“Hair things?” she said with a grimace.

“Yeah,” he went on. “You know… combs and clips and pins… well… the things girls like to put in their hair.”

With an exasperated huff, Harley grabbed a strawberry and resumed pacing.

“You don’t get it, do you?” Harley said. “It’s a gilded cage. It’s nothing but a pretty prison.”

“I’m sorry, Harley,” Colin said, “but we really can’t let you out. The chances of you being captured by one of the enemies is just too high.”

“And the chances of you going out there and willingly cavorting with them is even higher.”

Tears of frustration lined Harley’s eyes. She just couldn’t believe how ridiculous the situation was. “They’re my friends.” A sob escaped her as she thought of Kingsley, Oak, Red and Zed. “My friends who are all good young men, and they’re out there, fighting, getting injured and possibly dying…” Another sob shook her and the desperate need to escape intensified.

She looked up at them. Ethan was still sitting on the edge of the bed while Colin leaned against the bedpost. Simply running to escape wouldn’t be enough. She’d have to fight them.

Once again, she bolted for the door, but when Colin grabbed her, she slapped him.

“Hey!” he said, trying to still her hands.

  She slapped him again.

“Damn it, Harley,” he said, finally getting a good hold of her.

She kicked him in the shin and he momentarily let go. She ran to the door but before she could open it, Ethan was on her, tackling her to the floor.

“Oh, for crying out loud,” Harley let out. “Get off me!”

“Not until you promise to stop trying to escape.”

“Okay,” she let out. “I promise.”

He got off her and got to his knees while she sat up and looked at him with a childish pout.

Ethan stood and offered her a helping hand which she refused.

“Get away from me,” she said.

She got to her feet on her own and glared at both of them.

“You’re not making it easy for us, Harley,” Colin said.

“We’re trying to do this in the most…” Ethan hesitated. “We’re trying to make it as pleasant as possible for you, Harley.”

“None of this is pleasant,” she spat. “None of it!”

“Harley,” Colin said. He was suddenly very solemn and serious. “The queen has authorized us to use any means necessary to keep you here… to keep you safe.”

  Ethan picked her up.

“No!” she cried. “Let go. Ethan! Let me go!”

He carried her to the sitting area where he sat her down on the settee. Ethan and Colin sat across from her and looked at one another then nodded and looked at her.

“What are you guys up to?” she said. She sat back and eyed the two trickster fae with suspicion.

“I’m sorry to have to do this to you, Harley,” Colin said. “But you leave us no choice.”

  “Do what?”

Colin looked at Ethan and nodded.

Ethan waved his hand before her face and she suddenly felt strangely numb and distant.

“You will no longer be friends or lovers with Prince Kingsley from the Kingdom of Sea,” Ethan said.

Colin waved his hand before her. “You will no longer be friends or lovers with the Prince and General Oak of Fall.”

“You will no longer be friends or lovers with the twins from the Kingdom of Fall.”

“You are the Princess of Spring.”

“You are loyal only to the Kingdom of Spring.”

They both sat silent for a moment watching her.

“Who are you?” Colin finally said.

“I am Princess of Spring,” she said.

  “Good.”

  “And who are your lovers?”

She looked pointedly at them. “I have no lovers.”

Colin hesitated, then smiled and said, “Not quite. You are madly in love with me.”

Ethan glanced at him, opened his mouth to object, but then turned to Harley and said, “You’re madly in love with me, too.”

  They smiled at one another.

  “Yes,” Harley said. “That’s right.”

Ethan looked to Harley once again. “We’re lovers and when I desire sex with you, you willingly comply.”

Harley nodded. “Of course, I do.”

Colin nudged him with his elbow. “Hold on a minute. That’s pushing it a bit too far, don’t you think?”

Ethan shrugged. “We want her to forget about her guys, don’t we?”

  “Well, yeah, but…”

“What better way to keep her here and happy than to have an amorous relationship with her. If not, thoughts of those guys will come creeping into her head and will ruin this spell.”

Colin nodded. “Okay. Fair enough.” He turned to Harley. “We’re also lovers, and when I come to you seeking intimacy, you can’t resist me.”

He turned to Ethan. “You see. I’ve made it so it’s her choice. I refused to force myself on her.”

Ethan looked at Harley. “When you see me, you’ll long to be in my arms.” He turned to Colin. “There. That ought to do it.”

They both waved their hands in front of her with finality, then looked at each other.

“Do you think we should test it to see if it works?” Ethan said as he grabbed his crotch with anticipation. “After all, we have to be certain she’ll stay well away from the wars.”

