With all of his brothers slowly getting married, it was really adding to their wedding expenses. It didn’t help that they were sort of all doing it one after the other, just a few months if that between them. But! Today was his day and Kelly’s and that was all that mattered.
He rapped his knuckles on the door of Kelly’s dressing room and she opened it just a sliver a moment later, gasping as she recognized her groom.
“Pran! You’re not supposed to be here!” she said, though Pran caught a very distinct glance of the white of her dress.
“Hey! I thought you were wearing green! Like I am!” he said, making his voice sound as hurt as he could possibly manage while pointing to his outfit.
“Yeah, right. Like I’d go along with every single one of your harebrained schemes,” Kelly said with a grin, mirroring the one Pran was wearing now.
“And this is the kind of woman I’m looking to marry,” Pran scoffed, rolling his eyes dramatically.
“What, getting cold feet already? Am I going to have to ask one of my brothers to chase you down?”
“Please. I’m a stag, they’d never catch me.”
“Fine, one of your brothers then. I have it on good authority that Vix and Comet are both faster than you are,” she said, arching a brow in a way that could only be read as confrontational.
“They did not!” Pran gasped, clutching his heart as if she’d shot him in the chest. “I’m going to go find those two and—”
“Stop,” she laughed, snaking one hand out through the gap between the doorframe and the door, clutching his lapels as she dragged him nearer so they could share a kiss through the narrow opening. “Behave, baby.”
“Do I have to?” he asked, pouting.
“Only for a little while,” Kelly confirmed.
“Fine. If you so wish. I’ll behave on my wedding day,” he said, sighing heavily. “You look beautiful, baby. I’ll be waiting for you up there, okay? Don’t run out on me either. Comet might be faster than I am but I can run you down no problem.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Kelly said with a laugh, slowly closing the door.
Pran paused in front of the closed door, battling his urge to knock again and steal another kiss, but managing to reel himself in. He shook his head with a sigh and grinned, walking to the front of the church. He stopped every now and then, exchanging a few words here and there with the people who’d come to wish him and Kelly luck.
If anyone had asked him a little over a year ago if he imagined himself standing in front of a church full of people, waiting for his bride to appear down the aisle, he would have assumed that the asker had been hit on the head with something hard and solid recently. But here he was and he couldn’t have been happier for it.
While it had seemed like his brothers were losing their minds one by one, he was glad to say that he too was firmly in the crazy camp now. Ready to spend the rest of his life with the woman he adored.
The last year had been spent getting to know one another and Pran had made good on his promise to show Kelly what his family really did. No surprise, Nick had been as big of a fan of her as she had been of him, and Pran was almost jealous at how well they got along sometimes. But Nick had that way about him, after all.
Pran had also come to know her brothers and the rest of her massive family, along with her sister’s husband who luckily enough was a completely sane kind of jaguar. Could never be sure with those guys. In fact, he was sitting in the third row that day.
But all those thoughts were cut short as the music started and Kelly appeared in the most stunning white dress he’d ever seen. She was, in a word, breathtaking.
Then again, since Pran had seen her, there hadn’t been a moment when she hadn’t been that and more for him.
Maybe it was the luck of the Irish, or just one buck’s, but Pran knew he’d found the love of his life, his mate. And he had vowed on his life to make her the happiest woman on earth.

“You know you’re playing with fire, right?” he asked casually, flicking a look at Dice that the werebear met with a nod.
“I know. But I don’t think they’ll be the ones I really need to worry about.”
“I think you’re right about that,” Thor said with a wink. “I think your girlfriend’s about to get here.”
Dice heard it too now, the ominous rattle of two large vehicles drudging through the jungle. His stomach twisted and he must have looked like a lovesick puppy there for a moment, because when Thor turned around to go stalk after the wolves, Dice heard a very obvious chucle pass over his lips.
The twins might think they’re all that, both sets, but it’s fucking Thor who could drop me like a rock from a mile away, Dice thought, watching the man leave before turning his attention back to the narrow road leading into the compound.
His heart thudded in his chest as the cars arrived, parking right in front of him. When the door to the first one opened, Dice thought he wouldn’t be able to find any words to speak ever again.

“Meredith,” he whispered, staring at her dumbly while she seemed to be doing much the same in response.
