The Idle System Box Set

John took out all the valid materials from his Storage Space then used the Upgrade Puppet skill. What surprised him the most was that the leftover nano metal started to glow after using the skill. With the nano metal, he only needed to use tiny amounts per level. The pieces he used each time were no bigger than an inch squared. When he ran out of the spare nano metal, he took some from his main supply of nano metal, too.

The puppet reached Rank 9 Level 9 after an hour because of the nano metal. John checked the system.

  Foreign Objects:

  Fighting Puppet Controller: 9.9

This must be the maximum ranking and level it can upgrade the puppets to.

John looked at the new fighter puppet made from Chris and commanded it to guard Sarah against all harm. A twisted grin broke across John’s face when the Puppet resumed its guarding position.

Now my revenge on you is complete. You will have the woman you lust for within your sights but forever out of reach.

The saying “The eyes are the windows to the soul,” comes to mind. I only hope the trapped soul inside you can still see through the eyes, making this revenge much sweeter. I hope you can still feel jealousy as I kiss and pamper my wife, and feel rage as your body will not listen to you anymore. This revenge will last for eternity.

Guarding my wife is a much more important task; otherwise, I would have gotten you to kill your father in the cruellest way I can think of for my entertainment.

With all said and done, it was time to destroy the Anti-Assassin sect.

  Chapter 55

  Destruction

Before he left, John wrote a new note to Sarah. The note explained that Chris was his new fighter puppet and that the puppet was ordered to protect Sarah. He placed the note on the table next to her bed, alongside her helmet.

While looking at Sarah, a flood of regret washed over him. They should have teleported away from the fight instead of holding their ground. They should have run.

Did his lightning attack startle you enough that you weren’t able to teleport away in time? Did you hesitate in the fight? I regret choosing to fight. If we had fled, this never would have happened...

With that, John flew out of the cultivation cave and arrived at his master’s old house. He went through the teleport rune and arrived inside the cave on the Anti-Assassin planet. Placing the stone rune back inside his Storage Space, John checked the world map. He located the capital where Chris and Anthony were earlier and teleported out the cave.

Once he was in the city, it only took a few hours to find the Anti-Assassin’s treasure vault. He got inside fairly easily, though what he found within the walls paled in comparison to the vault at Rogue sect. He had to tip his hat to them, though; they had more Grade 9 Life Stones than the Rogue sect did. However, they seriously lacked in herbs, beast blood, and other rare metals.

  Nonetheless, he stole everything.

John stretched a little, adjusting the goods in his Storage Space. The theft was the least of the Anti-Assassin group’s worries at the moment. Taking a gulp of air, he held his breath and teleported down inside the planet.

The area he arrived at was full of sand, rocks, and other types of minerals. John was wedged inside of a tight space—he could not move at all. The move cost him five hundred Life Power or one hundred Toxin Power for every teleport regardless of the distance, and the Anti-Assassin’s planet was huge.

After two hundred teleports, John finally reached an area that wasn’t full of sand and rocks. He was now swimming in an ocean of molten lava, which he continued to make his way through. Another four hundred more teleports deeper into the planet, he found liquid iron and nickel. Unlike the lava, this liquid was absolutely still, no flow or current. He knew he was close to the core of the planet.

Even though he wasn’t using the Life Power of the planet to cultivate, he could feel the Life Power around him. It was hundreds of times denser than on the surface, which he took a mental note of. His cultivation caves needed to be much further down when this was all over. Maybe he could take a nice hot bath in the core of his master’s private planet, too. It was a funny thought, making him grin for a moment.

Teleporting even deeper, John came across a spherical slab of solid metal that glowed bright yellow. Looking at it with Immortal Eye, he found that it was made up of iron, silicon and carbon. The pressure of the planet had compressed it all together to form the shape it was in.

This was what he was searching for. He was so close! The only problem now was that he needed to find the exact centre of this giant ball. The world map, area map, or any other map he could use was useless in this matter. All he could do was hope that his Scan picked the location up when he got close enough.

After more than an hour of teleporting deeper and deeper into the giant metal ball, John finally found the centre. Hovering at the exact spot was a pitch black, round metal ball the size of an apple. John could feel the Life Power surging out from it. This metal ball generated the Life Power of the whole planet.

A flood of relief washing over him, John tried to reach for the ball; however, panic arose in his stomach when John realized that he could not move at all. The metal around him was so compact that he was completely unable to move any part of his body. His goal was right in front of him but he was stuck.

