Another Four Weeks Later
After another long day at the jobsite, I come home to find my wife cooking. She never cooks, Normally, we eat in the hotel, so something must be up.

“It was long. I am glad to be home,” I tell her. We made it through Christmas and New Year’s, and we are settling in nicely.
“I made dinner, but it’s not quite ready yet,” she says coming into the living room where I am currently taking my boots off.
“That’s good. I should take a shower first. The drywall guys didn’t show up to help Dex, so we all jumped in,” I explain. My jeans are ruined, but I’ll just add them to my work pile.
“Okay. It’ll be ready in twenty minutes or so,” she says.
I kiss her before heading into the bathroom and directly into the shower. After a quick one, I am back in the kitchen. She is leaning over the table setting it. She is wearing teeny tiny shorts, the kind that most of her ass cheeks hang out of. Damn, I am a lucky, lucky man. Walking up behind her, I put her back to my chest.
“How was your day,” I ask, remembering my manners.
“Busy. Amazing,” she breathes.
“How so?” I ask. She turns to me and lays her head on my chest.
“I had a doctor’s appointment today. I have some news.”
“News?”
“I’m pregnant,” she says giggling.
“Fuck yes. This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for,” I say lifting her into my arms and twirling her around. I stop spinning and let her down my body.
“So, you’re definitely happy?” she asks hesitantly.

One Year Later

Nineteen Years Later
After twenty years with the woman of my dreams, this anniversary needs to be special. Extremely special. When we get to the airport, she gets all excited that we are going to fly first class this time. A lot has happened in the last couple of years for us. Foundation First took off after we built a movie star’s ranch in Denver. We had to hire several more crews and the four of us have taken on a more managerial role as opposed to actually building. These days, I often work from home. It’s the best of both worlds. I expanded the original cabins at the resort to provide additional living space, since we didn’t want to leave the home we built over the years.
Every day with Sue Ellen is like magic and I shudder to think what life would be like if she hadn’t been behind that counter that morning when I was about to explode about not having hot water, of all things. A first world problem that led me to her.
We do all the same things we did the first time, but we added making love on the beach at sunset this time. Getting older has made us more adventurous, to say the least. “Elliott,” she says on our last morning in Brazil. We haven’t gotten out of bed yet and I know where this is going.
“I think staying in bed is a great idea,” I tell her before she has a chance to say anything more. I love nothing more than sliding into my wife in order to make her mine, over and over again.
“You do?” she asks, turning to me.
“Every chance I get, I stay in bed with you, don’t I?” I ask her.
“Yes. Yes, you do,” she says before kissing my chest, just over my heart.
