"Is that why...?" my eyes unconsciously went to the recliner with the other girl.
Diego frowned. "I didn't create this method. But the other world, yes, you use slave troops, recruited followers, or people be-spelled to not betray you. But they are treated as family and lovers most the time, not as drones. Betrayal is common over there. Over here also, someone will want a six digit salary to dungeon dive with you sometimes. Its kind of a mess. Anyway, try to think of who else you can bring into your team. Oh, I have to go to work now. I'm about to be late if I don't go now," he waved and then left.

We got the other girl up not long after that.
She seemed to be taking things OK. She's not as mad today. I spoon fed her breakfast, which confused her as she thought she'd be doing forced labor and is instead getting the royal treatment.

Little by little I'm figuring things out a bit more.
My other brother texted me at 8:31 AM. 'Jay, I want to go show you the dungeon and the Tower that we've been climbing. Keep your schedule open at 1 PM. I'll pick you up then,' he sent.
Things are moving faster than I like.
I exchanged some more dialogue with Melanie. She says for enchanter element stuff I'd need both Int and Wis. But she doesn't really know about my mind control element stuff. And I'm not sure telling her that would be a good idea.
As far as I can tell when the charm and seduce enchant is active I'm not taking a hit on my mana regeneration stat. But that might be because the enchant uses the target's own mind to fuel it.
My mana bar is now at 77/252.
I pulled up my status screen while Melanie was helping the other girl shower. (Her enchanted chain does let her do that.)

OK, so...now that I've gotten information, I know that getting points is really, really difficult. I have to be careful and use them well.
Also I'm not a tank build or close combat guy, so mixing builds is a mistake. But I will probably benefit from some 'App' stat, since that affects mind control.
"OK...so..."
I put a +1 into Wis. Then I verify that each +1 in Wis is bringing up my mana regen by +1. It also brings my max mana up by +1.
So I kept increasing it, adding in +10 total points into Wis. Then I put +4 into App, and +8 into the 'Int' stat. Right away, the system brings up my total stats easily. But out of nowhere I also got some benchmark bonus from getting to 99 Int, which gave me a free +1 Int. (I suspect that I can only get this benchmark once every very rare now and then. But there was also a bonus for getting to 100 Int, which gave me a free bonus +50 mana!(Also linked to demon lord clan!)
Whoa! I'm getting some very cool bonuses!

According to the guides in dad's library, its rare to even get 100 mana! And I have over three times that!
I also found out according to the 'secret guide' in dad's library, its supposed to give me approximately 3 max mana per +1 of Int. But when you hit 100 Int, it changes to +4 per int! And it seemed the +50 bonus mana, was actually that, giving me the gain retroactively with a small demon lord clan bonus on top of it, but only counting the retroactive gain from 70! (So 30 +20!)
My mana flow feels much stronger! The flow of the mana regen going up feels good also!
This means I'll be able to do a lot of skills per day. And you do get free XP and skills per day by trying to use skills a lot each day! This will fuel huge growth!
And as far as I can tell, also Charm and Seduce cost me 10 mana each! (This still seems to not be wearing off on Melanie. It seems to last a long time, at least with my version. Or maybe that's because Melanie had on some level already liked me?)
I wonder just how far I can reach into the sky?
There's probably ways of getting bonus stats also, but I don't know yet how to do that.

