Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? (The Big Bad Wolf Trilogy Book 1) Page 26

by Janie Marie

“I already kissed you. You taste good.”

She chuckled, putting her toothpaste on her toothbrush while she looked around for a spare. She knew she’d chucked one of those dentist’s bags around here somewhere. While she searched for it, Logan took the initiative to warm the water up before she watched him approach her in the mirror. They kept their eyes locked as he wrapped his arms around her waist and dipped his head to kiss the side of her neck.

“I found a spare toothbrush,” she mumbled, holding it out for him.

  “Do I have bad breath?”

“Yes,” she said, lying flat out to his face. It was unfair how perfect he was, and all the more reason to show him she could be perfect too.

He pouted but let go and opened his toothbrush. “You’re a mood killer, Hood.”

She smiled as he started brushing his teeth, giving her time to rinse her mouth and move away from the sink so he’d have room. She had no intention of killing the mood. After making sure the water was warm, she walked to where he could see her reflection next to his. After receiving a wink from him as he brushed away, she started pulling her shirt up over her head.

His brushing ceased during those few moments she was stuck under her shirt, then when she finally looked up, she was blessed with his full attention.

“I don’t want you to think of another woman, Logan.” She didn’t look away from his reflection.

He didn’t say anything. His eyes kept darting between hers and her body.

Kylie reached for her panties, still watching his face in the mirror. “I want to be the only woman you think of—the only one to bring you pleasure.” She pushed her panties down to her ankles before kicking them away. When she looked at him, his toothbrush was barely hanging from his mouth. “If you’re in pain, and I’m not with you, you think of me—of what you see right now.” She had no idea how she managed to make her voice sound so smooth, seductive, but she knew she was returning the mood he’d clearly wanted her in. “Can you remember this, Logan?”

  “Yes, baby.”

“Will you need another woman to satisfy you, even if we can’t be together?”

  He shook his head.

  “Will you wait for me?”

  He nodded.

“And when I’m not able to touch you, will you think of me when you have to touch yourself?”

Logan leaned forward and rinsed his mouth out fast before walking to her, not even pausing before he lowered his mouth to hers. One hand was in her hair while the other pulled her against him.

She didn’t notice how quickly he pulled his briefs off, or when he managed to pull them both under the water. All she had in her mind was his lips, his tongue—his strong arms holding her against his perfect body. And just for a moment, a tiny escape from reality, she lost all connection to the world around her and began to become one with Logan.

  “Aah!”

He had her lifted, pressed against the shower wall. Her eyes were wide as her mouth opened. She panted as only the tip of his dick started to press inside her. She wanted it. He was there, and he felt amazing.

He growled, and she tried to pull him in.

He still wasn’t inside enough—it was only the tip. She wanted him deeper, and she finally began to feel her warmth stretch around him.

  “Fuck!”

  Then he wasn’t there.

  “What?” she whispered, confused.

He set her on her feet and pushed her against the wall, silencing her with his fierce expression when she looked up at his face.

“We can’t, Hood.” He grabbed a hold of his cock and started stroking himself. “This is all I ever want to see.” He reached for her hand with his free one, the other still busy sliding up and down his shaft in steady strokes.

She had never been more turned on, and that was saying something, considering he had been able to take her to ecstasy and back several times now.

Kylie squeezed her wet legs together to try to relieve the ache between them, moaning as he groaned and kissed the inside of her wrist. She could still feel him. Just that teasing caress he had given, and she knew it wouldn’t leave until he was completely inside her.

The squelching sound of his hand mixed with their heavy breathing bounced of the tile wall.

  “Touch yourself, baby.”

She barely noticed that he had lowered her hand and was guiding it between her legs. He stepped closer, the tip of his throbbing dick brushing across her belly. All this occurred as he kept his strokes firm and steady.

“I don’t know how,” she said, tilting her head up so he could kiss her.

Within seconds, she was moaning into his mouth because he began rubbing circles with his fingers before sliding one inside her.

