Reckless Longing Page 23

I held my arms up as he pulled it off over my head, dropped it over the edge of the bed, and unfastened the back hook of my bra. I clutched my bra to me. "Take off your shirt."

  "Shy?"

  "Fair's fair."

He grinned and shrugged his shirt off, letting it fall over the side of the bed.

I dropped my hands from where they cupped my bra against my breasts and let him pull the bra away. His eyes went wide when he saw my budded breasts, excited because of him. "You're so beautiful."

I arched back so they pointed directly at him. As he leaned forward to suck them I pointed at his pants. "Take them off."

  "Bossy."

"I want to feel you, too."

He slid his jeans off and tossed them over the edge with the rest of our clothes. We stared at each other. And then he leaned over and sucked my breasts, easing me back on the bed. The tightness between my legs built until I thought I couldn't stand it.

Finally, he slid one hand beneath the lace of my thong panties and slowly began stroking and probing me. He worked magic with his fingers, the same way he did with my heart. I blossomed for him.

I pulled his hard-on out of his briefs, turned on by the long, pulsing firmness of it, and began stroking him, too. As waves of pleasure built, I gasped. The sense of oneness with him grew until I was almost overcome with the power of it.

"Logan." I whispered his name and stroked him harder.

And then, just when I felt like I couldn't stand the aching need, wave after wave of pleasure crashed over me. I lost my grip on Logan, caught up in my own passion.

Just as I was about to apologize for being an insensitive, selfish lover, he stiffened and his warm spray covered my abdomen.

  "I'm sorry, El. I'll get a towel."

I smiled at him and held onto him. "You have absolutely nothing to be sorry about. This is beautiful." I was still breathless as I leaned back against the pillows that smelled like him and sighed with happiness. I cuddled into him. We lay there, wrapped in each other's arms. I thought this was perfection, that nothing could be better.

He wiped my stomach with the edge of the blanket and kissed my bellybutton. "This is beautiful, too. If you hadn't gotten it, we never would have met. Have I ever told you that girls with bellybutton rings are hot?"

"Once or twice." I smiled at him.

We lay sleepily intertwined for a long, peaceful time. Finally, Logan slid out to use the bathroom. "Be right back."

I missed his warmth the minute he left the bed. As he disappeared into the bathroom, my phone buzzed with Jason's ringtone in my purse on the nightstand.

My heart stood still. I frantically grabbed for it. A text. The results are in. We need to talk.

  I went completely cold.

Logan came out of the bathroom, holding a hand towel. "El? What's wrong?"

I slid the phone back into my purse. "Nothing." I held my arms out for him. "Come keep me company. Hold me."

He lay down beside me and pulled me close. "El, I really do love you."

Jason could wait. I was going to hold onto this perfect moment forever. It may be the last one we had.

  Author's Note

When I was in college, my roommate and I really did use baked goods as bribes, mostly chocolate chip cookies and the occasional snacking cake. One time my roommate ran out of chocolate chips and substituted raisin bran. Yeah, not really the best. But the guy she gave them to wolfed them down. Go figure.

In case you ever need to bake a bribe, I've included the recipe for Ellie's Top-Secret Cobblestone Bars. This recipe really is adapted from an industrial-sized recipe from a major Pac-12 university dining hall. And they are yummy and decadent!

  Happy baking!
