“So you just gone continue to ignore a nigga like I'm not even here, Ronnie?”
I don't say anything.
“Ronnie.”
“Yes, I'm going to ignore you. I’m supposed to be in my dorm room. But, nooo you just had to bring me here.”
“You would rather be on that big hard ass mattress in your room, than be here with me?”
“Yes I would.”
“Then get yo ass up then. I’ll take you home.”
“I ain’t going no fucking where now. You got me twisted.”
When he snatches the covers off of me, I jump up ready to slap the shit out of him. This nigga just don't know that he has brought out a side in me that I don't even know exists.
“What are you gone do with your short ass?” he says with a smirk.
I don't say anything as I stare into his eyes. Turk is taking me through changes that I’m not use to and can’t say that I am ready for. We look into each other’s eyes before he grabs my face.
“I’m sorry Ronnie. I ain’t mean to hurt you. When I say that shit, I mean it.”
I don’t say anything as I pull my face away, before bending over to grab the cover off the floor. I get back in bed and lie down but he is right behind me. I feel him pulling me into his arms. I can’t even front and say that his touch doesn’t feel good. He pulls the cover over both of our heads.
“I swear, that shit happened before we even had sex Ron.”
“I’m not so sure Turk.”
“I’m being honest with you. I’m feeling the fuck out of you. Why would I mess that up, especially after promising you that I wouldn’t hurt you? I know what type of female you are. That bitch gave me head the same night I ate you out. I thought that we was just getting to know each other at that point. I didn’t know I was gone get in this deep with you so fast.”
I turn around and look into his eyes. A tear slides down my cheek against my will. He wipes it away and places a kiss where it fell. I don’t know what this man is doing to me, but I want to resist, even though every bone in my body won’t allow me to do that. So I close my eyes and when I feel his lips on mine, I welcome the kiss. His kisses always take the breath from my body. He has taken my virginity and is causing me to fall for him in the process. Turk pushes me back and climbs on top of me.
“I swear, I would never hurt you Ronnie and I meant it. That shit was before we took it there. I don’t want that bitch.”
“What do you want, Turk?”
“To try this out,” he says, while moving his pointer finger back and forth between us.
“I want that too, but I just don’t know.”
He covers my mouth with his and I surrender, just like that. The tense muscles that I was feeling in my body from the fight are now in relaxed mode. He moves down and explores my neck. He finds sensitive places on me that I didn't even know existed. Before I knew it, he is eating me out as I grip the sheets, arching my back.
“That feel good shawty?”
“Yes.”
I was about to cum when he suddenly stops and slides inside of me. It is nowhere as painful as the first time, it actually feels amazing. I’m in shock with the way he is making my body feel. Then all off a sudden a feeling comes over my body that leaves me shaking and screaming his name. We go at it until I tap out and fall asleep, with the lingering thoughts of us in love or me just dickmatized.
Chapter Thirteen
Vega
The flight back to Puerto Rico is longer than usual, or maybe it is just because I can’t wait to get to my ass off this damn plane. It’s hot as hell as I walk to the car that’s waiting on the curb for me. I called my father last night, letting him know that I would be coming in today and he already had shit laid out. The moment Cruz told me why she’s been acting a goddamn fool, I was ready to hop out the bed and walk to Puerto Rico if I could. That shit blew the fuck out of me. Gabriella’s ole loud mouth ass always running around starting some shit, but I got something for her today. She and I have a lot of talking to do, or should I say, I’ma do the talking and she better listen or I’m beating her ass.
“Good afternoon Mr. Santos.” My driver says, as I slide into the back seat.
I nod my head and close the door so he can get my bags. It takes him a few seconds but once he’s back in the car, we pull away. I swallow down the bottle of water that I just pulled from the small freezer because my throat is dryer than a muthafucka. I been drinking since I woke up this morning, including on the plane, and now my mouth is paying for it. I pretty much swallow that whole bottle before reaching for another one. I polish off both bottles and try to relax for the rest of the ride.
