Abduction of Guenivere (Once and Future Hearts Book 7)

“I don’t know why either,” she said softly. “You break my heart, over and over.”
He rubbed his jaw. “I heard what the Queen said, on the way to Camelot—about everything being different now. She was right, you know.” He dropped his hand. “Aah! Why am I dithering like this?” he added, his voice harsh.
Tegan drew in a breath. “Did you bring me here to tell me that we should part? Because I already know that.”
His gaze met hers. “Is that what you want? To be free of me?”
“It is what you want,” she pointed out.
His gaze did not waiver. “No, it isn’t,” he said softly.
Her heart smashed itself to pieces inside her chest. She gasped, pressing her hand to her chest. “You don’t like women like me,” she breathed.
“Which is a tom-fool piece of arrogance I wish I had recognized years ago,” Gawain said with a sigh. He threw out his hand toward the arena—no, toward Avalon, which was a tiny spike upon the horizon. “I liked that you were there with me,” he said. “I liked sharing that with you. I’ve fought alongside men all my life and drunk with them and reminisced. Now I can reminisce with you…and that pleases me in a way that makes my chest burn.” He stopped. He was breathing hard. “I think I am falling in love with you, my fierce one.”
Tegan held her fingertips to her mouth to hold in any sound she might make, lest she halt his words and bring an end to this moment.
But to her delight, Gawain did not stop. “We are constantly at loggerheads. We argue. You never accept what I say without due consideration—except in a battle, when you leap instantly to obey, even when you consider the command one of a lunatic.”
Tegan pressed her lips together to not laugh. “Such as running at you?”
Gawain shook his head. “It has taken me until now to realize that I like trouble and tempest, when it comes from you.” He pressed against the chair, coming as close to her as the stone would allow, and caught her face in his hands. His blue eyes roamed over her face. Then he met her gaze. “I would like to love you, hellcat of my heart. Will you forgive me for my obtuse ignorance all these years and let me try?”
“Yes,” Tegan breathed—the most her throat would allow her to speak.
Gawain touched his lips to her. “It won’t be easy,” he warned her. “We are flint and rock to each other, but…but, if we work together, as we did today, then I won’t mind the sparks at all.”
Tegan gripped his tunic in her fist, her heart soaring. “Then you had best kiss me, Gawain, or I will give you more trouble than you deserve.”
Gawain’s eyes gleamed. “Promise?” he murmured and kissed her.

Diana by the Moon
A heartwrenching story of love, loss and triumph.
Diana, an independent Roman woman in a time when women are mere property, is forced to provide food and shelter for an entire northern British estate. She trusts no one.
Alaric, fierce and proud Celtic warrior, and trusted lieutenant to the upstart British leader, Arthur, must have Diana’s estate to complete his mission. Failure would doom all of Britain.
Alaric and Diana reluctantly cooperate to ensure survival, but famine, Saxon raids, a harsh winter and the conniving of mutual enemies test their resolve.
A story of sacrifice, courage, loyalty and ultimately, a love that erases the boundaries of culture and upbringing, providing hope for a better future for themselves and those who follow in their footsteps.

How to make a big difference!
Reviews are powerful.
Authors like me, without the financial muscle of a sleek New York publisher backing me, can’t take advertisements out in the subways and billboards of the world.
On the other hand, New York publishers would kill to get what I have: A committed and loyal group of readers.
Honest reviews of my books help bring them to the attention of other readers. If you enjoyed this book I would be grateful if you could spend just a few minutes leaving a review (it can be as short as you like) on the book’s page where you bought it.
