“No…no one, ma’am,” he stuttered. Her eyes fell on him, and she didn’t release any of her calming powers on him. She preferred to feel the fear and terror wafting through him, a twitchy human.
“Good.” Only the corner of her mouth lifted. “Bring them to Sector 7, it has been recently…vacated. Chain them up there, and I will deal with them.”
“But ma’am, should we tell—”
Her cold glare shut him up.
“Yes, ma’am. Right away, ma’am.” He swiftly skipped out the door without a look back.
Coleman couldn’t find out what was happening. He couldn’t think for one moment that there was a virus spreading or that the Carbons were in any way contaminated. Doctor Irene was all too aware what he’d do if he found out.
Looking down to her arm, she lifted the sleeve of her white lab coat, revealing a fist-sized circle of rotting black skin. Loosening a breath, she pulled the sleeve down. She glanced at the former Carbon turned monster, a vision of nightmares, before she left the room.
Walking into the space next door, she found the young Carbon with golden blond hair and piercing gold eyes waiting patiently for her. The Carbon had restraints over her wrists, though she hardly needed them. The young Carbon’s powers were rendered useless in the room.
The doctor smiled sweetly as she sat in the chair across from the Carbon. She pushed her glasses up her tiny nose and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Now,” she said, tapping her pen against the clipboard on her lap. She looked the princess up and down. “What part of you should we remove first?”
