  Seamus nods.

“You know,” he says slowly, “It’s not like we have to fight over her.”

I turn to look at him.

“Rowan and Keenan make it work,” he adds, “Why couldn’t we?”

A silence falls over us like a physical weight.

I mean, I had thought about trying to share a woman, the way our cousins do. They seem blissfully happy in their little throuple, so maybe there’s something to it. Some primitive part of me wants to say hell no, and claim her for myself, but I can’t say I like the idea of fighting with my brothers over her.

And I’m not opposed. If that’s what it takes to get Lucy, I’m on board. Of course, all of this is complete speculation. For all we know, she’ll call us perverts and slam the door in our face if we suggest it.

Considering she was just the maid of honor in her best friend’s polyamorous commitment ceremony thing, I don’t necessarily think that would be the case, but anything is possible. And just because she supports her friend doesn’t mean she wants to jump into the lifestyle herself.

But the only way to find out is to talk to her.

If the others really want to do this.

I snap out of my own thoughts and look from Seamus to Barry. Seamus’ face is tinged with hope, clearly wanting us to agree to this, and I’m not sure if it’s because he really wants this himself, or if he’s just suggesting it so he can keep the peace while getting his own piece of Lucy.

Barry, on the other hand, looks mildly annoyed, but thoughtful. Clearly he’s giving the idea a more serious weigh-through than either me or Seamus.

We had sort of talked about possibly trying this some day, sharing a girl between us, but it was always sort of an abstract possibility. It feels like a different conversation now that there’s a real woman attached to it.

At my core, I don’t think I’m a jealous man. I’ve never had enough interest in someone to feel much of anything, let alone possessive, though. Sure, everyone has those little twinges of the stuff, but that’s just human.

But maybe I just haven’t been put in a position that reared any real jealousy to life.

So I can’t say for sure that this will work, even if Lucy does decide she wants all of us. But the only way to know is to try.

“Okay,” Barry says finally, “If she’s interested, we can give it a try.”

“What if she isn’t, though?” I ask, “What then? What if she decides she just wants one of us?”

  Barry sighs.

“Then whoever’s left just has to accept that.”

The words make me grimace. I can’t imagine being in that scenario. Watching one of my brothers with the woman I want? Now that would bring out the jealousy in me.

“Why don’t we go over there and talk to her? Even if we don’t say anything outright, maybe we can get an idea of where she might stand,” Seamus suggests.

“We should take something over,” Barry says, “Bake a pie or something.”

I try not to laugh at his idea. That was actually how our cousins had met Delia, when she’d brought them a pie to welcome them to their new home, and I can’t help but wonder if that’s where the idea came from.

“Sweeten things up before the sales pitch?” Seamus teases.

  Barry smiles a little. “Yeah.”

And so the three of us take a little time to make some pie to take over to attempt to work our magic on Lucy.

It takes longer than my pride will ever let me admit, but we cobble something together that actually seems edible, so together, my brothers and I traipse over to Lucy’s.

When we knock on the door, a chorus of barking dogs erupts from within, making me wince.

“Get back, guys, go on, sit, no, down girl,” we hear a stream of commands being issued and slowly getting louder as Lucy apparently made her way closer to the door.

Finally, we hear the creak of the doorknob and it opens. Both of the puppies from yesterday dart out and jump up to greet us, plus a larger dog that looks like it might be a relative. I carefully raise the pie out of their furry reach, smiling.

“Sorry, guys,” Lucy says, trying to corral the largest one as Seamus kneels down to try and corral the puppies, “I would have put them out in the back if I knew you were comin’ by.”

“Oh, no,” Seamus drawls sarcastically, “We got jumped on by excited puppies and then got to pet them, what a dreadful experience.”

  She smiles.

“Come on in, guys,” she says, opening the door wider.

When we step inside, I’m a little surprised to see that the three rebels who escaped were just a couple of her fuzzy, barking army. And once we’ve crossed the threshold into the house, whatever dam Lucy’s command may have put up is shattered as the excited canine mob swarms us.

Lucy successfully sweeps the escapees into the house and quickly shuts the door behind her, containing the chaos. I raise the pie a bit higher, dodging curious noses.

“We brought you something,” I say, offering it to her.

  She takes it, giggling.

“Why don’t we go put this in the kitchen?”

We follow her through the house into her kitchen, where she sets the pie down and leans against the counter to face us.

“So, what brings y’all by...with goodies?”

“Well, Barry cobbled together an offer for your land, and we wanted to kind of discuss it with you before we take things further,” I say, a little extra edge creeping into my voice with the last five words.

She swallows, hard, and I know she’s caught the double entendre. She lets out a shaky breath and smiles.

“Sounds great. Why don’t we cut into that pie of yours while we talk it over? I’ve got some vanilla ice cream to go with it,” she shoos the dogs out of the kitchen and slides the door closed.

I’d rather dive into your pie and make you cream, I think to myself.

She makes the three of us sit down at her kitchen table while she plates up slices for us, adding a scoop of ice cream to each one. When she’s passed out plates and settled into a seat, Barry slides his folder across the table to her. She flips it open and the two of them launch into a conversation about the plan.

