The Omega Became My Equal

  "Who the hell are you? Why are you on my land?" The bastard didn't even recognize me. I decided to make sure he would never forget. I grabbed him by his throat cutting off his air supply. He grabbed my hand and tried to loosen my grip but that only made it tighter. The color drained from his face and he stopped struggling. Right when he was about to pass out I dropped him. He gasped and I bent down and grabbed him by the collar.

  "Who am I?" I said in an icy tone making sure he caught every word. "I'm the mate of the she wolf your ass of an alpha took and your worst nightmare. You have one chance to tell me where she is and one chance only. I know you had something to do with this and if I find out you're the one that shot her your death won't be quick. You really don't want to fuck with me right now so if you value your life start talking." It took him less than two seconds to respond.

  "She's underground, near the dungeons. Run east and you'll see something that looks like a shed. When you open it there will be a stairway. Go down and turn right. She's in there tied up with the alpha," he chocked out. I broke both his legs and he screamed out in pain.

  "Had to make sure you wouldn't follow us. If you're lying you're dead," I told him before heading off in the right direction.

  I saw the shed and so far it seemed like he was telling the truth. Her scent was getting stronger, but so was the smell of blood. I burst through the door and headed down the stairs. I had this strange feeling that they were expecting me since there wasn't a single guard around and this is where they kept prisoners. I turned right and kicked down the door, that's when I saw her. She was bleeding, but that wasn't what caught my attention. Michael had a knife to her throat and Paul was lying on the floor dead.

  "Let her go," I said not daring to drop my gaze. He was an alpha and he expected me to submit, I would die before I submitted to him. "I see you've changed. But it won't make a difference. Underneath it all your still just and omega. You don't stand a chance against a true alpha. Isn't that right sweetheart," he said smirking at Lindsey. I growled and that got his attention.

  "Let her go and fight me. I'll show you a true alpha," I was pissed. As soon as he removed the knife from her throat I was going to kill him.

  "I like a challenge. Let's see what you're all about, omega." He shifted and so did I. Now was the time to prove to Lindsey that I could defend her. That she could trust me to take care of her. I wouldn't fail her and she wouldn't have to live in fear anymore. I snapped at him and he growled going into defense mode. I lunged at him and he dodged me. He went for my side and I moved quickly, now I knew I was faster. He came at me again and I dodged making him go straight into a wall. He shook it off and I went in for the kill. I pinned him and was about to rip his throat out when he kicked me off. He ran at me and I met him midair. We fell to the ground both trying to get the upper hand. I could hear Lindsey screaming and trying to break free but I couldn't get distracted, it would be over soon. I took a bite out of his shoulder and tasted his blood. I tossed him against the wall and he stumbled to get up. He came at me again and I clawed at his side. He howled and pain. He was bleeding heavily and I grabbed him by the neck shaking furiously until I heard a snap. When he hit the ground he wasn't moving. He was gone. I was making way over to Lindsey when a lot happened at once.

  "Chasin behind you!" she screamed. The next thing I knew I was knocked over and Michael was standing over me, he wasn't dead. He was about to go for my throat when a wolf came out of nowhere and ripped his throat out killing him for good. Lindsey had broken through the chains and killed him. I shifted back and so did she. I caught her before she hit the ground as she struggled to stand on her feet.

  "It's over," she said smiling and I nodded.

  "Yeah sweetheart it’s over."

  "You were amazing. You saved me," she said looking at me in awe. I felt so much pride in that moment.

  "And you saved me." She laughed and it was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard.

  "I guess we're even then."

  "Yeah we're even."

  "I'm sorry, for everything," she said seriously and I knew it was only a matter of time before we had this conversation.

  "So am I. I shouldn't have left you," I said feeling guilty. "No it wasn't your fault. I should have had more faith in you. You've always been more than just an omega to me. I shouldn't have treated you like you were something weak and fragile. I just didn't want anything to happen to you."

  I could hear the sincerity in her voice and I knew exactly how she felt.