A text shows up in my cell phone from Janey.
'Why didn't you wait? You could have had all of us. I'm so disappointed!'
Janey sent me a text with a picture of herself all dolled up.
9:14 AM
Another text came through from Shelly. 'Jay, why did you leave?! And mom says Melanie eloped with you! Why didn't you stay with us and have all of us?!' she sent.
But deep inside if I would have taken all 3 sisters, the aunt wouldn't have let it go. Plus, it would have ended up with me being controlled instead of them.
While going through the texts Melanie came back into my room with a towel wrapped and her. The other hot girl is with her, also only wearing a towel but still looking nervous and avoiding talking to me.
"Hey, Mel, help me with this," I said.
"Um. OK, sure. What do you want to know?" she said.
She stopped to adjust her towel, no doubt also tempting me. She'd opened it briefly showing me her tits and full body and then retied it, like it was nothing with another towel around her head.
"OK, what is this? Why are your sisters sending me this stuff?" I asked.
Melanie looked a bit saddened and stressed looking down. "OK, come sit with me on the bed."
"Sure."
Nearby us the other captive girl is trying to not let us see her get her clothes back on, but I don't mind. (I should go out to buy her some good clothes and stuff shouldn't I later today?)
Melanie took my hand on the bed. Then I was a bit surprised when she undid her towel and then put my hands on her bulging breasts.
(Wow, mind control is fun.)
"Jay, I need to apologize to you. Before you... I don't know. I'm not sure what you did. But I've never felt so alive being with you. Before you recruited me, I'm not lying to you that it was a total setup and con job for us to recruit you. I didn't even intend for you to be my only boy toy. My sisters are in on that also, and probably worse. But its real now. I'm totally with you now and only you. I won't betray you. I don't know what you did. But I really do care for you. By 10 AM
We'd secured more gear. Melanie is willing to help me but can't go with me to the dungeon, as she's an amplifier.
She did show me that my status screen has a box I'd overlooked under my 3D pic image that says, 'buffs in effect'. And in this case it shows the amplifier skill. And this amplifier buff says its giving me an effect of +15% success rate, and +15% effectiveness on magic skills!
(Per Mel it does +10 to normal people. But if she has sex with me then the skill does +15 to each. This is why she'd been embarrassed earlier.)
We continued getting ready, since my brother intends to pick me up.
I found an old baseball bat in the gym storage closet, which I can use. Our house doesn't have guns though, since those don't do much good against magitek or magic jobs.

While getting ready, I get a phone call.
"Hey Jay, this is Sue. How are you?" she asked.
"F-fine. Hi Sue."
"Listen, I can forgive you for taking my Melanie. Do you think you could come over later today? We can have a lunch together with Janey and Shelly. They miss you," she said sweetly.
"Uh...my parents won't let me for awhile. Why not talk to them. If they are OK with it then maybe," I said.
"Are you sure you can't just come over? We can be like the other day. Maybe I'll even join them in the pool with you," Sue tempted.
(Sue isn't bad looking but a bit older than I should be with.)
"I have to go," I said and hung up.
Wow.
Its quite serious that a lot of people really do latch onto people with power.
(The captive girl dad got me still won't talk to me. But we gave her some things to read. And she's at least showing that she's not brain dead. I also got a TV put in my room to let her entertain herself. But it doesn't have internet access, because who knows if she'd try to send signals. We also made sure there's nothing sharp in my room. Melanie will keep an eye on her while I figure out what to do.)
I'm really tempted to let her go. But if I do, my family will kill her.
The enchanted chain really does not let her get free. I'm surprised.

I spoon fed the breakfast to the new sexy hot blonde girl in my room. (I was told that this is how she's supposed to get her meals, to get her to like me. If she doesn't let me do that then per dad and mom, no food.

My mana bar is now at around 128/339.
If I'm really going into the dungeon with my brother Ryan, or doing something with him, then I'll need to have it as high as possible.
I risked a bit of mana to reset the Charm on Melanie. (-10 mana)
But I don't dare risk using charm and seduce on the other girl yet. I'm worried that it might not work as good with her, if use it before trying to get her to feel some real kindness. Yet its impressed me that I haven't heard her cry or show anger yet. Maybe she knows she'll be punished.
My family...jeez. I can't believe they did this.

