“I don’t want to be crazy all of the time,” she protested. “But I would like to be able to pull some crazy out of my hat when the time is right.”

“You want a crazy hat you can put on every now and then?”

Kaye laughed. “Well, yes. It sounds dumb, but whatever.”

“You’re saying you need to let loose,” I stated.

Kaye stared into my eyes and bit her bottom lip. She stepped to stand in front of me and put her hand on my chest. “Yes.”

  Kaye

I wasn’t in control of my body.

  Something had shifted between us.

The man I loved before was standing in front of me. He hadn’t gone anywhere.

  He was here.

“Babe, you better think before you move any closer to me,” he warned.

I licked my lips. “I’m thinking,” I whispered. I was, but I wasn’t thinking about anything other than the moment. “I’m thinking that I want to feel your lips on mine, and your hands on my body.”

Jax growled and clenched his teeth. “Babe.”

  “Yes?” I whispered.

“I haven’t been with a woman for over five years. You need to seriously think hard about what it is you are asking for,” he warned.

“Well, I’m thinking that it’s been more than five years since I’ve been with a man.” Five years and seventy-two days. A long damn time.

“You’re the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on, Kaye. You’re telling me not one man was enough to catch your attention?”

I shrugged. “Some caught my eye, but they never held my attention for very long.”

After Jax, I had tried dating, but I never met a guy who could give me anything more than a meal and lame conversation. After a handful of crappy dates, I had given up.

“You’ve got about ten seconds to push me away, or I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

My stomach fluttered, and I felt my cheeks heat. “Ten, nine, eight,” I counted.

“You don’t know what you’re asking for, Kaye,” he warned again.

“Seven, six, five, four,” I continued. “Maybe you don’t know what you’re asking for, either.” I laid my hands on his waist and closed the distance between our bodies. I wanted Jax. I couldn’t lie to myself anymore.

Was he the same man he was five years ago? No, but I wasn’t the same woman I was back then, either. We both had made mistakes and had grown by leaps and bounds.

I should have tried to talk to Jax after he was arrested. Found out why he did what he did. I hadn’t. All Jax had gotten from me was pure silence. At the time, I thought that was the only option I had so I didn’t get into trouble. Of course, the police department had been interested in the fact that Jax and I were involved, but they swiftly found out that I had no idea about the things he was doing. I didn’t talk at all to Jax because I didn’t want to give them even a small hint that I accepted or approved what Jax did.

I didn’t now, either, but I understood it.

“You got a couple more numbers to count,” Jax whispered.

“Where did I stop?” I laughed.

  “Three, two, one,” Jax growled.

“Go,” I gasped. My lips connected with his, and I catapulted back in time. Jax’s kisses were my favorite thing in the world. They were rough, but gentle. Hard, but soft. Demanding, yet caring.

  They were fucking amazing.

His hands griped my waist, and I wound my arms around his neck. I reached up on my tiptoes to get closer to him, and his hands slipped down my legs and over my ass. He claimed me with his kiss, and he lifted me into his arms.

I opened my legs and clung to him like ivy on a tree.

Jax’s strong arms held me like I was a feather, and he turned. He pressed my back to the tree and buried his face in my neck. His lips rained kisses all over my skin, and his hands lifted the hem of my shirt.

“I never forgot your taste, Kaye,” he growled against my skin. “I fucking dreamed about it.”

My body hummed at his words, and I pressed it right against him. The stiffness of his dick pushed against my core, and the hardness of his body enveloped me.

“I dreamed about you all the time,” I confessed on a gasp. “You might have been gone for five years, but I never forgot about you, Jax.” I might have hated him for a while, but that didn’t stop me from craving his touch and kisses.

“Touch yourself while you thought about me?” he asked.

I nodded and let out a whimper.

“Took out your toys and imagined it was me?” His hand slid to my core, and his lips claimed mine.

He pressed a hard, hungry kiss to my lips.

I fully surrendered and sunk completely into him.

I couldn’t tell you how many batteries I had gone through in five years keeping my toys going with thoughts of Jax urging me on.

He ripped his lips from my and panted heavily. “I’m gonna watch you, babe. I want to see what you did while I was gone.”

I whimpered and bit my bottom lip. “Later,” I whispered. Right now, I wanted to feel Jax touch and make me feel good, not some toy. I had the real thing right in front of me, and I wasn’t going to let him go. Not yet. “Take me home, Jax. We have some catching up to do.”

  Chapter Thirteen

  Back to mine…

  Brick

I didn’t know where to touch her first.

Kay was laid out on her bed like a feast for a starving man.

I had waited for this for five years, and in that entire time, I never thought this would happen.

Kaye Crew wanted me again, and I wasn’t about to miss my chance.

“Are you just gonna stare at me all night?” she giggled. She raised her arms over her head and coyly smiled.

“I’m just wondering if this is all a dream and I’m going to wake up any second.” I gulped and laid my hand on her leg. “I don’t want you to go anywhere.”

She held out her hand to me. “I’m right here, Jax. I’m not going to go anywhere.”

I grabbed her hand, and she pulled me down on top of her. Caging her in with my arms, I pressed a kiss to her lips. “Hi.”