  "I know. I couldn't stand the thought of anything happening to you either. You have no idea how much I love you. How much I've always loved you." Her heart rate sped up before she kissed me. I kissed her back leaving her breathless. When she caught her breath she smiled teasingly at me and I raised an eyebrow amused.

  "Well I love you too. I guess we have that in common. By the way I hope you realize that there is no way I'm becoming a Luna. That's my pack you've been leading and I don't plan to give it up. I guess you'll have to settle for second in command. Maybe we should give you a new title. Something like similar to Luna. What do you think? Something with a nice ring to it."

  I couldn't help but burst out laughing.

  "I'm no Luna or whatever you want to call it. I'm all Alpha baby and I can prove it if you want," my eyes roamed her body suggestively and she started to squirm.

  "Well neither am I so I guess we’ll just have to see who comes out on top," my eyes filled with lust at the thought. I was crazy about this woman. I mind-linked the rest of the pack letting them know it was over and they could head back. I ran with her in my arms until we reached the pack house. After I made sure she was okay I was definitely going to take her up on that offer.

  CHAPTER 23 Lindsey It's been three weeks since the incident with Michael. I was finally getting to go home after making a full recovery. The doctors and nurses had been extremely nice but I couldn't spend another minute in the pack hospital without losing my mind. Chasin visited me every day before and after he went to alpha training. I couldn't wait to get back out there and train with him. The look on his face when he lost would be priceless.

  "Hey baby ready to get out of here?" He asked walking through the door with a smile on his face and an arm full of flowers.

  "You have no idea," I said putting on my sneakers. He grabbed my hand and kissed me on the cheek as we walked out together. I breathed in the fresh air as I stepped outside. It felt amazing to hear the birds, smell the trees and plants. Nature was beyond beautiful and being a werewolf made it even more so. I couldn't stop smiling and my wolf was just as happy. We felt free and rejuvenated.

  "Chasin catch me," I said taking off running as fast as I could. He growled playfully and starting to run after me. He was keeping up and his new speed amazed me. Before long he tackled me. Right before we hit the ground he switched our positions so I landed on top of him. I stared down at him as I tried to catch my breath. His eyes held me captive and it was like I was seeing him for the first time all over again. My heart beat a little faster and my stomach did a flip. He was truly that gorgeous. I couldn't really find the words to express what I felt in that moment so I kissed him passionately. I loved him, I was in love with him, and I wanted him to know it.

  He kissed me back and held me closer. I felt his fingertips graze the skin on my lower back where my shirt rode up making me fell the sparks and tingles only his touch could bring. I started to get hot and bothered and I knew he smelt my arousal because he groaned. I started to move my hips grinding into him, letting him know exactly what I wanted. It felt like so long since we had been intimate.

  "Lindsey you just got out of the hospital," he said holding my hips tightly so I couldn't move.

  I knew he was having an internal battle with his wolf because he was rock hard underneath me.

  "I'm fine," I said kissing his jaw and neck. He was really enjoying it and my wolf was pleased. "Are you sure?" he asked and I know he was about to lose control. I wanted him too. We both
needed this. Instead of answering him I reached down and unbuttoned his pants. Once I unzipped them I pulled his member free and stroked it.

  "I need you," I whispered in his ear and that's all it took. He took his shirt off, spreading it on the ground before laying me down gently. He started to undress me and I could hardly stand waiting I was so wet. I started to squirm and squeeze my legs together. He smirked at my discomfort before spreading my legs wide.

  "Do n’t worry. I'll do all the work. I'll take care of you." He teased me grabbing my breast and suckling my nipples as I moaned. He kissed down my stomach to my inner thigh before giving my core a nice slow lick. He feasted on me and I chanted his name.

  "Chasin please," I begged not being able to take it anymore. Without warning he thrust into me and I was in complete bliss. He felt so good and his rhythm was perfect. I wrapped my legs around his waist and arched my back making him groan.