“Like this,” he said, grunting as he pleased them both. “You try it. I want to watch you.”

She nodded, too consumed by everything she was feeling. Her chest arched into his palm. She could hardly tell that it was her hand between her legs now. He pressed one of his thighs against her hand to give her even more friction to rub herself against.

Kissing her, he promised she was all he wanted. “Wait for me, baby.” He grunted, jerking himself faster.

“Harder, Logan,” she said, her breath almost gone as she watched him follow her order. He was so beautiful—and damn, she was ready to ask him to take her.

“Ah, fuck.” He grabbed her head, his fingers tangling in her hair and tugging. “Come.”

  Twenty-One

  I AM TRUTH

Kevin was cooking. Kylie didn’t even know he could cook.

“What are you doing?” she asked, staring at his back while he stood there pushing a spatula around a skillet filled with scrambled eggs.

He turned his head, frowning but not stopping his task. “I’m cooking breakfast. I know Lor says you don’t like the cook’s food, and she isn’t here to make it for you.”

She continued staring at him, unsure of what to say as she wished she was back with Logan. He had snuck out ten minutes ago to go get his car, promising to be there as soon as he could to take her to school. But what she wasn’t expecting to find when she came down to wait for him was her stepfather acting like a stay-at-home dad.

“Sit down.” He nodded toward the stool by the kitchen island. “I want to talk to you before I take you to school.”

“Logan’s coming to pick me up.”

He switched the burner off and turned with the skillet in hand. “I’m taking you.”

She shook her head. “He’ll be here any minute. I want him to take me.”

“We talked about this last night, Kylie. You will not see him. He’s turning you into a delinquent.”

“A delinquent?” She let out a sharp laugh as she took a step back. “I can’t believe you. I get bullied, and I’m the delinquent?” She shook her head again. “Logan cares about me. He’s the best thing to ever happen to me. He’s the one who tries to take care of me after I’ve been left all by myself. Even his friends, or whoever they are, are better people than Maura and Lorelei. They didn’t have to help me, but they stepped up when those mean whores—”

“Enough!” He slammed his hand on the counter. “I’ve had enough of you talking back to me like this. You’ve changed so much, and you can’t even see it. Your looks, your smart mouth, and I don’t doubt he’s already trying to have sex with you.”

She screwed her face up in disgust. “I have changed, but it’s in the best way. And don’t talk to me about what I do in my relationship. I’m almost eighteen. You haven’t even been here for me anyway. Don’t you dare tell me to stay away from the first man who has.”

  “I’m trying now,” he whispered.

She stared at him in disbelief.

“Please, Kylie.” He braced himself against the counter. “I’m just trying to help. You don’t know Logan. He’s dangerous, and you have no idea about the families he’s close to. I’d hoped they were only rumors, but last night I realized the girl involved in the fight ye
sterday is the same girl who—well, I’d rather not say. Just trust me—it’s best to end things with him before you get hurt.”

She was dying to know what he was about to say regarding Janie, but she was too angry that Kevin was trying to take Logan from her. “I’ll only hurt if you make him leave me. And he won’t let you.”

Kevin sighed and shook his head. “You don’t even know him. You met a little over a week ago. You’re being a foolish child because he’s the first boy to take an interest in you.”

His words hurt, but she was still too fired up to stop. “But he’s already healing the wounds I’ve had for years.”

  The doorbell rang.

“He’s here,” she said, looking over her shoulder. “I’ll eat with him.”

“Stop.” The furious spark in his eyes made her halt. “Stay put.”

She stayed still and watched him walk away to answer the door. She kept quiet and listened to him telling Logan that she wasn’t going to school today. Her heart raced so fast she felt almost dizzy, but fire consumed her when Kevin started to tell Logan they were no longer allowed to see each other.

“No,” she yelled, running to the door.

Logan looked furious, and she knew he was seconds away from throwing a punch.

