And if she was going to be honest about it, she wanted to see exactly how badly he did want her. He was being tested just like a student in her class. If he passed, he got her. If he failed, he would get her anyway because she was through pretending she could live without him. A lifetime being in his arms, no matter her placement in his life, would have to be enough because she couldn’t exist in a world without him.
Another four hours passed as Makil stared and paced in front of the locked door. He ran his hand through his hair and massaged the back on his neck. Checking his watch once again he was fearful when he saw there was only another four hours left before they landed and the second part of his plan fell into play. He had his most trusted advisors standing by in the chapel to perform their marriage. So far Janea had not gone along with his well laid out plans. He was still unable to even get her to talk to him.
He knew her secrets, and he knew what she coveted most. She simply wanted a family, something that she had never been fortunate enough in her life to have. Well, he could give her that. He wanted her round and happy with their child. Maybe that would prove his love to her.
But a child was not barging ploy. A child was a treasure all on its own. He had lost her. There was nothing more he could do. He finally felt the loss and loneliness that she must have felt each time they had parted. The pain brought him to his knees. He had never once considered her feelings.
If their relationship was beyond repair then he needed to do as she wished and return her to the States and walk out of her life, no matter how badly it would hurt him to do so. Yes, that was the only answer. His love for her would never stop, but her happiness was what he desired above all else.
With his forehead resting on the bedroom door he quietly knocked, “Janea?”
There was no answer. He tried again and still no answer. He tried the doorknob and strangely found it unlocked. Slowly he pushed the door open to reveal Janea in bed, asleep. The pull of her body was stronger than he could resist. Quickly and quietly he removed his clothes and joined her under the covers. In her sleep she reached for him, and it was the most natural thing in the world to answer her with his body. If letting her go was what she wanted, then he needed to make their last time together something memorable. His memories of tonight would have to last him a lifetime.
What woke her was the delicious warmth spreading up from between her legs. His lips always could drive her crazy. When he added first one and then two fingers she didn’t stand a chance of keeping the charade alive any longer. “Mikal!”
With his lips and tongue, he teased and lapped at the bundle of nerves that lay hidden within her folds. Her body responded to his every touch and movement. “Mikal please!”
His only response was to deepen his fingers and find the one spot inside that he knew would take her over the edge, at the same time he sucked her into his mouth, flicking her with his tongue. He knew her body so well, and she came in a blinding flash of light, breaking apart and raining down around him. Still he didn’t relent. He kept up the movement and pressure until he felt her quickening again. Covering her with his body, he pushed home in one swift plunge and stilled reveling in the feel of her surrounding him, holding him tight.
He kissed her eyelids and cheeks and finally her mouth, taking her with his tongue. She could taste herself on his tongue which further excited her senses. His movements sped up as he took one nipple into his mouth to suckle and bite. He knew! He knew what he was doing to her.
When he reached down between their bodies and pinched and teased her already swollen bud, she was left with no place to go but up, and up, and over the abyss he was pushing her over. She felt his seed explode and coat the inside of her womb just before she lost all consciousness.
Perhaps only moments later she came to, still wrapped in his arms with dampness on her chest where his head rested. She was confused and moved by his tears.
“Makil?”
“My love, I am sorry. I have treated you poorly once again. Earlier I came to the conclusion that I alone have done irreparable damage to any chance at happiness with you. I only came in to tell you that if it was your wish to return home…then, I will let you go.”
“The way I have so carelessly treated you since the moment we met is not something I am proud of. I have caused you nothing but sadness and pain, and you have already had too much of that in your life. I only want your happiness.”
No words could have meant more to her. “Mikal, you said you have treated me poorly again?”
He nodded and brushed a curl from her face. “I…I did not intend to make love with you Janea. Please believe I was simply caught up in the moment. You do that to me you know. Only in your arms do I find comfort and a mindless release. I…did not use protection.”
“I see.” She tried to keep her voice emotionless, but it was hard when inside she was cheering for all of his seeds to swim.
“Well, Mike,” she felt him tense. “I guess you better make an honest woman of me. You could have just knocked me up.” The incredible look on Mikal’s face was priceless. When she pushed him back on the bed and straddled his hips, he was speechless. And when she bent over and whispered into his ears all of the dastardly things she wanted to do to him before the plane landed, he was hard and wanting in an instant.
She leaned down till their lips were only a breath apart, “I love you Mikal.”
He answered right back without a second’s hesitation, “I love you Janea.”
They were married that same night and only nine short months of married bliss later an announcement hit the news.
