He sauntered toward the bouncer. They exchanged a few words, then we walked inside. The blaring music pulsated my body. I ran my fingers over the black walls.

  “Do you come here often?”

“Enough. My friend Sebastian owns the place. He and his wife are upstairs in V.I.P. I wanted you to meet them.”

  “Ok.”

I scanned the bodies, molding together on the dance floor. My hips wiggled to the beat as Collin and I walked upstairs.

A handsome man threw his hand in the air.

Collin waved as we approached. “Hey, Sebastian.”

He stood and gave Collin a bro hug.

A woman around my height stood and stretched her hand toward me.

Her beautiful brown face lit up as our men introduced us.

Collin pulled me beside him as we sat on the oversized plush burnt orange sofa surrounding an orange wooden table. I scanned the beautiful club. Rectangular mirrors hung from the ceiling on either side. Orange fixtures dangled throughout. We had the perfect view of the spacious dance floor downstairs. I loved the pair of intimate candles resting on each table. The space felt inviting.

The waiter approached, and Sebastian ordered champagne.

“My husband mentioned you’re from Alaska. How do you like it here so far?” Her gorgeous eyes slanted as her purple lips widened.

“Yes. I am from Talkeetna, Alaska. I was Collin’s tour guide.”

  “Do you plan to return?”

“Not sure. I like L.A., it’s just very fast paced. I don’t have any friends, yet.”

It clicked as the words fell from my lips. Collin sought out a black woman who could possibly become my friend. It was thoughtful of him. The brief interaction Sydney and I shared was refreshing. We clicked. She was so easy to talk to. I wondered how long Collin and Sebastian knew each other.

“Are you ok?” Sydney’s smile dropped.

“Yes, I just realized Collin didn’t want me to be alone, so he introduced us.” I rubbed my brow.

Sydney rubbed my hand. “Nothings wrong with that. I’m from Atlanta, Georgia. Sebastian followed me out here.”

  My jaw slacked. “Really?”

  “Yes.”

Collin massaged my waist. It was hard to explain, but I felt comfortable with them right away.

The waiter returned and poured us each a glass of wine.

“I’d like to propose a toast.” Collin peeked at me.

  We held our glasses high.

“I had to fight off the local guys. I was able to persuade this beautiful woman to leave her life and move to L.A. with me. I’m a lucky man. Here’s to great friends and a wonderful woman to spend the rest of my days with.”

  My cheeks heated.

Our glasses clanked. “Cheers,” rang out around the table.

I drank half the champagne in a gulp.

Twenty minutes later, I was still engrossed in a conversation with Sydney.

“You’ll have to come over. My cousin Samantha and Sebastian’s cousin’s wife Lydia would love to meet you. We’ll have a light lunch at my house. I think I should warn you now my cousin is married to Jacob Latters.”

I threw my hands over my mouth. “What?” My eyes burned. I thought they’d pop out of the sockets.

  “Are you serious?”

  “As a heart attack.”

  “Wow. I love his show.”

“I’ll get tickets from Jacob so you and Collin can visit the set.”

I screamed and ran to the other side of the table, hugging her tight. “Thank you.”

  “You’re welcome.”

I sat back in my seat. “Sydney, I can’t believe you have children at home and you two still came out last minute to spend time with us. Most importantly, you’re inviting me into your circle. You both are so thoughtful.” Tears welled in my eyes.

“I can see the spark in your eye. You don’t take anyone’s shit.”

  I dabbed at my eyes.

“Sydney, she doesn’t. The day she arrived in L.A. Kara gave the waitress a piece of her mind at lunch.”

“She was flirting with my man right in front of me. The nerve.”

A devilish smile curled Sydney’s lips. “Sebastian, I love her.” Her eyes never left mine. Was she plotting something?

“She’s a woman after my own heart.”

He flashed his pearly whites. “Baby, don’t get any ideas.”

An evil spark flashed in her brown eyes. “Ever shot a gun before?”

“Of course, I have. My dad and I hunt deer. I carry a shotgun on my overnight trips on tours. Never know what wild animal might decide to attack.”