  "Fuck Lindsey you feel so good," he said kissing my neck and shoulder. He licked my mark and I felt myself tighten around him close to an amazing orgasm. He cursed again as he went faster and I started to scream. We were both close to our peak and at that moment both our canines extended. We marked each other again and reached the ultimate high.

  "I love you," he said as he rested on top of me.

  "I love you too," I said still dazed.

  "That was-"

  "Nothing short of amazing" I said finishing his sentence. He really did know how to take care of a girl. He laughed and agreed and we laid there enjoying each other’s company. We had just made love on a forest floor and I couldn't have been happier. We washed up in a nearby stream and had another round before we got dressed and headed back. I felt so happy and carefree nothing could bring me down. We walked into the pack house and I was giggling as he smiled and shook his head. I told him I wanted to check on things with the pack and get up to speed so we decided to head to the office. When I opened the door I froze. All of the giddiness disappeared. We were not alone and I did not expect this.

  "Young lady you have some explaining to do."

  My parents were back early.

  CHAPTER 24

  Lindsey

  "Mom. Dad. You're back early," I said with a nervous smile.

  "Obviously not early enough," my dad said looking from me to Chasin.

  "When were you going to tell us you found your mate?" my mom said asked in a calm tone. I knew better though she was ready to explode.

  "And that it was Chasin," my dad finished as I searched for the right words.

  "I was going to. I promise. We just had some things to work before I did," I answered quickly.

  "All the phone calls and you couldn't mention it once. Do you know how irresponsible that was?" my dad practically yelled.

  "Yes and I'm sorry." "And what about this issue with Michael. You didn't even inform us that there was a threat. You could have been killed Lindsey. What were you thinking? I thought you were ready but I guess I was wrong."

  He was yelling at first but that wasn't what bothered me. The look of disappoint at the end as his words trailed off really got to me. I wanted the position more than anything. I had worked so hard and the sad thing was I completely understood his point.

  "I just wanted to prove that I could handle things on my own. I didn't know things would get that out of hand." I was on the verge of crying and I felt as Chasin pulled me close.

  "With all due respect Mr. and Mrs. Cabot, Lindsey did a great job leading the pack while you were away and our relationship was ours to sort out without interference. It's true she did act irresponsibly blaming herself for everything with Michael but her heart was in the right place and she kicked ass."

  "Watch your mouth," my mom corrected and he smiled sheepishly.

  "Yes mam, sorry. I'm just trying to say she protected the pack and she showed both bravery and loyalty. Shouldn't that count for something?"

  They were silent as they thought over his words.

  "You put yourself in great danger Lindsey," my mom said softly.

  "I know," I said in the same tone.

  "You should have come to us. We could have lost you because of your pride," my dad said firmly. I nodded my head in agreement.

  "And you young man. I don't recall you being an Alpha when I left," my mom said to Chasin.

  "About that, perks of being your daughters mate I guess" he said scratching the back of his neck.

  "Speaking of being my daughter’s mate, what are your intentions with her?" my dad said giving Chasin a look that would have made anyone cower.

  "Only the best sir. I only want her to be happy."

  "Can you provide for her? What are your future plans?"

  "Of course sir. I plan to take some online business courses at the end of term so that I can contribute and help with the pack finances."

  "Will you protect her? Keep her safe from harm?"

  "With my life sir."

  "Will you love her?" The last question came from my mom.

  "Until my last breath and even then I won't be able to stop."

  The sincerity with which he spoke made my heart flutter and eyes glisten. My mom smiled and I knew he’d won her over.

  "Welcome to the family" she said eyes glistening with tears. "Honey I'm so happy for you," she said coming to embrace me. Chasin and my dad shook hands and I felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders.

  "I'm trusting you with my daughter and my pack. Don't let me down son," he said giving him a serious look.

  "No sir. I promise I won't" Chasin replied, his voice full of determination.

  I was smiling from ear to ear when we heard a knock at the door. Just when I thought we were out of the line of fire on walked Chasin's parents.

  "Mom."

