When she slides back up my body, she kisses me with my own taste on her lips. It’s always been one of my favorite things, our tastes together. Our mutual chemistry, that clashes so, also blends.
She strokes my hair, my face, the inside of my arm, while my heart rate returns to normal.
“You,” she says.
“What?” I think maybe she means my turn, and I’m not sure my muscles are going to function yet. I’m not sure they’re going to function today. My thighs are still trembling.
“That’s what you said, when I told you to tell me what you want.” She kisses the inside of my elbow.
“And never leave me.” I look at her fiercely. “Never leave me.”
Vick laughs. “Have I created a monster? Are you going to become demanding now?” She tucks into my side like she’s going to rest for a few minutes.
“I’ve always been demanding,” I protest.
The instinct to protect myself will come back, I know that. But right now, I want to give her something of what she’s given me.
“You.” I say. I trace her jaw with my finger. “That’s what I want. Everything of you.”
I want everything. I want a long life with her. I want long nights and the end of dragons and maybe a nice flower garden for us to putter around in. Maybe a cat. A future.
Her. Most of all, I want her.
My muscles are returning to normal. I kiss her, hard. “Tell me what you want.”
She tells me.