“Don’t you dare pull this shit.” She ducked Kevin’s arm when he reached out to keep her back and ran right to Logan’s side, where she was instantly engulfed in a hug.

“Get your hands off her,” Kevin snapped.

Logan moved quickly, carefully shoving her behind him before he had his hand wrapped around Kevin’s throat. And before she could scream, he had Kevin pinned against the nearest wall.

“Logan.” She ran up behind them.

He didn’t even look at her. “Stay back, Hood.”

Kylie froze upon hearing his dark tone.

Kevin wasn’t afraid. He was merely staying still, waiting.

“I’m not hurting him,” Logan said, his voice low and raw.

“Let me go,” Kevin seethed. “I’ll call the police, you worthless punk. I’ll keep you from ever fighting again.”

“And I’ll call the police on you,” Logan said, inching his face closer. “You’re not the only rich bastard with connections, Blackwood.”

Kevin laughed. “What could you possibly say about me, kid? I didn’t put it together at first, but I know now exactly who you consort with.”

Logan smiled evilly. “Then you know not to fuck with me, and you know I’m not going to let this abuse you’ve turned a blind eye to continue.”

The dark look in Kevin’s eyes dimmed. “What are you talking about?”

“Logan,” she whispered, her heart thundering. She almost felt like she might pass out. What did Kevin know about Logan? And what was Logan doing?

“Relax, Hood.” Logan still didn’t look at her. He kept staring at Kevin, scrutinizing him. “Don’t try my patience—I have almost none. You’ve seen her limp. You’ve seen her flinch. You’ve ignored her hiding the bruises and cuts. And she runs for safety into those damned woods because the fucking wolves are right here.”

Kevin stared at him, darting his eyes to Kylie, then back to Logan. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Yes, you do,” Logan yelled, slamming Kevin back hard, “and it makes you just as guilty as them. You don’t have to be the one beating her with a fucking baseball bat to be responsible for the wounds she’s received.” He made a sort of growling sound before shoving Kevin away and pulling her under his arm. “Stay the fuck away from her. She’s not coming home tonight—she’ll be staying with a friend of mine until she decides whether or not she wants to be in this house. And don’t you dare try to come after her. I already have someone looking into shit, and they’re more powerful than you.”

Logan picked up the backpack she’d dropped and grabbed her hand to pull her out the door.

“Kylie,” Kevin whispered, making them stop at the steps. “I swear I don’t know what he’s talking about. Please stay. Let’s talk about whatever it is he’s insinuating.”

Kylie shook her head. She was furious Logan was going behind her back—he wasn’t supposed to tell anyone—but she was more enraged with Kevin trying to stop her from seeing Logan. So she looked at him and said softly, “Kevin, deep down, I think you’ve always known what they’ve done to me.”

He started to shake his head.

“Don’t,” she snapped, her panic wrapping her up. There was no way she could stay here now. “I’m going with him, and I’m not coming back. You can call Logan if you want to get in touch with me. I know they’re coming home today, and I’m not going to sit here anymore while they try to kill me. Let me go, or I will make sure your name is ruined in this town. And don’t threaten Logan again.”

When Kevin stayed quiet, Logan kissed the top of her head and pulled her to his car.

Sighing, Kylie put her binder in her backpack and closed her locker.

“Kylie.” Trevor jogged over to her. “Hey, you need a ride?”

“No,” she said, walking around him. He was drawing so much more attention to her than she already had, and when she looked down at her red hoodie, she contemplated pulling her hood up again.

“I want to talk to you though.”

She sighed and stopped walking. He took the chance to move closer, so they were just a few feet apart.

“What do you want to tell me?” she asked. “I don’t really have a lot of time. I’m supposed to meet my ride outside.” She wasn’t lying. Logan had called her at lunch and said he would be coming to pick her up.

He frowned, scanning her appearance. “Who’s giving you a ride?”

“Logan, of course.” It made her feel so giddy to say that.