I try to pay attention, but I’m absorbed in watching her lush lips move. When she finally pauses in the discussion and takes a bite of the pie and ice cream, a tickle of melting vanilla slips down past the corner of her mouth, and the sight sends a rush of blood to my dick.

I can’t control myself, my hand flits out and I use my finger to wipe the cream from her face. Her breath catches and the expression on her face reminds me of a deer in headlights. And when I hold her gaze and lick my finger clean, her cheeks flush and her breath quickens.

But I sit back in my chair, tucking a smug smirk away, and let them continue talking.

Barry acts as if nothing has happened, despite the fact that Lucy is obviously flustered. She keeps stealing glances at me, and the way she squirms in her seat makes me wonder just how drenched those panties of hers must be.

That smug smirk escapes and I give her a reprieve, tearing my gaze away from her and digging into my own slice of pie. I’m pretty pleased with how it came out, actually, it’s definitely more than edible.

When the four of us have finished our pie, Seamus clears the table.

“So, Lucy, we actually had another...proposal for you,” he says.

“Oh?” she tilts her head, looking at him.

To my surprise, he springs, like a panther on his prey, bending and kissing her fiercely.

She lets out a little squeak of surprise, but doesn’t pull away, those pretty blue eyes drifting closed.

He finally releases her and she blinks, looking dazed.

  “Um, I don’t- what was-?”

I silence her stammering by yanking her chair toward myself and taking her chin in my hand, leaning in and brushing my lips over hers.

Heat floods me and the fire pools in my groin, fueling my erection. I desperately want to gra
b her and throw her down on the table to fuck her, but I control myself, instead exploring the heat of her mouth with my tongue.

She lets out a little moan that tests that control, though, and I have to drag myself away from her kiss before I lose it. Her lips are red and swollen from the ferocity of Seamus’ and my onslaught. Barry gets to his feet and for a moment, I think we’ve pissed him off and he’s leaving.

But to my surprise, Barry pulls Lucy out of her seat and, grabbing her by the ass, he lifts her and plunks her onto the table with her legs on either side of his. She gazes up at him with a stunned, but ravenous expression, and when he kisses her, she’s ready this time, her limbs coiling around him as her fingers thread through his long hair.

His lips move down to her neck and bare shoulder and she whimpers, and when he grinds against her through their clothes, she lets out a soft cry.

But when his hand slips under the hem of her tank top, just brushing the skin on the small of her back, the skin-to-skin contact seems to snap her out of our spell. “Um, wait, wait,” she gasps, pulling away from Barry.

He steps back to give her space. “Sorry, too far?”

“Yes...no...I don’t know. I mean, um, what exactly is this proposal you’re talking about?” Lucy asks, her expression both frazzled and desperate.

“We want you, Lucy,” I tell her simply, “All three of us.”

“We think you’re a stunning woman, and we all want to spend more time with you,” Barry elaborates, shooting me a little glare.

She quirks up an eyebrow and a little smile unfolds across her face.

“Man, your family knows how to teach a man to share,” she jokes. “Between you and your cousins, y’all just really know how to play nice together.”

  Seamus laughs.

  “No kidding,” he admits.

“Something tells me you’ll play nice with us, too,” I murmur, making her smile fade as she bites her lower lip.

“Um, I…” she clears her throat, “I’m just, um, I’m not sure about this. I mean, I like you all, but I don’t- I haven’t been in a relationship since I was in high school, really, and I don’t know if I can handle all of this at once,” she stammers,

“And, I mean, there’s all of this,” she gestures at Barry’s sales plan, abandoned on the table. “Isn’t in unethical to sleep with a business partner or something?”

“Lucy,” Barry cups her cheek in his hand, his expression solemn, “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to, we won’t push you. All you have to do is say the word and we’ll drop the whole thing, but I hope you’ll at least consider it.”

I’m loath to admit it, but he’s saying the right thing. Much as I want to coerce Lucy, seduce her into giving into us, I feel something different here. I want to keep Lucy around, which is a new feeling, and to do that, I need to let her come to me.

But no matter what Barry says, I can’t guarantee that I won’t try and change her mind if she tries to walk away. I’m used to taking what’s mine.

But she nods at Barry’s words and softly says, “I would like a little time to think,” and it convinces me to be patient.

The way she responded to our kisses tells me that I won’t be waiting long.

Maybe she’s scared, but I know she wants this.

We’ll have her before we know it.

  Chapter Five

  Lucy

“Thanks for coming with me, Lu,” Delia tells me the next day, as I’m bouncing along in the passenger seat of her truck on our way into town, “I talked the boys into handling things for the day so you and I could have a little bit of a girl’s day.”

“You mean so you could have a break to rehydrate and buy more lube and condoms?” I taunt her.

  She smiles a shameless grin.

“It doesn’t hurt. Supplies are low.”

“Gross.” I stick my tongue out at her.

  She laughs.

  “You brought it up!”

It’s good to just hang out and laugh with my best for a little while, getting my whirling mind off of the O’Leary brothers.

