“Kiernan? I just finished talking with Mrs. Arrington. She’s doing great.” Gideon said as he walked onto the beach.

Although the tests from Mrs. Arrington came back inconclusive, I was able to heal her. When I visited the hospital, I shook her hand, taking whatever ailed her away. Even with all the knowledge of her medical history, I couldn’t figure out why she was sick, so instead I decided to make it easy on her, her mate, and Gideon.

“That’s wonderful.” I said to my husband. I’d shocked the world twice with my marriage and retirement announcement. Just like my Nectune people, the Earthlings who’d worked with Kiernan weren’t happy with my choice. My agency pleaded with me to reconsider, because I’d already made up my mind.

I swam back to the shore and rose from the water. I hugged Gideon close and kissed his lips. “I’m not ready to start school.”

“I know you’re not, but at least you were able to produce a college degree to skip regular college. Medical school is a whole ‘nother beast.”

“I’ll be fine. Remember how smart we Necetune are?”

“Yep. Just saying, be prepared. You’re going to the same school I did.”

“Yes Sir. I curled my arms around Gideon’s neck.

Although Kiernan made a great living, his position wasn’t how I wished to continue my existence. When I obtain my degrees, Gideon and I will open a clinic for the less fortunate in Los Angeles. Eventually, we plan to travel to third world countries to help, but this will do for now. Too bad I can’t avoid additional years of med school, but it is what it is.

In order to do that, Gideon had to marry me. We tied the knot just two months after closing on our house only about a block away from Elijah and Jaxon. Though I applied for citizenship, it would be a while before I became an American. Honestly, I didn’t care, but United States had strict rules against foreigners, yet another reason why Necetune and Earth would never align.

“So what are we doing today?”

“I thought of going back to Necetune with the babies, but suddenly, seeing you is giving me other ideas. Very soon now, I won’t have all this extra time, and I’d like to take advantage.”

“Oh really?” Gideon’s voice dropped an octave. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close. “You know I don’t take issue with that. Or if you’d rather take the children on a trip, I’ll stay here until you return.”

  Damn.

Hearing my husband say those words gave me pause. This feeling of being in love would never get old.

Just as I was getting lost in my husband’s eyes, all the kids squealed about leaving. I suppose my decision had been made for me.

Gideon pressed a kiss to my lips. “I’ll be here on the beach when you return.

Although I didn’t want to leave Gideon’s side, my role as parent was more important. “Children, gather around.” I said in Necetune. After stealing one more peck from Gideon, I reluctantly left his side to grab 99 from the bowl. Both Elijah’s kids and mine congregated in my general area, all mewling in response. “Since it will be just us for a while, how about a swim?” We’d travel lower underwater to avoid humans.

Several of them agreed with that sentiment, making me proud. All of them enjoyed the short trips to explore wildlife and learn things about other water species.

After shifting, I waved at Gideon and guided them from the shore to the bottom of the ocean.

Despite the enjoyment of being human, I’d never forget what I was or where I came from.

The Necetune ruler who’d come to earth for fun and found true love.

  Author’s Personal Note

In June of 2011, my cousin Scottie Collins took his own life. After his death, my uncle informed me he did it because he was gay and felt he had no one to turn to. When I learned this, my writing took on a whole new meaning. It was no longer about writing hot, sexy stories or making lots of money. It was about letting people know they could be happy with who they are and be loved for it.

One thing I stress in every book is that it’s okay to be different, and you’re never alone. If no one understands, or you feel you need some help, don’t hesitate to ask.   Mate him or eat him? Elijah can’t make a decision but must if he plans to survive!

After breaking up with his longtime boyfriend over a misunderstanding, Jaxon needs a roommate. Despite his job bouncing for babes at a local hotspot, he can’t pay rent on one source of income. Jaxon is two shakes away from being evicted, thus be forced to live with his folks. Living on the street in the dead of winter doesn’t hold any appeal.

Elijah hates living on Necetune. Using a variety of species for food and taking over neighboring planets is fun, but he’s bored to tears. His love for adventure takes him to Earth where people are enjoying themselves. Staying hidden shouldn’t be hard, especially with many humans to host. Only problem, Elijah mustn’t get caught by Necetune warriors who eagerly await to imprison him.

Needing a place to stay, Elijah answers Jaxon’s advertisement. The two lock eyes immediately, or could it be the irresistible scent that Elijah is emanating? The alien never intended to fall for a sexy human, but perhaps finding a mate would stop his planet’s government from coming to get him.

Elijah’s fate depends on Jaxon’s choice to give up the normal for good.

Love at First Crush is a sexy, low angst, gay romance between an adventure loving alien and a human who loves walking through the apartment wearing little clothing. Tentacle sex, cute alien babies, and laughs are included.