Colin nodded and got up to sit beside Harley. “How are you feeling?”

She leaned into him. “Oh, Colin,” she whispered. “I’m so glad you’re here.” She kissed his neck as she slipped her hand into his shirt and ran her hand over his hard muscular chest. “Oh, yes. So glad you’re here. I need you, Colin. I need you now.”

She kissed her way to his lips and passionately took possession of his mouth.

Colin groaned as he shifted closer and wrapped his arms around her. “Darling,” he said softly. “Let’s wait. We’re not alone.”

Harley shifted over and straddled him. “That doesn’t matter,” she said in a husky voice. “I want you, Colin. I’m burning up for you.”

He glanced at Ethan and shifted uneasily.

“What are you waiting for, lover?” she whispered.

“All right,” he said. “If you insist.”

He scooped her up and brought her to the bed. With hungry eyes, he looked down at her. “Do you have any idea how much I want you? How much I’ve always wanted you since I first saw you?”

“I’m right here, baby,” she said with a sexy pout. She pulled off her top and unclipped her bra, exposing her luscious breasts.

Colin gasped while Ethan, still sitting in the armchair groaned, his cock firmly in his hand.

With labored breaths, Colin took off his clothes, while Harley continued to undress. He licked his lips and climbed onto the bed and kissed his way up her thigh.

“Oh! Oh, Colin!” Harley let out in rapture.

His fingers, lips and tongue all worked together to bring her exquisite pleasure. She raked her fingers through his hair, pressing his head deeper between her legs.

Just as her orgasm threatened to explode, she grabbed a fistful of his hair and pulled him up. “Come,” she commanded. “Come fill me with your manliness.”

He lowered himself on her and guided his hardened shaft into her warmth.

“Oh, yes,” she said with a satisfied grin. “You’re such a brilliant lover.”

As Colin slowly rocked back and forth inside her, Ethan came to stand beside the bed, closely watching the encounter. His fist worked slowly over the length of his cock.

Harley gazed up at him and reached out to put her hand over his. Together, they stroked his hardness while Colin continued to make love to her.

Putting one knee on the edge of the bed, Ethan brought his cock closer to her and she leaned in to kiss it. Both Colin and Ethan let out a thrilled cry as the eroticism too
k hold of them.

With thunderous cries of passion, elation and satisfaction, all three experienced a massive and all-consuming orgasm that left them sated.

  Chapter 8

Day turned into night, and night turned into day, but none of it mattered. There was no morning, no noon, no evening. It was all a pleasant blur of flesh, musky odors, soft skin, hard-ons and sexual games.

“We will have to take a pause from these pleasing moments together,” Colin said as he ran his fingers through Harley’s hair.

They sat naked on the settee looking out the window and taking in the view. The war had moved on a little farther and they were no longer barraged with the sounds and smells of death.

“Why?” Harley said as she looked lovingly into his eyes.

“Your brother,” he said. “Prince Harris. He’s returned from battle.”

Ethan, who was laid out with his head in her lap, reached up to fondle her breast.

“He wishes to have dinner with his half-sister,” Colin went on.

“And us,” Ethan added. “His best friends.”

“Oh,” Harley said without interest. “Do we have time for one last romp?”

“Later tonight,” Colin said with a hungry grin. “After dinner.”

  “You promise?”

  “Oh,” he said. “I promise.”

“Well, then…” Harley sat up and disentangled herself from them. “I guess I’d better get dressed.”

“Okay,” Colin said. “We’ll go get ready and wait for you in the foyer.”

They left her and she headed to the bathroom to get ready. She bathed, washed her hair, brushed it out and then struggled to find something to wear.

What does a princess wear when having dinner with her prince brother?

Some of the evening gowns seemed too formal and constrictive, while many of the cocktail dresses were too sexy and inappropriate.

Finally, she found a happy medium. A black mini-dress with tight long sleeves, a high neckline, but a large circular cut out at the back. She tied her hair up to show off the cut-out, slipped into a pair of black pumps and headed out to join Colin and Ethan in the main foyer.

“Wow,” Ethan said. “Look at you.”

  “You look spectacular,” Colin added.

“And you guys don’t look too shabby yourself,” Harley said. She’d never seen them so regal and handsome. Wearing elegant suits in black and blue, crisp white shirts and black ties, they both looked like aristocrats of the highest order.

They made their way down to the dining hall and met up with Prince Harris.

With a wry chuckle, the young prince looked at the threesome. “Look at you… all chummy. When did you all become such good friends?”