That was when he felt his right hand twitch a little. Taking a moment to calm down, he opened his Storage Space and slipped his right hand inside. In the space where his hand had been, John discovered shaved pieces of metal, which he proceeded to scrape into his storage space.

My black fingernails can cut through this, too? Just how strong did the Sinners System make them?

It took John over an hour to make enough room for him to move. The iron ball’s pressure never eased up, and sometimes the iron around John’s hand would get pushed towards him, making his work load more. There was no air in the area he dug out; it was like a vacuum.

When there was finally enough space, John dug to the centre. Savouring the moment, John slowly stretched both his hands out and touched the black, round metal ball. He absorbed the Life Power from the source while trying to move it, and as he did, he focused his mind on as many sins as he could.

  Lust. I desire more power.

Greed. I want as many sins as possible.

Wrath. All Anti-Assassin members must die.

Pride. I will not let the Anti-Assassin sect beat me.

Envy. Seeing couples together made me want Sarah back even more.

Sloth. I just want a peaceful life with her!

The metal ball must have weighed thousands of tons, as he could not lift it or even move it; however, he had the idea to put it inside of his Storage Space. As soon as the ball disappeared, the giant bright yellow material surrounding John completely crumbled.

So that metal ball was pulling the inner core of the planet towards it, creating the pressure. Now that it’s gone, the infrastructure of the entire planet has been completely ruined. My plan worked!

Taking only a moment to soak in his victory, John teleported upwards as fast as he could. He found it much easier than his journey downward. The planet’s gravity had shifted, and it was about a third lighter. Along the way back, John felt the planet begin to shake. As he continued to travel towards the surface, the shaking grew worse over time.

After teleporting eight hundred times towards the surface, he saw sunlight which confused him. Abruptly, water poured down towards him.

So the planet cracked open and now the sea water has fallen through.

As he teleported further, he heard loud explosions coming from beneath him.

Shit, that’s got to be steam explosions. The water is hitting something hot and the force of the blasts will travel towards me. I need to move out of the way.

John teleported horizontally, trying to get out of the way. He continued upward, though, and once he got to the surface of the planet, he found people in utter chaos. Everywhere around him, they were flying, running, and fallin
g through the cracks of the planet. He caught some of the expressions of the panicking people, all of them scared out of their wits. With no available teleports, he was sure that the people were falling into utter despair.

As he turned his head upwards to teleport again, he saw a flash of colour in the corner of his eye. Looking at his right hand, he found a small aurora light floating above it. John smiled a little. This was the first time he’d ever seen an aurora light, including his past life.

When Sarah wakes up, I must take her to a place that has these aurora lights to celebrate.

He took in the aurora lights for a few more seconds before continuing to teleport.

John took a deep breath while flying higher, then held it before he entered the stratosphere. But he didn’t stop there for long.

After a few more hundred teleports, John entered the mesosphere in space. The low pressure did not affect John’s body in the slightest, so he continued moving further away from the planet. After almost three thousand teleport jumps, he reached the planet’s orbit. With a triumphant grin, he turned around and faced the planet while drifting.

John could see only one colour: red. There were no oceans left from what he could see. By the looks of the moving red colour, the entire surface of the planet was covered in nothing but lava. The planet had become oval-shaped, as most of the planet’s mass moved towards the east.

As he watched, a few system rings went off inside his head. He ignored them all.

Unknown to John, his right eye had turned to a pitch black colour with a shining yellow iris. From his eyelid going above his eyebrow and below to his cheekbone, a pitch black pattern began to form. It was a perfect shape around his eye with his pupil at the dead centre of the pattern.

John was still watching the planet change shape when it exploded. The surface of the planet got smaller and smaller while the pieces of the planet flew off in every direction. The force of the explosion launched the two nearby moons out of orbit; some debris from the planet even collided with the moons, creating giant craters on the surfaces.

John stared at the sight of the planet getting blown to pieces. Although destroying the planet had been his plan, even he did not expect to see such a firework show. As the time drudged on, the final piece of the planet was thrown into outer space. The force from the blast is now travelling towards him at speeds he didn’t think were possible.

John pulled out the piece of leather he had drawn the teleport rune on. He quickly placed it underneath him and disappeared before the force caught up to him. When he arrived at the other teleport rune in his cultivation room at home on the Sword Sect’s planet, he destroyed the leather parchment with the rune drawn on. He took out the stone teleport rune and teleported once more, this time to his cultivation cave on his master’s private planet as he needs to figure out what to do next.