Chapter 10
All day, I was both eager and worried to await my first day in the dungeon, that Ryan was supposed to take me to.
My stomach feels all crazy with butterflies. I'm having trouble focusing. And I can't wait for the chance to get help leveling up. And I'm surprised that Ryan will do this for me, so that also makes me more nervous. And it was hard to concentrate in school while thinking about this.
When I got home from school, I rechecked my gear over and over to make sure I had everything I needed.
Mountain climbing backpack for loot, check

Shrink wrap poultry bags to store (meat) loot, check
Zip lock bags for messy stuff, check
Garbage sacks to put parts in for sorting from loots, check.
It didn't take long for Ryan to arrive to pick me up later. I'd also kept my phone on with some geography map apps recently put on, so that I can find my way back to whatever this place is.
When Ryan pulled up in front of the house, the maid came up to get me while he's sitting in his flashy Lamborghini.
I went down and then joined him.
He waved as soon as he saw me. Then he opened the door of his vehicle.
Wow.
The Lamborghini smells nice and looks nice.
This really is him showing off in extreme wealth and a car that people practically worship while taking me on my first dungeon run. He's also already wearing some kind of body armor under a big long coat that's mostly concealed.
Ryan has a lot of secrets. Some of them seem interesting.
But even though he's a bit more tame than Diego, I already know he's the type that won't tolerate me poking my nose into his affairs too much.
"Are you ready little bro?" he flashed his teeth in a smile while sitting in the driver's seat.
"Is this going to be fun? What should I expect?" I asked while bringing my small duffel bag in the car with me. I'm sure the excitement on my face shows a bit too much.
But who wouldn't be excited at the idea of 'leveling up'?
"Oh nice. A baseball bat? Is that what you are going to use for a starter weapon?" he asked.
"Probably. Unless you recommend something else?"
"Hm...yeah that's actually a good choice, until you find something really great later on. I'd stick with it until you find better. Bats are great for dungeon hunts, and also easily replaceable also. Uh, well you should expect it will be hard work actually," Ryan said. "Dad asked me to give you a few pointers and show you what to do. But you understand climbing 'The Tower' is deadly don't you? Have you been properly briefed that failing in there means monsters will eat and kill you, and that there's no rescue coming from other people?"
"You say, 'The Tower'?" I asked. "Yes, I know its deadly," I added.
"It is deadly. Yes, we call it 'Climbing the Tower'. You've heard the spill, that everyone tries to gain magic and stat points by going deeper and deeper in as they level up. Its a good way to make money, after you have enough strength. You won't make billions of dollars early on yet until you get strong. But you need to have some combat skills. I want to warn you about that. You can't fuck up in there, or you come home dead. Do you understand?" he asked me seriously with a sort of self righteous slash warrior pose.
Maybe he's showing off a bit also.
"I...think so."
"Good. If you work hard then you can become like me someday," then he went into his own version of a big nosed teacher mode.
"Don't fuck up. I won't be here to carry you. The best way for you to get strong is to carry yourself. It weakens your stats to let others carry you. And the status screen system,...whatever it truly is, doesn't reward being carried as much. That's why you want to figure out how to survive the deep end of the pool early and do lots of research on everything you can. That whole bit of getting power leveled by family makes people weak also," Ryan said.
"Well let's get going. You can talk to me while I drive also," he added.
Ryan was kind of fun in some ways. Its too bad he works for the 'Company Firm'. We stopped at a convenience store and got some drinks and sandwiches, and snacks.
But sometimes he's quiet.
"So about what you said before in being carried, or carrying others, there's no gain from it?" I asked.
He shook his head while he continued to drive getting on the freeway. "Don't get me wrong it works to a point. But you just won't end up with the heavy solid stats you want. You might have a high level but weak as a dog. When I do t
ower groups, the guys that were family power leveled get people killed, because they don't understand the mechanics or their own skills. And they got things with no effort, so that's why their stats are gimped. They'll also have fewer skills, and those will be smaller strength also. And then there's some stat loss from the carry itself, though its not a huge dramatic loss. But over time it tends to compound. The best thing to do is to get your feet wet and carry yourself."