“Mr. Santos, where shall I take you? Your house or your parent’s house?”
“Mine. I’ll holla at them later.”
He nods before the dark glass separating us, slides back up. I close my eyes and lay my head back against the seat again. It’s spinning like crazy from all the shit I’ve been drinking so I open my eyes back up. The last thing I need is to get drunk and pass out. I ain’t really trying to be in the city any longer than I have to. I check the time on my watch before catching the light on my phone. It’s Cruz calling me.
“What’s up baby?”
“Didn’t I tell you to call me when you got there? You don’t listen.”
I stretch my legs out in front of me. “My bad, but I really did just get here. I’m still in the car headed to my spot.”
“Where you going after that?”
I debate whether or not to tell her the truth but decide to anyway. Hell, why not, it’s not like she doesn’t already know.
“To check on shit with Gabriella.”
The line is quiet for a few minutes before I hear her suck her teeth.
“What you quiet for?”
“No reason. Just call me later, I’m about to head to class. I have a test today.”
The attitude in her voice is so heavy, I can feel it through the phone line.
“Well I hope you pass.”
“Yea.” The phone clicks in my ear so I throw it back down on the seat.
Either she wants me to handle this shit or she doesn’t. It has already taken her ass too long to tell me. I look out the window as we pull into the parking lot of my house. As soon as the car stops, I’m out grabbing my bag. I only brought one because I don’t plan on staying long. If I can handle all this shit today then I’ll be right back out in the morning.
“I’ll inform your parents of your stay Mr. Santos.” My driver tips his hat and gets back into the car and pulls away.
With my shit in hand, I don’t even bother to take it in the house. I throw it right on the back seat of my jeep and pull out. I know I’m a little extra riled up at the moment, so I pull my blunt from behind my ear and light it up. The smoke surrounds my face as I puff away my stress. I blow out smoke through my nose and press the screen on my radio to answer my call. Clearly my Bluetooth has already picked up to my phone.
“Yo,” I say to Rico.
“Nigga why you ain’t been answering yo phone? I been calling yo ass all morning.”
“Bruh, you ain’t finna believe the shit I’m about to tell you.”
I can hear some movement in the background before hearing his voice again.
“Lay it on me.”
“Why the fuck Gabriella done took her ass and told Cruz that the baby she’s pregnant with is mine?”
“The fuck nigga? Why you ain’t tell me that shit?”
I shake my head at this dumb ass nigga.
“I didn’t tell yo ass because it ain’t shit to tell. That ain’t my damn baby. I don’t know who the daddy is but it sho as hell ain’t me.”
“Well, why she say that shit then?” The confusion in Rico’s voice matches the confusion in mine, when I first heard it come out of Cruz’s mouth last night.
“That’s why I’m in PR trying to find out.”
“You went all the way home for that? Why you ain’t just call her?”
“I though
t about it, but shiiidd I needed to get away from Cruz for a minute. She pissed about this shit so she’s acting too crazy right now.”
“I’m glad I ain’t you. Hit me back when you get your baby mama drama situated.” Rico’s laughter brings out mine as well.
We both laugh for a little while before I hang up. I drive a few more minutes before I’m turning into Gabriella’s neighborhood. Being that I’ve been here a million times before, I know exactly where to go. I park in her driveway and hop out. She’s been staying in this same spot since we were in high school. Now that her parents are dead, she lives here alone. I don’t see how in the hell she sleeps in the same house her mama died in but, that ain’t my business.
I knock on the door for a few minutes before I hear the locks turning. When she opens the door, she looks shocked for a second before it’s replaced with a smile. She steps aside and motions for me to come in. I walk pass her and into the kitchen to grab some water. When I get back into the living room, she’s curled up on the sofa watching TV as if I’m not even standing here.
“Get yo ass up Gabby, this ain’t no damn social call.”
She looks at me with a blank look. “Why it ain’t? It is every other time you come over here.”
