  Chapter 1: Getting Ready

Danny waited impatiently outside the bathroom door for Tristan to emerge in his costume. They had gone all out to shock this time and both were excited about the Halloween ball. They’d been roomies for over a year now and had been almost inseparable as friends since their first day at college last September.

They complimented each other so well it was a match made in heaven: a friendship match, of course. Theirs was a bromance, rather than a romance, although there had been a lot of speculation about their relationship they were indeed just friends. Danny was the original play boy, with a different babe on his arm each week, sometimes more than one. Tristan was gay, and slutty. He had slept with just about every gay guy on the campus and some not so gay as well. There had been rumours about a lecturer too, but they were just rumours.

Tristan was drop dead gorgeous, with dark hair and devastating blue eyes and every one was madly in love with him. He was from Wyoming and his accent sent shivers down everyone’s spine. And he was such a cowboy, he had even ridden rodeo, which made him a legend and always got him laid. The only one he didn’t leave in a sexually ecstatic wake was Danny, who, probably due to his closeness to the light, was immune to the charms.

Danny wasn’t gay, and he got everything he wanted from the many women in his life. They just seemed to throw themselves at him. He was also gorgeous, blond hair, grey/green eyes and tanned complexion. He had a surfer physique and an easy manner that made every girl within a six mile radius swoon and follow him as if they were under a spell.

So between the two of them, they had sucked the campus dry, and in Tristan’s case, quite literally.

Danny knocked impatiently on the door,

“C’mon, Tris. The party’ll be over before we get there. Get your fairy ass out here right now.” He was about to knock again when the door burst open,

“Who’re you callin’ Fairy Ass, Jock Strap.” Tristan said, with more than a little heat. He hated the nickname Danny had for him with a passion, but only Danny would ever dare call him it to his face because if it had been anyone else Tristan would have kicked their ass. Tristan’s nickname for Danny was equally as derogatory, and equally no one else would have dared refer to him as a Jock Strap to his face.

Danny and Tristan regarded each other in their matching Halloween costumes and both burst out laughing. They were both dressed as slutty school girls, complete with short skirts and stockings and suspenders. They had borrowed bras from a well endowed friend down the hall and had them well stuffed. Their wigs were the opposite colour to their own hair and had been plaited and wired. They had gone all out on this one and even waxed their legs. Tristan stepped back into the bathroom and put the finishing touches to his lip gloss then called Danny over, who had not yet put on any make up,

“You need make up Danny, to make this look authentic.”

“I am not wearing make up, that I draw the line at.” He said, folding his arms and refusing to move. Tristan let out a snort of laughter at Danny’s totally misplaced stubbornness,

“You go through a full body wax and you refuse to wear a little bit of make up that won’ even hurt ya? Danny, you already look like a transvestite, what the hell difference does a bit of make up make?

Danny sighed and allowed Tristan to put some make up on him. He took a good look at Tristan’s face, made up so well a girl could have done it,

“Where’d you learn to put make up on so well?” he asked in surprise,

“I’m gay remember?” Tristan replied, “It’s genetic.” Danny snorted, Tristan was perhaps the most masculine man he knew, apart from himself. There was nothing gay about him if gay meant effeminate and girlie behaviour. Danny regarded him now with more than a little shock. The eye shadow high lighted Tristan’s deep blue eyes and they were framed by the longest lashes Danny had ever seen even with mascara. Tristan’s eye were concentrating on Danny’s face as he made him up, making them even more intense,

“You have beautiful eyes, Tristan, anyone ever tell you that?” Tristan frowned and sniffed Danny’s breath,

“Have you been drinking already?” he asked, laughing,

“No.” Danny told him indignantly, “You know I would never start without you,” he grinned, “I wouldn’t dare, in case you go off in a gay boy huff.” He added making Tristan mutter “Fuck you.” Under his breath because Danny knew fine well that he had never ever done that,

“Look up.” he ordered, sticking his tongue out as he applied mascara to Danny’s lashes, “So if you haven’t been drinking,” Tristan continued, “what’s with the eye compliment? You hittin’ on me cos I’m dressed like a girl?”

“No.” Danny answered, with an easy laugh, “But you gotta admit you make a very pretty girl, Tristan.” Tristan stepped back to admire his handy work and turned Danny so he could examine the results in the mirror.

Danny turned his head from side to side to look at all the angles,

“You don’t make a bad girl either.” Tristan admired, “Great legs, well shaped butt. If I was straight, I’d do you.”