I had barely slept, tossing and turning and sweating. All I could think about was those smoldering kisses, the touch of their hands turning my insides into molten, gooey need. And my dirty mind went wild, imagining a thousand different scenarios between the three of them and me.

And looking at Delia, glowing with happiness and relaxed on a level I’ve never seen from her, makes me think that maybe I could make it work for myself. While she’s always been better with people than I am, Del didn’t exactly have much of a social life before Rowan and Keenan came around. So seeing her making it work gives me a little hope.

But then again, it’s not like the O’Learys exactly asked me to be their girlfriend or anything. They just said they wanted to spend more time with me, and the meaning of that was clearly about spending some...naked time with me.

Not that that idea doesn’t appeal to me. I’d run through two sets of batteries in my vibrator last night thinking about it, but considering I’ve never had actual sex with a man before, am I really ambitious enough to start with three? And three that may or may not want a relationship with me?

I don’t know what to think. So the distraction of Delia grossing me out with talk about her sex life is a welcome one.

“Oh, I have to stop by Landry’s first,” Delia says, making a sudden right turn, “I need to pick up Keenan’s ring, Gina re-sized it for me.”

Gina Landry owns a local boutique jewelry shop, designing gorgeous custom jewelry along with her own artistic and unique creations.

We pull up to her shop and I follow Delia inside. While Delia goes to the counter to get her husband’s ring, I’m distracted by a new display and I wander off to go see.

Gina’s work is dazzling and intricate, and I can practically feel my wallet quivering in fear as I look over several of her new pieces.

But the looming specter of my credit card bill draws me away from the display in a hurry, and I join Delia in conversation with Gina. “So they really don’t get jealous of each other?” Gina is asking, “Because that just seems impossible. I can’t even imagine that.”

My mind flashes on the O’Learys, passing me around like a joint at a college party, comfortable in sharing me.

“Nope. We worked past that pretty early on,” Delia says, “Not that they don’t occasionally get a little bit competitive over my attention, but it’s nothing we can’t talk out.”

Can it really be that simple? I wonder.

  “Is it amazing?”

Gina asks with a dreamy sigh.

  Delia laughs.

“Yes,” she says, nodding firmly, “It’s perfect. It’s definitely unorthodox, but I can’t picture my life any other way now. I’ve never been this happy.”

“What’s it really like, though?” I ask her, “Doesn’t it just split you in two to try and spread your attention and your affection out like that?”

Delia ponders that for a minute.

“No, I wouldn’t say that. It’s more like a balancing act, making sure everyone’s needs are met. And I feel like it helps that they’re so close, too. That trust and the fact that they care about each other probably contributes immensely to the lack of jealousy.”

“Sounds like there’s still a lot of room for something to go south, though, with them being brothers. Not that it would in your case,” Gina adds quickly,

“But I mean, weren’t you afraid in the beginning that there’d be issues because they were brothers? I feel like that would make any jealousy that did exist amplified by the millions.”

“I mean, I guess that could happen,” Delia says, “I don’t claim to be an expert or anything. But in my case, I think it helped us work through things.”

  Gina smiles.

“You look so at peace,” she remarks.

  Delia nods.

“I am,” she says, “I never thought my life would turn out like this, but it’s perfect.”

&n
bsp; I can’t help but be a little envious. I love what I do, and for the most part, I’m happy with my life, but there’s definitely something missing.

“Is it different now that you three got married?” Gina wonders aloud.

“Not really, it just feels like the next step for us, you know?” Delia looks thoughtful. “I mean, don’t get me wrong; there’s something deeply satisfying about getting to call myself their wife, but it really hasn’t changed much.”

Gina passes her Keenan’s ring in a little box for safekeeping.

“You make it sound like paradise,” I tell Delia.

  Delia laughs.

“I mean, it’s not that hard to be worshipped by a pair of gorgeous Irishmen, I mean, have you seen them?” she asks as she flashes her phone screen at us, revealing a picture of her shirtless husbands grinning like idiots at her, “But it definitely does take some work to keep things running smoothly.”

“Well, with any luck, maybe this resort the O’Learys are working on with them will bring enough hot Irishmen to go around for the rest of us,” I joke.

“Resort?” Gina asks, and Delia and I explain the plan that the five Irishmen have been laying out.

Their plan was essentially sort of a working resort, for people to come and help out on a ranch, getting a taste of our Southern life here. They seem to think that they know a number of Irish businessmen looking for a change of pace who would enjoy taking a few weeks to do something simpler to give a sense of wholesome accomplishment.

I tell both of the women about the land I’m considering selling to help them build a bigger place and Delia’s face lights up.

“That’s awesome! Maybe you could even incorporate something with dog training or something, like a workshop?” she suggests.

“I hadn’t even thought of that,” I admit, “But it’s a cool idea.”

“Do you think they need any kind of investors?” Gina pipes up.

We both turn to look at her and she shrugs.

“Business has been good, I’ve been thinking about diversifying. Sounds like it might be good for tourism, and tourism gets fresh eyes and sells my jewelry!” she says brightly.