“That was then, this is now. Why you starting shit with my girl?”
Her eyes roll. “I ain’t starting shit with nobody. All I did was tell her the truth. My baby is yours.”
I knew I was going to have to beat her ass.
“No the fuck it ain’t!”
She snickers. “Yes it is. Stop lying to yourself, baby daddy.”
This girl is sounding crazy as shit right now. I ain’t slept with her ass since her birthday when were in high school. If she still pregnant from way back then, she needs to get her damn body checked.
“Gabriella, like on the real, stop bullshitting and tell me what’s up. You fucking up my home life right now. Why you even approach Cruz on that shit?”
I move from standing at the door to sitting on the sofa across from her. She scoots up and looks at me in my face like the shit she’s saying is true.
“I’m tired of her walking around like she’s somebody because she’s with you. That shit is annoying as fuck.”
I scrunch my face up trying to make sure I’m hearing this chick right. She’s never met Cruz a day in her fucking life before we picked Rico up. How would she know what Cruz is doing?
“You don’t even know her, and she is some damn body. She got your ass shook,” I point my finger at her. “You on some ole stupid shit right now. I don’t know what the fuck you trying to make up but, you need to kill it. I ain’t with this shit.”
“Nigga you started this shit. This is your damn baby. You expect for me to just keep it a secret?”
Okay, now she’s pissing me off. I stand up from the sofa and walk back by the door. I can’t be this close to her right now, because I might knock her fuckin’ ass out. “That ain’t my fucking baby! Stop saying that shit. What the fuck you doing? What kind of bullshit you on, girl?”
I swear when this bitch starts laughing, it takes everything in me not to squeeze the life out of her. This ain’t no lil’ laugh either, this hoe is full out laughing. Tears rolling down her face and shit. I got something for that though. I walk back around the couch and snatch her up off the sofa. Just like I thought, she quit all that damn laughing.
“I’m not playing no games with you. Tell me what the fuck you trying to do?”
“All I want is to do what’s best for my baby and that’s to have his father in his life. If this is what it takes, then so be it.”
I look around the room trying to control myself before releasing her. As soon as I pull my arms off of her, she walks to the front door and snatches it open. “Get out of my house.”
“Fine. Stay your ass out of my life.” I said, as I walk out the door.
“I will. You are done using me. So now you want me out of your life? Fuck you, Vega.”
I keep walking to my jeep, not even bothering to pay her crazy ass any more attention. Used her? I ain’t used her ass. I paid for all of her services for this very reason. We been knowing each other, but when I needed a lawyer for Rico I made sure to pay her for doing her job. We peoples and all but, business is business. She’s a lawyer. I had the dough, so it was an even exchange. Had I known her ass was coming with all this bullshit, I would have found someone else.
No more closer to the reason why she’s running around spreading a lie about being pregnant by me, I speed down the road back to my house. I need to make a stop to see my parents, but after that, I’m out. Coming back to Puerto Rico won’t happen anymore unless it’s time to handle business. Too much shit going on down here.
Chapter Fourteen
Cruz
“Have a good weekend, Cruz,” my professor says as, I place my test in the basket on her desk.
“You do the same,” I smile and leave.
I pull my phone out as soon as I’m out of the classroom and power it back on. My professor is nice but she doesn’t play about phones during test time. I have studied way too hard and done way too much work this semester to just let it go down the drain. I check my text from Vega before walking to my truck. He asked what I was doing when I just told his butt I had to take a test. Why would he even ask that? That was just dumb.
I don’t even bother to text him back. Instead I turn up my Future CD and pull out of the parking lot. I check the time and it’s still early, so I think I’ma drive to go see my mama. I ain’t seen her triflin’ ass in forever. Plus, I have so much stuff on my mind, I just need a break. Even though I know going to her house isn’t necessarily a break, I go anyway. It takes a little over thirty minutes to get here because of traffic but, I made it.
