sarah was stunned at her hair colour and how it was now curled and much shorter. She checked her skin’s condition and was further stunned at how soft and smooth it was. Finally, she took note of her eye colour in the mirror—it had changed to silver, too.

“Come on.” John held his hand out. “You need to stand up and get used to moving around. I had the same transformation over a long period of time, but you went from nothing to everything in a few hours.”

Sarah grabbed his hand and climbed out of bed. Her body’s muscles made her walk much further each step, which also startled her. She tried jumping like she did before the transformation but she hit the ceiling instead, though she felt no pain. Sarah took hours to get used to walking again. She then noticed the time in her Toxic System but was astounded at how she still felt wide awake.

After hours of getting used to all her senses, muscles, and looks, Sarah sat down on her bed, exhausted. She looked over at John, who was sitting on the chair at the desk. They made eye contact. She climbed into bed, a blush blossoming across her cheeks.

“I think it’s time to try the Dual Cultivation technique now,” she said as confidently as she could manage. “Wouldn’t you say so?”

John had a big smile on his face. He brought out all the Grade 8 and 9 Life Stones he could fit in the room from his Storage Space and climbed into bed where he kissed Sarah. When he finished kissing, he put his forehead against hers.

  “I love you.”

  Chapter 12

  Silver Skulls

John was lying in bed next to Sarah, her head resting on his chest. His right arm pulled her close enough to feel her body’s warmth.

John lifted the cover with his left hand before giving a slight nod and le
tting go of the cover.

“Something wrong?” she asked, curious about this action.

“No, no.” John made a small laugh. “Just enjoying the view.”

He opened the system while lying there.

Welcome to the Idle system 3.9.

  Name: John

  Title: A Selfish Punisher.

  Age: 33

  Idlers: 0/225

  Skill Points: 0

  Life Pool: 98.1B

  Sin: 100M

John’s eyes almost bulged out at the amount of Life Pool he had gained. He turned his head to his left to look at the Life Stones he placed in the room. There was a lot of dust on the floor and half the room was empty. When Life Power was depleted from Life Stones, they turned to dust.

So, we absorbed enough Life Power to destroy quite a few Life Stones. I wonder which grades...

Turning his head to look at Sarah, he smiled.

“Did you have as much fun as me?” He brushed her face with his hand. “How much Life Power did you absorb during the technique? Did your system remove the consequences of the forbidden cultivation?”

The first question embarrassed Sarah and she punched John in the stomach with her right fist.

“Almost twenty billion Toxin Power,” she answered, flustered. “Close to one hundred billion Life Power—that’s years of cultivating. And yeah, the system removed the forbidden status. What about you?”

“Same.” John nodded. “Has the share skills tab come up for you?”

“Yes, I only have a few skills including the poison gas attack. Which ones do you want?”

“Hmn...” John thought for a few minutes. “Give me the one to change Life Power to Toxin Power and the skill to create and store the poison or venom molecules, that’s all I need for now. We can test how long it takes to alter the share skills that way, too.”

“Oh… one more thing.” Sarah pursed her lips. “How did you know the negative status would get removed?”

“That’s an easy one.” John chuckled. “The skill Resistance removes all statuses that alter our bodies.”