“Yeah, she’s a tough one,” Collin chuckled.

“Good. We sometimes hangout at the gun range in my cousin’s basement. You know, just brushing up on our skills.”

  “Sounds like fun.”

I glanced at Sebastian. “Collin’s condo is absolutely to die for. I love the view from the rooftop. You did a great job finding his place.”

  “Thanks.”

“Does your family live downtown too?”

“No, we live in a gated community. We needed a place for the kids to run free.” Sebastian sipped his champagne.

“Living in a high-rise condo with children can be a challenge,” Sebastian smirked.

“Kara, when you’re ready to buy a house I’ll be happy to help.”

“Wonderful. Oh, and this night club is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s classy.”

“Yeah, just how Sydney wanted it.”

I smiled at her. “Good taste.”

“Let’s dance.” Sydney stood in her studded stilettos.

“I’ve been waiting to dance,” I screeched.

  ∞

Two hours later, I slipped off my heels and curled up next to Collin on the sofa.

“That was fun.” My teeth gripped his earlobe.

  “It certainly was.”

I slipped his dress shirt buttons through each hole. Collin’s big hand squeezed my ass.

“It just so happens your friend is married to the coolest black woman I’ve ever met. Was that a coincidence?”

“She accompanied Sebastian when he showed me this place. She was so sweet. I spoke to Sebastian before we left Talkeetna. I wanted them to meet you. I knew they’d fall in love with you, too.”

“Collin, that’s so sweet.” I climbed into his lap and shoved his shirt down his arms.

“I want to ride your big cock until I come.” Standing briefly, I staggered as I dropped my dress, then panties to the floor.

“Oh, sounds like you want it right now.” His eyelids hooded.

  “Is this safe? We’re drunk.”

“Baby, we can fuck drunk in the comforts of our own home.”

I leaned over, unbuttoned his slacks and yanked them down his muscled legs. Collin slipped his boxers off too.

“Come here, Kara.” He pulled me into his lap. I stood on my knees. His cock stood at attention, poking my tight hole.

Caressing his angular jaw, my eyes fell over his handsome face. This man was my forever. His greedy tongue slipped around my areola. My head fell back.

“Yes.” My body never craved another man’s touch. Only Collin’s. I was wet the moment we sat in the car after leaving the club. He lined his cock up with my slit and I inched my pussy down his long, thick shaft.

“Fuck. I love fucking you. I love that you are my man. Collin Kolby Daughtry.”

His lips crushed mine as he gripped my hips, sliding me up and down his dick. I released his shoulders and gripped the back of the sofa and took control. Bouncing up and down, I loved how his huge mushroom head filled my pussy.

My body shivered against him. “Yes. It’s so good.”

I hit the jackpot. My first love had a beautiful cock I was not willing to part ways with.

He bit my nipple. “I want to marry you,” his words slurred.

I knew it was the alcohol talking.

He gripped my face and stared
deep into my soul. “This is the only pussy I want to be deep inside for the rest of my life. I’m crazy in love with you. I’ll kill a motherfucker, Kara. You’re mine. I know you hate when I say that, but I want everyone to know you belong to me. Seeing Alaska through your gorgeous brown eyes was one of the best moments in my life.” His head dropped back as I circled my hips like he taught me.

“Shit, baby. Before we visit Alaska, my ring will be on your finger. Kara, your pussy is squeezing my dick in the best way possible.” His tongue slipped between my lips.

Collin pulled back. “I’ll kill them all,” he growled.

My body shuddered against his heaving chest. I gripped his curls and slammed my pussy against his swelling balls. “You’re fucking me so good. Look at me, Collin. Open your eyes and look at me.”

His brown eyes peeked at me. “I’ll slaughter a bitch in your office, in the elevator, in our home, if another woman disrespects me. Thinks she can take you from me. I’ll kill her, Collin.”

Tears and beads of sweat rolled down my face.

A wicked smile crept across his lips. “I know, baby.” He licked my chin.

