  “Of course. Anything.”

“Will you let me read one of your stories? Maybe one with me in it?” he asked.

I blushed again but nodded. “They’re pretty steamy.”

He grunted. “Then I need to read them right now. And you’d better stay close by.”

With a laugh, I agreed. “No problem.”

“Say you’ll come back with me. Even just for the night, and then we’ll figure the rest out.”

I leaned in and kissed him again. “Absolutely.”

Brady blew out a breath, and I was touched at how relieved he seemed that I was still here for him. “One more thing,” he murmured.

  “What?”

His eyes locked on mine. “I love you, too.”

  Chapter 18

  Three months later

I lit the last candle and then stood back to admire the living room and the mood I’d created for Noah’s first night in his new house. He and I had been back and forth to visit each other a lot over the last few months and two weeks ago we’d finally decided to move in together.

Perfect timing, too, because Noah’s lease was up and my house was finally finished.

I was getting both of my dreams. To have my own house and to live in it with the man I loved.

Checking my watch, I paced to the window. He was going to be here any minute. I’d wanted to make the drive with him but he said I should get done what I needed to get done here. He was right. I had a lot on my plate.

So did Noah. He was writing a new series under both his pen name and his real name. He said the drive gave him time to think.

I had to respect that, though I wanted as much time with him as possible. Especially now that he was letting me read his stories. I’d bought all his published books, read those, and now I was onto his unpublished stuff.

It was an honor that he let me read his work before he sent it to his editor. And I had to fight off Fox because evidently he’d been reading all the stories Noah had written under his pen name for years, well before either of us knew it was him.

They were hot. Extremely sexy but moving and fun and a great insight into Noah’s mind.

I learned a lot about him through those books, including ways to keep our relationship spicy—though we didn’t need much help in that department. Every time he came to visit, I couldn’t keep my hands off of him.

And Noah was new to this whole relationship thing, which made it even better. He was excited about everything and loved trying new things, loved spending time at home in bed or out hiking.

Whenever he’d get quiet, I knew he was just taking everything in or planning for a story. But he always told me what he was thinking whenever I asked.

I couldn’t deny it; we were perfect for each other.

When I heard the sound of a car driving up, I walked to the front door and stepped onto the porch.

I spotted Noah in his car and waved before I jogged out to him. He got out, and the first thing he did was put his arms around me in a tight hug.

  “I missed you,” he said.

That was another thing. Noah almost always told me how he felt now. Like he couldn’t get enough of talking to me about his feelings. I didn’t mind one bit. It was pretty new to me, too.

I gave Noah a long kiss. He ran his hands over my arms and then murmured, “Let’s bring in the rest of my stuff later.”

My cock jerked at the words. Fuck, he definitely made it clear when he wanted me. Which was basically all the time. Especially when he’d been thinking about a story or writing. It turned him on and then he wanted me, which turned me on, and fuck, I was a pretty lucky guy.

I didn’t argue, just took his hand and walked inside with him. He hadn’t seen the place since it had been completely finished anyway and I was eager to show it off.

“It looks so good,” Noah said, stepping into the foyer. He toed off his shoes while his eyes roamed the space. “Can we look around?”

I pulled his hand, taking him to the living room first. His eyes widened when he saw the candles scattered on the surfaces. “Special occasion?” he asked.

“You’re here, with me,” I told Noah. “That’s a big deal.”

  “And your house is finished.”

“Our house is finished,” I told him with a gentle smile.

He smiled back and leaned his cheek against my chest. “That’s the best thing I’ve heard all day.”

“I’m glad. And there’s something else.”

“What’s that?” he asked, still smiling. But his smile faded to surprise when I pulled the box out of my pocket.

“Noah,” I said simply, “Will you marry me?”

His mouth dropped open. But he didn’t hesitate for a moment. “Yes. Absolutely.”

I slid the ring onto his finger and realized his hand was shaking. “Are you nervous?”

“I’m happy. I’m—” He shook his head. “I can’t believe this is my life. I’m so happy I met you.”

“Me too. I love you so much.”

“I love you, too,” Noah said.

I never got tired of hearing it.

Noah kissed me and then looked around again. “This reminds me of something.”

I grinned. “I got a little inspiration from your last book.”

He looked over, cheeks flushed red. “You really don’t have to read all my books.”

“I like to. And it gives me ideas,” I said, wiggling my eyebrows.

  He laughed. “Like what?”

“Well, you know in your last book after the couple got engaged?” He nodded, cheeks getting redder. “I thought we might try that out. I have a brand-new bed.”

He smiled. “I’m not going to say no to that.”

“Good.” I pulled him close for another hug and felt his cock pressing hard into my thigh. “Let’s start there, and then we’ll have dinner.”

  “Dinner, too?”

“I have all sorts of ideas,” I told him, taking his hand and guiding him to the bedroom.

“It’s a good thing we have all night.”

I turned to him with a smile. “Forever. We have forever.”

  And then I kissed him.
