I would like to thank you for kindly reading my first novel. As always, it starts with an idea, but putting pen to paper takes time, and I sure have enjoyed this journey.

  Everywhere mentioned throughout this story is ‘real’, all of the places I have personally lived in and/or travelled to.

  I hope you enjoyed Jennifer and Jack’s adventure and whirlwind romance!

  Acknowledgements

  There are so many people who touch your life on a daily basis and don’t realise the impact they make on you. I truly didn’t think about this until I wrote this book and I found myself listening more intently to how people say things and the humour that goes with it.

  First of all, I would like to thank my mum, Liz. She is always there for me, listening, giving me advice and encouraging me even though I’m all grown up and have two kiddies of my own. She read this book chapter by chapter as I wrote it, and has read it cover to cover I don’t even know how many times. She’s probably lost count herself! She’s one in a million! I love you!

  Secondly, I must thank my husband, Richard, who has given me the opportunity and time to sit down and write. Since we met, our lives have taken on many wonderful adventures, but most wouldn’t have been possible without him, and they certainly wouldn’t have been half as colourful or as much fun! I love you millions, thank you for being you!

  Thirdly, my beautiful children who are my everything. I write when they are at school and nursery, or into the evenings when they are in dreamland. They make me so proud to call myself their mummy, and it made my knees go weak when they saw this book for the first time in print (obviously, they haven’t read it!). They were beyond proud of me and I think my six year old has told everyone he knows that his mummy wrote a book! If I have only two fans in the world, I’m glad it’s them!

  And now for everyone else! I didn’t tell many people that I was writing a book. I waited until it was done, then I told a very select few. I didn’t want to be judged, but I’ve been truly overwhelmed by the support and encouragement given. It’s been heart warming, and I feel very blessed.

  To those who have pushed me to publish and have read, given me advice, edits, you name it, I’ll just list a few names, otherwise we will be here all day! Nicola – my amazing school friend that now lives in Indonesia, so thankful for whattsapp, it allows us to speak almost every day about books / life / crap chat! Nikki – my oldest school friend, you’re always so encouraging! Jill – my uni friend, the most positive person I know! Jan – from my student working days, you keep me grounded! I don’t know how we went so long without speaking when I lived abroad, I’m so grateful we picked up from where we left off! Emma – my playground chum! We’ve only known each other a couple of years but you are an inspiration and have been incredibly supportive! Thank you for reading, loving and designing my book cover! You are one crazy talented lady! I’d also like to thank my other playground mummy buddies, you ladies are nuts and I feel so thankful to have met each and every one of you!

  About The Author

  Yvonne lives in Aberdeen, Scotland, with her husband, and two children. After living in Houston, TX, Malaysia and Denmark, it is refreshing to be home, close to family, and settled again. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, or chasing after her two little monkey’s and their endless, yet incredible, social lives! Yvonne has a BA in Corporate Communication and an MBA in Oil and Gas Management.