“My fucking rugged princess has that killer look in her eyes. Like you did in the diner before we left Alaska.”

My forehead dropped against his. “They had no right flirting with you like that. They were lucky I didn’t snap their necks.”

  “Forget them, baby.”

“Ok. If you’ll forget…the guys. Oh my god.” My pussy tightened as he circled his cock.

  I was almost there.

His eyes darkened. Collin stood still deep inside me. I gripped his neck. He stalked toward our bedroom, flipped on the light, and laid me on the bed. Collin bent my legs and slid deeper inside me.

The sheet twisted in my grip.

  “Collin.”

“I won’t ever forget those bastards.” He pounded my pussy. “This good ass pussy is mine. I plan to come so fucking hard between these greedy little lips. They thought they could intimidate me. Take you from me.” A sinister laugh released from his throat. “No.”

Holding my thighs in his muscled arms, he slammed inside me again and again.

“Oh, Collin. Oh, Collin. I’m coming,” I yelled.

Electric pulsations lit every nerve in my body on fucking fire. He released my legs and moved me to the middle of the bed. Collin hovered over me. “I have to make you my wife.” His body stilled as he unloaded his seed deep inside me. “Fuck,” he roared. His large cock filled my tight walls.

It was fucking beautiful. Yeah, doubt he’d ever forgive the guys in Talkeetna. Guess we were even.

  CHAPTER TEN

  KARA

The butler greeted us at Collin’s parents’ massive front door. I squeezed his hand as we walked into the gray and white sitting room. The yellow sundress fell right above my knees. The bow tied around my waist gave me that sweet classy look and feel. The nude stilettos were a nice touch.

His father stood at the long black bar, pouring himself a bourbon or whiskey. His short red hair was combed neatly off his forehead. Collin’s mother sat on the sofa sipping a cup of tea behind a smug smile.

“Mom and dad, I’d like you to meet my girlfriend, Kara Riley from Talkeetna, Alaska. Kara, I’d like to introduce you to Allan and Doris Daughtry.”

His father now stood beside his wife and they shook my hand, respectively.

“Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Daughtry.”

“Hello, Kara, from Alaska,” Mr. Daughtry stated dryly, with an Irish accent. He was fit for his age. Fine gray hairs blended with the red hair around his ears. I suppose he was once attractive. His solemn attitude matched his dead brown eyes. He couldn’t wait to turn his back and remove himself from my presence.

I wondered if Collin told his parents I was black. Nope, I bet he didn’t. He probably wanted to see the look on their faces. Watch them squirm before me. That part gave me delight. Good, feel uncomfortable assholes.

I swept my sweaty palms along my dress. How could we have dinner together? His father couldn’t even stare at me for one minute.

“Kara, have a seat dear.” She patted the light gray sofa beside her. I didn’t notice his mother sat down. I was in my own world.

Collin followed his dad back to the bar.

“How are you enjoying sunny California?”

“There’s so much to do. Harry has been so thoughtful and patient. I probably asked him a million questions about the city. Next up, Santa Monica. Collin works a lot, but I hope he’ll accompany me.”

“Collin, doesn’t need to take anymore time off,” his father grimaced.

“What’s this I hear about you pushing back the deal in Milan?” he snapped at Collin.

“I needed a couple of weeks. It’s important that I make my woman feel at home. We’re definitely flying to Milan next week.”

“She’s a grown woman. She doesn’t have to go on your business trip.” His brown eyes darkened.

Collin slammed his fist on the bar. My heart skipped a beat.

“She’s my woman. Kara goes where I go. You don’t tell me what I should and shouldn’t do in my relationship. All that matters is that I run the company and close deals, right?”

  He waved Collin off.

Collin stepped over and placed a vodka seduction on the coffee table before me. It was my favorite drink, but I couldn’t drink it. My monthly visitor hadn’t arrived.

“Collin, may I have a glass of water, too?”

  “Yeah, sure.”

I didn’t want to alert anyone that I wasn’t drinking, so I kept the vodka and let it sit while I drank the water.