Harley looked at him. “I’m just having a bit of fun, big brother,” she said with a sexy smile. “Don’t be such a fuddy-duddy and ruin everything.”

Harley sat facing her brother with Colin and Ethan on either side of her. The small and intimate table had been set for four, with white china trimmed in gold, crystal goblets and fine silver.

“I hope pheasant and roasted potatoes will please you,” Prince Harris said as servers entered with platters of food.

“I’m sure it will be delicious,” Harley said as she giggled and leaned into Colin. “After all, I’ve not eaten much lately, I’ve been too busy…” Laughing she patted Colin’s cheek and leaned in closer to passionately kiss him.

“Really?” Prince Harris said with concern.

Harley shifted over to lean into Ethan. “Yes. These boys have been keeping me quite busy.” She passionately kissed him as well.

Prince Harris narrowed his eyes and looked from Ethan to Colin with suspicion. “What’s going on?” he said as he speared a small potato with his fork.

“We thought it best to do away with her sentiments regarding… well, you know,” Colin said. “Those guys.”

“And all this adulation?” Prince Harris said.

Harley took a big bite of her pheasant and savored it. “Really good,” she said, ignoring their conversation. She was famished.

“Well,” Colin said softly, glancing over at Ethan as he sought an answer.

“We had to find something to… well, keep her entertained,” Ethan whispered.

Prince Harris shrugged dismissively. “Look,” he said, “to tell you the truth, I don’t really care what you do to keep her here, so long as she stays here.”

Smiling, Ethan and Colin looked at one another, relieved.

“In fact,” Prince Harris went on, “if she still feels the same when all of this is over, I will happily grant you her hand in marriage.”

Harley, her mouth filled with potatoes and the most delicious gravy, looked up at her brother, but didn’t object.

“The important thing is that you keep her from meddling in this war,” said Prince Harris. “Keep her from having any contact whatsoever with anyone from the other kingdoms. She has a big mouth and will try to warn them if she has the chance.”

“Hey,” she whined as she took another mouthful. “I don’t have a big mouth.”

Prince Harris ignored her. “With her out of the way, the Kingdom of Spring will win. The queen will have no trouble demolishing the new and inexperienced General of Sea. And the new General of Wood is no better. They have no idea what they’re doing. And, of course, the Army of Fall is divided and falling apart.”

“You can count on us,” Colin said with a sexy grin. “We’ll make sure she stays close to us at all times.”

“We’re prepared to do anything to ensure we win this war,” Ethan added as he kissed Harley on the cheek.

  Chapter 9

“Isn’t it a glorious day?” Harley said as she stood in front of the large window looking out on her kingdom.

The sun was high and bright, and the sky of the most brilliant blue. A light breeze rustled the leaves in the trees and fanned her hair off her face.

Colin came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her. “You’ve been cooped up in here for a few days now,” he said. “How about a little trip into town?”

Ethan joined them. “Good idea,” he said.

“Great,” Harley said. “Give me two minutes, and I’ll be ready.”

Ten minutes later they were heading out and into the village.

“Cute,” Harley said as she took in the small wooden structures, all so prettily painted. “It’s absolutely adorable.”

The bakery was painted a warm brown with buttery yellow trim and a forest green door. Beside it, the flower shop was painted fuchsia with deep blue trim and bright yellow flower boxes.

Farther down the street, the bridal shop was painted white with glittering silver sparkles everywhere.

“It’s all so adorable,” Harley said.

“Wait until you see the ice cream parlor,” Ethan said.

They arrived at a veritable rainbow. The narrow, three story building had every color painted across it. Dozens of young children patiently waited in line for their treat.

“That is delightful,” Harley said. “Even the building looks delicious.”

“I’m happy you like it,” Colin said. “We strive to keep the people here very happy. We’ve worked tremendously hard to make the village appealing and enjoyable.”

They passed before a solid looking stone building with a hardwood black door and black trim along the windows all lined with gold. The bank.

“Hey! Is that Marla and Jonathan there?” Colin said as he looked across the road.

“Yes,” Ethan said enthusiastically as he waved the couple over.

Smiling, Marla and Jonathan joined them in front of the village park.

“We’d like you to meet the Princess of Spring,” Colin said.

The couple curtsied and bowed as they smiled at Harley.

“Oh, no. Please,” Harley said modestly, urging them to stand upright. “It’s my pleasure to meet you.”

“I heard that your son, Perry, as well as your daughter
, Marian have joined the army,” Colin said.

“Yes,” Marla said. “We’re very proud of them. They’d do anything to protect their beloved kingdom.”