She giggled and wrapped her arm around my neck. “Hello.”

This felt so right, but I was also fucking terrified that I was going to fuck it up. I didn’t want to ever lose Kaye again, but I wasn’t even sure that she was mine again.

Would this be us now? Would Kaye and I fall right back into what we were? Or was this one night and in the morning, everything would fall apart?

I couldn’t think about that right now. Right now, I needed to live in the moment.

My hand glided between us and cupped her pussy. “Are you wet for me, babe?”

Kaye bit her lip and whimpered at my touch.

I parted the lips of her pussy and felt her sweet wetness.

  “Oh, God,” she whispered.

I sealed my lips to hers, and her tongue darted into my mouth. She flexed her hips up to my touch and clenched her hands into the sheets.

My fingers caressed her and flicked her clit.

“Jax,” she gasped. “Don’t stop,” she pleaded.

A fucking freight train in a hurricane couldn’t stop me. “First, you’re going to come on my fingers, and then, you’re going to come around my dick, babe.”

Her body tensed at my words, and her hips lifted off the bed.

  “Keep going,” she urged.

She clenched around my fingers, and a strangled moan ripped from her lips.

I caressed her while she came down from her orgasm, and her eyes lit with desire. “I need your dick,” she whispered. “Please, Jax. I can’t wait another second.”

Removing my hand, I kneeled between her legs. She lifted her hips, and I guided my dick into the entrance of her sweet pussy.

A groan rumbled through my lips as I slowly sank inside her, and she clenched around me. “You’re like a fucking vise around me, Kaye.” />
She laid her hands on my chest and dropped her head back on the pillow. Her tongue darted out across her lips, and she struggled to speak. “I thought,” she gasped. “I thought I had…”

“You thought what?” I growled. I didn’t know what she was trying to tell me. She thought this would be better? She thought we should stop?

“I thought the toy I bought was the same size as you, but I was way off.” She closed her eyes and moaned. “You are way bigger.”

Wanna know how to over-inflate a guy ego? Tell him his dick is bigger than any toy you’ve ever used.

My hips were flush to Kaye’s, and I was fully seated inside her. “You’ll have to show me this toy later.”

She delved her fingers into my hair and pulled her lips to mine. “Much later.”

You know when you imagine and dream about something, and then you finally get it only to be disappointed and let down?

That was not at all what was going on.

I melted perfectly into Kaye, and we became one. I couldn’t tell where my body ended, hers began.

Heaven on Earth right in Kaye’s bed.

Which each thrust, her moans and whimpers surrounded me.

“Say my name,” I demanded. I needed her to know that I was here, and I wasn’t going to leave. I would have to die and be sent to the depths of Hell to ever leave Kaye again.

  “Jax,” she gasped. “Jax.”

The sound of my name falling from her lips spurred me on, and my balls began to tighten.

“You gotta come, babe.” I slipped a hand between us and pressed a finger against her clit.

“Oh, God,” she gasped. “That’s too much, Jax. Too much.” Her words didn’t match her actions. Her hand pressed against mine, and she refused to let me move it. “Don’t stop.”

Her eyes slammed shut, and if I hadn’t been lying on top of her, I was pretty sure she would have levitated right off the bed.

I slammed inside her one last time and my orgasm slammed into me. Five years I had waited for this.

  Five fucking years.

I collapsed on top of Kaye and gathered her in my arms before I rolled over onto my back and tried to catch my breath.

“I…I don’t…” Kaye took a deep breath. “I don’t remember at all it being that amazing.”

I chuckled and reached over to turn off the bedside lamp. “I don’t know if I should be offended or not.”

She patted me on the chest. “Be proud. For the past five years, I couldn’t sleep with another man because they weren’t you. You just surpassed yourself, Jax. You’re a gazillion times better than the Jax five years ago.”

“A gazillion, huh?” I laughed. “I guess I can accept that.”

“Sleep for a bit, and then it’s round two with that toy you thought was my size.”

“What?” Kaye gasped. “We are not doing that,” she insisted.

“Then you should have kept your mouth shut about using toys while I was gone.”

She slapped my chest. “You would have thought I was a complete liar if I would have told you that I didn’t do anything.”

“True.” I knew that Kaye liked to use her toys, and I didn’t think that would change while I was gone. “Sleep, and I’ll wake you up.”

Kaye smothered a yawn with the back of her hand. “Don’t you have to get back to the clubhouse?”

Technically, I needed to, but I wasn’t going anywhere. “One night will be fine.”

Kaye tipped her head back and looked me in the eye. “Jax, don’t go back to prison because of me.”

I brushed her hair out of her face. “I’m not going anywhere, babe. Promise.”

Her eyes were clouded with worry, but she nodded. “Make sure you keep that promise, Jax.”

  “Promise on my life, Kaye.”

If you would have told me five hours ago that I was going to spend the night in Kaye’s bed, I would have called you crazy.

Now here I was lying with her naked, plush body against mine while she drifted off to sleep.

Kaye was back in my arms, and nothing was going to take her away—except I was worried the light of a new day was going to bring all the flaws and imperfections to the surface.