“The drink Collin made for you is a lovely golden yellow. Is it good?”

Her beautiful green eyes lit up.

“Yes, it’s called a vodka seduction.” Shit, she may think I used the drink to seduce her son.

“Passion fruit is the main ingredient. My favorite fruit. Collin makes sure I have fresh fruit in our fridge every day.” My heart thudded my chest. My nerves were on edge. I felt weird, calling Collin’s condo our home.

“So, you live here permanently, Kara?” Doris asked, through a plastic smile.

  I grinned.

“Yes, she does, Mom. I already told you that.”

She waved Collin off. “Sweetie, I know. I’d like to hear it from her.” She swung her long brown wavy hair over her tan slender shoulder.

Why did she question if I’d permanently live here? “Yes, I’m here for good.”

Legs crossed to one side; she clenched her hands in her lap. “Collin, has never been serious about a woman before. You’ve definitely made an impression on our son.” She peered over her shoulder.

“Collin, I’ll take one of these pretty drinks you made Kara.”

He nodded as he placed the ingredients on the bar.

  “Kara, how old are you?”

  “Twenty-five.”

  “You both are so young.”

“Mom, age has nothing to do with it. We make each other happy.” He sat the drink before her and kissed her cheek.

  “She’s your future daughter-in-law.”

Her eyes widened. “Marriage?” She clutched her precious pearls.

“You’ve only known each other a little over two months.”

“Mrs. Daughtry, we aren’t getting married any time soon.”

But we could be pregnant. Bile rose in my throat. “Bathroom…please.” I cupped my hand over my mouth and shot to my feet.

Collin ushered me down the hall, into the powder room, and closed the door.

I dropped to my knees, hovering over the toilet. Collin held my hair. Felt like my guts poured into the porcelain bowl.

His powerful hand caressed my back. “Baby, we’ve been in the bathroom in the middle of the night all week. All you do is vomit. Pretty sure you wait till after I leave for work to run to the bathroom.”

I dry heaved, clutching the sides of the bowl. “I can’t stand you seeing me like this.

“It doesn’t bother me, Kara.” He helped me to my feet. I leaned over the beautiful decorative copper sink and rinsed out my mouth.

  “Kara, let’s talk.”

“Do they keep mouthwash in the powder room?” I peeked at the decorative fixtures. “This is a spacious bathroom.”

“Every bathroom is stocked with toiletries. Mom said you never know when we’ll have visitors. Our extended family’s pretty big.” He walked over to the closet and slid the door open. Collin returned, unscrewed the top, and placed the container on the counter.

“I have a pretty good idea of what’s happening, but I’d like to hear you say it.” He laid a hand towel on the counter.

Our eyes locked in the mirror as I swished the mouthwash.

What was I supposed to say? I’m pregnant. I’ve researched my symptoms online for a week. They all led to me being pregnant. I could have purchased a test at any time. Shit, I was in denial.

“No plans on answering?” He slipped his arms around my waist and kissed my temple.

“Kara, I love you. If we’re having a baby, tell me. Do you think I can’t handle it?”

“I don’t think I can handle it, Collin. We knew we’d get pregnant sooner or later. We’ve never used protection.”

His eyes narrowed. “And we never will. I look forward to starting a family with you.”

  I clutched his arms.

  “Are we having a baby?”

“I haven’t taken a pregnancy test. I’d rather not mention it to your parents tonight.”

“That’s understandable. On the way home, we’ll pick up a few tests.”

“Collin, there is no rush to get married if we’re pregnant.”

His nostrils flared. “We’ll get married before the baby arrives.”

I wiggled out of his arms. “We don’t know if we’re pregnant. There’s no rush.” Gripping the knob, I swung the door open.

Eyes wide, his mother stood in the hall, staring between us. “Are you pregnant?”

I fell back into Collin’s muscled chest. “No, I’m sorry we don’t know. We aren’t concerned about the matter right now.”

She stepped closer and rubbed my arms. “Why?”

“I don’t want to be rude, but I’d rather Collin and I discuss the matter later alone.”