“Thanks.” Danny told him dubiously. He turned to leave, “Come one Fairy Ass. We gotta go and sexually confuse everyone we possibly can.”

“Ok, hold onto your jock strap, Jock Strap.” Tristan told him, chuckling,

“Trouble is, Tris, I’m not wearing one.” Danny confessed,

“Neither am I.” said Tristan as he brushed provocatively past his friend. Danny sniffed as he followed Tristan out into the hall,

“Are you wearing perfume, Tristan?” he asked with more than a little disgust, “Are you sure you’re not a closet transvestite?” he offered his arm for Tristan to link. They had planned to arrive at the party like this, because they just loved to fuel the rumours about them and keep everyone guessing,

“Shut the fuck up, Danny.” Tristan pushed his arm away, “It’s after shave, asshole. Let’s get to this damn party, before it really is over.”

Chapter 2: The Halloween Party and Tricks for Treats

The party was in the Student Union Bar and was already well under way when Danny and Tristan arrived. Their appearance heralded several cheers and they were immediately surrounded by their friends, handed drinks and pulled into the swing of the party. The usual suspects were there. The costumes were admired and the first of many flirts and compliments were made. There were ten of them altogether: Danny, Tristan, Steph, Elisa, Scott, Jason, Rueben, Carly, Gino and Harry. All had been firm friends since the first few weeks of their first semester a year ago and they all got on very well. They never needed an excuse for a party.

Danny and Tristan took their drinks and joined the rest of their friends at a booth they had commandeered in a far corner of the bar,

“So, who’s fer Trick or Treat?” Tristan asked as he dumped himself, as demu
rely as he could onto Danny’s lap. Danny grunted in protest. He would be the first to admit that he and Tristan were close friends but Tristan was taking his role as a slutty school girl just a little too far by planting himself on his lap. He was used to having a girl there but some guy who weighed easily as much as him, if not a little more because Tristan was taller, was kind of pushing his limit,

“We’re way too old to go Trick or Treating.” Protested Steph, one of their friends who was dressed as the Bride of Frankenstein complete with authentic looking bolts in her neck. Usually she was a pretty blond, but in her costume she was extra hot and Danny had made sure that he was sitting right next to her on the couch. It was proving a little difficult to flirt, though with a two hundred pound heavy weight sitting on his knee,

“I ain’t talking about collectin’ candy, Stephie.” Tristan smirked in response to Steph’s objection in a whiny school girl voice. She stuck her tongue out at him and he returned the gesture,

“Oh real mature guys.” Danny said, secretly thinking that Tristan had won that one because that gesture looked so much better coming from a slutty school girl than a bride of Frankenstein, “Quit your bitchin’ and listen to what Tris has to say.” Danny had already heard Tristan’s ideas for the evening and had added some ideas of his own to their plans,

“We’re never too old fer Trick or Treat.” Tristan told everyone, “You just have to do a Trick to get a Treat.”

“What would the Treats be, Tristan?” Carly asked, totally getting the game . She had decided that an emo costume would be very appropriate for the evening, the fact that she was already an emo was beside the point. He grinned and leaned across the table to get closer to her, eliciting another groan from Danny as Tristan’s ass hit a nerve on the top of his thigh. Everyone else leaned in close to listen to their self appointed party planner.

“We decide on a trick, then whoever does it gets a treat.” He told them all, waving his bottle of beer in front of everyone, they all agreed, with cheers, heckles and whistles that they would perform tricks for treats.

Tristan shifted his weight on Danny’s knee which brought about more complaints,

“Quit moanin’, Danny.” He told his friend, “It ain’t every day that you c’n have the hottest guy on the campus sitting in yer lap.”

Danny laughed derisively, “The hottest guy apart from me, you mean.” Tristan turned to face him and fluttered his eyelashes seductively,

“Who’re you callin’ a guy?” he asked, in the sweetest voice he could muster, “Tonight, I’m a hot chick, Danny baby and I am totally your bitch.”

“If you keep sitting in my lap people will start to think that you really are my bitch, Tris. Get of my damn knee, your bony ass is givin’ me pins and needles.”

“Are you sayin’ I’m fat?” he shouted indignantly, just like a girl. They both burst into more laughter,

“Go get another round of beers, bitch.” Danny ordered, dumping Tristan off his knee and unceremoniously onto the floor. Tristan gave a girlie yelp and picked himself up, brushing down his short skirt and adjusting his suspenders,

“I am so gonna get you fer that, Danny Taylor.” Tristan shouted at him in his best imitation of an angry girl that Danny had ever seen. Tristan sure was getting into the role.