  For tonight, Kaye was mine.

  Chapter Fourteen

  Morning regret?

  Kaye

  “Hello?”

I cracked open an eye and looked up at my bedroom ceiling.

  “I’m fine.”

I turned my head and saw Jax sitting on the edge of the bed with his phone to his ear.

  “I’m out.”

Who was he talking to? I blindly reached for my phone and saw that it was half past seven. I didn’t know that bikers woke before ten.

  “You’re sure?”

I dropped my phone on the bed next to me and rolled closer to Jax so I could trail my fingers down his bare back over the large tattoo of a skull. “Everything okay?” I whispered.

Jax glanced over his shoulder at me and winked.

Whoa, there went any idea of either of us getting out of this bed before noon. I was going to have to tie Jax to my bedframe and never let him go if he winked at me again.

Last night had been surprising, but completely perfect.

Having Jax back in my life was like the past five years hadn’t happened.

“I’m there.” Jax ended the call and tossed his phone on the nightstand.

“There?” I asked softly. Maybe my plans of not leaving the bed until noon weren’t going to happen.

“I have to get back to the clubhouse, babe. I got wind that my PO is going to do a surprise check on me in a little bit.”

My heart dropped. “Oh, my God, Jax. You shouldn’t have stayed the night.” I swear to all things holy that if Jax went back to prison because he violated parole to stay the night with me, I would lose my ever-loving mind.

He fell back on the bed and pressed a kiss to my lips. “I wouldn’t change one damn thing about the last ten hours, Kaye. Not one fucking thing.”

“You just violated your parole, Jax.” I knew the laws. I understood how things worked. Jax had curfews, and if he ignored those curfews, they could toss him back into prison without so much as a backward glance.

  “I’ll be fine, Kaye.”

“How can you know that? Your PO could be in a shit mood today and take it out on you.” I had heard horror stories about POs who were huge pricks and made their parolee’s lives hell.

“My PO is cool as shit, Kaye.”

I didn’t believe a word he was saying. How could he swear it was going to be fine when he didn’t know it? “Who did you get wind from that your PO is coming through?”

A huge smile spread across Jax’s face. “My PO.”

I blinked twice and tipped my head to the side. “Uh, what?”

“That was my PO on the phone, Kaye,” he explained.

“But you told me he was coming through for a surprise visit.”

Jax chuckled. “It’ll be in the books as a surprise check, but he gave me a heads up.”

I was speechless. I had never heard of a PO who acted like that.

How the hell was Jax’s PO going to give him a heads up that he was headed over for a surprise check? “You have no idea how conflicted I am right now.”

Part of me was relieved that Jax had such a laidback PO, but another part of me was a little pissed that Jax’s PO was not following the rules.

Jax pressed a kiss to my forehead. “That’s because you’re good at heart, babe, and you expect everyone to follow the rules and fall in line.”

Well, yeah. That was sort of my deal. I was an officer of the law.

“I’m not coming with you,” I blurted. If I went with Jax and met his PO, that would make me obligated to report him to his superiors. If I didn’t know who Jax’s PO was, I couldn’t go about reporting him. That was how I was going to deal with this situation.

Loved that he was being so cool with Jax, but hated he was totally
bending the rules.

I was sure it wouldn’t be the first time I was going to have to turn a blind eye to the things going on with Jax and the club. “I’ll just chalk this up to you helping me catch the Devil’s Rebels because if you were to go back to jail, then I couldn’t keep following the drug trail.”

  “Don’t do that, Kaye.”

  “Do what?” I asked.

“Sacrifice who you are for me. I know how important your job is to you. If this bothers you, I’ll follow my parole to a T.”

I shrugged. “It’s not like you’re going to kill someone and I’m going to act like I don’t know.” I pointed a finger into his chest. “Though I will say, from now on, you will not be messing with your parole. Last night was your one pass you get from me.”

It didn’t matter how cool Jax’s PO was; I knew the guy would have a breaking point on the things he would let slide. I didn’t want Jax to get close to ever crossing that line.

“Does that mean you’re going to stay the night in my bed?”

  “We’ll see,” I whispered.

Jax brushed my hair from my face. “Kaye,” he said softly. “Are you sure about me? About us? I know the department was fine with us dating before, but I’m a felon now, babe. I gotta think that isn’t really going to sit well with your chief.”

  It wouldn’t.

Hell, I wasn’t even completely sure how it was sitting with me.

I had been on such a straight and narrow path with the department, and now, I was possibly risking it all to be with Jax.

Was it against the law to be a cop and date Jax? No.

Would it more than likely be frowned upon, and possibly make my job harder? Yes. One hundred times yes. I didn’t even want to think about how if we did get a case against the Devil’s Rebels the defense could tear apart any evidence because I was sleeping with an informant.

I traced my finger over the dark swirls of ink on Jax’s chest. “There isn’t anywhere in the handbook that says you and I can’t date.” Though, there was while he was an informant. “It’s not like the chief and the department don’t know that you and I dated before your arrest.” But as far as they were concerned, Jax and I were completely done. We were for five years, but now, we were far from done.