“Dang, it’s hot.” I fan myself with my hand as I walk to my mama’s doorstep. The door is open but, the screen door is closed. I pull it open and call out for her as soon as I walk in. I don’t want to scare her.
“Ma! Where you at?”
The apartment is messy as usual, food and beer containers all over the dining room and kitchen table. An astray is sitting on the couch with cigarette butts in it, along with a half empty bottle of Vodka lying next to it.
“I’m in my room. What you doing here?” She yells.
What am I doing here? I don’t even damn know.
I take the stairs two at a time and round the corner to her room. Surprisingly, she’s alone, in nothing but a shirt and a raggedy pair of pajama shorts. She’s lying across her bed looking at TV.
“Look at what the cat drug in. You must need something?”
I look at her like she’s crazy. If I did need something, I wouldn’t be coming to her ass to get it.
“No I don’t need nothing from you. I just came to make sure one of these nasty old men you let fuck you ain’t come around and killed your ass.”
“Bitch, don’t cuss at me. You ain’t that gotdamn grown.”
I suck my teeth and sit in the chair she has in the corner of her room. I don’t even bother to say anything else to her. Instead I just lean on the window seal and look out the window at the little kids running around outside playing. My mind drifts to Vega and what he and that little pregnant bitch is doing. Dang, I hate how pretty she is. If she was ugly, I probably wouldn’t care so much but, this hoe is actually cute. Who am I kidding? Even if she was ugly, I would still have a problem with this shit. I don’t want no other woman having my man’s baby. What woman does?
“That lil’ fine ass Mexican boy must have broken up with yo ass?” My mother’s voice breaks my train of thought.
I look over my shoulder at her and shake my head. “Why you say that?”
“First off all, since when do you come over here just to sit? You hate coming over here. Every time you’re here, you got your nose turned up, or sitting on the edge of my couch and shit like you scared to touch something. Shit, you don’t even use the bathroom over here, so if you here chilling like you’re comfo
rtable, something big must be on your mind.”
I’m slightly taken aback by what my mama says. I didn’t know she noticed these things. I instantly start to feel bad because, I never want to make her feel like I look down on her or anything.
“Mama, I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be that way. You just always have it so dirty. You never used to be like this when we were little. It was always so clean.”
My mama waves her hand dismissively. “Whatever. If you want it clean, you clean it then. But, we ain’t talking about my shit, we talking about yours. What did that little immigrant do to you? He dumped you for somebody else? Because, if he did, I’ll go kick his lil’ illegal ass and have him shipped back to Mexico with the rest of his people. You know he probably got about 12 siblings out there.”
I smile at my mama’s protectiveness over my feelings. She’s always so rude. I forgot what it was like to have her actually care about our problems.
“No mama, he didn’t break up with me.”
She sits up against her headboard and put her TV on pause. “Well what he do? And don’t say nothing, because I know it’s something. You ain’t looking like somebody stole your candy for nothing.” Her face lights up and she snaps her finger. “That’s it, ain’t it? He gave your candy away? Another woman sucking on that lollipop, ain’t it?”
“Oh my God mama! Really?”
“Yea bitch really. Is that what happened?”
I almost enjoy the caring tone in her voice. Not wanting to ruin the moment, I go ahead and nod.
“Some girl says she’s pregnant by him.”
“Do you believe her?”
“That’s the same thing Van and Ronnie asked. I don’t know mama. I don’t want to but, I don’t know. What you think I should do because I don’t know.”
She’s quiet for a minute. “Cruz, I know I may not have set the best example while y’all was growing up but, I made sure to keep y’all together and looking nice. Keeping your hair done, buying y’all the best clothes, making sure all y’all went to college. I did it because I never wanted y’all to feel like you needed a man. Having one is nice, but they ain’t shit. Fuck ‘em. If he cheated and that baby is his, kick his ass to the curb. You don’t deserve no shit like that. I see the way y’all are with each other and its nice but, don’t take any unnecessary bullshit from him because he takes care of you.” She pauses to make sure I’m listening. “You can take care of your damn self.”