What John didn’t notice was that within the system, a change was happening.

The title below his name was disappearing.

A new word was slowly coming into existence, the text scrawled out in a sickly black.

If John looked at his stats, he would have noticed the change.

Below his name, in a twisted font, it read…

  Title: Demon.

  Afterword III

Hello! Thank you for reading the third book in The Idle System series! If you’re reading this then you must really like it, so I won’t let you down and promise to finish the series!

First of all, I know a lot of people are going to be thinking the main character has gone back to being overpowered because he destroyed a planet. However, John risked his life to get to the centre of the planet because the system doesn’t give him overwhelming strength, but instead makes him immune to things.

He used a different approach to his problem as there is zero chance he’d get his revenge if he went about it like normal and charge through the city gates, sword in hand and demanding people to die for him.

In a head on fight John can’t match up to a rank 7, even with the advantages the system gives him. So he uses the skills the system gave to do sneak attacks, get in the enemy’s blind spots, shoot poison etc.

For example, Elder Han was sent running by a mixture of guns shooting poison bullets in his blind spots, sneak attacks by teleporting and the nano sword.

Anyway, how did you like the story of revenge? Can you imagine what it would feel like to build a life with someone, only for it to be taken away? Even after writing this story I still can’t imagine the pain someone would feel and anybody who’s lost someone important to them, then you have my sincere condolences.

I’m going to leave you all guessing the answers to the few questions you’ll all have on your mind like...

What does the demon title do? Will Sarah survive? What happens next? And other questions you might have because they’ll get answered in future books.

If you haven’t already, then go to the webpage below and sign up using your email. I’ll send you an email to inform you when the next book in the series is out, but won’t send you any spam mail either.

  Thanks for reading.

  Rank 4

In the seclusion of his master’s planet, John was slumped over on a lopsided chair. He was deep inside his cultivation cave, his head held up by the palm of his hand. His eyes were closed as his thoughts drifted to the most recent messages in his system.

Congratulations on killing your first Rank 7 immortal creature, we have given you a reward of 1 skill point to place anywhere you choose.

Congratulations on killing your first Rank 8 immortal creature, we have given you a reward of 1 skill point to p
lace anywhere you choose.

Congratulations on killing your first Rank 9 immortal creature, we have given you a reward of 1 skill point to place anywhere you choose.

Congratulations on getting your first billion sins, we have given you a reward of 1 skill point to place anywhere you choose.

Congratulations on getting your first 10 billion sins, we have given you a reward of 1 skill point to place anywhere you choose.

He was a bit shocked by the sudden influx of skill points all at once. He needed over fourteen billion sins for the transfer, but a skill point would do the trick, too.

Taking a deep breath, he opened the system.

Welcome to the Idle System 3.9.

  Name: John

  Title: Demon

  Age: 38

  Idlers: 0/227

  Skill Points: 5

  Life Pool: 3

  Toxin Pool: 30.2B

  Sin: 31.7B

  Immortality List:

  Shrink Neurons - Idlers 227/227, Shrink - 8/9, Time - 4y 10mo 21d 21h 40m 6s

His eyes fell onto the number of sin points he had stored up, heart freezing. From his slumped over position, John bolted upright. His mouth and his eyes were gaping open in sheer shock. It took him a moment to regain his composure, mind racing wildly.

I knew the Anti-Assassins were criminals and some had millions of sins... But to gather this many sins, there must have been hundreds of millions of people living on that planet before I destroyed it!

With a shudder, John went back over the information. His current title made him raise an eyebrow.

Demon? I’m a demon now? Wait… I remember what Tom said before the blood oath killed him... He mentioned that I would become either a demon or a saint, but what does it mean?

John certainly didn’t feel any different. His impulses hadn’t suddenly become demonic, and it wasn’t like he would start killing innocent people on a whim now. Maybe it was because of the number of sin points he now carried.

I’ll figure it out later. First, I need to use the transfer option.

After double checking how much time he needed to complete the Shrink Neurons skill, he decided not to spend the skill points. It was wiser to spend them on later levels, which required more time to pass. Someday, when he reached Rank 4, the skills at higher levels would potentially take decades or even up to centuries to complete. Unless he made a habit of destroying planets, raking in enough points to level up would be a pain.