They were making a lot of noise and that last escapade had attracted some attention from the other party goers around the large room. Tristan approached the bar, still in role and teetering on his stiletto heels. He ordered his drinks and waited. A guy dressed as Dracula sidled up to him and put his arm around his shoulders,

“Hey, babe,” the guy slurred through his false, vampire teeth. He smelled strongly of beer and something stronger, “I saw what happened just there. He should think himself lucky that a gal like you would even consider sittin’ in his lap.” He leaned in further and Tristan bit his lip to stifle a giggle, was this guy for real? Did he really think he was talking to a woman? “How about you come and sit in my lap ‘n I’ll give you a helluva lot more respect than that bozo.”

Tristan turned and fluttered his eyes at the guy, “I’ll keep you in mind, handsome, if my date starts gettin’ fresh with me.” He collected his drinks and returned to the booth,

“What was all that about?” Danny asked, having observed the whole thing,

“Why? Ya jealous?” Tristan asked in what Danny recognised as his flirty voice. Danny shoved him playfully,

“Was that guy flirting with you?” he asked, in surprise, “Because I just saw him talking to Troy Parker.” Tristan made a face. Troy Parker was the biggest, bigoted homophobe on the campus and his group of friends were all of like minds. Danny and Tristan and their gang had all had run ins with Troy’s lackeys. Tristan took a lot of crap from them because of his openness about being gay. Tristan, they had discovered the hard way, could look after himself, so they mostly avoided each other. Troy would only confront them if he was in a group, and they were alone, he was bigoted and a coward,

“Dude.” Said Tristan as he squashed onto the booth sofa, as close to Danny as he could without actually sitting on his lap which was now occupied by Steph, “I think that guy actually thought I was girl. He even invited me to go sit in his lap if you weren’t treatin’ me right. ”

“No way.” Danny spluttered, but he knew it was a real possibility with Tristan dressed the way he was. He was tall but his slim build and long legs made him look very feminine in the outfit he was wearing. Danny turned to the rest of the group, “Hey guys, I think that Tristan just found his first trick of the night.” He nudged Tristan and the man’s eyes widened in anticipation of the challenge,

“Your bitch is at your command, master.” He said, running his tongue along his perfect top teeth. Danny suddenly felt a flutter of something as he watched the innocent gesture of excitement. He had seen Tristan do this a million times but somehow, looking the way he did right now, it was suddenly very alluring and sexy. He shook his head, this was still just Tristan, no matter how he was dressed.

Tristan’s first trick of the night, it was agreed between their friends, was to go up and kiss the guy that had flirted with him. It was no big deal, Tristan was, after all, no stranger to kissing guy. However this time the guy was going to think he was a girl and that was a risk; especially when it was someone in Troy Parker’s circle. Danny couldn’t help thinking it was a little too risky.

Everyone else was too drunk to think that this was anything but a joke and they all urged Tristan to go and do it. He stood up and grinned at everyone. Danny could see him shifting the way he stood to look more feminine and then, just to get into role he shouted,

“Danny Taylor, you bastard, who the hell is she?” he screamed in his best high pitched squeal. Step stood, getting into the role too,

“What the hell business is it of yours, slut?” she screamed back,

“Danny, are you cheatin’ on me with this, this whore?” his voice if possible raised another octave. Everyone around the table was enjoying the show,

“Danny are you going to let this, bitch speak to me like that?” Steph almost snarled, her hands on her hips, trying very hard to suppress a grin,

“Danny, I’m leaving.” Tristan turned to go with a flick of his hair,

“Ah, no, Tris.. Trisha.” They all almost lost it at Danny’s slip and quick recovery, he reached out to grab Tristan’s arm,

“She didn’t mean anything to me, you’re the one I want.” He smirked,

“Too late, Danny, you c’n keep her, I hope you’re both very happy.” With that he turned and stormed off, swinging his hips and holding his head up high.

As he stormed away he scanned the large, dimly lit room for the guy from the bar. He was still leaning against bar and had witnessed the entire scene. Tristan hid a grin as he walked by, apparently too upset to even notice the guy’s eyes following him,

“Hey wait up.” he called and Tristan stopped walking, sighed exaggeratedly and turned, “Look Danny, I…Oh it’s you.” Tris
tan fluttered his eye lashes and watched the guy blush. He wobbled slightly and Tristan could see he was more than a little wasted,