Trevor sighed, stepping even closer. “He’s using you. I don’t know why he’s so into this play with you, but he’s tricking you. And you can get in trouble for having sex.”

She scoffed and took a step back. “He’s not playing anything. And we’re not your business.”

“I’m just trying to help,” Trevor said with a sad, guilty look in his eyes. “I introduced you to him—put you on his radar. Now he’s destroying you.”

“Wow.” She shook her head and walked away.

“He has sex with girls as bets,” he rushed out before she could pass him. “Ask his friends. Well, the guys at his gym. No one is really friends with him.”

She looked at him but didn’t know how to feel.

“Did he tell you he broke his manager’s arm?” he asked softly. “You were a bet, Kylie. Chris saved you. Logan lost it and attacked him.”

“You’re lying.” Her heart thundered in her chest. It couldn’t be true. “Chris was just trying to get me to leave.”

“He was trying to keep you from getting hurt. I promise you, as soon as you guys have sex, because I know now that must be the case, he’ll dump you. And just like Chris said, another girl will be in his bed before you know it.” He touched her shoulder, bending to stare into her eyes. “He’s probably hopeful he’ll get Janie back. He keeps a picture of her in his dresser—probably to jack off. I saw he had the lotion she used to like. He always talked about how she smelled like raspberries.”

  Her heart cracked. “No.”

“And what about you, Grimm?” Ryder Godson walked out of the dark hallway. “What sort of twisted shit do you engage in?”

Trevor tensed and, surprising her, fired back, “Fuck off, Godson.”

A deadly smirk lifted Ryder’s lips. “Isn’t that your job, pretty boy? And I know damn well he never told you how she smells or tastes, so enlighten me on how you know what lotion she uses.”

Kylie looked between the two of them, sort of happy to see the wicked gleam in the bad boy’s eyes as he glared at Trevor. If Ryder was denying this, then there was hope. No way would Ryder allow Logan to have anything of Janie’s.

Trevor didn’t back down. “Are you gonna tell her the truth about them?”

  Ryd
er shrugged a shoulder. “I don’t give a fuck what she thinks about them. Grimm can pine after my baby all he wants. He’s not getting her back.”

Kylie whimpered, darting her eyes between them.

Ryder’s gaze slid over to her before settling on Trevor again. “And he gave Janie their pictures, so stop starting shit between them.”

Trevor’s nostrils flared and his jaw clenched as he spoke through gritted teeth. “I’m warning her. He wouldn’t have a picture of her naked in a drawer full of lingerie this morning if he was over her. He’s using Kylie, and I won’t let it happen.”

“Maybe he kept a picture so we have more reason to fight.” Ryder chuckled, tilting his head. “But it’s not your business what he and Janie had together. Now get the fuck out of my sight. I’ll let you live in fear for a few days just because you’ve seen her naked.”

Trevor’s eyes flashed as he appeared to debate saying something.

“Run along.” Ryder made a shooing gesture. “I’m not in the mood to deal with you anymore today.”

Trevor glared at him but walked away without looking back at her.

“Come on, Blondie,” Ryder ordered her.

  She didn’t move.

“Check your phone,” he said, annoyed.

After sliding her finger across the screen, she realized she did indeed have a text from Logan.

Logan Stolemypanties Grimm: I’m in a meeting with some guys about a fighting contract right now. Ryder will bring you here.

“Ready?” Ryder asked, glancing at his own phone. “Piece of shit.”

“I’m sorry.” She didn’t know what she did to piss him off so much.

“Not you, dumbass.” He lifted his gaze from his phone. “Your boyfriend is gonna get his ass beat if he still has a picture of her.”

Her eyes watered as she shook her head. “Does he really have it just to fight you? And it’s my lotion.”

He stared at her. “Trevor is just trying to get you to hate Janie like everyone else already does. If there is a picture, I’ll take care of it.” He turned, walking away. “Hurry the fuck up.”