  "Chasin I was so worried," Mrs. Waters said pulling him into an embrace. She was crying and I could see how much she loved him. "You just ran off and then I heard so many rumors. I knew you were safe but I was so confused," she continued and I could see and feel the guilt pouring off Chasin in waves.

  "I know Mom I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you."

  "You gave us quite the turn son," his dad said hugging him as well.

  "I promise it won't happen again."

  "What's going on? You look so different and you radiate so much power," his mom asked curiously.

  "She's your mate isn't she?" his dad said and he nodded.

  "That's why you left," he nodded again and it was my turn to feel guilty.

  "Oh no Mom she didn't-" his mom’s hands had covered her mouth she had started to shake.

  "My baby"

  "No, no Mom she didn't reject me" he said hurriedly and she gave a sigh of relief.

  "We had a few issues to work out but we're good now. Actually more than good," he beamed and pulled me closer.

  "So it’s true. You're an alpha," his dad said in awe. We both shook our heads and they were silent for a few minutes.

  "Come here," they both said beaming with pride as they embraced both of us. "We have a new daughter," his mom said with excitement. "I knew this would happen one day. Ever since that day on the playground when your father and I couldn't keep you two apart," he said to me and I laughed.

  "Thank you for accepting my son. I know it couldn't have been an easy decision for you to make," his mom said to me and I fought the urge to laugh.

  "I should be thanking him for putting up with me. You really have a wonderful son I can't imagine life without him," I told her truthfully.

  "Well I think this is cause for a celebration," my dad said everyone agreed.

  "I'll prepare everything for the ceremony once I have a word with Falcon," he said and left the room. It felt nice to have everything out in the open and I was glad things were finally going right. I had a mate who I loved who loved me back, Michael was gone and now we could finally be together. What once was a tragedy had turned into a fairy-tale and despite what the future held I knew we would be okay.

  An hour la
ter I was getting my hair done, taking a shower, shaving and listening to Kasey and my mom go on about the perfect dress. Chasin was about to be formally announced as my mate and I knew it would be a night I would never forget.

  "Alright you're ready honey," my mom said after putting the finishing touches on my makeup. "This is fantastic. I told you that two were destined for one another. I knew it and now you’re mates about to start you're lives together. You two make the cutest couple ever," Kasey squealed and I laughed at her excitement.

  When walked out back to the venue and I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. There were flowers everywhere, soft music playing and tables and chairs decorated to perfection. I was taking it all in as people started to gather around. I went and took my seat just as my Dad took the stage.

  "As you all know this is a very special occasion. My daughter Lindsey has found her mate." The crowd cheered as I made my way to the stage. It wasn't long before Chasin joined us. He looked breathtaking in his tailored suit and I had to resist the urge to pant like the animal I was.

  "Lindsey dear I'll allow you to do the honors of introducing him," he said stepping aside.

  "Hi everyone. I really am lost for words when it comes to such an amazing person. I couldn't have chosen a better mate. He's loyal, kind hearted, brave, trustworthy, and one of the strongest people I know. I'm honored to present him and have him stand at my side. Please allow me to introduce my mate and the love of my life, Chasin Waters."

  The crowd erupted with applause and my heart nearly burst with pride. "Wow. Thank you all. Never in a million years would I have imagined I’d be standing here. I was just an omega with a huge crush on an alpha female and could only dream of being with her one day."

  I heard awes from around the room and I felt the heat rise to my cheeks. "Nevertheless here I am today, taking on a roll I didn't think I was destined to play, and I couldn't be more grateful. I promise each and everyone one of you that I will be the best leader I can be. As we move forward I will never forget who I once was. I vow to uphold the integrity of this pack and make sure that everyone is treated with the respect they deserve. We are only as strong as our weakest member and I know what it feels like to be one of those members. You all have accepted me and put your faith in me and for that I will protect and serve you the best that I can. I have no doubt that we can and accomplish great things so I encourage you all to look forward to those great things as we embark on this journey together."
