Play For Me

For some reason, my interest in Clio surprised her, which made me want her even more. It took me a while to piece together that she was that Barnes, daughter of one of Denver’s elite businessmen and heir to a multinational financial syndicate. Not that any of that mattered to me. Her beauty drew me in initially—I’m a guy after all—but her brains and goofy sense of humor kept me coming back for more. The way she kissed me, like she could never ever get enough? Yeah, that was a big draw. Whenever we were together, she made the rest of the world fade away.

This weekend, I was finally going to see her, talk to her, maybe explain some things, and I didn’t have any room inside me to pretend interest in any other girl, even one as ready to give me sex as that groupie in my shower. Someone like Dez wouldn’t understand my commitment to Clio, never in a million years.
